Oh my gosh- this was SO good. I've now read all of Stacy Willingham's books, and this one is hands-down my favorite. I cannot wait to listen to the audiobook; I think it will be like listening to a really great episode of Criminal Minds.

Rarely do I get the pleasure of enjoying a book that takes place in my home state (South Carolina) and in town/areas I am broadly familiar with. Given this element of connection, I thoroughly enjoyed this story. More than I would have it been placed elsewhere – well, no. In fact, location aside, this book was enjoyable because the story itself was enjoyable. It was fun, fast, quirky, dark, and dramatic, all key components, in my opinion, of a good mystery or thriller.
Storyline aside, the character development occurred appropriately, and in alignment with the timeline of the story. The dialogue and actions of the characters felt authentic, not fabricated or rushed.
Overall, I found this story to be a solid 4.25 stars, rounded up from the 4 stars I provided. I would encourage anyone who enjoys a good mystery or thriller to pick up a copy when it’s released in the fall!
Many thanks to NetGalley, St. Martin’s Press/Minotaur Books, and Stacey Willingham for an advanced copy of this book, which I thoroughly enjoyed.

Claire, a journalist in New York, reluctantly returns home to SC to help her mother after an accident but this quickly turns into investigating her older sisters disappearance and assumed murder.

This one starts a little slow and for me didn't really pick up until about 60% through. However there was a lot of back story into this book in the sense that there was a lot of story building and dual timelines.

We get a twisted story about murder, manipulation, and missing girls. Great story

To date I have read all of Stacy Willingham's books and I have enjoyed all of them.

Thank you NetGalley for all the eARC in exchange for an honest review.

Willingham has done it again! Her writing truly is something else. There were so many quotes I wanted to highlight that were just WRITTEN SO WELL! Her word choices and descriptions pull you in on such a deep level, making the book even more enjoyable. It’s gothic. It’s dark. It’s atmospheric. It’s all the things we love in this genre.

This story truly is completely bingeable. While I would say the build-up in the first 30%ish felt slightly slow, the payoff is worth it on the other side. Told in two different timelines, I found myself completely invested and when I tell you the twists were twisting, I mean it!

I went into this one completely blind, which always adds to the magic for me in these types of books, so I don’t want to spoil the chance for you. But I will say if you are a fan of:

-Dark, gothic southern mysteries
-Atmospheric writing
-A mystery told in two timelines that comes together BEAUTIFULLY
-The fight to find a missing sister
-Twisty, twisty endings
-Gasp inducing surprises

Then definitely add this one to your upcoming TBR!

This was a highly, highly anticipated read for me and it did not disappoint.

I had high hopes for Forget Me Not, but it didn’t quite deliver. The premise had potential, but the execution felt slow and repetitive. Isabelle, the main character, is meant to be unreliable and complex, but I found her frustrating and hard to connect with.

The writing was atmospheric, but the plot dragged and the twists didn’t feel all that surprising. For a psychological thriller, it lacked real tension. I kept waiting for it to pick up, but it never really did.

Overall, it was a bit of a letdown. Not the worst book I’ve read, but definitely not one I’d recommend.

Wow! Forget Me Not by Stacy Willingham took me by surprise in the best way. This is the first book by this author I’ve read, and it won’t be the last! I adore books set anywhere in the South. The creepy atmospheric setting was perfect. The eerily crafted characters and all the twists kept me riveted. Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for granting me access to this wonderful book! Five stars from me. The cover is beautiful! And yes, forget me nots are my favorite flower! They grew wild by a lake from my childhood.

I was so excited to get an early copy of this book! However, I was disappointed. It did not get my attention like the author’s other books, and I found it hard to follow towards the end. It was a little convoluted with regard to the characters and their story lines. It also lacked the suspense that her other books brought. I would have to give it 2 stars, sadly.

Gobbled this suspense up in just a day!!! Easy read that kept me turning the pages! Found the bit a bit predictable however the second half of book made up for that as the connections and twists turns were not as I expected! I see this being a popular summer read for so many!

As a big fan of Stacy Willingham’s previous works, I was super excited to get an early peek at her newest release.

Let’s just say, I was not even a little bit disappointed. I devoured this in 24 hours. I loved everything about it- the mysterious setting, the characters and their backstory, and obviously the twists and turns were fantastic too.

Thank you to NetGalley, the author and St. Martin’s Press/Minotaur Books for the advanced copy.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for giving me an opportunity to read Forget Me Not by Stacy Willingham in exchange for my honest review. This was my first book by Willingham, and it won't be my last. I love a good southern thriller and was not disappointed. There were a lot of twists and turns that kept me guessing throughout. Not everything made compete sense, but I was engrossed and needed to know how it all turned out regardless. My biggest issue (and why I didn't rate it higher) was that Claire made some truly baffling choices throughout. She didn't seem to make the types of decisions that a real person would. I will say that the end was overall satisfying and that I hadn't completely predicted whodunit. So many thrillers these days are predictable, so something keeping me on my toes is a rare occurrence.

4.5-5 stars. This was cuckoo bananas. The only reason I lean towards 4.5 is because I thought the beginning was slow and we are led to believe Mitchell or Liam are the dangerous ones that it felt too obvious.

But alas, another twisty tale by Willingham that I could not guess the ending in full.

Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for the advanced readers copy.

Where to even start? This book had me on the edge of my seat from the very first chapter. I didn’t know what to expect, and honestly it stayed that way throughout the book. There was so many twists and turns that you never knew what would happen next. Claire was just trying to find an escape from her current life and was missing her sister, which led to the adventure of the book. I loved everything about it. From the writing to the whole story. I wish I could read it again for the first time.
Thank you NetGalley for allowing me the opportunity to read and review this book before it’s released.

Is there anything better than getting approved for an ARC from one of your auto-buy authors? I literally squealed when I got the email for this one.

I love Stacy Willingham’s thrillers, and her newest release did not disappoint. I was hooked from the first page. Claire’s return home to care for her mother quickly spirals into an eerie investigation tied to her sister’s long-ago murder. As she digs deeper, she uncovers a twisted pseudo cult disguised as a family—and it’s somehow connected to everything she thought she knew.

The atmosphere is haunting, the characters fully realized, and the unraveling mystery kept me flipping pages late into the night. It’s a slow burn in places, but when it hits, it hits.

4 stars from me. Creepy, layered, and unsettling in the best way.

Thank you @NetGalley and @Minotaur_Books for the early copy!

I loved this unique, atmospheric, and twisty psychological thriller.

I was drawn from the beginning, it’s tense and suspenseful, and made me turn the pages fast.

I was obsessed with this plot, it was very clever and mysterious.

Thank you so much St. Martin’s Press, Minotaur Books, Stacy Willingham and NetGalley for my eARC in exchange for my honest review.

Highly recommend.

Such a good and quick read! Stacy Willingham does it again! This book read like a crime podcast and I loved it!

Claire sets out to get answers about her sister’s death but finds alot more than she bargained for. I don’t love when I can see the twists coming. But there was a lot to keep your mind busy with keeping up with the story and each of the missing girls Claire discovers after coming across a diary. You maybe able to see where some of the story is going but there are so many layers for his story there’s no way you would see them all!

Thank you Net Galley & Stacey Willingham for this ARC!

I was kept on my toes while reading this book and trying to figure out who was a murderer. Pacing was a bit wonky but still reading it was enjoyable
