""... But it doesn't mean we stop loving them -- ever. We just keep going and pray for... a change of heart."
"Change of heart," She sighs audibly. "That's what they need."" (ch 9).
The Golden Son, Baldry, is a gladiator. His real name, from his former life, is Jared. In the arena, he fights genetically engineered monsters created by the Grigori, fallen angels. He was once a half-angel, half-human, a nephilim, but somehow lost his powers and most of his memory. His wife, Grace, is dead (or so he believes), and it pains him still. Grace's mother, Shannon, knows of his past and has something up her sleeve.
Supreme Lord of the United Earth, Grigori Zazel (Azazel), is Jared's father. He was supposed to kill him to stop a war, stop him from annihilating Isreal. Jared had failed and has to switch things up and try to stop him through a peace-talks mission.
Grace, still alive, believes Jared is now in league with the enemy. She is part of a rebellion trying to fight against the Grigori and Zazel and the new cure, and all the levels of Hell and havoc they're making of the world with all of the changes.
This book contains a new dystopian fantasy world with Biblical references, giant avatars, a prophecy, holograms, technologically advanced weapons, robots, cloning, fallen angels, demons, singing, and a love tested. Seems like an odd combination, but it works in this story. It's fascinating!
For some reason, I thought this was a standalone, but it's actually book 5 in a continuous series. Oops, that's completely on me for the oversight. After reading this book, I do recommend starting from book 1... So you don't get sheepishly confused about some things and have to fumble around, like I did.

Forever is a heart-pounding conclusion to The Forlorn series, throwing readers straight into the chaos of an apocalyptic showdown. Grace is leading the rebellion, convinced that Jared—now the formidable Baldyr—has turned against her, while Jared fights a war of his own against his fallen angel father. The emotional depth and high stakes had me completely hooked, and I loved how the book balanced intense action with the raw, complicated love between Grace and Jared. If you enjoy dystopian stories with epic battles, star-crossed lovers, and world-ending stakes, this finale delivers in every way.

isten, Forever didn’t just keep me on the edge of my seat—it threw me off it and left me gasping on the floor. Grace is out here fighting for the future of humanity, Jared is stuck in a nightmare battle with his evil angel dad, and oh yeah—the actual end of the world is knocking on the door. The drama? Explosive. The emotions? Gut-wrenching. The action? Non-stop. If you love dystopian chaos, impossible choices, and a love story that refuses to die, Forever is the finale you NEED. Grab it now, and may the apocalypse be ever in your favor. 🔥⚡📖
