** I WAS GIVEN THIS BOOK FOR MY READING PLEASURE **
Copy received through Netgalley

Muted, Vol. 2 is an continuation of the story that evolved in Volume 1. For me, it was much darker and there were ZERO trigger warnings for the content, which is unfortunate, because this is billed as a YA/teen read and there should at least be some warning of what's to come.
TRIGGERS: suicidal thoughts, threat of arranged marriage, self-loathing, parental control, parental emotional abuse, mentions of death and suffering, mentions of violence
For me, the plot was a lot darker than the previous volume, which made this volume feel really heavy and intense. There were very few places to get an emotional breather from the darkness. I appreciated that there was a lot of plot in the story, but it was so heavily focused on violence and pain that it was exhausting to read.
Overall, the plot and characters are good, but there were still issues with the execution:
1) there are still editing issues within the text
2) while the meaning of the title appeared, it wasn't *actually* explained. There was a hint that it might mean taking away Camille's powers, but it was so vague that there's no context for what that really means.
3) Again, I wasn't a fan of the ending. It was sudden and lacked that point of interest that would make
I'll probably read the next volume, but I'm not sure if I'll still feel that way when it's eventually released. I find the plot a little forgettable, to the point where I might not remember why I'm interested when Volume 3 releases.

I received an e-arc of Muted: Volumes 1 and 2 from Netgally in return for a honest review. I read both volumes in one sitting. My rating for Muted: Volume 1 is a 4.25 stars and Volume 2 a 5 star. I will review them as 1, so there will be no spoilers for the second volume.
The artwork is stunning. Some of the images depict very dark themes, so if you are easily triggered it is best to look at trigger warns like, but not limited to, death of family members, abuse, and mental illness (like PTSD, though not clearly stated but shown through character reactions). The story itself is your basic good versus evil and though I think I can easily suss out where the story is headed, it did not take away from my enjoyment of the read. The story is strong enough on its own but coupled with the gorgeous artwork it really comes alive.
Camille's aunt takes her in after a tragic fire leaves her without her mother and twin sister. Quickly we see the effect Camille's aunt has on her mental well being. Where the story shines is in its depiction of Camille finding pieces of herself while finding out who she is and who she wants to be. The dangers she faces, though come from both inside and outside of her own family. It is clear that Camille will have to find the strength she didn't know she had while forging new relationships and learning to trust herself and others. I am not sure when the next installment will be but I will be waiting to see where Camille's story goes.

a beautiful queer (poly sapphic) coming of age story on found family!
one week into her month long visit with aunt sylvia, Camille and Dendro (flower demon) work together on camilles powers slowly growing but still uncontrollable when emotional
when news arrives that athalie has arranged a marriage between camille and a wealthy witch lord to help solve the family banking that her mother had apparently ruined
when avaline closes herself off from camille, camille and nyra venture to new orleans to break avaline out

Thank you to Netgalley for the e-arc of Muted Volume 2. Volume 2 was the perfect continuation following Volume 1. It has everything you want witches, queer relationships, demons(good and bad), plant magic. Truly, this is one of my top series for graphic novels this year. Can't wait to read Volume 3!!

I recieved a digital ARC from NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for review.
The second volume of Muted continues to be a beautifully-illustrated and interesting story. In this volume we learn a bit more about Dendro and also learn more about Avaline’s thoughts and feelings throughout her childhood. Overall this continues to be an excellent story and I can’t wait to read volume 3!

I’m ready for Camille to be rid of her family since that’s don’t appreciate her and only want to use her for her power. Her cousin was especially disappointing as she betrayed her in the end. I can’t wait for volume 3.

Yessssss! I was so excited to get the chance to read the second Muted book. This one delved much more into the lore of the different magic families, and we learn a lot about Camille's past and what actually happened. I loved the magic of this world and all of the character development. Overall, a fantastic read for someone who wants witchy vibes, sapphic romance, and some adorable demons.
Thanks to NetGalley, Miranda Mundt, and Ten Speed Graphic for the chance to read and review. My opinions are my own!

Muted: Volume 2 took the foundation laid in Volume 1 and upped the ante to 100. This volume went to some dark places, dealing with abuse and extremely controlling behavior from a parent. But it handled the victims with care. I loved seeing Camille come into her own strength, both as a person and as a witch. Dendro's story continues to be subplot, but the world and character building done for her was effective this volume. I cannot wait to see where this story goes!

Thank you to netgalley for the advanced copy.
In volume 2 we continue to learn more about Camille and her magic. We also get to learn more about Dendro and the demon following Camille. This is a completely engrossing title, I can't wait to see her grow into the powerful woman I know she is.

I got this as an arc on Netgalley and it will come out in October. I cannot express how obsessed I am with this series. It's a sapphic witchy comic with dark themes and it's just perfectly exquisite. I need more.

This was just as good as the first! We got tons more backstory for Camille and Dendro, and the multiple kinds of conflicts amped up. I just want to hug all the characters, they don’t deserve to be treated so horribly. Can’t wait for the next installment!

The second volume of Muted moves beyond the first season published on Webtoon, following the hybrid witch Camille as she sorts out who she is and how to defy her Severin family traditions with the least pain - for herself and others. Still haunted by a demon possessing another young witch and with a new demon friend in the incomparably adorable flower nymph Dendro, Camille risks life and sanity to try and rescue her cousin. This collection, incorporating through episode 50 of the webseries, shows its roots: the art is lush but the story is slow. While the story beats are few, the characterization deepens with a look back at the horrifying events of Camille’s youth - and we finally get a peek at what it means to be muted.

So often sequels don't hold up to the original but this one does. Mundt kept the tension building and made me care even more for Camille and leaned more about her. This was even more heartbreaking then the first and I just wanted to reach through the pages to give Camille a hug. I can't wait for volume 3 to come out. These are some graphic novels I could see myself revisiting again and again.

I love a graphic novel with a queer storyline and so it was delightful to get ARCs for the Muted releases coming out this year! Both have major self-discovery and found-family vibes. I will definitely want to read more of this series!

As Camille’s powers grow, she learns more about herself, her past, and her newfound friends. Camille struggles with the guilt of leaving her cousin, Avaline, alone with the Matriarch of the Severin family, Athalie. Meanwhile, Athalie continues to plot to limit Camille’s freedom, through guilt, manipulation, or by any means necessary. Family ties are tested, love interests abound, and everyone seems to be out to get Camille.

Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for providing me with an eARC of the second instalment in this series!!
I really enjoyed this book a lot and felt it was a good follow up to the first volume. We definitely get to know more about Camille and her past in this one, which I loved to read about. I love the very cute flirty-ish relationship between Nyra and Camille.
I've heard there's a polyamorous relationship in this series so I can't wait to see who will be added to their relationship, though I have my suspicions about who it may be.
I cannot wait to read the next volume!

I am obsessed with these graphic novels. The illustrations are stunning and the writing is addictive. I read this in under an hour. I’m so glad i got approved for the second one and I hope I get approved for all of them!! I already pre-ordered volumes 1 and 2 haha

After absolutely loving ‘Muted, Volume 1’, I was beyond excited to dive into the second instalment, and it did not disappoint! This volume takes everything that made the first book so compelling - its eerie atmosphere, deep-rooted magic, and complex character dynamics - and develops it even further. The story unfolds beautifully, revealing new details and raising the stakes in ways that kept me completely hooked.

‘Muted, Volume 2’ is an outstanding follow-up that deepens the mystery, strengthens the character arcs, and delivers breathtaking visuals. If you loved the first volume, this one will pull you even further into Camille’s world. A must-read for fans of dark, magical stories with hauntingly beautiful art!

Thanks NetGalley for the ARC.
Muted Vol 2 goes more into the story of Camille. She is learning more about herself, where she came from and what she wants. This volume is getting more into her past and gets darker than the first volume, even the artwork reflects that and is of course stunning like in the first book. I like how Volume 2 answered a few questions I had from Volume 1 about how their magical families worked and a few other little things.

Muted: Volume 2 takes us right back into the story of the Severin family of witches. This volume is definitely darker than volume 1, both in art style and content (tw: grief, survivors guilt, anger, trauma, abuse from family). I really enjoyed this and can’t wait for volume 3 to come out! Highly recommend this series.
Thank you to NetGalley for the opportunity to read Muted: Volume 2.
