I'm here to tell you, yes, read it. It is fabulous. There is a little bit of everything in this story, executed in the best of ways. With storylines that include dealing in antiques, a mysterious disappearance, hidden agendas, and families trying to arrange marriage for ill gotten gains, this story is fast paced, exciting and loads of fun to read. It reminded me why I love the mixed genre of historical mystery and romance.
The characters in this book were so loveable and brought to life by the narration. I truly enjoyed listening to this one and will likely pick up the print version and read it again.

I enjoyed listening to this highly entertaining historical romance/mystery! I thought the narration was performed well and kept my interest throughout the story. An enjoyable listen!

A delightful, historical fiction mystery with bits of romance and comedy.
You will become completely invested in this cozy adventure!
The main characters, humans and animals alike, quickly feel like old friends that you’re rooting for.
Filled with fun twists, meaningful insights, found family, female empowerment, and love.
If you enjoy stories like Enola Holmes, Miss Fisher, Miss Scarlett, or Bridgerton… this is the perfect read to check out next!
The beginning of the book felt a bit slowly paced, but once the scene had been set and the adventure began, the pacing was perfection!
The voice actor does an excellent job in depicting each unique character with the audio production feeling seamless.
The first few chapters, the narrator pacing felt rushed, but quickly settled into a natural rhythm.

An awesome audiobook. The narrator did a great job. I really enjoyed the mystery and there were some funny parts. I look forward to more in this series.

The narrator was a good choice to tell this story.
This story wasn't for me at this time. It wasn't; holding my attention and I lost what was going on. I may give this book another chance at a later time.
I didn't know this was the second in the series and maybe I should read the first to better understand the characters.
Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to listen to this audiobook.

More historical romance! The genre is most certainly not dead! But OUR DEAR MISS H. IS ON THE CASE by Violet Marsh just came out and does have an element of mystery if that’s your jam! The main character is the brains and true author behind scientific and archaeological writings in her cousin Percy’s name, because a girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do in a man’s world. When Percy and her most recent artifact find go missing, she enlists an unlikely ally (enemies to lovers!!!) to help her find him. Highly recommend and it was a great time on audio!

I enjoyed this audiobook SO MUCH! I loved the plot-it felt very original and unpredictable! I also loved the fast-pace of the romance and book itself! the narrator did an incredible job of bringing out each characters personality! and ugh-Alexander is the sweetest and most charming MMC!! loved it!

The book itself was interesting, but there wasn't enough romance for me to consider it a pure romance book. I loved how the FMC was so independent that she had to realize that she could love the MMC while still being herself. I also appreciated that the MMC didn't wallow in his struggles with his club foot and family.
The narration left a lot to be desired. I felt that this would have been much better as a dual narration, since there were many points where the MMC was speaking, it was weird to hear that in a female voice.

Set against the backdrop of 1700s England, this narrative embarks on a whimsical journey to locate a missing person. Georgina Harrison's cousin, Percy, has disappeared along with her archaeological treasure, prompting Georgina to undertake the task of finding him. Assisted by Alexander Lovett, their journey unfolds with unexpected twists, including an unforeseen attraction between them. Midway through the book the mystery of where Percy disappeared to takes a backseat to the developing romance between Georgina and Alexander.
For readers who prefer historical fiction based on stories grounded in strict factual timelines and events, this may not be the ideal choice. However, despite the narrative's occasional ventures into the implausible, it remains highly entertaining. Once I got used to the unusual pacing of the narrative I began to enjoy it more. The story is enriched by a diverse and vibrant cast of characters, many of whom reappear from the series' first installment, "Lady Charlotte Always Gets Her Man." I recommend reading the previous book first, but this book can definitely be enjoyed as a standalone story.
Marisa Calin narrated the audiobook flawlessly. She had a large cast of characters to portray and did an amazing job voicing the many different tones and personalities. She kept the pacing light and fun, just as this story should be told. I highly recommend listening to this audiobook, it is fabulous!
Many thanks to Hachette Audio for providing me with an audiobook of this delightful book through Netgalley. All opinions in this review are my own.

A massive thank you to the publisher and to NetGalley for the opportunity to review this audiobook in exchange for my honest review. I can’t say enough amazing things about this book! Any fan of Manda Collins or Bridgerton or anything along those lines will absolutely adore this book. Georgina is adorable and amazing as is every other member of their little gang. I am really hoping this will be an ongoing series and to hear more about the archeological side of Georgina’s investigations as they definitely take a secondary seat to the rest of the action. Also, the key ideas of consent and the eye towards having a productive and diverse discourse within an older time period is really well done!

My first experience with this author was mixed. This book is a slow-burn romance, filled with intrigue, humor, and lively banter, but some characters, particularly the heroine’s half-brother, the hero's parents and the villains, were, well villains. Miss H. is in the middle of a dastardly plot hatched by her half-brother. I could have done with less pearl clutching and wished for more romance. The mystery got lost in the histrionics and absurd chicken humor. The narration by Marisa Calin was a tad over the top with the angst element at times.
Georgina Harrington only wants to dig for antiquities and write articles, which her cousin has to claim as his own as he is a man. She is quite happy on the shelf until her half-brother decides to marry her off. Then there is the disappearance of her cousin, Percy (her beard). As it turns out Georgina's intended is Percy's best friend Alexander who is heir to a dukedom. His parents are anxious to marry him off too (he has a disability). Georgina and Alexander join forces to find Percy and their search unearths some nasty goings on in the neighborhood.
My thanks to the Publisher and the Author for providing a complimentary audio Advanced Reader Copy (ARC) of this novel via NetGalley. This is my fair, honest and personal review. All opinions are mine alone and were not biased in any way.

I’m sure this would’ve been different if I hadn’t listened to the audiobook, but I wasn’t a fan of this story. I didn’t connect with the characters and couldn’t hold my attention span to the plot. It was hard to get invested.

I completed this book and swirls of British accents, dukes, more romance than mystery and I liked it.
Georgina was a wonderful lady, impressing with her courage and wits.
Alexander was a true gentleman and their working together to reveal the mystery of missing Percy was both funny, exciting and completely romantic.

Thank you to Forever for the advance reader copy and to Hachette Audio for the advance listener copy. These opinions are my own.
Georgina does amazing scholarly research on her archaeological finds. And she lets her cousin Percy take the credit, so she can publish about them. It all works okay until he talks when he shouldn't. And suddenly there are a lot of incorrect rumors about her latest dsicovery, and Percy has gone missing.
This was completely over-the-top, but in a really fun way. I had to suspend disbelief throughout the entire plot. There were coincidences and scenarios that just would never have happened. But take those and add in ridiculous animals, and the whole things was such a delightful romp.
This book puts the comedy way before the historical romance. But it was sweet and featured fun characters, great queer rep, and a wonderful found family that grows with each book in the series. And through it all, it delivers a fairly biting and definitely currently relevant social commentary.
Marisa Calin narrated the audiobook beautifully. I could not put it down.

Georgina Harrington, a secret academic and antiquities scholar, is under the thumb of her awful brother and his wife. She also can't publish her scholarly work under her own name as she is a woman, so she and her cousin Percy have an agreement where she does all the research and writing, and he takes it to the masses. Georgina's brother is set on her marrying, while she is dead set against it. When she makes an important discovery, Percy goes missing, and Georgina's intended, with whom she'd had a previous meeting with, must find Percy while also fighting their feelings for one another.
While I didn't read the first book in this series, it can easily be read as a stand-alone. This was an exciting, funny, and fun jaunt through George I's London. The mystery was fun, the settings exciting, and the romance was perfect. This was my first Violet Marsh book and I liked her writing style and will be reading more of her.

This is my first book I've read by Violet Marsh, and it was an absolute delight. Our Dear Miss H Is On The Case is a wonderful blend of cosy mystery, and regency romance.
Georgina Harrington is an amateur archeologist. She has just found the most important artifact in her career, and entrusts it to cousin Percy. When he goes missing Georgina sets out to find him. She asks Percy's best friend for help. Chaos ensues.
Thank you to Netgalley and Hachette Audio for the advanced listener copy. The narrator Marisa Calin did an amazing job, she kept my interest throughout.
I highly recommend this book, it has wonderful characters, a sweet love story, fun situations and an interesting mystery. This is definitely a 5 star read.

loved the first book in this series and this was also enjoyable, all the side characters and quirks return and it was fun and enjoyable.

Gallop through the English countryside and throughout London as Miss H. searches for her missing cousin and embarks on a grand adventure.
✨ Book Review: OUR DEAR MISS H. IS ON THE CASE by Violet Marsh ✨
Miss Georgina Harrington was once a wallflower and is now considered an old maid without marriage prospects. But she doesn’t care. She carries on her father’s work unearthing antiquities from her family land and publishing her findings (under her cousin’s name). When her cousin goes missing though, everything is upended.
This is a fun Regency-era mystery that’ll keep you guessing and a closed-door romance that delivers great character depth and sizzling tension. There are lots of opportunities to root for the underdog and ample comedic relief.

Violet Marsh's "Our Dear Miss H is on the Case" is a delightful historical romance that builds upon its predecessor, integrating familiar characters to create a sense of continuity. The mystery-driven plot is fast-paced and engaging, with Georgina Harrington's unconventional scholarly pursuits providing a compelling hook.
Alexander Lovett, the Marquess of Heathford, is a highlight, as his character is explored beyond his relationship with his twin. The book also features laugh-out-loud moments, particularly involving rescued roosters, which humorously critique societal norms.
The romance between Georgina and Alexander is tender and well-developed, showcasing Marsh's skill in crafting heartfelt moments. The narration is excellent, with distinct accents adding authenticity to the characters.
Overall, this audiobook is a charming blend of mystery, humor, and romance, leaving listeners eager for the next installment. It's a must-listen for fans of historical romances with adventure and humor. I can't wait for the next one!

Violet Marsh's Our Dear Miss H Is On the Case is a blend of Regency romance and cozy mystery, a perfect treat for fans of both Bridgerton's swoon-worthy drama and Miss Marple's astute sleuthing. Though this is the second installment in the series, I jumped in without reading the first and was immediately captivated by Marsh's vividly drawn world. The introduction to the quirky cast of characters, including the delightful menagerie of animals, was seamless and engaging.
Georgina and Alexander's investigation into her missing cousin Percy and a valuable archaeological find quickly escalates into a more complex web of intrigue, interwoven with a classic Regency marriage plot. Marsh balances the romantic tension between Georgina and Alexander with the unfolding mystery, keeping the reader thoroughly entertained. I listened to an advanced copy of the audiobook, and the narrator's performance brought the Regency era to life with needed inflections and intonations.
Our Dear Miss H Is On the Case is a delightful escape, offering a perfect blend of historical romance, mystery, and a touch of mayhem. If you're seeking a lighthearted and engaging read with a dash of wit and a whole lot of charm, check out this book.
