i LOVED this book SO MUCH! Ah, it was so so so good! I couldn’t stop listening to see where Lena would go! Each man was so different and added so much to the story! The message was so inspiring and the ending was so incredibly satisfying! This is a must read!

This was such a good book. I loved the story and the writing so much. The characters were great and the story flowed smoothly. Will definitely read more books by this author in the future.

Lena Westbrook was wearing a beautiful red sequin dress as she awaited the arrival of her boyfriend. The restaurant was perfect with a violinist playing close by. He comes in late, sats down and reaches in his pocket and pulls out an envelope, not a ring.
Lena is a perfectionist with a type A personality. She is a planner and organizes every part of her life. After breaking up with “envelope guy” her heart is broken, she is confused, hurt and angry. She escapes to her aunt’s home on Bainbridge Island. She needs to heal and re-tune her life. When she wakes up the next morning, she is no longer in the guest house, neither is she on Bainbridge Island. She is in an elegant Parisian flat. She is clothed in lavish silk lingerie. Lying next to her is a sexy, handsome French man … who thinks he is married to Lena.
Each morning Lena is transported to a different place. Each time she is married to a different person and ex or a brief encounter. She sees a glimpse of what her life could have been like if she had made a different decision. What if?????
This is an interesting read. We could all benefit from a few what if moments. As Lena revisits the men of her past, she begins questioning decisions she has made. She becomes attached to some of the men of her past. This tale has its humorous moments.
Thank you NetGalley for the copy for review.

This book was ok. The main issue is that I have read similar stories that did the idea of exploring possible different lives better than I feel this one did. Also the fact that the main character seemed to change to fit the person she was with made it hard to understand who she really is.
Thank you NetGalley and HarperAudio for a copy.

NetGalley + HarperAudio Review
5 stars — I am dramatically unwell over this book in the BEST possible way.
Insignificant Others by Sarah Jio was a total delight—a time loop romance that managed to be surprising, emotional, and fun all at once. I genuinely never knew what was coming next, and that unpredictability made the whole thing feel so fresh and original.
The audiobook? OBSESSED. I flew through it thanks to the amazing narration—huge thanks to HarperAudio and NetGalley for the advance listen! I was fully locked in, gasping mid-sip of my coffee, and whisper-screaming “NO WAY” at least three times.
It’s romantic, it’s twisty, it’s heartwarming with just enough chaos to make me feel like I was living through the time loop myself.
Highly recommend if you’re into:
• Second (and third and fourth) chances
• Romance that messes with time
• Unexpected emotional gut punches wrapped in charm
• Books that feel like a rollercoaster you immediately want to ride again
This one has already been featured on my list of favorite audiobooks this month!!

"What If?". That's the question being asked in "Insignificant Others" by Sarah Jio. When instead of being proposed to, she gets broken up with, Lena Westbrook flees to her aunt's house in search of solace and perhaps a fresh perspective, and does she ever get that! Lena falls asleep in the guest house and wakes up in Paris, France, next to a man who is supposedly her husband.
As Lena falls alseep each night in one bed with one partner but wakes up the next in a whole new situation, Lena explores a series of romantic "what ifs" and also explores the concept that one change, one life, can be very different from the next.
It's been a while since I read a Sarah Jio book but I'm a fan of hers from the early days.of her writing. This story did not disappoint! Entertaining but also thought-provoking, the reader (or listener in my case!) is in for a fun and entertaining ride. I listened to the audiobook version of this and found myself eager to listen on my way home from work each day. The narrator does a great job of differentiating between the various characters voices and she was a pleasure to listen to.
"Insignificant Others" ran a little long towards the end but overall it was a book that also left me to reflect on my own romantic paths not taken. I enjoyed the story overall and the conclusion was what I was hoping for. A fun read, I can definitely recommend this one.

I was a little apprehensive about picking this one up. I enjoy the author's work, but I typically do not enjoy even the slightest foray into anything fantasy. However, I did enjoy this Groundhog Day-esque story.
Lena thought he was going to propose- but he was just giving her Coldplay tickets. And she doesn't even like Coldplay. She runs home to her aunt's house- and wakes up in France- in bed with a man who claims he is her husband. Over the next week or so, every morning she wakes up with a new husband. Someone from her past. Someone who could have been. Did she miss the one? If so, can she fix it?
This makes you think about what could have been. And in Lena's case, I think she could have been happy in most iterations of her life. She had a lot of character growth- helping her see what is actually important in life.
I'm a little miffed by the Irishman's storyline...
Brittany Pressley narrates the audiobook and is great, as always.
I received an advance audio copy in exchange for an honest review.

Insignificant Others, by Sarah Jio, narrated by Brittany Pressley is the perfect melding of character with voice. Pressley was wonderful as Lena, an organized workaholic who likes everything in life to go according to her plan. When that plan gets derailed by the boyfriend Lena expected to become fiance then husband, she returns home to lick her wounds and is thrown into a Groundhog Day-style time loop with all of the past men in her life. Some situations are lovely, others are awful—with plenty of hilarious moments along the way. Definitely entertaining and though-provoking. Loved it! Highly recommend!!

Workaholic Lena has approached love the way she approaches a business deal: logically and with a list of strict criteria to meet. After an unexpected breakup, Lena visits her Aunt Rosie in Seattle to escape her troubles. She falls asleep in the guest house, but the next morning, she wakes up in a different part of the world, married to a man she hadn't seen in years. When the same thing happens the next day, Lena realizes she's stuck in a loop of alternate realities. How will she break free, and what will she learn along the way?
If you've ever thought back to a missed opportunity or an old flame and thought "what if...?" this book is for you! It felt like a crossover between 'The Husbands' and 'The Midnight Library' while still being able to stand alone. This was my first time reading/listening to a book by Sarah Jio, and I really enjoyed it. The audio narration was well done; the narrator did a great job navigating so many different accents! Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an advanced audio copy.

This was a lot of fun. The narration was well done. The idea of spending a day in various possibilities of your life was explored in meaningful ways with insightful conclusions.

Sarah Jio is an author where I'm automatically going to read everything she writes. I have yet to read one of her books and not love it, and Insignificant Others is no exception. I love romance books with time travel/alternate universe plots, so I was really excited to read this book. It was funny, heartwarming, romantic, and the perfect summer read. Without giving anything away, I absolutely love the ending and think that everything was tied up so perfectly at the end. If you haven't discovered Sarah Jio yet, this book is an excellent place to start. I already can't wait for her next one! I received a copy of this book from Netgalley and the publisher in exchange for my honest review.

Narrator: The narrator did a great job bringing the character and story to life. There are a number of characters throughout the story that needed to be voiced and each one had its own.
Story: This is a Groundhog Day story, but different. Each day the main character wakes up with a different partner and gets a small glimpse of what life would be like if she had married each of them. The author gives a diverse group of suitors with a variety of situations.. We also get to see our character wake up in Paris and Ireland, not just the US, and experience those cultures.
The author explores motherhood in a number of ways through this book. Not every relationship involves our character as a mother, but the author includes a number of situations that women face. From step-mom to loss to being a mom, I feel like the author represented all areas of motherhood. I think I understand why this was included in the story, but I think something was missing for the overall connection to the main character.
I liked how the author wrote the ending and it made sense for the story, but it also felt underwhelming.
Overall I enjoyed this story. It If you enjoy Josie Silver or Emily Giffin, you will enjoy this story.
Thank you HarperAudio and NetGalley for the opportunity to listen to this audiobook.

A beautifully layered story full of emotional depth, secrets, and the kind of romantic tension that keeps you flipping pages late into the night.
I was completely swept up in the protagonist’s journey. Jio’s signature blend of past and present timelines made the story feel rich and immersive, and her characters were flawed in all the best, most human ways. The emotional stakes felt real, and I was genuinely torn at several points about what the "right" decision should be.
That said… I have to admit, I was rooting hard for <spoiler>Colm</spoiler>. The chemistry! The tension! The missed chances! I totally respect the ending and see why it went the way it did, but my heart still aches a little for what could have been. <spoiler>Colm</spoiler> deserved his moment!
Still, this book was a beautiful, bittersweet reminder that love isn't always straightforward, and that sometimes the most meaningful connections are the ones we don't see coming. Highly recommend to fans of nuanced, emotional fiction with a dash of romantic yearning.

Thank you to Harper Collins, Harper Audio, NetGalley, and Sarah Jio for the gifted audiobook. If you love magical realism, I’d definitely add this one to your TBR! The audiobook is fantastic and the narrator truly brought this story to life. Have you ever wondered “what if?” Our main character, Lena gets stuck in a time loop. Everyday she wakes up with a new person from her past and explores what her life could have been like under different sets of circumstances. This was such an addictive read, and I loved experiencing each new place/relationship. The relationship w/ her best friend was perfection and was pretty much the one constant in every reality! I do wish there were maybe a few less realities so we could have spent a little more time with each partner, but overall this was such a great read.
“I’ve been on auto pilot for so long that I failed to notice the scenery along the way and experience the good things that come when you go off course.”

This book was so interesting??? I did not expect what these pages held and hearing it on audio was so cool!

This book will take you many places through magical realism. If you enjoy time-travel romance books you will enjoy this one. We follow Lena as she answers, what if?
Something that I did not like about the story was how many parts there were. The ending lacked and there were some lessons that did not feel needed. It was overall easy to follow despite the constant changes that happen. It was an enjoyable read and I did not know what was going to happen next.
The narrator did such a good job bringing this story to life!
I highly recommend this book and would consider this a must-listen! Thank you, NetGalley, HarperAudio, and Sarah Jio for this ALC in exchange for an honest review.

This was such a fun read! This book was an interesting take on the what if of relationships. Kind of like the movie 50 First Dates but each day was a new relationship in a new place and a new life. It was fun to follow Lena through her past loves and ones that got away.
There were so many profound lessons and moments that Lena learns through her experiences. Not only about her relationship wants and needs but about who she wants to be as a person.
Sometimes as a romance reader it’s hard to be shocked in this genre but this book pleasantly surprised me!

Ah! This book was so good! Sarah Jio does an excellent job writing this novel about the "what if" relationships.
I am not a fan of fantasy, but I adored this book that explored so many different possibilities when it comes to love. In addition to exploring the "insignificant others", the main character, Lena, realizes that her priorities may not align with her true desires.
Lena learns what actually matters most to her as she travels through each insignificant other. Lena might just discover that while it is great to be driven, that path may not make you the happiest, most satisfied that you can be.
Brittany Pressley does an excellent job with narration.
Thoroughly an enjoyable listen.
Thank you to NetGalley and HarperAudio Adult for this advance listen in exchange for my honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This was a very easy and quick read about a woman stuck in a time loop after realizing her life is not going the way she planned. I really enjoyed all of the different stories and the way that Lena realized what it was that she wanted out of her life and what was important to her. I wanted a little more at the end, but thoroughly enjoyed it!

thank you for allowing me to listen to this one!!
audio 10/10! narrator did a perfect job bringing the FMC to life
story 3/5
i think my main grievance towards this book was that it was a bit all over the place. the FMC didn't really have any redeeming qualities about her and i found her very annoying at times. the synposis is super intriguing...i just think the execution was a tad lacking. why did we get entire chapters of guys she had a brief run-in with and weren't even a boyfriend? i think the characters didn't have enough of a distinct voice because there were too many "guys" and therefore it took you out of the story.
i LOVE a good time loop story (the good part by cousens is one of my very favorite books) so i was excited to read this one! the FMC was insufferable. immature for most of the book and i couldn't get past that. I mean...even if you don't have kids...you KNOW babies can't have frappacinos??? i'm all for a book centered around self-discovery but this one ultimately lacked substance.
again, the audio was great! i highly recommend that format if someone picks this one up
read if you like:
