This was a fun light read, even with the plane crash event. The book maintains a more PG rated love story with light romance, no graphic descriptions or scenes. Crash Landing is the first book I’ve read by this author and I would likely read another book by her in the future. This is second-chance romance with a lot of backstory and history with their story. Thanks for the fun read.

I didn't know how I would like this movie since the triop of crashing on an island isn't always for me, but I actually kliked it and the two leads and the second chance nature gave the island trap a little more realness. I listened to the audio book which was good.

Quick grab your beach bag (with all its provisions), a drink with a cute little umbrella, put your toes in the sand, your tush in a beach chair, soak up the sun and don't move until you've enjoyed every word of Harper and Wyatt's unfinished love story.
Crash landing is a quick love story you'll pick up and read in a sitting. It's perfect for your girl's weekend flight or that family vacation read where you just need five minutes and you end up with an hour enjoying blissful you time.
Soak up this southern, love-at-last love story, and let the feelings of summer take flight.

I feel like adventure or survival romance is everywhere right now and I am here for it! In Crash Landing, exes Piper and Wyatt crash on a deserted island. There are literal survival moments and thank god for tropical fruit. I love the mix of action with romance and I absolutely couldn’t stop reading it until I knew what happened.
It’s also a great second chance romance and I enjoyed the flashbacks to their high school love and heartbreak. Wyatt was truly a stand up guy and I loved him. I also enjoyed Piper figuring out some things for herself along this journey.
My only issue is the goofy third act “break up”. I didn’t really get it and didn’t think it was necessary. But, that definitely didn’t take away from my enjoyment. It is written in third person, but since I listened I don’t think I minded as much as I usually do.

Crash Landing was a great adventure romance for anyone who loves a happy ending! I'm a sucker for childhood friends to enemies to lovers, and this story had my heart breaking then swooning the next moment. The setting was fantastic, and the stakes were high! Was definitely on the edge of my seat.

Crash Landing by Annie McQuaid was such an engaging and heartfelt read—I genuinely loved the characters and the emotional depth of the story. Piper and Wyatt felt incredibly real, and I was immediately pulled into their chemistry and complicated history. The dual timeline worked so well, slowly revealing the layers of their past relationship while raising the stakes in the present. I especially appreciated how their connection evolved throughout the book; it never felt rushed, just raw and authentic.
The survival element added a fun twist to the second-chance romance, and the island setting made everything feel more intense and intimate. I found myself rooting for both characters, not just as a couple but individually as they faced their own personal growth. The mix of tension, emotion, and a few well-placed lighter moments made this such a satisfying read. I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for whatever Annie McQuaid writes next!

This has been a delightful story of reconnecting and moving past old wounds into the future. Piper and Wyatt were high school sweethearts. Everything seemed like it was going to be perfect so long as they were together, until one moment changes everything. Years later Piper is on her way to her best friends wedding. However, fate had other plans. When her flight gets canceled and has no other options, Wyatt pops up witu the perfect solution, fly with him to the wedding. With no other options and not wanting to miss such an important moment in her friends life, she swallows her hurt and anger at Wyatt and takes him up on his offer. Everything seems like it'll work out, but again, fate intervenes. Instead of lounging at a resort celebrating the love of her friend, she's lounging on an island with Wyatt surviving until they can be rescued. They have a lot of time to talk about the past and what happened between them. Walls come down and truths are revealed that leave the past raw and open. Time seems to stand still until rescue seems imminent. With Wyatt down it is up to Piper to flag the helicopter and get them back home. Once treated and given the all clear, distance seems to grow between the two until Piper decides that Wyatt is the only one she can see a future with. Self sacrificing characters get me because i hate that they suffer so much in the name of doing what they think is right. There was so much angst, heartache, self reflection, and healing in this book. It was all wrapped in a nice little bow which I can appreciate. Overall, this book was fantastic. I devoured in a day. I look forward to more books by this author!

Happy pub week to Crash Landing by Annie McQuaid. I’m so grateful to HarperAudio (@harpercollins) for an ALC of this friends-to-lovers-to-enemies-to-lovers dual timeline romance. This one comes out tomorrow!
Piper Adams has played it safe ever since Wyatt, a childhood friend, broke her heart. Since then, she’s been building a life for herself where she won’t get hurt. And she tells herself she’s over Wyatt. But when she runs into him at the airport at the gate to the same canceled flight to her best friend’s (and Wyatt’s cousin) destination wedding, she isn’t so sure. After years in the military, he knows someone who can loan him a private plane and he offers Piper a ride. When the weather turns, they crash land with almost no supplies but plenty of time to figure out what went wrong between them. And as more and more days pass, it’s unclear whether anyone will find them.
This one is full of fun tropes and anyone who loves a stranded island location (think Blue Lagoon with adults) will enjoy the survival and romance on the island aspect of the story. Wyatt is—for the most part—pretty dreamy. And his backstory definitely pulled on my heartstrings. It was interesting to see how their past romance fell apart in the past timeline. By the time everything was revealed, I had pretty much guessed what happened, but it was still heartbreaking. Ultimately I liked the first half of this one more than the second. I had trouble with a lot of the decisions they both made in the final act—although more Piper than Wyatt, and there were a lot of issues that cropped up that weren’t entirely believable and seemed like they were just there to add tension. Still, I think readers looking for a sweet second chance romance with pretty straight-forward characters might enjoy this one if they’re willing to suspend their disbelief along the way.
Emma Love did a great job with the audiobook. I enjoyed her portrayal of Piper and she definitely captured the yearning in the past timeline that comes with first love and pining for a friend. If this one sounds up your alley, I’d definitely recommend the audiobook.

Loved this book! It tells a story of two friends to lovers to enemies to being stuck on an island together. I love the backstory and the love of books that these main characters have. I always enjoy a book when the characters are smart and like books. I can't believe this is Annie McQuaid's first romance novel. I would for sure read more that she writes. Hopefully soon, even though I know this books is just coming out.

Thank you to #NetGalley and for a free reading copy of this book. Very well written and paced well. Four stars!

This book totally took me by surprise! I wasn't expecting such a well-crafted second chance romance from a debut author, but this book was so fantastic! I loved how the story was balanced between flashbacks of their budding love as teens and their current predicament on the island. I also loved that the island survival aspects felt really authentic and well-researched. I felt like this book was just an all-around joy to read!
I can't wait to see what this author does next. I expect big things after a debut this fun!

I loved this second chance enemies to lovers romance and listening to the audiobook made it an amazing experience. Piper and Wyatt are exes that wind up as survivors on a deserted island and have to rely on each other for support and sustenance. The way they gradually learned to trust again on the island made for a very entertaining read, and the conflicts that coming home brought their fragile relationship was frustrating. Fortunately they find their way and it's a beautiful thing.

This was so fun and fresh! I love the close proximity trope and add in fighting for survival and it's chefs kiss perfection. The banter was amazing too. Anyone who wants a romcom with a slight thrill aspect, this is exactly what you are looking for.

I like the unique setup for this one, being stranded with your ex on a desert island. And I enjoyed the flashback chapters, seeing how their relationship developed and fell apart in the first place. Overall, it was a sweet, emotional romance that I'll be recommending to customers.

I really enjoyed this second chance, forced proximity, debut romance that sees Piper and Wyatt, two former high school lovers trapped on an island together when their plane crashes. Thwarted in the past by her parent's interference in the past, Piper didn't realize why Wyatt gave up on them before but with nothing to do but talk and grow closer while on the island fighting to survive, things get heated quickly. While there was a big miscommunication plot and lots of insecurities, this was still an enjoyable read that was good on audio and perfect for fans of survival romance stories like Beth O'Leary's Swept away. Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an early digital and audio copy in exchange for my honest review!
