Huntress Moon is the first book in The Huntress/FBI Thriller series. FBI Special Agent Matthew Roarke is closing in on a major criminal organization when his undercover agent is killed in front of him. It is made to look like an accident, but something bothers Roarke. He searches for other deaths that involved a woman dressed in a certain way and finds two more, one in Utah and one in Oregon. He and his right hand man, Damian Epps, head off to get more information about those cases. Meanwhile, in California, a recently divorced father and his young son come across a woman on the beach and the young boy is immediately attracted to her. They form a bond and she hides out with the family. Roarke continues to search and eventually closes in on "The Huntress". The problem is, she has been killing men who have done terrible things to women. Will he turn her in if he catches her?

This was an interesting story. You have a young woman who is trying to right wrongs, killing those responsible for some heinous crimes. Roarke and his team are tasked to bring criminals to justice, but when he gets the history of this young woman, he feels for her. I really like the Matthew Roarke character. He seems to have amazing intuition, almost like extra sensory perception, and uses it to find clues and fit together what they know. He is having a moral dilemma, will he arrest her, or let her continue to get rid of despicable characters. Epps doesn't seem to have the same issue, he is all set to arrest her, but Roarke keeps some information secret. There are several twists in this story and a lot of things that made me think about what I would do in that situation. I enjoyed the relationship between The Huntress and the little boy, they really understood each other. This was a book that kept me reading quickly and I am ready to start the next book to find out what happens next.

Sokoloff's brings the reader into the manhunt right from the beginning. As a reader you are invested in the book in order to solve the mystery.

FBI special agent Matthew Roarke witnessed the death of an undercover agent. A woman that was nearby at the time caught his attention. He's convinced she had a hand in the death. His follow up investigation will prove there is much more to this woman.
Our "heroine" has a special ability that causes her to act the way she does. That doesn't mean anyone will ever understand or forgive her.
A very exciting thriller that is the first in a series. I may be late to reading this, but I will definitely be reading the rest. I couldn't help rooting for her.
Exciting reading.

Don’t know why I took so long to start reading this book. Fabulous read that kept me gripped from start to finish. A new must read series for me

(I received a free copy of this book from Net Galley in exchange for an honest review.)

FBI Special Agent Matthew Roarke is closing in on a bust of a major criminal organization in San Francisco when he witnesses an undercover member of his team killed right in front of him on a busy street, an accident Roarke can’t believe is coincidental. His suspicions put him on the trail of a mysterious young woman who appears to have been present at each scene of a years-long string of “accidents” and murders, and who may well be that most rare of killers: a female serial.
Roarke’s hunt for her takes him across three states, while in a small coastal town, a young father and his five-year old son, both wounded from a recent divorce, encounter a lost and compelling young woman on the beach and strike up an unlikely friendship without realizing how deadly she may be.
As Roarke uncovers the shocking truth of her background, he realizes she is on a mission of her own, and must race to capture her before more blood is shed.

As a concept, this story sounded quite intriguing. A revenge serial killer being chased down by the FBI. Okay, it doesn't sound that exciting when I write it down...

In fact, the whole story wasn't very exciting - considering it was billed as a thriller. It probably would have been better to be described as a 'mystery.'

What was worse was the offensive attitudes characters had in this book - from the racism to the misogyny to the shaming of certain people, I just found this to be a bit of a disappointment.

Would I read more? Yeah, I will give it another go and see if it improves as a series.

What a THRILL ride! Sokoloff's brings the reader into the story from the beginnning. The reader is taken from knowing to complete shock as the book unwinds. You are in a manhunt to find a killer with a story that makes it hard to put the book down until you find out who did it by the end of the book. If you need a thrill and great book for those summer days at the beach! Here Ya GO!
