Best friend's brother, secret crush and forced proximity is totally my jam. We have Juniper and Avery working at Avery's dad's advertising firm along side Beau who is Avery's brother. Not only do they work together but Beau is also temporarily their next door neighbor.

The story centers on Juniper messaging Beau on their potential client's app to help warn Beau of his office nemesis plans. They continue to chat, Juniper anonymously and it starts getting flirtatious.

The banter is so good and the story so much fun. Avery was a bit vapid and privileged for me but she had a heart of gold.

C.J. Bloom and Alexander Cendese did a great job bringing all the humor to life.

Thank you @dreamscape_media for a copy of the audiobook.

Audiobook Review

Juniper Perry has been crushing on the guy with the easy smile, warm brown eyes, and charismatic charm. He’s all the perfect things. We work together. I’m a lowly intern, and he’s a high-powered executive. And to top it all off, he’s my best friend’s older brother.

“Best friend’s brother to lover” and “workplace romance” are some of the tropes for this book. I haven’t read Max Monroe before, and after reading this book, I will have to look into her catalog. I enjoyed this book and the storyline.

The audiobook is dual narration, and I loved it! I couldn’t stop listening to this book; I just love a good duet narration. Both narrators did a good job telling the story. It was easy to listen to and understand. I listened at 2x speed.

Thank you, Netgellay, and Dreamscape Media for the audiobook in exchange for my honest review.

First of all this book was everything! I’m a big Max Monroe fan love their writing! But as far as the audio goes freaking spot on! CJ Bloom is my fav female narrator and I feel like she just being everything she reads turns to good! So as far as the audio goes like 10 damn ⭐️ from me!!!

This story tho. So much emotion. I love Juniper and Beau’s relationship. Friends to lovers is always a fav of mine but this one had some hurdles along the way!!! It’s a great read. Highly recommend!

**Review of *Meet Me at Midnight* by Max Monroe - 4⭐️**

*Meet Me at Midnight* by Max Monroe is a delightful, easy-to-read romance that offers just the right balance of sweetness and spice. The story follows Juniper Perry, who’s been harboring a crush on her best friend’s older brother, Beau Banks, since she was thirteen. A decade later, the two find themselves working at the same company, and Beau has also moved in next door to Juniper, adding an extra layer of tension to their dynamic.

The romance kicks off when Juniper, needing to get Beau’s attention about a work-related issue, decides to message him anonymously through an app. The slow-burn buildup, combined with their undeniable chemistry, makes this book both light and engaging.

The dual audiobook narration (male/female) adds depth to the experience, with each character's perspective coming to life through the distinct voices of the narrators. This format really enhances the emotional connection between the listener and the characters.

Overall, *Meet Me at Midnight* is a great palate cleanser romance. It’s light, cute, and filled with likeable characters who make for an enjoyable escape. If you’re looking for a quick read with a happy ending and a bit of spice, this one definitely hits the mark.

A big thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for providing the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

3.5⭐️
Meet me at Midnight was a low pressure fluffy read that hit the spot after some heavier books. Max and Monroe always showcase a standard for seamlessly writing together to have 1 voice, something that not all dual authors, even popular ones, have mastered.

Than being said, I struggled listening to the audiobook. It was a duel cast endeavor which I love however, it sounded completely disjointed as it was clear that the male and female narrator recorded separately. Now that’s usually the case but it’s not usually something you could tell. The sound quality was completely different from the two narrators. At first I thought an intentional sound effect was being put on the males recording. It reminded me of dramatic audio when someone is on the telephone. Like the male narrator was literally telephoning in his piece. It was a shame because the actors themselves did a good job respectively.

In addition while it was not a problem for me as I usually complain of how slow the audio is recorded, I was surprised at just how fast, particularly CJ Bloom, was speaking as it was much faster than typical for 1x speed.

As far as the prose. I enjoyed it over all but one turn off is the incessant pop culture references and trendy language used. It just comes off as lazy and banal. Many won’t like it at all. I got through it but it was a turn off and took you out of the story.

The book comes out March 4th 2025 so it’s just around the corner!

I am thankful to have gotten the audio ALC for free from Dreamscape Media through NetGalley to read which gave me the opportunity to voluntarily leave a review.

My rating system since GoodReads doesn’t have partial stars and I rarely round up.

⭐️ Hated it
⭐️⭐️ Had a lot of trouble, prose issues, really not my cup of tea (potentially DNF’d or thought about it)
⭐️⭐️⭐️ Meh, it was an ok read but nothing special
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Really enjoyed it! Would recommend to others
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Outstanding! Will circle back and read again

This fun romance is full of surprises and I enjoyed them all. June and Beau already have a close relationship as his sister is June's best friend. I loved the way Beau's family stepped in to fill the void created by June's own parents. The fact that June has had a crush on him since they were young pushes her to get to know him in a different way as his mystery woman. They communicate over an app and things get a little spicy as they grow closer and their messages heat up. The banter between them is so fun and I love the humor that this author(s) always puts into their characters and their storylines. Another hit for Max Monroe and another delightful escape for me, which was needed after this crazy week. The audiobook is very well done and a great way to enjoy this novel!

3.5 rounded up. I was choking on air laughing from the first chapter. It was cute and predictable in the way most romances are. Check this out if you love a best friends brother romance.

Narrators did a good job bringing the story to life.

Quick Summary: A forbidden romance

My Review: Meet Me at Midnight by Max Monroe was released in 2024. The audiobook is scheduled for release on 3/4/25.

About the Book: "How good are you at keeping a secret?"

Juni Perry has had a longstanding crush on her best friend's brother since she was a little girl. She has done her best to move past it, but it never seems to stick. When she gets the opportunity to intern at the PR firm he works at, she finds herself in quite the predicament. What starts out as an innocent undercover means to help him ends up turning into something she could never have imagined.

About the Audiobook: This novel was narrated by C.J. Bloom and Alexander Cendese. Oh my goodness, this was hilarious and sexy. I was entertained the entire time.

Final Say on ALC: I confess that the audiobook won me over. The story was a big bahaha-ahhh. I knew the audio would make this story come to life, which is why I HAD to take a listen. This will be a read on repeat romance. Thank you very much!!!

Other: Although this was not listed as a series, it's obvious that something more is coming. Henry and Avery's story is a must read. It will be fun to see how these two come together. Surely, they must! "Let the games begin!"

“My boss has been a cat for a full three minutes, and I’m starting to wonder if the zoom app will ever be pussy-free again .”

“Does she love her kids? Does she never stop?” Love the Reba reference perfect comedic timing

“ThunderStruck has entered the chat.” 🍆🍩

I adore Max Monroe books. The chemistry between the characters, the drama, the spice, the sexual tension, the witty banter…it’s everything I need in a romcom. I could seriously go on and on.

This one sucked me in immediately and I was totally invested in Juniper and Beau from start to finish. It has a fast yet even pacing and I had the hardest time putting this book down.

Here are some things to expect in this one…

🌃Miami Club Scene
🌜Party Girl / Fiercely loyal bestie
🌃Best friends older brother romance
🌜Workplace romance
🌃Secret admirer (1 sided)
🌜Secret Romance
🌃Found family
🌜Vile Ex and Ex Bestie

I’ll read anything that the dynamic Max Monroe duo writes!

This book has secured its spot in my top all time top fav romcom elite. My other top fav is Christina Lauren’s Dating You / Hating You. I’m not much of a re-reader but for my top elite fav romcoms, I would totally reread them.

Also this one has me holding on to hope for an Avery / Henry sequel.
