"Perfect husband or perfect liar?"

My Loving Husband by Sheryl Browne is a tense thriller full of secrets, deception and lies and asks the question of how well do you truly know your loved ones?

Maddie and Cole are a successful married couple with three children. Maddie is a nurse and Cole is a highly respected surgeon. Maddie has some concerns about her fragile relationship... Cole is almost never home, he is spending more and more time at work and even spending the night at the hospital. When he is home he is distracted, easy to anger and just is not himself. But when Maddie receives a message saying "Your husband is planning to kill you", Maddie must figure out what happened to her once perfect life.

Oh man!! At first I thought that this was just another popcorn thriller about an affair but holy I was wrong!! This is definitely a dark and tension filled thriller that grabbed my attention and did not let go! The way Browne writes is concise and gripping and her strong character development is top notch. I definitely recommend this one for any thriller reader who loves their books filled with drama, lies and twists!

Thank you to NetGalley, Sheryl Browne, and Bookouture for this ARC!! Publication date is April 7th 2025.

Man I love a good twisty suspense book. I feel like I read so much that it takes a lot to fool me but Her Living Husband…it got me lol What I really liked about this book was that it has several different elements of mystery from beginning to end that could’ve made up a book all by itself. If you’re looking for a good family drama, deception and lies, cheating scandal, murder and drugs….this book is perfect for you.
Maddie has a very happy but heretic life with her husband and three children. She’s a nurse and her husband Cole is a surgeon and their love is all she needs. I mean things aren’t all hot and spicy anymore but that happens to couples overtime and Cole is never home, always late night shifts and emergency surgeries to attend to. Nothing can rock their world…but then the text messages start.
Maddie starts to get messages warning her that Cole is having an affair. Cole of course denies it but as the days and weeks go by the texts become dangerous. The person warns Maddie that Cole intends on killing her. With the help of her older daughter Ellie Maddie will get to the bottom of the messages and find out if there’s truth to the messages or if someone has it out for her.

Sheryl is an amazing writer, how she put this gem together is anyone’s guess.
There’s so much packed into this book that I literally did not put it down, start to finish.
The book is told from 5 perspectives. We meet Maddie, Cole, Ellie, Alex and Kelsey. Each have their part in the story, each have their secrets.
Maddie is a loving wife to Cole a surgeon, their daughter Maddie is 17 and their 6 year old twin boys all live in a lovely house, however their lives are disconnected from each other. Maddie’s best friend Kelsey plays her part in supporting her, but why?
Alex has known the couple since they got together. In fact he was Maddie’s ex, before she got with Cole.
One sentiment grabbed me totally and that was: ‘ Looking sick to his soul.’
Dive into this five star read with its mysterious messages, twists and turns, who can you trust? It’s certainly not Luke Wainright.

This was an entertaining popcorn thriller. It kept me engaged throughout even though I figured who done it pretty early on. Definitely recommend if you like domestic thrillers with lots of twists.

This was such an intense and suspensful novel, it had me gripped all the way through especially when I was unsure of who to trust.

I didn’t love this one. It was too long and tedious. I started to get bored but plowed through to the end. I tired of hearing Maddie wondering if she could trust her husband Cole. I feel like many plot devices were added just to make more twists and turns in the story. It was improbable that Alex still longed for Maddie and Kelsey still longed for Cole. What are the chances? Why would they all still work together? Much too convenient. The twist with Alex and Ellie seemed forced and added just to stir things up. The part with Cole’s parents was unnecessary. The ending was terrible and didn’t tie up the loose ends at all. Thank you to Bookouture and NetGalley for the ARC.

This was an interesting mystery with lots of twists and surprises. It was about a nurse and her neurosurgeon husband. Was he a cheater like his dad? Who is the person sending the wife creepy messages? The author does a great job of developing each character, I feel like I really got to know them. You could feel the emotions of each character.
I look forward to reading more from this author.

My thanks to Bookouture and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read ‘Her Loving Husband’ written by Sheryl Browne in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

Maddie receives an anonymous message saying that her husband Cole, a highly regarded neurosurgeon, is lying and for her to be careful. She’s always trusted Cole throughout their eighteen-year marriage but when she gets phone calls on their landline telling her that he’s having an affair she starts wondering if she actually knows her husband at all.

‘My Loving Husband’ is a thriller in every sense of the word and is so gripping that I couldn’t put it down. It has an ingenious plot that’s full of drama, intrigue, suspense and twists and turns, with tension that increases the further I’ve got. I was so determined to discover who was telling the truth that I’ve been reading continuously throughout the day unable to stop. I always enjoy reading the latest thriller from Sheryl Browne but this one has to be one of her best especially as the conclusion has left me gasping at the events in the final pages. It’s a wonderful thriller that I’ve thoroughly enjoyed and that’s deserving of five stars and more.

My Loving Husband!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

This book had it all: family drama, best friend drama, medical drama, secrets and more.

It all starts with a TEXT MESSAGE: “Your husband is planning to kill you…”

This would have freaked me out. And they only got worse. The text messages drove the story in a unique way. Not everything you read is true.

I really thought I had it figured out ….but NOPE!!! Such a great well rounded book with twist after twist!

Highly recommend this book.

The book is well-written and easy to read—it hooks you from the start. The storyline feels realistic and makes you question who you can truly trust… if anyone at all. This is more than just a thriller—it’s a chilling exploration of trust, identity, and the dark corners of relationships.

I take a sip of coffee as I plan my day. My surgeon husband, Cole, slept at work that night, so I had to get the kids ready on my own, again. I can't complain, though, I've loved him since we met, long before he became a famous surgeon and the papers started calling him the pride of the hospital. Our latest family photo hangs on the kitchen wall and I remember that day so clearly. Cole screamed at me over nothing, then apologised saying he was stressed at work. My heart pounded with fear. My phone busses with a message - You might think what you know what to do next, but you'll be wrong, because Cole isn't the most dangerous person in this family.

Someone is out to put Cole in a bad light, and Maddie is starting to question everything Cole tells her. You don't know who you can trust.

This is a gripping psychological thriller. I was pulled in before the end of the first chapter, it was such an easy book to read. The characters are well-developed. Secrets are revealed. I loved how this story ended.

This had me gripped from the beginning! The book was written so well and the story was great. I loved all the characters and I liked that you see from all points of view. As with all physiological thrillers the middle gives a little and then bam the ending gets you in a twist!!! Highly recommend reading to anyone

In "My Loving Husband," secrets and deception create a whirlwind of tension that leaves readers on edge. The story revolves around Maddie and Cole, a married couple facing the strains of busy careers and family life. Maddie, a nurse, feels a growing distance from her husband, Cole, a surgeon, particularly regarding his suspicious relationship with a co-worker. Just when she thinks things can't get worse, she receives a shocking call warning her that her husband might be planning to kill her!

This book is packed with drama and unexpected twists that kept me turning pages. The characters are complex, with some gaining my trust while others made me question their intentions. I loved how my opinions about each character shifted as the plot unfolded, making the reading experience even more thrilling. This is the first book I have read from this author and I can't wait to read more from her in the future. Big thanks to NetGalley for the opportunity to review this gripping read!
