I don't think that I can describe the emotions I've felt when I read this book. To me, this woman is a superhero and deserves a round of applause. She has so much strength and I respect her so very much! While I don't have any kids but I hope to one day and this book has showed me that mother's really are their family's backbone!

This is one beautiful, emotionally charged and very much needed book. A story of a tough motherhood (being a mother of three, two of whom are autistic) and a messy life, the story that is said with both tears and laughter, is full of thankfulness for the unique, hard and for all of it worthy way of growth.
This has completely touched my heart and uplifted it, too.

Sarah Parshall Perry was an uptight young lawyer of strong self-control (and tendency to control the others, too), when she married an extrovert husband. And if this is not enough - two of her beloved children are on the different spectrum of autistm, too. So I don´t think one can compare notes with her on the different ways of how to be embarrassed publicly! Or how to be hurt, tired of trying.
But being all of that, Sarah is also warm, loving, fun and humble. And very, very authentic and relatable! She tells the story of her family with enthusiasm, honesty and all-coloring love for her unique children, whom she (rightly) recognizes as gifts.
Yet she is not sugar-coating! Life was (and is) often harder than her capabilities are. Her heart has been broken several times. Yet - she is thankful. This is enormous wisdom coming from suffereing, truth and grace.
I was humbled and enriched while laughing, crying and thinking. Such a soul is so so attractive!

Recommended read for anyone with difficulties in life - which is every one of us.
