THIS WAS REALLY HARDFOR ME TO GET INTO. THE MANY POV'S HAD ME SO CONFUSED! OVERALL THIS WAS A GREAT BOOK AND I WOULD DEFANTIALY RECOMMEND IT!

Thank you so much NetGalley for letting me listen to The Webs You Weave! I thoroughly enjoyed this one! The twists and turns were great! Had my mind thinking one way but in the end it went another. I just love when a book can prove me wrong lol. This was my first book by this author but definitely will not be my last!

This book took me a while to get into. The pacing for the first half is very slow, and it felt like not much was happening... more like a prolonged setup than a developing thriller. It wasn’t until about the two-thirds mark that the story began to pick up, with one particular moment at the end of Chapter 62 finally sparking the kind of tension I had been waiting for.
After that point, the story becomes more engaging, though somewhat predictable. I found myself anticipating many of the plot developments, but there were still a few surprises that stood out, especially the reveal of the person who supports Meg towards the end.
In terms of characters, the early narrative presents Meg as the difficult one, while Cole appears sympathetic. But the deeper you go, the more complex their dynamic becomes. Cole clearly has deeper issues of his own and he is not a good persona at all, and by the end, it’s clear both characters need a lot of therapy.
Meghan isn’t an unreliable narrator, but she is emotionally raw, and the story is shaped strongly by her mental and emotional state. That perspective can be intense but occasionally distancing.
Final thoughts: If you enjoy slow-burn psychological stories centered on fractured relationships and emotional tension, this may be for you. It requires patience, but the final third delivers a more compelling experience.
🎧 The narration was solid and steady, helping to carry the story during slower sections.
This review reflects my honest opinion based on an ARC provided through NetGalley.

Thank you to Netgally and Red Raven Publishing for giving me the opportunity to read Shade Owens' book The Webs You Weave.
Megan knows her husband is cheating on her, but Cole tells her she is paranoid. Megan questions herself as she has a traumatic brain injury. The longer Cole spends late night at the offices, Megan knows she is not going crazy. How far will Megan go to prove she is not wrong.

This book started off well and grabbed my attention from the start. I felt it dragged a bit in the middle and became quite repetitive. It was a quick easy read

This one has you asking ‘what the heck am I reading’ right from the get-go!
Meghan and Cole are married…for many years.
Meghan was a dentist, but a horrific accident has left her scarred and damaged…and post TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury).
She lost the use of her arm, and, her face is disfigured as well.
Cole, her husband, works in a firm with a high paying salary and male chauvinists as bosses… but he’s right up there with them. He seems to go through MANY assistants per year! But…why??
The picture of them that’s painted seems just perfect! Until the edges start to fray…. And reality peeks in…
He says she’s delusional and psychotic.
She says he’s a serial cheater.
Who should we believe? If anyone????
And, they have a daughter, Hazel, who is a teenager… So, like most teenagers, she has her own agenda…
The book spits out little nuggets of information as you go along. Some you’ll take in stride. Others, well those will just floor you!!! 😮😮
Also, you’ll be wondering just WHO to believe throughout the book! (At least, I was!!)
Many of the twists will leave your jaw hanging on the floor… 🫣
Some will just leave you shocked and paralyzed!
Happy that I was able to pick out ONE of the many, for what it was, pretty early on… But don’t get me wrong. I still kept questioning my reasoning! But I was correct!
And, in the end…well, I NEVER saw that coming!
Oh, and make sure you read right up til the last page! Again, my head was spinning!
On a happy note, there is Ziggy, the sweet dog! 🐶 🐕
Crazy! Crazy! Crazy! But I loved it!!
#TheWebsYouWeave by #ShadeOwens and narrated nicely by #KadenCatalina and #JadeParker.
4 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for me!!!

The book was ok, it has some twists and turns the character is a bit arrogant and I can't stand people like that. The narrator is hard to understand at times.. Not to bad a book but also not the greatest due to the narrator.

This was a very interesting read. It reminded me slightly of The Last Mrs. Parrish, but the twists were a bit different. In this book, Meghan and Hazel are forced to deal with the consequenes of Cole's actions. There were some moments that got a bit confusing, but over all I thought it was a good thriller! Each of the side characters were important in their own respective ways. I knew after a while that one of the side characters would be a key factor in the story, but I didn't realize who it would be until closer towards the end. The narrators also did a great job with their respective characters and I felt portrayed their emotions perfectly.

I listened to this book over the weekend and I enjoyed it from the start.
I found it very fast paced, and there were so many twists and turns that I didn't want to stop listening.
I am quite new to audiobooks, but I really enjoyed the narration - my only grumble regarding the narration is that I couldn't understand what was being said when the voice changer was being used - as in couldn't understand a single word, but I do have APD so that may be why .
Great audiobook, would highly recommend

This was NOT it. I could not stand this book and, unfortunately, a lot of that had to do with the narrator.
I am so sorry narrator, but I HATED your voice. I had to skip sections when it was driving me too crazy at times.
I also found the story, overall, to be very one note. It was very flat and predictable and the dialogue was so corny and cringe. This was weirdly predictable but also not believable. I don't know how you do both of the those things at the same time, but it was accomplished here.
None of these characters were likable, our FMC was a pick me and obnoxious. If I met a person like this in real life I would not be able to have a conversation with them. I cannot stand people like this, that think the world revolves around them. And our MMC was just gross. Why is she so obsessed with him? He sucks, he is a stereotypical turd guy. And sure, that may be on purpose. The author may have wanted me to hate these characters, but you still have to give the reader a reason to stick around. You need to at least make your garbage people characters interesting and captivating. These were bad people and boring people. And they had the slowest, flattest story.
Why am I struggling so hard to find good thrillers?! Thrill me!
Thanks to NetGalley for the audiobook ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review! My Goodreads review is up and my TikTok (Zoe_Lipman) review will be up at the end of the month with my monthly reading wrap-up.

I am obsessed with this book! It was SO GOOD! I couldn’t stop listening. The audio was also 5/5!
There were so many edge of seats moments and twists and turns! This has to be my favorite thriller of the year so far.
It’s also crazy how the author just knew all about my NM and wrote about her 🤣 perfection!
So if you’re looking for a book about a strong FMC, a maybe cheating husband, lots of drama and thrills, then this is the book for you! Go get it right now!
TW’s can be found online, I do not like posting them and spoiling the book! But I will say, there is a dog, and the dog is safe! Don’t worry!
Thank you to NetGalley and Shade for the ARC!

The Webs You Weave by Shade Owens is a really good book! I enjoyed how everything unraveled and came to light. I knew the biggest twist very, very early on, which was disappointing as to how obvious it was, but was able to enjoy the book as a whole. I deducted a star as I found Meghan's TBI to be a plot point and once it was no longer suitable, it became an afterthought. This was unnecessary as I find it hard to believe anyone going into this book was going to believe Cole.
Kaden Catalina and Jay Parker delivered an exceptional performance in all the roles they covered. I especially appreciate how the audiobook was produced with a focus on continuity and immersion. Instead of alternating voices per chapter, they collaborated on most chapters to consistently voice their characters, regardless of perspective. This approach maintained the story's flow and made the listening experience far more engaging. I hope more recordings adopt this method in the future as it was *chef's kiss*.
Thank you to Red Raven Publishing for providing me with an ALC.

This book was written well and had many twists that I couldn’t predict. They all aligned and were interwoven together. The author had strong character development leading to feeling very involved in the characters. She was able to create positive and negative feelings toward each character.
It kept me engaged and guessing until the very end.

Holy hell!! This book is insane!! If you are looking for a psychological thriller that will leave you thinking about it for days to come, then run straight to the shops. Right. Now.
This was an ARC given to me by @netgalley and @redravenpublishing .
Right from the first word, you are spun into a deep dark web by @shadeowensauthor. She captures your attention and makes you question everything. This was so good. I started questioning myself!! I went from belief to disbelief faster than a Wimbledon tennis match, and it was glorious. The deceit and lies were masterful, and I was right there on the edge of my seat for it all.
The narrators were excellent, and I could feel the emotions in their voices. Fantastic team!

Meghan and Cole have been going through a rough patch in their marriage since a horrible car accident left Meghan with some brain damage and other long term injuries. Cole is trying to be supportive, however Meghan pushes him away. Meghan even pushes her beloved daughter away, and constantly accuses Cole of having affairs with his assistants. Is there something still wrong with her? Or is she absolutely right? A slow first half that ramps up later on to come together with some nice twists and turns.

🕷️✨ THE WEBS WE WEAVE by Shade Owens - 5 STARS! ✨🕷️
Prepare to be utterly ensnared! 🕸️ "The Webs We Weave" is a dark, delicious, and utterly captivating read that had me hooked from the very first page. Shade Owens has crafted a world that's both hauntingly beautiful and thrillingly dangerous, and I couldn't get enough. 🖤
The characters? Complex, flawed, and utterly magnetic. Their stories intertwine like threads in a meticulously spun web, and you'll find yourself rooting for them even when they're making the most questionable choices. 😈 The plot twists? Jaw-dropping. 🤯 I was constantly guessing, and yet, I was still surprised at every turn.
Owens' writing is simply mesmerizing. The atmosphere is thick with tension, and the prose is both lyrical and sharp. This isn't just a book; it's an experience. 🌙
If you love dark fantasy with morally grey characters, intricate world-building, and a plot that will keep you up all night, then "The Webs We Weave" is an absolute must-read. 📖✨ Trust me, you won't be able to put it down.
Highly recommend grabbing this one, dimming the lights, and letting Shade Owens weave her magic around you. 🕯️

The Webs You Weave by Shade Owens is my second book by her and these books grab your attention and leave you in a chokehold till the end.
Cole, a compulsive liar, serial cheater, gaslighter extraordinaire who only hires the prettiest assistance. Cole is playing a dangerous game and he doesn’t even know just how dangerous and twisted it will get. The characters in this book are WILD. It has multuple POV and Shade writes the chapters to be extremely engaging but short at the same time to keep you wanting more.
Meghan, Coles wife, I mean let’s face it, they needed a divorce A LONG time ago. Meghan is recovering from a brain injury, which left her disfigured sand partially paralyzed. Meghan stays at home and care for the house and Hazel their teenage daughter. Hazel, the glue to their marriage, the only reason Meghan stays while Cole is out galavanting with his pretty assistants wining and dining them. Little does he know what Meghan is doing in the background to get back at Cole.
I highly recommend any Shade Owens book if you enjoy Frieda Mcfadden or Riley Sager books. I loved the dual narration and listening on audio really made it feel like I was in the book as a fly on the wall taking it all in. This psychological thriller really had be seconding guessing myself when I thought I knew what was happening next.
Thank you Netgalley and Red Raven Publishing for the ALC audiobook. This review is voluntary and all my own words.

Really enjoyed this audiobook. Love the different narrators.
This book kept me guessing. I had figured out some things along the way, but definitely didn’t have it figured out till the twist actually happened.
Very good characters, great twists, kept me on the edge of my seat.
Will be adding other Shade Owen’s books to my TBR list
Thank you NetGalley for the copy.

Did I binge this audiobook in one day...yes, yes, I did! Loved the narrators and the short chapters. I couldn't wait to figure out what was going on. I guessed one of the twists ahead of time, but was surprised by the others. This psychological thriller kept me on the edge of my seat.

🎧The prologue is strong! Mysterious and gripping. A great start to this psychological thriller. I found myself not liking Cole from the beginning. There were some unexpected twists but overall I didn’t love it. I think the narrators were great and helped bring the authors story to life.
Thank you NetGalley Red Raven Publishing for an advanced copy.
