Reading this reminds me why I love Amanda Usen so much. What a great read, filled with snappy dialogue, the perfect tension between these two characters and the perfect amount of sizzle! Checks all the boxes.
When two TV reality show stars are called in to the network offices for a meeting, they're about to get the shock of their totally opposite lives. Russ Donovan is the Wild Man, known for his risky adventures and absolute screen appeal, Susannah Stone is a recently divorced mother to a 14 month old with a Martha Stewart-is type theme, but she really appeals to the masses of stay at home Moms.
Russ is a driven risk taker, Susie as he calls her, is a planner and keeps her life as tidy and tight as possible. The networks have decided for ratings of both shows to pair the two up, Susie out in the wilds with Russ and Russ at home with Susannah. Neither are happy, but with the threats hanging over their heads decide to make a go of it. Both decide to make the other a little miserable in their own environments. Each make assumptions about the other. The chemistry was superb. As the story unfolds they start to let their guard down with each other. Who needs a campfire with all the heat coming from their tent! Susie's ex really did a job on her self esteem, insecure about her body image along with multitude of other things, Russ does wonders for her confidence. He opens up about why he has chosen this lifestyle after losing his brother. When the arena's switch and Susie has Russ in her home with her teething 14 month old we see a different side of Russ, the more domestic side. Susie still plots to trip him up now and then, but he's a quick learner. He also has a knack with that sweet little toddler. Russ vows to never settle down, can these two get to the end of this collective show challenge and mesh their personal lives?
Read this book, great plot, stellar writing and witty dialogue with some smoking steam make this book a winner and an easy 5 stars from me.
*this is book one in the Zodiac series, all stand alone, written by different authors. I highly recommend this book and the whole series.

4.5 stars - Super sexy, real adult issues and conversations, no contrived foolishness just to create tension. I really enjoyed this read.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
