Tanith’s job as a ride conductor becomes much more complicated with drug deals going on between cast members, management trying their best to bust the union before it starts, and oh yes, somebody is killing the other park employees.
I liked the idea of poking fun at big amusement parks, and mixed with a fairy tale themed serial killer had me instantly hooked! Tanith was also a great protagonist! I was rooting for her the whole time, and I loved watching as she put together the pieces. And the art was good, really stylistic, and felt on brand for the tone,
But everything just felt so rushed. We didn’t get time to get to know anyone, and the final reveal, who the culprit was and the motivation, everything about the ending wasn’t set up enough for me. I do think I would be interested in a follow up, as one of my favorite characters beside Tanith survived.
Thank you to both NetGalley and Mad Cave Studios for the opportunity to review this arc!

What the heck did I just read. A serial killer is on the loose in an amusement park based on fairytales. Yes, this is heavily coded to remind you of a certain mouse. But that mouse does play apart in this book. Based on the cover, this was not what I was expecting, but it was interesting, and it set itself up to be a series. While this was an interesting graphic novel, I think it would work better as a horror movie. Mainly because there are too many inconsistencies where the storyline drops and picks up under a different idea or topic.

I received this DRC from NetGalley.
This was a fun story that combines horror with fairy tales. It was fast- paced and a quick read. I enjoyed the mystery aspect and general creepy feeling of the amusement park.

It is a very cute read for a graphic novel! I loved the art style of it and the story was very enjoyable.

This is my first read from this author and illustrator. I think we all have fantasized what it is like to work at a theme park, well Tanith is living the dream in Storybook Theme Park. That is, until things turn morbid with other workers being killed, Tanith must work to figure out who the killer is while surviving herself.
Visually this is an amazing graphic novel, and I recommend it to anyone who loves Grim Fairy Tales (the themes of the murders). I love the plot but the plot points didn't feel like they added up and our protagonist wasn't able to really react to the carnage around her beyond escaping for a good amount of the story. Perhaps I missed something? If you don't need to close all the loops or just want to read for some slasher-horror vibes, this is a great graphic novel to grab. I know this is the first issue in a series so I am curious where and what it would pick up with in the second issue.

Such a cool concept and pretty art! The deaths are gruesome so if you’re not expecting that I could see it being a turn-off. I like horror though so I thought it was a cool addition to the fairytale vibes.

I didn’t necessarily dislike this book but it didn’t hook me much. I didn’t care for the final twist at the very end but it could keep the series going so I get it. I did like the items based off Grimm’s.

This was an interesting story. I've always enjoyed a murder mystery and this was no exception. The deaths were a bit more graphic than I was expecting, especially for the Prince and the Little Mermaid, but I guess thats to be expected since it was following the deaths of the original fairytales. Overall it was a very interesting read but the plot twists didn't really get me.

I found the concept of the story extremely cool! I wanted to read it in one sitting with how fast-paced the story is. I really liked the art, expressions, use of colors and the level of gory-ness with the murders. I felt it lacked emotional connection to the characters at times, it could be because of the fast pace and quick resolution to the murders. I would've enjoyed it more if there were moments to take in the gruesome intensity of what's happening around the amusement park. Overall, I enjoyed it and look forward to volume 2!

Someone who operates one of the fairground rides at a theme park gets 'promoted' to be Briar Rose when one of the lasses playing her has a meltdown at work, only for our lead to find the lass has also been murdered – and won't be alone in that… This is alright, but comes across as a trying-too-hard-yet-not-trying-enough Hammer horror from the time they had lost all relevance, revamped for the tweenage audience. Two and a half stars.

The concept of this book was sooooo cool. A Disney-like theme park inspired more closely by the real Grimm fairy tales? And then murders that try to mimic, at least to an extent, the way that people die in the tales? Really cool!
But there just... Wasn't anything to this except the cool concept. I mean, nice art, I guess? But the 'murderer' reveal wasn't satisfying, mostly because it got jumbled up with extra parts that just didn't feel necessary. Also, there was no weight to any of the deaths? Nobody seemed to care about anything? I mean, sure, Tanith was trying to solve the case, but all of her 'reaction' was entirely intellectual or survival based. There was zero emotion to numerous brutal deaths, even ones that happened right in front of her.
I don't know. Just overall cool concept, extremely subpar execution.

An interesting concept with strong visuals and a fast pace. There were some exciting moments and cool ideas, but the story felt a bit uneven at times. The characters had potential, but I didn’t fully connect with them. Overall, a decent read with room to grow.Thank you for access to this ARC in return for my honest review!

This was a fun mystery combining the murderous moments from a number of classic fairytales and Agathy Christie set in a public domain absolutely not Disney analogue.
The writing was pretty good, but didn't blow me away, but the premise is great.
The art is good with a few great gruesome moments.
Ultimately, it was an interesting read that didn't knock my socks off, but I had a decent enough time.

I enjoyed this Disney World parallel park
with the murder and the OG stories
Roy is a creepy creep
Some parts got confusing, but it was mostly fun and quick

If you have ever wondered what the results would look like if Agatha Christie designed theme park rides look no further than "Murder Kingdom". This graphic novel is a fun, scary and intelligent book that draws on the darker versions of classic fairy tales and is not afraid to poke fun the biggest name in theme park entertainment. Expect a celebration of the darker side of the Grimm tales, a handless villain, misery and chaos at the happiest place on earth, a recluse that makes Howard Hughes look like an extrovert and a self-rescuing princess with mad detective skills.

This was dark and twisted and I loved it! The illustration was great and the story line was fun. I can’t wait for the next one. Thanks NetGallery!

I liked this graphic novel. The story was fast paced and interesting, and I liked the murdery twists on the classic fairy tales. However, I feel like the reveal and the ending happened so quickly. I loved the art style though!

I liked the art style and the different colour schemes for the different parts of the theme park. This book has a lot of murder for such a short novel. The murderer looks like Alice from madness returns, which might be intentional and if so I like the nod to that game.
The heroine seems a bit too clear headed after finding so many bodies, but heck it's fiction.
I don't think there needs to be a part two at the Renaissance fair, which the last two frames seem to imply.

Tanith works at a totally not Disney fairytale theme park, suddenly upgrading to princess after the current Briar Rose has a public drinking spree. She takes the stage, only to end her shift finding the last princess asleep forever. As she uncovers more clues with a friend and the bodies start to mount, she has to try to stay alive while saving her friends and stopping this fairytale serial killer.
This book gave me Scooby Doo meets mascot horror, and was a lot of fun, if a little gruesome with some of the deaths. But, of course, the fairytales themselves are pretty harsh, so who’s surprised there. Throw a few twists in there and we had a pretty solid adventure of a graphic novel.

Thank you NetGalley for this ARC!
This was an interesting story that I honestly found to be… too much? It was predictable and strange. Not in the way I usually like. The art was really nice and I enjoyed the colors. Even the gore was tasteful in my opinion. My trouble was with the story itself.
