Thank you so much NetGalley, Gallery Books, and of course Tricia O'Malley!

Firstly, where can I get my own emberwolf? Because I desperately need a cute little dog/dragon mixed baby who loves cheese!! I would die for Blue!

Secondly, this was such a cozy little romance. I was already sold with it being a witchy romance set in Scotland, but after reading it I just completely loved Sloane, her sisters, grandmother, Knox, and some of the other people from the town. Obviously, I very much loved Sloane and Knox's enemies to lover relationship! It was so much, and I loved how they really complimented each other with their banter. So perfect, 10/10! It wasn't just their relationship that I loved, though. It was also how deeply Sloane cared and wanted to fight for her sisters and their grandmother. I just couldn't help but cheer for her to get something good out of coming back to their hometown. I also really loved that we saw Sloane's internal struggles of wanting what's best for her family and being selfless, but also wanting to be selfish and finally be happy for herself. I felt that deep in my core. Of course, I just fell in love with Knox and his whole knight in shinning armour vibes 😉.

The only thing that sort of bummed me out was that it felt slightly rushed towards the end, but maybe that was just me. Aside from that, I genuinely enjoyed the story and seeing Sloane's change from when she first arrived to town with her sisters to finally make a breakthrough with the town. I can't wait to see what happens next!

Very fun book that leans into all the stereotypes you would think it would! The magic is certainly pronounced and the family elements are as well.

This was such a cute book! It is the perfect mix of Scotland and witch! And I love the chemistry in this book between the main characters.

This is such a good cozy fantasy book!
It's got all the autumn/winter vibes, quirky familiars, dragons, and small town Scottish charm. And it's a relatively quick read, so perfect to curl up with for a few hours and lose yourself.

The only problems I had with this was how quickly Knox (our MMC) went from hate to love and how no searching went into trying to solve the mystery of Vaila's bloodline. The story could be expanded to include these and be absolutely perfect (at least show the sisters doing SOME research into the curse).

Goodness gracious, what cozy, witchy, fun this was! The MacGregor sisters are back in their hometown of Briarhaven regardless of the curse that follows them. Sloane is the oldest of the trio just coming into her magic and overly anxious about the unknown. While breaking the curse is the objective, the mayor and old school mate, Knox, is not having it. He wants what's best for the town and getting Sloane to leave is his goal. I love a good enemies to lovers and these two fit the bill. The chaos, quirky characters, and even the town itself made this a joy to read. I can't wait for more stories in this new world by Tricia!

I enjoyed Love’s a Witch. I felt like there could have been more of a build up between Sloane and Knox but I absolutely loved the setting. I cannot wait to read the other books in the series. This will be a perfect fall read for everyone!!
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for this arc ebook in exchange for an honest review. All opinions expressed are my own.

A cute first installment in a new series set in the Scottish highlands. A trio of witchy sisters with a centuries-long curse upon their family, some delightful local color in side characters, and a steamy romance with the town's mayor all lend some fun to a delightful, atmospheric, cozy magical mystery. Can't wait to read more!

The book starts in 1713 with Bonelle MacGregor, who is a 24 year old witch. Her bff Vaila is excited about the prince coming to town. Instead of asking Vaila to dance he asks Bonelle. Vaila curses her and it impacts all generations of the family to be cursed. I’d really like Bonelle’s story. I want to know what happened to her after she was cursed.

The book moves to present day. Sloane and her sisters move constantly due the curse, but they return home after their grandmother's asks them to. The town provost, Knox, wants them gone. Personally I felt he changed from trying to get them to leave to trying to get Sloan to stay too fast. It didn’t seem realistic considering how hard he was trying to get her to leave. It’s a cozy, magical story.

This is an enemy's to lovers kind of storyline. The premise of a cursed bunch of sisters is interesting as is the town they come from. The two love interests just didn't hold my attention as well as the back story of why things were they way they were.

A great book for fall. I loved all the witchy elements and the setting being in Scotland. Knox and Sloane are great characters, very black cat x golden retriever. I really enjoyed getting to know all the side characters as well which is a nice set up for the series.
I enjoyed the plot more than the romance, a bit too insta-lust for me, but their found family was sweet. I felt like we could’ve explored the characters foundational friendship building a bit more but it kind of jumped from them lusting after each other to being in a relationship. We got brief glimpses into what else Knox loved about Sloane but I guess it was more of an actions vs words book because we definitely saw Knox SHOW Sloane how he will always show up for her which I definitely appreciated as someone who often feels a lot like Sloane, eldest daughter things.

Overall, I'm excited to see how the rest of the story ends up panning out, especially with Sloane's two sisters, and will definitely come back to this series once we get a book 2

This was so cute and cozy!!! I love the story of the curse and how it impact every town they go into. I can’t wait to see who’s next and what’s next. Blue, Haggis, and Oswald are absolutely the stars of this book. They bring all the chaos. I giggled with the banter. I enjoyed this soooooo much.

I’ve read several books written by this author and just as before, I was extremely pleased. This has to be one of the most well written, beautiful books I’ve read this year. I’m an English major and hates reading books that are not well edited. You won’t have that problem here. If you want to laugh, cry, and feel all the feels, you’ll love this book. 4.75 stars ⭐️

In Love's a Witch, the three MacGregor sisters return to Briarhaven, a town they formerly call home. They are used to moving about place to place due in part to a curse cast upon their family by a long lost stilted lover. More recently, the sisters' moves are complicated by their patients' estrangement, which seems to have been the final straw that push them out of Briarhaven in the first place.

The sisters come back to Briarhaven to break the family curse and stay with an elder relative, Broca. Here, they meet the town's provost, Knox Douglas, who has worked tirelessly to make the town into a literal haven for magical beings. It is an amusement type town where nonmagical beings see magical things happening yet chalk it up to one of the town's tourist many attractions. The sisters' cursed return (aka a never ending snowstorm) jeopardizes everything Knox has worked so hard to preserve for the inhabitants. It becomes a match made in heaven between Knox, the man trying to kick the sisters out, and Sloane, the oldest type A sister, who desperately wants some stability for her family and yearns to break the curse.

This book is marketed as a cozy fantasy romance, and the vibes are definitely there, particularly with the neverending snowstorm and magical creatures (the familiars) for the two main characters. There is also a coven of witches who cover a variety of intriguing and sometimes stereotypical characters. Lastly, this book is set in Ireland, so there are castles, good food, parties, and a kind of "holiday"- type feeling that pervades the book. It also helps that there is this dreary curse that Sloane and her sisters are trying to overcome. It leads to some pondering and sleuthing which fit in with the cozy atmosphere. These are things that I enjoyed as a reader.

What I found more difficult to swallow is the romance, which does not fit a cozy vibe. The two protagonists have a history in which Knox maintains a childhood crush on Sloane until she returns to Briarhaven. There unfortunately isn't more history than that on an emotional level, but there is some insta-attraction which morphs into lust despite their contentious relationship as adults. This being a contemporary fantasy romance, naturally the spice will come, and when it does, it kind of throws you off. It seems to be a bit raunchier and more explicit than you might expect from a "cozy fantasy romance." Moreover, I did not feel like the relationship really develops deeper on an emotional level, despite the similarities in familial responsibility/mindset between Knox and Sloane.

What ultimately makes me want to continue the series are the vibes outside of this particular romantic relationship as well as the intriguing relationships the sisters have with some other side characters. These range from relationships with potential love interests, villains, long lost (estranged) family members, and the sisters' own relationships with magic overall.

Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for letting me read the book early. I look forward to reading more from this series.

If you enjoy lighthearted, witchy romances with a cozy small-town vibe you will find charm in this book.

What I loved most was how the book blended lighthearted magical fun with emotional undercurrents: Sloane’s burden of responsibility, her deep bond with her sisters, and the struggle to balance control with vulnerability. The family dynamic was touching, the setting felt alive with folklore and small-town quirks, and the whimsical tone made this an easy, comforting read.

While it didn’t dive too deeply into the darker themes, that breezy tone suited the story perfectly. It's like curling up with a Hallmark movie—if Hallmark had witches, curses, and a grumpy Scotsman guarding the town from magical disasters.

Thank you Netgalley for the ARC.

For fans of Tricia's Enchanted Highlands series, this new novel is a must-read. The story begins in 1713 with Bonelle MacGregor, age 24, a fledgling witch. A prince is attracted to her instead of her friend, Vaila. Vaila curses her and any town Bonelle chooses to live in.

Fast forward to the present day. With the curse still firmly in place, Sloane and her sisters live as vagabonds. They have returned to their hometown at their grandmother's request. Of course, ruin and grief continue to accompany them. In this instance, an unexpected snowstorm in October will ruin the town's tourism. Most of the townspeople want them gone, except for Knox Douglas. He is torn between protecting the town he is sworn to protect and his unwelcome attraction to Sloane.

Will they break the curse? Will Sloane return Knox's affection? Along the way, we meet many new, adorable, enchanted beings, along with some not-so-adorable characters. I read the novel in one day. Couldn't put it down. The only problem with receiving an advance copy in exchange for an honest review is that I have an even longer wait for the next book in the series.

Thank you to NetGalley, Tricia O'Malley, and her publisher for an advance copy of this wonderful book.

Sloane and her family have been cursed to never stay in one spot for long. When she and her sisters return to the small town of Briarhaven to celebrate Sloane's birthday and take care of their grandmother, Broca, they bring a never ending snow with them. Knox is the mayor of the magical town, and immediately tries to make Sloane leave to bring normalcy back. But before he knows it, sparks are flying and he's convincing her to stay instead.

This book would be a perfect and cozy fall read! I loved the magical small town vibes of Briarhaven. It was cozy, and all of the characters new each other and everything that was happening just like in a real small town. Each person having their own type of magic was really interesting. The magical creatures, Blue, Haggis, and Oswald stole the spotlight. They were so cute and the absolute best sidekicks imaginable! The romance between Sloane and Knox was perfectly sweet with a side of spice and swooning. Once Knox fell, he fell hard! I would love to have learned a little bit more about the coven, but I'm hoping we see more of it in future books.

Thank you to Gallery Books and NetGalley for the advance copy!

Scotland, check. Witches, check. Cute animals, check. This had so many things I enjoy and I've loved Tricia OMalleys Enchanted Highlands series so I definitely wanted to give this a try. I loved the sisterly dynamics, each with their own personality. The animals were the top tier characters for me, so stinking cute. I unfortunately didn't feel the chemistry between the main characters because one minute Knox doesn't want her and the next he does. Make up your mind. I also got frustrated with Sloan always changing her mind about staying or going. Honestly I felt more chemistry between Liam and Raven and I want their story.. This ended up being an average read for me at 3 stars.

Love’s a Witch is an absolute delight! With a perfect blend of humor, heart, and hexes, this story casts a spell from page one. Sloane and Knox’s fiery dynamic brings both tension and charm to the magical town of Briarhaven. The witty banter and whimsical world-building make it a joy to read, while the deeper themes around family, identity, and healing add emotional depth. It’s clear this is just the beginning for the MacGregor sisters, and I’m already counting down to the next installment. A sparkling start to what promises to be a bewitching series.
