A huge thank you to NetGalley for the ARC.
Another huge thank you to Tricia O'Malley for the absolute GIFT that this book is. Seriously, this is such a treasure that I plan on buying a shelf trophy for my home. I cannot wait for this to come and to see how other people enjoy it.
First of all, I love a small-town romance. Small town settings are so much fun because, as a reader, I get a good chance of getting to know the townies. Tricia did such an amazing job bringing the community together! The only thing I really wanted to see more of was the more mystical aspects of the town. We really only scratched the surface! There's so much potential here.
I love our characters so much. Sloane was fantastic. I love how much potential for growth there was. I really loved Knox too. He can be a bit grating in the beginning, but he grew on me. The sisters were super funny, and I hope that the other books in this series will give me a greater chance at getting to know them (outside of their hilarious quips at their sister's expense). I love Broca so much. I absolutely adore a loving grandmother. Mandy Meadows- ugh! Greatly written. Seriously.
The plot was so good. I realize it's a little early for a fall/winter reads but I couldn't care less. This book makes me wish it was autumn all year long.
Let's not forget the spice. It was spicy. Three out of five chili peppers spicy.
It's fun, cozy and whimsical. I had a good time reading it.

Overall Rating: 4.4/5 Stars!
Plot: 4/5 stars
O’Malley presents a well-developed, moderately well-paced plot in Love’s a Witch! Though it starts a little slow and gets repetitive toward the middle, it’s an intriguing and gripping book that paints images of love, triumphs, working together, and sets itself up as the first installment of what is sure to be another great series from O’Malley!
The story of Sloane, her family, Knox, and the people of Briarhaven focuses on a centuries-old curse. The MacGregor family has become nomadic because of a curse that keeps them from staying in one place for too long, lest the people around them bear the consequences. When Sloane, her sisters, and her eccentric but loveable grandmother return to their home of Briarhaven, they set out to break the curse, even if the neighbors would rather they leave. From Sloane unlocking her magic on her 25th birthday to the discovery of a coven, the MacGregor sisters face trials and secrets of their past all while handsome Knox defends Briarhaven and deals with the tragedy of falling for the woman who brought the curse back.
Narrative/Writing Style: 5/5 stars… always a Tricia O’Malley fan
The writing style is the same as O’Malley’s other books; it follows the same romance/fantasy structure, is predictable in the best way possible, and makes everything clear and easy to follow. Utilizing the signature third person, dual-POV, the main characters illuminate their perspectives and perceptions, giving readers a full view of the risks, benefits, and love encountered.
Characters: 4/5 stars
As usual, the MMC is my favorite character. Knox is adorable, fights for what he believes in, and loves with all his heart. Blue is an especially meaningful character as well; he’s cute, smart, and loves cheese! (As someone who lost my childhood dog a few years ago, I was also touched by O’Malley’s dedication to her dog, Blue.) Perhaps the only character that I found myself not thoroughly pleased with was Sloane. To me, she seemed a bit annoying in that she complained, went back-and-forth on what she wanted, and refused help while admitting she couldn’t do it all alone. In the end, she was a great, well-developed character that drove the story, but I found myself disappointed reaching chapters in her POV. She definitely didn’t make or break the book for me, and by the end, she’s a character I’d love to see in small doses in the future! (This is, of course, my opinion, and I’m sure there are plenty of people who can relate to Sloane, but it unfortunately wasn’t me.)
P.S. for O’Malley fans: There’s a name drop from the Enchanted Highlands series that made me squeal in excitement!!
Readability (and Re-Readability): 4.5/5 stars
O’Malley has an incredibly enticing writing style that makes novels easy to read and usually has a draw to reread! I read this book quickly, and I will definitely read it again in the fall… but I don’t think it’s not one I could dive back into right away, despite wanting to realign some of the timeline and characters in my mind.
Overall, another great read from O’Malley and I’m beyond excited to see a new series from a traditional publisher! I’d recommend this to fans of romance with light fantasy, especially if you enjoy O’Malley’s other series!

I just Love Tricia O'Malleys beautiful Scottish worlds. This new spin off is just as magical and fun as the last! The characters are so loveable, and that really wraps you into the story. All of these Hot Scottish men are making me want to book a trip to Scotland ASAP.
Great story! Wish it had a little more spice and was a bit longer. But overall super cute and fun read ❤️

Sloane and her family have never been able to put down roots. Cursed by a jealous witch long ago, their powers stir up trouble wherever they go. But now they’ve been called home by their grandmother to break the curse once & for all.
This is a cozy witchy read. I loved the unique aspect of the town, with magical beings hiding in plain sight. The familial relationship between Sloane, her siblings & her grandmother was definitely the best part!
I do wish there was more of a focus on Sloane’s magic and breaking the actual curse. I felt like that took a back seat to Knox & Sloane’s relationship. The ending felt rushed, with everything a bit too “convenient” in the end. I did enjoy all of the side characters though & its clear that there is more to come from this family & magical town!

Three sisters, Sloane, Lyra and Nova, and their Grandmother, Broca, return to Briarhaven in the Scottish Highlands to try and break a curse that has plagued their family for centuries. While they do bring a blizzard and magical misfirings to the town, they also find old and new friends who are far more than they seem. Love's a Witch is charming and heartfelt, with love pouring out of every chapter.
Briarhaven, the main town of the story, is so whimsical and has such a tight-knit community. Even with the snowpocalypse that happens in the book, the town makes the best of it and turns it into a winter wonderland.
The main characters, Sloane and Knox, were so well matched. The banter between them was so fun and flirty and honestly who wouldn't fall for Knox with his sense of humor. They were also so supportive of each other, which is something they both needed.
The side characters were what really sold the story. The MacGregor sisters and their grandmother were pretty fun, including their squabbles. And the love and support between them was palpable. The Charms coven was a great addition and had me laughing and rolling my eyes at their nonsense. The towns people were unique and I liked getting little glimpses into who they were and what businesses they ran and how they supported each other. And my very favorite, the creatures, which were an absolute delight! Haggis and Oswald were hilarious together, and then you add in Blue to the mix and it was a dream come true for this animal lover. The addition of other magical creatures throughout the story was also a good time.
Overall this story is fun and nostalgic of magical books and shows I loved as a kid. I'm excited to see the series grow and what other things the sisters will get up to.
~Thank you to Gallery Books and Tricia O' Malley for this complimentary ARC. All opinions are my own~

Love's a Witch by Tricia O'Malley is a cozy romantasy with an enchanting blend of humor, magic, and romance. The charming Scottish setting and witty banter, particularly between the main characters, Sloane and Knox, make this an enjoyable enemies-to-lovers romance. The storyline about breaking the family curse showcases the warm, funny, and deeply rooted in love relationship between the MacGregor sisters and their grandmother. You can't help but fall in love with the cast of characters, including a cheese-loving flying familiar.. Overall, Love's a Witch is a heartwarming and engaging read that offers a magical escape with a touch of humor and charm.

There were parts of this story that I loved (familiars that they could talk to, dragons, Broca), and there were things I hated (the excessive sibling bickering and the incredibly rushed romance). I would rate it a 3.5/5. Getting to know the characters better would have pushed it to a four.

I absolutely LOVED this book! It was so sweet and so funny! It had me kicking my feet and giggling the whole time. The enemies to lovers was so good! I love Sloan’s bond with her sisters! And the mini highland cow?! Dead!

I could not be more happy with this book if I tried. It was absolutely wonderful to follow FMC Sloane in her magical journey. Knox was a delightful MMC who you wanted to root for.
There was a lot of mysteries and fun surprises that were unexpected and perfectly set up the rest if the series. I can hardly wait to see what happens next.
Such a pleasant surprise.

I loved every bit of this book and I really do plan on reading it again. After I get a few more of my TBR books finished. I can hardly wait to do my review on Amazon as soon as it opens.
Sloan MacGregor what a great gal you are. So often unloved (except by her sisters) and vastly under-rated ! Later her grandmother Broca will tell her she's always been special and that she always loved her even when Sloan's mother made it impossible to reach her. Or her sisters ! I Keep an eye on Broca Where do you think Sloan got HER spunk from ? I loved her spunk, her sass, her tenderness with those she loved and Sloan reflects those same things. She has a true desire to make amends for something she didn't do. And to make real friends and a real home. She doesn't want to go but will if she has to and will make her sisters go with her !THINGS and people are NOT on her side !!! That's putting it mildly. Even the plastic like witch leader Mandy that welcomes them is really the worst ! And you can bet she will show her true colors. It'll take awhile but the McGregor sisters,Tam, Nova and Deidre aren't fooled.Especially Sloan, who pegged that leader as a fake from day one ! Tam and Deidre are her sisters
Oh Knox you never stood a chance, when it came to loving Sloan and love how all of that unfolded. So I won't spoil it for others. I will say though that Knox has surprises of his own that make me smile !
Blue, is Sloan's unexpected supernatural pet, another smile and surprises comes with his addition.
The ending? Another thing that I loved. Is there going to be more to the story ? Yes. So it's a happy ending for now.

I love this story and cannot wait for the next books in the series about the other sisters. There was everything you could want in a witchy book. Family, magic, and love were the main focal points. It's also going to be the perfect fall/winter seasonal read!!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️5
IM IN LOVE LOVE LOVE
Starshollow but make it a witchy magical small town in Scotland. DEVOURED it in one day. From the first page I got captured into the story immediately and couldn’t put the book down. It’s cozy, romantic, emotional, funny, and fast paced. the plot perfectly executed, and characters are well written.
Tropes you’ll find in the book~
🔮 Magical small town
🔮 Grumpy x Sunshine
🔮 Spicy and beautiful romance
🔮 Close knit sisters / sisterhood
🔮 Pet familiars
🔮 Mentions of fae, elves and dragons
A perfect blend/balance of romance, magic, and coziness as the book sucks you into the magical charming Briarhaven and follow Sloane and her sisters back to their childhood hometown to try and break the centuries old curse that follows their bloodline. Getting to know Sloane’s complex character and her development, her struggles and burdens with responsibilities as the eldest sister and how she deals with them and the obstacles she faces along the way,,, and of course all while keeping it as cozy as possible with all the magic, adorable pet familiars, magical shops and festivities in town.
The love story of Sloane and Knox was everything. The chemistry between them was unmatched, their banter, witty remarks, and the TENSION!! Knox was so sweet and gentle, always taking care of her, reassuring her that she doesn’t need to carry all the responsibilities and taking the burden of her shoulders, while Sloane as stubborn and scared as she was in the beginning, she gave in to her feelings for Knox at the end. The author wrote it incredibly, building up tension and allowing their love to blossom throughout the book without it being forced or sudden.
One of the things I loved the most is the sisters’ strong bond, them standing side by side and always having each other’s backs. I got to see more of Sloane’s sisters, Lyra and Nova, different but lovely personalities, their childhood and how the traumas they faced had affected each of them differently, and how they cope with them. Also there was a small insight into Lyra’s past which I think it might be a hint for a possible second book, and that got me more hyped!
Thank you NetGalley for providing me an ARC of this amazing book🙏💕

Love’s a Witch is a new book in a new series by this author. I have been reading her back catalog, and thanks to a NetGalley release of her newest book by the publisher, I was able to read this one in advance. Boy, was it a nice ride.
The book takes place in a nice Scottish town that has a host of magical beings, including one man who is the guardian of the town. When a cursed former resident of the town, Sloane, comes back into town in order for her and her sisters to try and break the ancient curse, the guardian wants them to leave to protect the town… Yesterday, if not sooner. But, he also wishes her to stay because he has had feelings for her for a while now, and seeing her again stirs up those feelings.
This book takes you on a journey not only in love, but in magical mishaps, and finding of one’s place in life. Sloane is sick of moving from place to place, and would love nothing better than to stay and enjoy friends, and home.
Though at times, the pushing of her to leave got a bit overdone, it quickly turns around to the love, and the adventure for everyone to finally get rid of the curse. I really enjoyed this book, and will look forward to the next in the series. As, the two other sisters, I assume will be getting their own books.
Highly recommend.

I really enjoyed Love’s a Witch! It’s a sweet, magical romance set in a small Scottish town full of quirky characters and just the right touch of mystery. I loved the chemistry between Sloan and Knox!

I love a cozy romance, add in the paranormal and a hot Scotsman in a kilt...Swoon. This book is a perfect, cute, comfort read. I definitely recommend.

ARC Review: Love’s a Witch by Tricia O’Malley
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 (4.25/5)
Love’s a Witch was everything I crave in a cozy fall romance—magic, dragons, Scottish men, and just the right dash of charm and whimsy. Tricia O’Malley has created a magical world that feels like wrapping up in your favorite blanket with a warm drink and a heart full of wonder.
I especially loved the dynamic between the three sisters—their bond was authentic, supportive, and added so much heart to the story. The FMC was fiercely independent, and watching her learn to lean on others was a beautiful journey in itself. And of course, the romance was both swoony and sweet, perfectly balanced with the magical elements.
O’Malley’s storytelling pulled me in from the start and kept me enchanted to the very last page. I’m already crossing my fingers that the other sisters will get their own stories—because I am not ready to leave this world behind!

This author is new to me, but I will be keeping an eye out for anything else they publish. I loved the story and the characters. The pacing of the story was great and the characters were relatable.

This will be perfect for this fall, I always love witchy book and this it top tier. My only concern was the end felt a little rushed.

Cute, trope-y, cozy, & fun. I had a good time with this book. My main complaints were a few plot holes (why is the dad’s profession a secret? Where is mom now? Why do we call Grandma by her first name?) but overall, a light, low-stakes read perfect for fall.

I don’t know what it is about Tricia O’Malley but everytime I read one of her books I get transported into that book.
I’m obsessed with her Scottish Highlands series and quite frankly didn’t think any book could top those but this book?
Love’s a Witch? Was absolutely incredible!
The characters, the world building, the story, the men in kilts!!! I’m so in love with all of it.
This is an amazing story and it’s a story you will devour!!! I definitely need this one on my shelf!!
