You’re joking. I LOVED this. It’s perfect. This is one of my fave cozy fantasy romances of all time. I’ve already preordered my copy.
Guys this has SCOTTISH accents. Magical creatures. Need I say more?
Her writing is magickally captivating. I can’t wait for Yalu guys to read it!! Perfect just in time for fall!

First book in a new Scottish series. This is absolutely a romance, but the family/town storyline also takes a key role. It has a really good balance. The main characters are great, but add in chaotic magic, adorable familiars, and supportive secondary characters… it made for a great cozy read!
Thanks to Gallery Books for this ARC in exchange for my honest review. Watch for Love’s a Witch to come out August 26, 2025.

Such a cute and cozy story. Loved the dual pov and the banter between our fmc and mmc. The setting was cute and cozy. Enjoyed the ending as it is totally set up for more to come.

Love’s a Witch by Tricia O’Malley is a fun witchy romance set in Scotland.
While the overall set-up seemed a bit thin to me - a cursed family of witches coming back to their hometown to break the curse, I loved the characters and exploring the different kinds of magic. One of my favorite parts was the magical, Scottish small town setting- especially all the cute shops, the castle, and the pub. Definitely made me want to live there! I also really liked the sisters' strong, loving relationship.
The romantic leads was good. I enjoyed the banter although some of the dialogue and internal monologues were repetitive.
Overall, I enjoyed Love's a Witch and I plan to read more in the series. The story reminded me a lot of The Ex Hex and fans of Erin Sterling or Lana Harper will definitely like this book too.
Thanks to the author and to NetGalley for the review copy.

I am in love with Blue! This story is full of magic, romance, and lovable animals. I am looking forward to the next book in this series, as in can't wait! Really loved the story and would definitely recommend this book to paranormal cozy romance fans.. I received an e-book from NetGalley in return for an unbiased review.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.
This was such a delightfully, charming novel. I absolutely loved it and couldn’t put it down!
The MacGregor sisters are cursed to bring misfortune to whatever town they settle in. Because of this they lead a nomadic life. On the eve of her 25th birthday, Sloan MacGregor comes back to her home town determined to end the curse once and for all. There’s only one problem, the hot mayor, Knox Douglas is determined to run her out of town to make sure the small town of Briarhaven does not fall into misfortune. The sparks fly between the two as they continue to butt heads. When feelings begin to run deeper the two band together to find a solution, but will they be able to end the curse once and for all?
Sloane has the burden of being the eldest daughter in a family with distant parents. Her mother was toxic and didn’t share much about their witchy past with the sisters. Through all the moves, their one constant was their grandma, Broca who ensured they had an anchor in the world. Each sister adapted to their toxic upbringing differently. What I loved about their relationship is that they had such a tight bond. Sloane sees it as her responsibility to care for her sisters and make sure they’re protected, at times at a cost to her own well being. Because of this it was wonderful to see Knox take care of her and let her take a break from being the one to care for everyone else. They had great chemistry. It burned off the pages. Both were likable characters, and I was really rooting for them all the way.
There’s so much to like about this novel. The small town vibes make for a cozy read. The side characters and pets brought so much levity. I loved the interactions Sloane and Knox had with their familiars. I had a great time reading this novel and highly recommend it.

I cant wait to reread closer to spooky season! I hope there will be an audiobook.
Scottish men have been overlooked by me until now. Knox has my heart. I love a small town romance but the magic and witches made this the most fun I've had reading for a while.

Love’s A Witch by Tricia O’Malley
Book one in the Scottish Charms series release date 8/26
Sloane and her sister’s Lyra and Nova return to Briarhaven Scotland to break their families centuries old curse. There she bumps heads with the towns provost Knox.
I really enjoyed this magickal book. The banter and tension between Sloane and Knox was a lot of fun to read. I also really liked getting to know the other members of her coven The Charms.
That said my rating would be higher if the book had been edited better. There were missing words as well as unnecessary ones through the book and I found that distracting.

It was a quick cozy read, knox and sloane were sweet but I think this could go through another round of edits because they were very flat.

This book was cute! It was definitely a cozy romance. It grazed moments of depth but never really dove into them, which I think is fine for a book like this. It felt a little like a Hallmark movie with its little dragon dog and miniature highland cow. Very cute, and I’ll probably read the next one — two other romances were set up, both of which I think will be fun to read. Lots of absurdly hot men — but then, why not?

After a centuries old curse has MacGregor witches running from home and love, three MacGregor sisters set out to break the curse as Sloane comes of age into her Magic. Set in a small, cozy Scottish town, the only thing that can stop the curse is the handsome town provost (mayor), the Handsome Knox Douglas, so he thinks.
This was a cute story with a fun romance and adorable town. I apparently have been loving stories set in Scotland lately. I loved Broca’s character the most.
