Once again, Susan Mallery doesn’t disappoint with Otherwise Engaged. This book takes a thoughtful look at how complicated and emotionally charged family relationships, especially between mothers and daughters, can be when past choices and secrets resurface. Mallery shows how even the strongest bonds can be tested, but also how healing is possible.

The story moves at a nice pace. The emotions exhibited by Victoria, Shannon, and their moms hit close to home. It’s a warm and relatable story that reminds us how forgiveness and understanding can go a long way.

I really hope there’s a sequel because I’d love to see what happens next with the weddings and how the relationships continue to unfold. I could not put this book down and read it in one day.
