Seven Secret Spellcasters is the 7th books in.Lynn Cahoon's Kitchen Witch Mysteries and it is a great addition to the series. The characters are likeable, the paranormal is fun and the mystery kept me guessing. Mia is a Kitchen Witch who has to take a test to complete her apprenticeship. Mia has to pick seven people who will help and support her. Her good friend Christina and fiance Levi are getting married and are having an engagement party and it is being catered by Mia's Morsels. Mia's boyfriend Trent wants to move their relationship to the next level (finally). Trent has magical powers but isn't supposed to so The Coven Board are looking into why Trent has Cerby, his hellhound and also Buddy, a baby dragon. The investigator that is sent ends up dead and Trent is a suspect. Mia's Grandmother Grans, Trent's mother Abigail, and Trent help Mia figure out who the culprit is, Mia's Morsels has a new employee Finley (Finn) and Trent and Levi's older brother Steve is in town. There is a lot going on to keep Mia busy and it keeps the story interesting and hard to put down! I have read and enjoyed all of the books in this series. This series is best read in order because of the character development. I'm looking forward to the next book to see what happens with all of these wonderful friends.

My all time favorite kitchen witch is back! Mia is a gem of a character and like the characters that Lynn Calhoun contours she is extra awesome! Then there's Mia's boyfriend Trent and Cerby. Can they be any more adorbs! Mia must clear Trent and Cerby this tume. A most enjoyable read! Thanks #Netgalley and #Kensington for the eARC in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are mine.

So wow! This series just gets better. It’s building to something big. This time Mia is testing to be recognized as a kitchen witch. At the same time she is working at the lodge in Magic Springs under a new boss, coordinating events for Mia’s Morsels with Abigail, studying potions with her grandmother, preparing for engagement parties for Christina and Levi and hosting the coven’s Halloween party.
That’s an awful lot of action to squeeze in one book but the ante was raised by the arrival of an inspector into Trent’s familiar Cerby, a hellhound in a Maltese body.
The inspector is murdered….
Mark Baldwin pulls Mia in even more on this investigation than usual, and the answers prove elusive.
The book has a teaser or a forewarning of what is to come. It appears a battle between magical forces may be on the horizon and strength is gathering in Magic Springs.
I was drawn in from the first and love all the characters and setting. I love the surprises in this book and don’t want to spoil it for any other readers. Let’s just say you are going to want to read the whole series so you can love the reveals in this book even more.
Thanks to Netgalley and Kensington Cozies for the opportunity to read this book.

Seven Secret Spellcasters is the 7th book in the Kitchen Witch series by Lynn Cahoon.
I absolutely LOVE this series! I have read every book, and it just keeps getting better.

I absolutely LOVE that this book is set during Halloween.

Mia definitely has her hands full.

Magic Springs is getting ready for all the fun activities that comes with Halloween.
Mia has a new boss at the lodge, a witchy exam coming up and her boyfriend Trent is in hot water and under suspicion and being investigated by the National Office of Magical Creatures.

Mia will do whatever it takes to help her boyfriend.

This was such a fun filled jam packed book. The character development is excellent.

I really enjoyed the mystery, kept me guessing.

Looking forward to the next book in the series.

Probably more like 4.5 stars, but I opted to round down.

I really enjoyed Seven Secret Spellcasters—it was a fun, cozy mystery with just the right touch of magic! Mia is a likable main character, and I found myself rooting for her the whole way through. The plot moved at a good pace, and the magical elements really added to the story without overwhelming the plot or taking away from it. That said, I do think I would have gotten more out of the story if I’d read the earlier books in the series. There were moments where past events or relationships were mentioned that I didn’t fully grasp. Still, even without that background, it was an entertaining and satisfying read that left me curious to go back and see how it all started! Thank you, NetGalley!

Charming cozy series with magical life all around the town. I enjoy the light atmosphere in Cahoon's mysteries... it's less about the murder and more about how all the characters deal with the situation. I loved the addition of the newcomers in this installment. I can't wait to see what happens with the surprise at the end!

Although this is a mystery I really read it for the characters. It’s the continuing storyline of Mia and her found family of witches that keeps me coming back for more. And this book didn’t disappoint. It’s a fast paced story with so many twists and turns that I didn’t want to put the book down.

I was so excited to read the seventh book in the delightful Kitchen Witch series by Lynn Cahoon. Every book in the series is great, but this one is my favorite so far. The storyline is fast-paced with some exciting developments.

Magic Springs, Idaho is in celebration mode with Halloween, several parties, and Mia's transfer of powers. Then, the National Office of Magical Creatures opens a murder investigation with Trent and Cerby in the crosshairs. Mia has her hands full with work and her mind on whether, or not, to join the coven. Of course, Mia will do whatever it takes to prove Trent and Cerby innocent of a crime---no matter what is going on with work, or the coven.

I loved the progress of the secondary characters and learning more of their background. This book can be read as a standalone, but starting with book one will give the reader the pleasure of watching the characters grow and their stories ,unfold. I would recommend this to others who enjoy paranormal mystery.
The recipe at the end of the book is for peach cobbler---the way my mom made it, too.

Thank you for the advance reader e-copy sent at my request to read and review. All thoughts and opinions are my own,

Wow! You are going to want to be prepared for a fast-moving story with lots of constantly changing parts. This adventure was very hard to put down as things were constantly in motion, and as we got answers to one situation, another one popped up to keep things moving! Mia is getting ready to take her Kitchen Witch exam and, hopefully, be initiated as a Kitchen Witch. Can she get all the studying done, set up her potions lab, do her job, set up a Halloween party for the coven, which is pushing her to join, and cater two engagement parties for Christina and Levi? Just in case that's not enough, there is an inspector coming out to figure out why Trent has received Cerby as a hellhound since he's turned over his power to Levi. When the inspector is found dead on Trent's property, will anyone actually think he's a suspect? Can Mia spare time to help Mark solve the murder while she juggles everything else going on in her life? You will definitely want to try to keep up during this delightful romp! Thanks to #Netgally, #Kensingtonbooks, and the author for an opportunity to be charmed! #SevenSecretSpellcastors #KitchenWitchMysteries #LynnCahoon #bookreview #bookideas #retiredreader

She’s Back! Mia becomes deeply involved in the investigation of the death of the National Investigator. The National Office of Magical Creatures has sent an investigator to check out their suspicions regarding Trent, Mia’s boyfriend, and Cerby, a Maltese suspected of being a hellhound.

I enjoyed the story. We, as readers learned so much about Levi & Trent’s powers, the Majors, and other magical persons in the community.
I enjoyed learning the new boss’ secrets. Mia is also trying to be ready for her first exams. She started later than most of the other kitchen witches.

I felt this story fit well into the Halloween time frame.
I was given an advanced readers copy and these are my own opinions.

We are back in Magic Springs, ID in the newest installment of the Kitchen Witch Mystery series. Mia has a lot on her plate as she prepares for a test to become a full-fledged kitchen witch, all the while working with a new boss at the Lodge, helping prepare for a couple engagement parties, and trying to help the police chief solve the murder of a leprechaun found behind Trent’s house. Add in Trent’s familiar, Cerby, a little Maltese and his best friend, Buddy, a dragon, and you are set for a fun and entertaining mystery. I recommend all the books in the series in order to keep everyone straight but definitely a worthwhile read.

Excellent addition to the Kitchen Witch series. I'm enjoying reading as Mia learns and grows in her kitchen witch training, while trying to juggle Mia's Morsels, and work her job at The Lodge. Luckily, she has plenty of friends and family to help her out. And Cerby the Maltese/hellhound and his friend Buddy the dragon are a fun addition to the witch's brew. Reading previous books helps with all the characters, but isn't necessary.
Highly recommend.

Many thanks to Kensington Publishing and NetGalley for an advance copy of this book. My thoughts and opinions are my own and without bias or favor or expectation.

Mia Malone is juggling more balls and magical creatures, human or otherwise, than ever before in Seven Secret Spellcasters in this latest addition to Lynn Cahoon’s Kitchen Witch mystery series. Mia continues to work at The Lodge to keep her catering business afloat, where she has handed off the reins to her boyfriend Trent’s mother, Abigail. As this series has progressed, the magic in Magic Springs, becomes more and more pronounced, no more so than in this entry where Cerby, Trent’s hellhound in the body of a Maltese, adopts a young, purple dragon named Buddy. Magic Springs truly is accurately named.
I really appreciate how the characters and relationships in this series are growing and evolving over time. I enjoy the basic note of truth in the relationships, especially between Mia and Trent. I’m less sure how I feel about how busy this book is which finds the series evolving from mostly character and plot driven with magical overtones to a series that is truly magic forward. I would also love to see Mia back in her kitchen running Mia’s Morsels and the storylines not quite so magic forward. I will be interested to see how the series progresses from here.

I do recommend this book, especially for fans of Lynn Cahoon and those who appreciate paranormal mysteries. 3 1/2 stars rounded up to four.

I’ve read all the books before this one (with a small exception but that doesn’t matter), and I think this might be my favorite of them all. Mia is dealing with a new boss, a new employee, 3 engagement parties, an upcoming exam, and just so many other things when there’s another murder, but this time the body is found in the woods behind Trent’s house. Poor Mia is really put through the wringer in this one. I love how we say many sides of her, and how she balances everything with humor if not much grace. There are some interesting future plotlines scattered throughout this, and I’m ready for the next one. Well-written, engaging, and a great addition to the series. Highly recommend. I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.

Thank you NetGalley and Kensington Publishing Corp. for the opportunity to read "Seven Secret Spellcasters" in exchange for my honest opinion.

This is the 7th book in the Kitchen Witch Mysteries and it was so worth waiting for! Ms. Cahoon crafted an interesting book that I read in one sitting because I couldn't stop turning the pages. The plot was interesting and continued on themes from previous books from the series.

Mia Malone who owns her own catering company Mia's Morsels was preparing for her testing and when she tested the highest of any kitchen witch ever, she started getting a lot of attention (and pressure) to join the coven.

Mr. Darcy has been lonely since Dorian left his body. Trent Majors' (Mia's boyfriend and owner of Majors Grocery) has a new Maltese named Cerby who Mr. Darcy likes but Cerby has his own "pet" a dragon named Buddy.

Everyone is preparing for Christina and Levi's engagement party, Halloween and Mary Alice Carpenter (Grans) engagement party. In the middle of this of course, Mia gets involved in a murder. Why was Trent being investigated by the coven. It's known that he gave up his powers to Levi.

There is a new person at the lodge Blake Sandburg who has some secret going on. There are several new people to meet in this story. Including a new relative, a new employee of Abigail's named Finley Shiley. As Mia loves to collect waifs and strays, Finn soon ends up living at the schoolhouse. We learn more about Gloria and how she came to be in Mia's possession. Another interesting piece is learning how many people are actually part of the coven that Mia didn't even know about.

The story was set up to end with trouble brewing so hopefully there will be another new addition to the series soon. This book is definitely deserving of more than 5 stars!

It is almost Halloween, and the families and businesses of Magic Springs, Idaho, are gearing up for the celebrations. For trainee kitchen witch Mia Malone, it is always a busy time of year, but it seems as if everything is happening at once! She has a new boss at the Lodge, her first witch exams to study for, her grans is about to get engaged, and all while Mia’s boyfriend Trent and his familiar, Cerby are being investigated by the National Office of Magical Creatures! When a body is found behind Trent's home, local police chief Mark Baldwin asks Mia to help with the witchy side of the investigation!  Juggling the victim’s clandestine assignations, a new friend for Cerby who just happens to be a dragon, her studying, and two engagement parties means Mia has her work cut out for her. If she can't save Trent, then who can?

I was able to read an advanced copy of this thanks to NetGalley and the publishers, Kensington Publishing, Kensington Cosies, but the opinions expressed are my own. Book 7 in this brilliant series was a wonderful read, and I loved it. There is such a lot going on, not all of which is sorted, that I can't wait for book 8. Mia is one of my favourite cosy crime protagonists, and this is easy to highly recommended.

This is probably my favorite book in the series. Mia is coming into her own as a witch and is getting ready for her test. Cerby got bored in training camp and brought a dragon to life as a friend. And a leprechaun who was sent to investigate Cerby and Trent has been found dead on Trent's property. A great addition to the series.

I love the Kitchen Witch series from Lynn Cahoon and Seven Secret Spellcasters SO much. The 7th and newest of the series, brings us to Mia's certification as a witch and shifting of power. The anticipation of her testing isn't the only thing that has her in a sweat! She is discovering that many around her are witches too which makes life a little easier, but naturally other things arrive to make up for that. Cerby, the adorable Maltese, got lonely at familiar camp, so he called/created a friend just as the National Office of Magical Creatures sends someone to investigate the unusual circumstances of his arrival. It helps that his dragon buddy is little, at least for now! It doesn't help that a body is found on Trent's property.
Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington Cozies for allowing me to read and share my enjoyment of Seven Secret Spellcasters. It is a joy to bring Lynn Cahoon's books to the attention of my friends and followers. Loved it, loved it, loved it!

Loved reading this book and really enjoy the series. Looking forward to more books in this series can't wait.

Thoroughly enjoyed reading about Mia and her adventures. I haven't read her previous books in this series so it was a little difficult to follow all the relationships but still enjoyed the paranormal mystery especially Buddy. Would definitely recommend but reading the series from the beginning is probably best. I received an e-book from NetGalley in return for an unbiased review.
