Seven Year Itch by Amy Daws was just what I needed!
I absolutely loved this book. It had a good pacing, it was really cute, and the chemistry and sweet romance parts were truly beautiful.
I thought the story was so fun and sweet.

Amy Daws writes the kind of books that have me laughing not only when I'm reading, but for weeks on end afterwards. Cat Daddy Calder had me feeling so many emotions as his story with Dakota progressed, and as unhinged as the story got at times I was in love. It was an instant preorder for me that I felt SO strongly about that I accidentally did it twice!
Daws delivered an on-brand book, filled with heart, spice and a lot of laughter! I love the Fletcher family so much already, and Seven Year Itch did not disappoint! I love how this family can't stay out of each other's business and their inventive ways of going about that. The meddling is top notch, and throw in the destination wedding and I was cackling constantly! I love how Daws balances the excitement of what will come next, with the smidge of predictability that romance novels bring. They just feel like home.
I am also a sucker for a strong female character who knows what she wants. Dakota's post divorce journey had me whooping it up and cheering for her from page 1. I loved how she found herself and her voice, even though there were eye rolling moments because- you're adults. Grow up. But it didn't overshadow the book as a whole and didn't take away from the moments I loved SO much. And I LOVEDDDD Dakota so much.
Overall, yes. I bought two copies. I'm not even sad.

This was such a great story! I was hooked right off bat when I almost died laughing! Teddy and Erin are two of my favorite narrators. They both do such a great job expressing the characters emotions. I wish I could give this story more stars because not only was it hilariously funny, the sex was off the charts hot.

Book 2 of the series and can be read as a standalone but I do recommend reading the first book as it is the same characters and some spoiler in this book.
This book focuses on Calder who is looking for a date to his brother's wedding. He ends up with his nemesis Dakota. This is an enemies to lovers, small town romance.
Calder is aloof and is happy to be alone in the mountains with his brothers and his cat. The mix of Dakota created great tension and banter. Dakota is recently divorced and looking to find herself. They helped each other grow while making this spicy.
There's humor and also depth to the story. Teddy Hamilton and Erin Mallon were perfect as these characters.
look forward to reading more from this series.
Thank you @htp_hive @htpbooks @htpbooks_audio for a copy of this.

I love these mountain men SO MUCH! I was so excited to read this story after absolutely DEVOURING the first book in the series. As a Colorado girl, I am always excited to read any series that takes place in my home state.
The story was really cute and SPICY (which I didn’t mind at all). The banter is what got me, and I found myself chuckling multiple times each chapter. The story had good pacing and it kept my attention to the point I didn’t want to put it down. Amy has built such a cozy, funny and ROMANTIC little community in the mountains and I can’t wait for the next book! Bonus points for all the cute animals :-)

'Seven Year Itch' by Amy Daws is a fun, enemies to lovers story following Dakota, a recent divorcee trying to get her grove back, and Calder, a confirmed bachelor living on a mountain with his brothers and his cat. This hilarious story includes big "cat daddy" energy, the one bed trope, and a chance meeting in a sex club.
Overall, I found this to be a fun, funny read. It's a follow up to Daws' 'Nine Month Contract' and I will for sure be picking up any forthcoming installments in this series.
Thank you to Amy Daws and Harlequin Trade Publishing for the ARC of 'Seven Year Itch' in exchange for an honest review.

Who knew that a chance encounter at a sex club between two people that loathe each other would make for such a great meet cute? Amy Daws, that's who.
Dakota is recently divorced from her disparaging husband and looking to find herself again, and Calder is her best friend's sexy brother in law who doesn't do relationships. This should make him the perfect man to help her explore her post-divorce sexuality without the complications of feelings getting involved. There's just one problem. They have hated one another for seven years after a home renovation gone wrong. But after the unexpected sex club meeting and being forced to share a room at a destination wedding, sparks fly in more ways than one, with enemies becoming friends enemies with benefits. And what follows is chaotically fun, unexpectedly sweet, and seriously spicy.
I love the quirks and imperfections that Amy Daws writes into her characters. Dakota's fear of birds and using Calder's face as shield from a birdcage made me literally lol. And Calder's over the top love of cats was as hilarious as it was endearing. But while each MC has qualities that make them charming, neither character is perfect. Dakota's insecurity and second guessing makes her willfully oblivious to the changes occurring to Calder and their relationship. And fear of getting hurt again causes her to lash out at times. Calder's baggage has led to such an unwillingness to rock the boat or change the status quo that his life has become stagnant. He doesn't allow himself to want more, so when he does, he struggles to voice it. Apart, they're kind of a mess. But together they're a mess that works. Their fiery banter and the tension that comes with loving to fight with one another is steamy and entertaining, while their character growth continues subtly in the background. It's not in your face but it is undeniably there, and the tenderness that develops between Calder and Dakota sort of sneaks up on them (and you). Add in the way Calder praises Dakota and helps her get her confidence back, Dakota helps Calder to see his own potential, a sexy power point checklist, and a family who is meddlesome in the best way, and you get a romance that is equal parts funny, spicy, and sweet.
This has been a fun series so far. I adore Everly and her scheming, matchmaking ways, and I can't wait until she works her magic on her uncle Luke!
I received an advanced reader copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving my honest review. Thank you to NetGalley and Harlequin Trade Publishing/Canary Street Press for the ARC!

round up 4.75⭐
Calder is looking for a fun time, not a long time. He is working in the family business. Which is how he met Dakota seven years ago.
Dakota is recently divorced and is looking to gain her confidence and have some fun. She runs into the person despised the most, Calder. Things start to change when the MCs come to a mutual agreement.
I had so much fun with this book. The bickering, teasing, and flirting were everything! This book has me laughing and giggling. I have enjoyed each book in this series so far. I can't wait for book 3!!
tropes:
enemies to lovers
Force proximity
One bed

This book is comedic gold. I loved Nine Month Contract so much, I didn’t think this one would be able to compete but somehow, Amy Daws did it again! Her writing is sharp, hilarious, and endlessly heartwarming. Her characters are real, flawed, and so relatable.
I absolutely loved the dynamic between Calder and Dakota. Their feisty banter, the tension, and the arguing made for the best foreplay! The moment Calder realizes he doesn’t actually hate Dakota gave 10 Things I Hate About You epic speech vibes:
“But mostly I hate the way
I don’t have you—
not even close,
not even a little bit,
not even at all.”
Ughhhh, you know a book is good when it reminds you of one of the greatest classics of all time!
This is the kind of book that leaves you feeling lighter—and a bit more confident in yourself. It’s so fun and will have you laughing the whole way through. This book should be on everyone’s TBR!

I loved this book so much!! This book is the second in a series and could be read as a stand alone, but I think it’s better and adds a lot of context to read Nine Month Contract first. I was lucky enough to get an ARC of Seven Year Itch, and I went back and read Nine Month Contract before I dived into this one. They were my first books by this author!
Calder and Dakota were such a ride. I thought the whole book was going to be the trip to Mexico, but it was so much more. Calder was so adorable, and I loved seeing Dakota’s growth throughout the story. She healed so much along the way and it was beautiful to see.
I cannot wait to read the next book in the series!! I plan to go back now and read previous books from this author to learn more about some of the cast of characters that pop up in here.

This book was everything! Enemies to lovers, he takes care of her when she’s sick, forced proximity, there’s only one bed!! Not to mention a tattooed, bearded, flannel wearing mountain man. I was hooked and intrigued in every way possible! I loved everything about this book and of course the ever coveted HEA was an absolute chefs kiss!

This was a cute fun book. I appreciated the focus on confidence and overcoming body issues - however I didn’t feel like the growth was really shown on page, Dakota just seemed to gain confidence out of no where. Similarly, Calder’s growth in defying others expectations seemed pretty sudden.
I didn’t love the banter - it seemed forced and sometimes pretty mean. I don’t think I’m a fan of the rugged mountain man/cowboy caricature especially when he is a player and talks dirty, it always rubs me the wrong way - but I could see how others would enjoy it.

Another great addition to the Mountain Men series. I love that it started where the last book left off. Dakota and Calder had such good chemistry the whole time. Enemies to lovers with funny little bit throughout and the same loving "I would do anything for you" family as a supportive backbone. It is a smutty romance but also talks about womens empowerment, discovering yourself through divorce, the patriarchy, and how society values women more when they're young, skinny, and pretty. These were topic that personally hit close but I know they will with others. I can't wait to read the next book in November.

This novel follows recently divorced, Dakota, and the middle brother in the series, Calder Fletcher. Dakota and Calder don't get along due to an incident that happened over 7 years ago when Calder was helping Dakota build her dream home. The novel starts out as the whole family and friends head to Mexico for the wedding of Wyatt and Trista (from the first novel), and due to a meddling niece, Dakota and Calder end up sharing a room. After some heated moments on the trip, the two decide to sleep together as what happens in Mexico stays in Mexico. However, once they come back to their small-town in Colorado, the two decide to become friends with benefits. What happens when enemies start to turn into lovers?
I liked this book better than the first one. There was definitely less cringey descriptions - except for the part about referring to Calder's cat as a pussy. Stay away from things like that and you would have a pretty great book. I really enjoyed that this book was about self worth and confidence - the development of Dakota's character from how she was feeling about herself and life with her ex husband to the growth she showed through her journey was excellent - everyone has insecurities. The story has a little enemies to lovers vibe going on with how Calder and Dakota can't stand each other and throw barbs at each other every chance they get. I kind of wish they would have gone to the sex club a bit more. Also the covers are so cute - I really like the artist who did the covers!
For me this book was a 3.5-4 stars. My only tip is to continue working on dialogue as some of it is incredibly cringey as stated above, but at least this time nothing was compared to a baby's foreskin lol

Thank you to NetGalley, Harlequin Trade Publishing and Canary Street Press for providing me with an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.
I really really wanted to love this book. I love the first in the series, Nine Month Contract. One of the best and funniest books I've read so far this year, so I was super excited for this one. Unfortunately it just didn't live up to my hopes.
The vibes were off between Calder and Dakota from the start. The miscommunication was over the top and I felt like Dakota was just plain mean. I kept hoping things would turn around, but nothing really changed until the end and then it felt forced. I thought Calder deserved more from Dakota.
That being said, there were still parts I enjoyed and if my expectations weren't so high from the first book I probably would have enjoyed this more. Hoping for more of a connection with Luke & Addison's story in book 3.

3.75 is my final rating rounded up to 4!
I absolutely love the fletcher brothers and am so excited to delve into Calders world
This enemies to lovers is so hard to put down! I found myself not getting enough every time i picked up this book
The only thing that kept from 5 stars is the character development. It was SO GOOD but around 75% its like they took a step back and it became really frustrating that Dakota had the thoughts she did

I LOVED Nine Month Contract so I was excited about this book! The main characters are so cute, easy to read, and relatable. The banter was so good. I can’t wait for the next one in the series!

I picked up blindsided a couple years ago via a social media, and was an immediate fan. I then proceeded to make my way through Amy's entire backlist over the course of a few weeks. The first book in the mountain men matchmaker series was, um, interesting, shall we say. It felt like it was missing some of the depth and instead played more into the humor but not necessarily in a good way. That being said I still quickly pre ordered this one because daws is an auto buy author and I couldn't wait to dive into. And this one again tries to play more into the humor with Dakota and Calder's enemies to lovers story.
The enemies loathing of each other was a bit too much for me, the spice didn't really feel steamy, and there were some pretty heavy issues that were glossed over or had rushed/lacked significant resolution.
I also loved the cameos from past books, getting to see what past couples are up to! but I think I keep hoping for the level of depth and heart in the Harris Brothers series to be in this one too and it didn't quite check all my boxes in that regard. That aside though, I cannot wake for Luke and Addison's story and I will be running to pre-order that ASAP.
Thank you Netgalley and Harlequin Trade Publishing | Canary Street Press for the ARC in exchange for my review!

Tropes:

I am loving this Mountain Man series! This is the second book in the series, but the third Fletcher brother if you are keeping count. We originally meet Dakota in Last On The List (Max Fletcher's story), so it is definitely worth a read for more backstory on her, but you won't be lost if you haven't read it yet. I loved Wyatt Fletcher in Nine Month Contract, the first in the Mountain Men series, and Calder's story was just as good. The banter between Calder and Dakota was a little bit hatred mixed with a heat that turned that tension straight into flirting. The more time they spent together, the more those conversations became what they, and I, looked forward to. They may have known each other for years before, but they never really understood each other until now and I loved watching those slow realizations for each of them. Dakota and Calder have both had a hard time the last several years that have changed them both and made them different people than they were when they originally met and worked together on her house renovation. But now, they see each other in a different light and that sexual tension starts to look less and less like something they want to avoid and more and more like something they don't want to stop. And of course, none of this story would be possible without my favorite meddler, Everly, whose story I cannot wait to get my hands on! I loved this book and these characters so much! This Mountain Men series is shaping up to be Amy Daws' best series yet!! Thank you to NetGalley and Harlequin Trade Publishing for the chance to read this ARC!

When your not feeling well this was a great story to read. It held my attention throughout and entertained me from beginning to end. It was honestly a great story of second chances, of the thin line between love and hate. As always Amy manages to entertain me with her characters and the witty banter that goes on between the characters.
Amy has done it again with her words and I cannot wait to see what she brings us next!
