Sucked me right into the world of the mountain men. Juicyyyyyyy but made me laugh. Fun read to get through the craziness of May.

I really tried to push through reading this book but I just cannot. The writing style is not for me, the characters are unlikeable to me and their voice is very childish and not appealing. I just can't push through this one, I thought it was going to be more romcom than raunchy and it just isn't my style of book.
I received an eARC thanks to Netgalley and Canary Street Press, all opinions are my own.

When grumpy mountain man Calder needs a no-strings date to his brother’s tropical destination wedding, the last person he expects to end up sharing a room with is Dakota—his sister-in-law’s fiery best friend and sworn nemesis. But when a heated moment in paradise blurs the line between enemies and something much steamier, what was supposed to stay on vacation refuses to be left behind. Now back in his small mountain town, Calder is stunned when newly divorced Dakota shows up asking for his help to get her confidence back. Their hilarious, fiery dynamic starts to shift into something deeper—but with meddling family, unexpected feelings, and plenty of unresolved tension, Calder and Dakota must decide if their vacation fling has what it takes to turn into forever. This is the 2nd book in the Mountain Men Matchmaker series. Calder and Dakota’s no-strings fling had me laughing and swooning. Their chemistry was also HOT, the banter was ON POINT, and I loved how real their struggles felt. Also the sex/kink exploration was so refreshing and didn’t feel taboo at all.

Thank you to NetGalley and Canary Street Press for providing the ARC.
So Amy Daws is a new author for me, and after Nine Month Contract, I was eager to explore this world that she crafted. Nine Month Contract wasn't quite there for me, but I was intrigued by Calder as the resident black sheep.
I found this story to be a more enjoyable read than Nine Month Contract, likely because the surrogacy story between Wyatt and Trista made me a bit uncomfortable, but also because this book, overall, was better written in my opinion. I thought the characters were more fleshed out and their story had a natural progression to it that Wyatt and Trista's didn't. Their story felt forced in parts, where Calder and Dakota's felt relatively seamless.
It's an easy, enjoyable read that doesn't take itself too seriously. The characters are fun and the plot is simple - definitely high on the escapism reads.

I really liked the story line and characters. It followed the enemies to lovers. However, I was not a fan of the sex club scenes. I feel this book could survive without that added in.

I’ve been following the Fletcher family series for quite a while now and was looking forward to seeing all the characters get their HEA. I liked the characters of Dakota and Calder and their chemistry, but I felt like their romance fell a bit flat. I would have liked to see their relationship develop more while they were still in Mexico. The times they went to the sex club didn’t really advance the plot nor did they explore or discover anything about their relationship while there.
The story was cute and at times spicy, but I felt like it was lacking some of the humour and banter that Amy Daws’ books usually have. All in all it was okay, but not my favourite of the series.
I’m looking forward to Everly’s book. She’s in for it.

Seven Year Itch is book 2 in the Mountain Men Matchmaker series and follows middle brother Calder as he battles his attraction to sister-in-law Cozy's best friend, and the devil herself, Dakota.
Calder is the middle child of the three Fletcher brothers that live on Fletcher mountain. And we all know about middle sibling syndrome. He feels like he is the screw up in the family. Yes he made mistakes growing up, but who has not? His brothers constantly give him the grunt work for their construction company since he usually does not have plans and will get it done.
Dakota is Cozy's best friend. Cozy is married to the Fletcher oldest brother, Max, who is a successful businessman in Boulder and does not live or work with his brothers. She owns her own business making fun t-shirts and holds classes in her shop for kids and adults to design and make their own shirts and learn new techniques.
Seven years ago, Dakota hired Calder to remodel her house. That endeavor left her in tears and on a mad hunt to replace her ruined dress, three days before her wedding. She has hated him ever since. But the feeling was mutual since every time he needed a decision made about something in the house, she took forever and then would change her mind. So she became the devil in his eyes.
But even through all of that turmoil, someone is desperate to turn them in to a couple. So much so, that they decide to rewrite the profile information on Calder's dating apps. And reading what was written is hilarious.
But suddenly Calder and Dakota seem to be running in to each other at interesting times and places. The first time was a complete fluke, but sadly was not kind to him. But is there more than one person conspiring to match Calder with Dakota, or vice versa? It appears so.
When they finally get together, it is supposed to be just for one night. But what happens in the palapa, stays in the palapa. Until it no longer does.
One of the main things I really enjoyed about Dakota was her support for Calder and his furniture building. So much so that she helps him list a few items on her website and sells them for him. This is something he never thought to do, but it was his way of staying close to his dad. It was something he learned from his dad and they did together. She helped him make his love for his dad in to a business endeavor.
In addition, she listened to him about they way he felt working with his brothers and how he felt taken advantage of. She asked him thoughtful questions. And when it was necessary, she stood up to them for him.
Calder caught me off guard with some of the things he did seven years ago to the donut that Dakota married. And he never said a word. Yes, it may have hurt her to learn that he knew about some things, but when push came to shove, she found out things about Calder and his integrity in the process.
It has been a Teddy Hamilton and Erin Mallon month for me. I have listened to at least three books narrated by him and he never disappoints. Two of these books have been in duet and I love him in these. I am currently listening to my third audiobook narrated by Erin this month and again, it is a joy. I love her her voice and listening to her and Teddy in duet was such a pleasure.

Eeeek
This was AMAZING
plot, spice, characters- all an 11/10 for me!!!
Whether you’re new to Amy, or have read her other books this is a must pick up

We are back on Fletcher Mountain where Wyatt and Trista are getting married. Matt has gifted them with a destination wedding for the whole family. Caldor wants to find his plus one and has posted on dating sites. He wakes one day to check, but, some smart alec has changed his profile making him unmatchable. Racing thru the brothers homes, they all think it is funny, but nope, it was not them. As a last stitch effort he goes to the local sex club in search. All he finds is Trista's best friend in a situation. Against what she intends for her evening, he attempts yo drag her out. All that does is get him banned. Grumpy that he is going as a single he finds the only other single was Dakota. The very person he is angry with. They both are. Turns out niece Everly pulled the shenanigan with the sites AND the resort sleeping arrangements. Caldor and Dakota are set to share a bungalo. The struggles and arguments are funny and they succumb to their situation. Once home, they both are trying to run from those feelings, but we all know the Fletcher men. How long and how much pull and tug will we read? This is a fantastic, hot series with a great story line!

I love Amy and the worlds she creates !
I was so excited to read this book and dive back into this world. Amy has a way of storytelling that is emotional and honest, that will make you laugh as you blush. She just writes characters that are more real than fictional and that’s what keeps bringing me back.
Calder and Dakota are the epitome of enemies to lovers, and we know how that goes. But these two have insecurities and vulnerabilities that are going to make them so relatable and make them almost real which makes this trope we think we know into something a little different.
I couldn’t put this one down, and I really didn’t want it to end. This is part of a series, and it can be read as a total standalone, but if you know me at all my brain does not work that way, so I suggest you start at the beginning with Max and Cozy (Last on the List).

Thank you to NetGalley and @CanaryStreetPress for this arc in exchange for an honest review.
Seven Year Itch by Amy Daws is the second installment on the Mountain Men Matchmaker. It serves up a perfect blend of laugh-out-loud banter, sizzling chemistry, and just the right amount of emotional depth. Amy nails the enemies to lovers trope with a hero who’s equal parts rugged mountain man and soft-hearted cat dad (yes, I fell a little in love or a lot!), and an FMC who’s fiery, sarcastic, and fresh off a divorce with something to prove.
The setup is pure romcom gold wedding shenanigans, tropical mishaps, a surprise room share and it only gets better when Dakota shows up later in his mountain town with an outrageous proposition. Their back and forth is electric, full of hilarious jabs and tension that slowly gives way to some genuinely touching moments. Bonus points for the meddling family antics and the quirky animal cameos (the cat is a star in his own right).
I docked it a sliver because some of the drama felt a little over-the-top in the final third, but overall? This was pure serotonin. If you like your romance loud, sexy, and full of laughs—with a gruff man who turns into absolute mush for his girl—this one’s a must-read.
4.25 Stars!

I enjoyed Seven Year Itch. Dakota and Calder are attending a destination wedding. They are forced to share a room and bed. Dakota and Calder have hated each other for seven years. The night before going home they decide to have a one night stand. I loved the banter between the two characters. I also enjoyed the dual point of view.

4.5 stars. My favorite parts of 9 month contract were every interaction between Dakota and Calder so I was beyond thrilled to get this ARC! I loved the fighting and bickering throughout the story and Amy Daws did a phenomenal job with shifting the tension from anger to sexual in a subtle way. I loved Dakota reclaiming her confidence and they way it was not tied to Calder. I honestly would just be happy with a novella of them bickering and making up because of the humor and the tension.
I honestly loved everything about this book except for the stubbornness from both Dakota and Calder. Having the 3rd act breakup be caused by stubbornness made me want to scream at everyone because it is my least favorite trope, second only to miscommunication. Blaming the fear of vulnerability on not wanting to "lose" a fight felt so childish when everything else about their relationship felt mature.
Thank you to NetGalley, Harlequin Trade Publishing, and Amy Daws for the free eARC.

Calder Fletcher is a big, tattooed, grumpy lumberjack of a man who wants nothing to do with love—especially not with Dakota, the woman he’s been feuding with for the past seven years. Their rivalry? It all started with a disastrous home remodel, and things have been tense (and a little petty—he keeps calling her “Karen”) ever since.
Enter Evie, Calder’s mischievous niece playing matchmaker once again .She knows exactly what she’s doing when she arranges for Calder and Dakota to share a room during the family’s Hawaii vacation. What starts out as mutual annoyance slowly shifts into unexpected chemistry, genuine support, and maybe even something real.
Dakota is rebuilding her confidence after a painful divorce, and Calder—grumpy as he is—starts opening up and chasing his woodworking dreams again. Their growth felt real, their banter was fun, and watching Calder fall for her was so satisfying.
This was such a fun, heartfelt enemies-to-lovers romance with just the right amount of sass and sweetness. Another great addition to the Fletcher family series!
Thank you to NetGalley and HarperCollins for the advanced copy—I’m leaving this review voluntarily!

the most perfect, entertaining audio for my lead up to summer! Calder & Dakota are perfect together with their banter and they take take the teach me/spicy lessons to another level and i loved everything about this book.:

The first couple chapters were rough because the book was trying to be cheeky and it wasn't working but overall I really liked this book. They couldn't stand each other but the attraction was just too strong. I love how much they encouraged each other and believed in each other. She wanted him to succeed so bad in his furniture making and would help him any way that she could.
I received an arc through netgalley.

“There is no denying Calder Fletcher is insanely hot. I knew it from the first time I met him at that poker night at Max’s house over seven years ago.”
Back on Fletcher Mountain, but this time to see Calder Fletcher find his happily ever after! It’s been seven years since he met Dakota and did her home renovation, they have been enemies ever since. But now, Dakota is newly divorced and determined to find herself and what she likes, with the help of Calder.
These two reconnected in an unconventional setting but then were thrown together by the family matchmaker. It was fun to see how they interacted when forced and then even more so when they began spending time together. Another great trip to the mountain! Can’t wait for Luke next.
🔥: “Just trust me, Dakota.”
Thank you @amydawsauthor for the ARC!

I love a good steamy enemies to lovers, except where they ever really enemies?!
Not to mention when those walls come down and they get to know each other and realize there’s so much more than they imagined? It’s perfect!
There’s enough lightheartedness that will have you giggling but also so much tension and steam that you’ll be thrilled!
So so good!

This book was sweet, steamy, sassy, sprinkled with banter, and with a healthy dose of finding your own self-worth that made it so much more.
Calder and Dakota dislike each other. It goes back to a time when he was hired to renovate her house and things didn’t go well. And yes, this woman can hold a grudge. Which is why, when they go to Mexico for his brother’s wedding, having them stay in the same room due to a booking niece-provided “mistake” can prove… disastrous.
They argue. They banter. They… flirt, I guess, in their very unique way? Their hate for each other burns hot, but in close quarters, it becomes hard to deny that all the bickering and creative name-calling is hiding some serious chemistry.
And they give in. Once. Just to take the edge off. What happens in Mexico stays in Mexico. Isn’t that how the saying goes?
However, that only brings on the dreaded "what if?" While they would both probably deny it, they can’t stop thinking about it and wanting more.
And after a disastrous marriage, Dakota is ready to find the confidence she’s lost and learn some new moves. What better way to do that than with someone who’s already proven to be… skilled?
So they work out a list of things to experience. And let me tell you—it’s so good. It had me kicking my feet because their banter never stops.
Even when feelings start to rise to the surface. Even when they start trusting each other and revealing more about their past and present, until it's very clear that yes, they’re pretty much meant to be.
I loved the message of the book. More than romance and (very well-written) smexy scenes, there’s a woman who’s regaining her self-confidence and being herself with a man who has some things to work out himself to realize he’s worth so much more than everyone else thinks he is.
What if the one for you is actually someone who challenges you? Someone who pushes all your buttons? And what if that serves to free you and show you just how good life and love can be? Pretty perfect, huh?

Another super spicy, HILARIOUS book in the Mountain Men matchmakers series that has cat daddy Calder getting stuck with Dakota - the woman who hates him but is recently divorced and wants a no-strings affair. Full of hijinks, sex-club kink, a meddling niece and well-meaning brothers. If you love enemies to lovers, small town romances and authors like Meghan Quinn and Tessa Bailey or Amy Barry's McBride brothers of Montana series, this is one you won't want to miss! It was also excellent on audio. I can't wait to read the next book in the series. Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an early digital and audio copy in exchange for my honest review!
