You know what they say, there’s a fine line between love and hate! Seven Year Itch was the second book in Amy’s Mountain Men Matchmaker series. It can be read as a stand-alone but it does have spoilers! It was full of laughs, lots of hate, and all the heart!

Calder just wanted to bring a random girl to his brother’s tropical getaway wedding. But someone in the family recked havoc on his dating profile which forced him to go alone. If that wasn’t bad enough, once he arrived he found out he would have to share a room with his arch nemesis…Dakota. They have hated each other for years but would that change while being in such close quarters?

Cat daddy!!! Oh how I loved Milkshake!! Seriously, this series has been amazing. So much body and relationship positivity! I loved how Dakota was such a strong person who went after what she wanted even if it was hard. She may have had some second thoughts, but who doesn’t!! And Calder, what a sweetheart! Such a people pleaser without even realizing it! These two had such a fun relationship. I loved all the banter but felt the hurt when they went too far. So glad that they had a little help with the family matchmaker! Can’t wait to see these boys again!!

Book 2 in the Mountain Men series, I love these brothers!!
This was a fun highly entertaining read! I ate this right up in a day. It had the perfect amount of banter, cheesy humor, and character development!

You don’t need to read book 1 to have a good time reading this one, but I would still recommend because that one was just as good as this one!

Calder Fletcher just wants to have fun and have no serious connections with women, unless it’s his cat, Milkshake. However, he soon finds himself trapped with only one bed at a resort in Mexico with his enemy, his brother’s wife’s best friend, Dakota. Trying to not make a big scene for his brother’s destination wedding, Calder sucks it up and bunks with Dakota. Things turn steamy and after they return home, Dakota asks Calder to continue their time together to help with her confidence post recent divorce.

My favorite things in this book:
Cat daddy + tattooed mountain man MMC
Midsize curvy + fiery FMC
She says, “Crawl to me”
Enemies with benefits!!
Mid-30s FMC, early 40s MMC

If you like Meghan Quinn, you will love Amy Daws!

- "you don't have to like me to fuck me"

LOOK NO FURTHER ! 🤍

I’m having a blast reading Amy Daws’ Mountain Men Matchmaker Series. Book 1, The Nine Month Contract, featured Wyatt and Trista; book 2, The Seven Year Itch, is the story of Wyatt’s brother Calder and Dakota.

Calder is the type of guy who takes his cat (Milkshake) for walks in a baby carrier on his chest. Yet, he tends to be known as the textbook middle child and plays into that—not taking things too seriously and being goofy. Dakota is recently divorced, ready to embrace the new her—curves and all—what her ex did not accept. The characters were so different from Book 1, and I appreciated it.

Calder and Dakota have some contentious history and truly work that enemies-to-lovers trope. Still, there’s so much great banter that I laughed several times throughout the story. I loved how they learned about themselves and grew emotionally, though their relationship was temporary.

Of course, readers can expect fun, lots of laughter, and romance—the spicy scenes were rockin’. Calder surprised me a few times. He is a “mountain man,” but he is open to other things. And I like that!

I’m eager to read Luke’s story, the youngest brother’s, next. I know it will be fun!

Enemies to Lovers, Matchmaking Niece, Cat Daddy, Boss Lady Business Owner, and One Bed—what more could you ask for in the second installment of the Mountain Men Matchmaker Series?

Calder and Dakota have a history marked by verbal sparring and mutual animosity. Initially, you might expect a straightforward enemies-to-lovers story, but a chance encounter at a sex club reveals that this is not your typical trope. An incident from the past has ignited a long-standing grudge between them, but fortunately, Calder has a matchmaking niece who recognizes the underlying spark that could ignite a passionate flame under the right circumstances.

I loved this story, particularly the forced proximity and the build up to Calder and Dakota realizing they are meant to be together. The witty banter and numerous LOL moments combined with a amazing cast of meddling family and friends Seven Year Itch it a hilarious read that leaves you wanting your own cat-daddy mountain man.

This series is so fun! I love the enemies to lovers romance between Dakota and Calder, facilitated by meddling niece Everly. I really loved Dakota learning to regain her confidence post-divorce, and Calder really works hard on getting away from the middle child syndrome in his family. Throw in a sex club and a destination wedding, and you have a wild romance!

A spicy and hilarious sequel to Nine Month Contract! It is Calder Fletcher’s turn to face the machinations of his niece Everly. Although Everly is studying abroad, she still finds a way to meddle in Calder’s love life. After doing a remodel on Dakota Schaefer’s home, he and Dakota have barely been civil to each other. She owns a T-Shirt and more business in town and is recovering from a recent divorce. Imagine his surprise when he finds Dakota at the Lexon Club, a swinger’s club. Why does she feel the need to visit the club? When he learns her purpose for visiting the club, he finds himself offering to help her complete her power point list of, well you need to read the book to find out what that is! During their time away with his family, for his brother’s wedding, they find themselves sharing a room and slowly a simmering attraction develops between them. When concerned that Dakota will never know who he really is, beyond the cat father of Milkshake, he shares his entire past. Will they finally realize that the heat between them is not anger, but desire and love? Laugh out loud dialog keeps the story moving at a fast pace. This was a fantastic read! It was a great enemies to lovers story. Just from all the fighting and bickering, you could tell Calder and Dakota had incredible chemistry. They definitely said some harsh truths to each other, things neither of them was ready to hear, but I loved that they always came back, apologized, and actually talked things through. I’m so glad they got their happy ending. I really enjoyed this one, and I’m loving this series more with each book. I can’t wait for the next one!

Cute and sexy read with some laughs, this enemies to lovers romance features Dakota a recent divorcee getting her grove back and avowed tomcat mountain man Calder. I read this as a standalone but it is book two in a series. Thanks to NetGalley and Canary Street Press/ Harlequin for an advanced copy for an honest review.

5 Things Take an Unexpected Turn Stars!!

I’ve been so looking forward to Calder’s book that the minute it hit my kindle that I dove in right in the middle of my work day. Because… Calder, Mountain Man and All the Laughs were coming my way.

Ms. Daws has delivered big with this book. I mean the opening prologue alone had me cackling LOL. The fact that Dakota who is Calder’s archnemesis was pure perfection. Between her sassy comebacks and not willing to take anything from this man I just knew that their time together at Wyatt and Trish’s wedding was going to be epic.

When they all landed in paradise and found themselves sharing not only a cabin but a bed too, I literally said out loud to myself I wonder how long it’s going to be before their hatred turned into some of the steaminess that has been bubbling right under the surface for the last seven years. And while it takes a little while for them to cross the proverbial line, the wait was so worth it. Talk about needing to cool off… there’s some serious dirty talk and sexy times that I’m sure I had a blush on my face for most of the book!

Between Calder’s self talk and Dakota doing everything possible to avoid what she knows she shouldn’t want had me rolling. The fact that the entire Fletcher family is in paradise together, resulting in some of the wittiest banter ever, I loved how these two gave in and admitted that sometimes hate really can turn to love. One thing is for sure, Dakota will keep Calder on his toes for their entire life!

This is the perfect addition to this series. I’ve already bought the audiobook and it’s going to be my listen while driving up the coast to see some friends because I just know that having these characters brought to life by Teddy Hamilton and Erin Mallon will be a fabulous listening experience.

We are back at Matchmaker Mountain, to focus on Calder and his need for dating apps. But, not to be surprised, his match maker niece, Everly, is still meddling. Fast forward to Mexico for his brothers wedding and the #onlyonebed trope, with his enemy - Dakota. Will the fling continue back home?

I did miss the banter, the animals and the humor from book 1.

Tropes:
🌸 only one bed
❤️ enemies to lovers
🌸 smex club

4 stars and 4/5 on spicy scale

I thought this was a super fun second book in Amy Daws' Mountain Man Matchmaker series. The setting of these books is one of my favorites, a small rustic town in the mountains, everyone knows each other and their business, with very strong family connections in this story. Dakota and Calder had great tension, banter and very hot emotions, when it came to each other. This was very enemies to lover trope and really did a great job of cementing that enemies feel in the first half. Both characters had a lot going on in their lives and definitely got off on the wrong foot after dealing with some pretty hard stuff. I love Dakota, she is a strong independent female boss, with a big heart and a really crappy ex. Calder as we saw in the first book is funny, I love the whole cat Daddy and the carrier he had going on, it was so cute. It just had some great emotional ups and downs, with hilarious moments and pretty spicy!
The club that they went to seemed out of place, with rustic small town, I still enjoyed the added dynamic but threw me off some. Also, I really wanted Dakota’s ex to have way more consequences than he got, he deserved way worse. I had a great time reading this book, I highly recommend it.
I received an advanced ebook, via Netgalley. This review is my own honest opinion.

I loved this book. The Fletcher boys are dreamy and they seem like a great family together. There is banter and love and all the feels. I would read the series in order as this takes place after the first book. This has a really great story line between Dakota and Calder.

This book had me dying laughing. This whole series was not what I was expecting and I’m so here for it. Cat Daddy Calder was such a fun character to get to know. And Dakota was no different. She was such a spunky, strong character and it was really interesting to get inside her head. But put these two together and you have some super fun, undeniable chemistry that has you giggling and kicking your feet. The banter was obviously so good as any enemies to lovers is to be. It is a favorite trope for a reason🤭🙂‍↕️. Overall really loved this one and super excited for the next book! Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read this arc.

Seven Year Itch was a fun enemies to lover rom com and I loved Dakota and Calder’s romance from start to finish. I absolutely loved the tension and verbal sparring between these two. I loved seeing Dakota find herself throughout the story after her divorce and I loved the way he built her up despite all of their verbal sparring. These two had me laughing out loud, swooning and fanning myself and I loved every minute.

Erin Mallon and Teddy Hamilton narrate this story in duet. I love this duo in Amy’s books. Erin brings to life Dakota’s fun personality but also does great at portraying her insecurities. Teddy does great at bringing out Calder’s grumpiness and swoon. Both of their performances were amazing and fun!

Thank you Amy & NetGalley for an early read and listen!

Seven Year Itch is the second in Daws’ Mountain Men Matchmaker series. I enjoyed the first, so I was excited to get a chance to read this one, too. In Seven Year Itch, Calder and Dakota end up as the only single attendees at his brother’s destination wedding. They don’t have the best relationship and (with a little help from his family’s meddling) end up having to share a room. Even though they claim to hate each other, sparks can’t help but fly and Calder may be the perfect guy to help Dakota get her groove back after her divorce.

This book was just a fun ride! I loved that we got both a vacation romance (only one bed!) AND small town romance in the same book. Calder was the perfect contradiction - gruff mountain man with a soft, cat loving side. And I loved how spunky Dakota was. Her journey to reclaim her confidence after her divorce was one of my favorite parts of this story. There was plenty of spice (verging on an overwhelming amount sometimes?), but I loved their chemistry.

Give Seven Year Itch a read if you enjoy :
▫️Enemies to Lovers
▫️Vacation romance
▫️Small town romance
▫️Enemies with benefits
▫️Mountain men
▫️Cute pet sidekicks (a cat in a baby carrier!!!)

Calder is a cat wearing fur-daddy, tattooed mountain man and he is against relationships. He had his heart broken and will not go down that path again.

Dakota is recently divorced and is on a mission to find herself again after 7 years of being married to the wrong man.

Dakota is also the best friend of Trista, who is getting married to Wyatt, Calder’s brother. I should also mention that Calder and Dakota are complete enemies and dislike each other, a lot. They have a history and it’s not a good one.

So, when the two of them are stuck sharing a room for the destination wedding, chaos ensues. I loved the back and forth banter and insults. You could feel the tension between them. It was definitely a thin line between love and hate with these two. It was funny and entertaining to read.

Calder was not my favorite MMC at the start. But he did grow on me and his growth through the book. Even though he disliked Dakota, he was still protective of her and even more so as his feelings began to change.

Overall this was a great read and I really enjoyed it. It is book 2 in the series but can be read as a standalone. But I do recommend reading them in order as the characters from the first appear in the second and there is a bit of a spoiler in book two.

Love the Fletcher men.
Calder and Dakota have been bickering for years. All the tension FINALLY boils over.
This installment of the mountain men could be my favorite.
So much love, family, hilarity, and powerful friendships.
I could not put this down. I’m now trying to wait patiently for the next.

Story Vibes:
Meddling families, sweet adorable cat, vacations and a heroine who despises the hero? Yep, this story has all those vibes and so much more!

Overall Vibes:
𝑺𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒏 𝒀𝒆𝒂𝒓 𝑰𝒕𝒄𝒉 is taking us back to the Fletcher brothers and all their fun & love. I'm so excited to say that Calder's (bless his ever loving quirky self) story is finally here and I couldn't have loved it more!

Dakota & Calder have had a....hateful acquaintanceship....for seven years. But, now, at Calder's brother's wedding they are back in each other's presence. The enemies vibe is still strong.....until it isn't. They are stuck with some force proximity action, hate to love banter, one night full of enemies with benefits fun, and some second chances.

Mix in some lovable animals(he's a cat daddy! Literal SWOON!), a meddling matchmaking niece & all the lovable Fletcher brothers and this one definitely scratches the surface"itch" for an unforgettable spice filled romcom!

𝙰𝚖𝚢 𝙳𝚊𝚠𝚜 has done it again & I can't wait for 𝑯𝒐𝒏𝒆𝒚𝒎𝒐𝒐𝒏 𝑷𝒉𝒂𝒔𝒆!

These Fletcher Brothers are something else. And I’m completely head over kettle for Calder. Not only cause he’s a hot tatted cat daddy 😏, but he gives as good as he gets. And holy cannoli can Calder & Dakota give it. These two are almost in a constant verbal sparring match, and it’s pretty epic! It’s fun & witty, and sometimes downright brutal. But when they become enemies with benefits, things get real. Love these two together!!! I can’t wait for Luke’s book, even though I’ll be sad for the end
