These Mountain Men have got me 🥵 Amy Daws sure know how to write a fun and steamy novel.

I love how the family interferes yet again to get thes two together.

We return to the family going on a destination wedding and Calder and Dakota get placed together. These two are next level. I love how they build each other up both in and out of the bedroom. This Cat daddy and successful but low self esteem lovey were made for each other. I loved going on their journey of love.

Can't wait for Book 3

I generally love Amy Daws' writing, and I did enjoy this book. However, it definitely has the miscommunication trope and if these two just talked to each other for 5 minutes about their feelings and misunderstandings, half the angst would have been eliminated. It put a damper on the last 50 or so pages of the books. I am looking forward to the next book in the series, and hope to go back and read the first book in the very near future.

Seven Year Itch was such a fun, heartfelt, and witty read. Amy Daws has a great way of mixing humor, romance, and real-life challenges into a story that feels both swoony and relatable. The banter kept me smiling, and the chemistry between the characters was undeniable—it pulled me in from the start.

What really stood out was how the book tackled relationship struggles in a very honest way. It wasn’t just fluff; there was depth and emotion behind the laughs and steam. That balance made the story feel fresh and engaging.

The only reason it’s not a full 5 stars for me is that a few parts felt a little predictable, but overall, it was still a thoroughly enjoyable read. If you like romance with humor, heart, and a touch of realness, this one is worth picking up.

Seven Year Itch is my first read by Amy Daws, but it definitely won't be my last. The Fletcher brothers are hilarious, and I need more of them. This story is a fun, spicy enemies-to-lovers romance that had me laughing, swooning, and grinning the whole way through. Calder Fletcher, the swooniest mountain man and cat dad, and the funny and fiery Dakota Schaefer, have been clashing for seven years. They cannot stand each other, and their bickering made for some hilarious moments. When they bumped into each other at a member's only club, their back and forth had me laughing so hard.

Dakota and Calder ended up being the only singles at Calder's brother's destination wedding, and their bickering did not stop. As fate would have it, there is a mix-up at the resort, and they end up sharing a room. The tension between them unexpectedly turns into something more, and I loved every second of their delicious journey. Dakota and Calder were so hot together. Their chemistry was sizzling, and I loved how they connected on a deeper emotional level. Witnessing them grow, face their insecurities, and discover what they truly wanted was super satisfying. I was completely invested in their relationship and couldn't help but root for Dakota and Calder's happiness.

Thanks to Amy Daws, Canary Street Press, Harlequin Trade Publishing, and NetGalley for the review opportunity. Opinions expressed are my own.

What a fun, emotional, lighthearted, bingeable read! It had me from the start, & I loved everything about this page!

Dakota is your take no crap kind of person & I loved her for it! She is driven, passionate, & she takes care of herself 👏🏻 throw in Calder & he keeps her on her toes. He is so much more than he appears, & watching him grow was perfect! The chemistry of the two of them was spot on, & they kept a smile on my face 🥰

I loved seeing the characters from book 1 again, & getting an update on their lives. And all the animals that appear are the best! I am looking forward to the next book, can’t wait to see what else happens on the mountain 🏔️

What to expect:
✨dual POV
✨enemies to lovers
✨interconnected series (book 2)
✨mountain town
✨forced proximity
✨only one bed
✨open door
✨so much banter!

I received an eARC of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This book was not great. I wasn't a big fan of the characters or the romance. I found the MMC a bit misogynistic and I personally would not have spent time with him if you paid me. I feel like his shitty personality was forgiven by the FMC and others because he was "hot". I also didn't really care much for our FMC. We kept being told that she was a control freak but I never got that impression from what we read about her in the book nor were we given any explanation for why she might feel the need to maintain control. What little explanation was made (if you can call it that, which I don't) blamed it on her insecurity with her ex. The only perspective of our FMC that we get is while she is in a relationship with a man; either her ex or our MMC. I just didn't really care much for either of them. The sex club thing was a flimsy plot device that felt a bit insulting to the kink community to be honest. They only used it to stir up drama between the main characters and I didn't see them as kinky in the first place; or at least not sex club kinky. Every time they went there something not great would happen which gave the impression that the author views sex clubs as unsafe spaces which is kind of exactly the opposite of what they are meant to be. There were a lot of sex scenes between these two characters that we are supposed to believe dislike each other and honestly I found the scenes to be super boring. I purchased book one of this series to read on the premise that I was going to enjoy this one but now I don't know if I'll be able to push through it.

I loved this book. A combination of humor and romantic tension that is brought to life by the author.

I enjoyed this book so much more than I thought I would. I loved the loud and opinionated FMC and how down bad the MMC was. There were moments that really made me gasp or laugh audibly.

I think my house has burnt down 😂🔥

Warning this has some sweet moments between Calder and Dakota this was primarily smut over plot and I was HERE FOR IT 😉 I'm talking 🔥♾️ times SPICY. I did not have a chance to read this in audiobook form but this novel is dual POV (& dual narration) so I am just dreaming of the day I get to hear Teddy Hamilton and Erin Mallon being these characters to life?

This book had me laughing out loud but also healed my soul as a recent divorcee ❤️ Calder was just an absolutely sweetheart & Dakota grew so much as a character in just a few hundred pages.

I was shocked by the balance of this novel and I'm already looking forward to my re-read via the audiobook in 17 weeks when I get it from the library 😂☠️ Add to your TBR the next time you need a feel good spicy romance 😘

This was such a cute fun read, I started Amy daws books a few months ago and they’re always a good between book for me. I read mainly dark romance so when I need a good romance I tru to go for a more light read and this was just what I needed.

3⭐️ I was so excited to read Seven Year Itch, a male love interest who adores his cat his my absolute weakness.

Seven Year Itch is a fun, spicy romance that takes place in a beautiful vacation setting, as well as a small town. Now that it’s Summer, I love reading romances that take place at the beach, and I’m also fond of the cozy small-town settings.

Dakota and Calder don’t like each other, but they have undeniable chemistry. If you enjoy forced proximity, this one’s for you. Their banter is pretty funny, and they do have a great connection despite not liking each other. They decide to form a mutually beneficial pact while on vacation that ends when they return home. I loved the humor in this book, and there were some very sweet moments between Dakota and Calder.

However, I rated this book 3 stars for a few reasons. I found the characters (especially Calder) to be immature and sometimes annoying. I found myself rolling my eyes at his internal monologue pretty frequently. I also feel that this book is about 70 pages longer than it needs to be. It kind of drags a bit in the middle, but it does pick up the pace later on.

Overall, Seven Year Itch is an easy, lighthearted read with some great banter, funny moments, and fun vacation vibes!

Amy Daws delivers another wildly entertaining rom-com in Seven Year Itch, the second book in her “destination wedding meets small-town chaos” series. While it’s connected to Nine Month Contract (which I also enjoyed), you can easily read this one as a standalone—though familiar characters pop in for added fun.

The Setup
This story pairs a grumpy, tattooed mountain man with a sharp-tongued woman who’s loathed him for years. Calder just wanted a casual fling for his brother’s tropical wedding, but thanks to some meddling family, he ends up rooming with Dakota—his sister-in-law’s best friend and his long-time nemesis. Their enemies-to-lovers tension starts sizzling in paradise and follows them back to Calder’s small town when Dakota recruits him as her post-divorce wingman.

What Worked for Me

The Banter – I’m picky about enemies-to-lovers romances, but here, the sparring felt authentic, witty, and genuinely fun. Calder and Dakota’s verbal jabs had me smiling more often than not.

Quirky Side Characters – Just like in the first book, the supporting cast (and yes, the animals) are scene-stealing delights. The meddling family antics add charm without overwhelming the romance.

The Spice Factor – Amy Daws proves once again she’s got serious talent for writing chemistry that’s as playful as it is steamy.

What Didn’t Quite Land
The one sticking point for me was the sex club subplot. Dakota’s over-the-top reactions felt a little unrealistic, especially since no one seemed to think they were unusual. Her role in Calder getting kicked out didn’t sit right with me—it pulled me out of the otherwise believable emotional arc.

Final Thoughts
With humor, heart, and heat, Seven Year Itch delivers exactly what I expect from Amy Daws: a rom-com that doesn’t take itself too seriously but still keeps me hooked. If you like banter-heavy enemies-to-lovers stories, meddling families, and a dose of outrageous situations, this one’s worth packing in your beach bag.

This series is definitely to read when you’re in the mood for stuff like this. I read the first one but I’m just not digging this. It’s another brothers story with a girl and I love me listening to teddy hamilton but I’m just not in it. I tried my best.

.5 Stars
Mood confession: I’m deep in the Mountain Men Matchmaker woods, and I can’t resist the rugged heroes and the magic brewing in every trope.

What Lit My Mood
The fresh setup: Calder and Dakota already know each other, and Dakota’s been holding a grudge for seven years, making him her sworn enemy.

Tropes I Devoured:
Enemies to lovers
Forced proximity: Calder’s just looking for a no-strings date for his brother Wyatt’s wedding… and ends up sharing a room with Dakota.
Grumpy/Sunshine: Broody mountain man hero who makes his love interest feel beautiful
Second chances
Curvy FMC
Animal lovers

Depth That Gave It Heart: Past abuse, courage to rebuild, personal growth, and body insecurities.

Dialogue Magic: I liked Calder’s awkward charm. Their banter had bite, just nasty enough to feel real between people who don’t get along but was sprinkled with sweetness that made the enemies-to-lovers vibe feel fresh and entertaining.

Where My Mood Flickered
Instant lust: Yep, that’s the hook here, but not for me.
Calder is every inch the alpha, loud-mouthed mountain man with a possessive streak. I think it was meant to read as endearing and protective, but at times it veered into demanding territory.

Witchy Heat Scale
Steam Rising from the Cauldron: The kind of heat that fogs your crystal ball and makes your tarot cards blush.

Witchy Mood Reader Rating
Moody Mismatch: The magic was there, but the energy was off with too much heated territory that dulled the spell

Verdict: Read it for the spicy enemies-to-lovers tension, stay for the banter that bites, and summon it after Nine Month Contract when you’re ready for enough heat to leave your crystal ball in a full-on steam bath.

Even though the heat in this one had this witch fanning her spellbook, I’m all in for the next installment. Honeymoon Phase. I am in for the tropes.
