A Delightful and Emotional Rom-Com That Hits All the Right Notes!
Amy Daws once again delivers a heartfelt and hilarious romance in Seven Year Itch. This book is a perfect blend of witty banter, sizzling chemistry, and genuine emotion, making it impossible to put down.

Whether you're laughing out loud at the sharp dialogue or feeling the tug of a tender moment, you’re fully immersed from start to finish.

Expect laugh-out-loud moments, off-the-charts chemistry, and just enough emotional whiplash to keep your heart doing cartwheels. Second chances have never looked (or read) this good. Amy Daws, you saucy genius, you’ve done it again!

This book was 75% spice and 25% Fletcher family chaos. If you read Nine Month Contract, you’ll enjoy this fiery follow-up. The banter between Dakota and our cat loving mountain man Calder had me laughing out loud. Their enemies-to-lovers tension sizzled. Add in a meddling family, some quirky pets, and a tropical setting, and it’s the perfect vacation-in-a-book. AND if you’re an audiobook girlie - you will NOT be disappointed with the duet narration done SO flawlessly. Spicy, funny, and surprisingly sweet underneath all the steam.

Perfect for fans of:
💕 Enemies to Lovers
🛏️ One bed/forced proximity
🏡 Small Town Romance
🌴Vacation Romances
🤭 Meddling family
🐈‍⬛ Cat daddy

Thank you NetGalley, Harlequin and Amy Daws for the opportunity to be an ARC/ALC reader in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you Canary Street Press for providing this book for review consideration via NetGalley. All opinions are my own
Seven Year Itch is everything I didn’t know I needed—a laugh-out-loud, enemies-to-lovers romp with the perfect blend of banter, spice, and emotional payoff. From the very first swipe-right-worthy line, I was hooked.

Calder is a gruff, bearded mountain man who’s all grumble and growl on the outside but soft, swoony cat dad on the inside. I dare you not to fall HARD. Dakota is absolutely the firecracker you root for from page one—sharp-tongued, fiercely independent, and ready to rediscover herself after a painful divorce.
Their chemistry is electric. The insults fly fast, the tension simmers, and when it finally boils over—HOT DAMN. Let’s just say the shared-room trope has never been this spicy. But what really sets this story apart is the heart beneath it all. There’s vulnerability, healing, and a love story that sneaks up on you.
If you're a fan of
*Grumpy/sunshine with a twist
*Forced proximity on a tropical island
*Hilarious meddling families
*Big, bearded softies with emotional depth
Then Seven Year Itch is the book for you.

I laughed, I blushed, I most definitely highlighted way too many lines. I can not wait for the next adventure at Fletcher Mountain.

This was a perfect follow up to Nine Month Contract! I love these characters and these Mountain men! They are smart, sweet and downright sexy!!! This town and these characters feel real to me! I seriously want to drive there and ask one to pick me!!! Humor, spice and everything nice!!!

I went into this book with really high hopes! I’m always up for a rom com and this one seemed right up my alley. Unfortunately, it just wasn’t something that I ended up enjoying and I had to put it down after about 7 chapters.
The male main character to me was very unlikable and I didn’t see a redemption arc for him in my mind and I’m not sure it would be believable.
I ended up putting it down at about 30% in and have no desire to pick it up later.
I do believe this could be a great book for others and the writing was well done! But it just wasn’t for me.

Thanks so much to Harlequien Publishing and the author for the eARC through a NetGalley! All opinions are my own.

Another great Fletcher Mountain book. Mountain man. Cat Daddy. Feisty heroine. This book has shenanigans. Laugh out loud moments. Banter. Angst. The enemies to lovers is strong in this one. There are also some emotional moments. Enjoyed how Calder and Dakota slowly worked through each other’s layers. How they didn’t give up. I really enjoyed the time the family was at the tropical resort. I laughed the most during that time of the book. I enjoyed how everyone secretly knew what was going on. Loved Momma Fletcher.

This book was an absolute sizzler! Amy excels at weaving humor into romance, transforming it into a spicy romantic masterpiece.

Calder is THAT GUY, you know, the tattooed, bearded, muscle-bound lumberjack of a heartthrob. He’s perfected the art of love and is determined to help Dakota escape her post-divorce slump and regain her confidence, all while playing the role of her arch-nemesis. When they both attend Calder's brother's wedding in Mexico and end up in the same villa, they decide to put their past behind them for one unforgettable night, igniting a steamy evening of passion and the start of an enemies-with-benefits adventure.

Together, Calder and Dakota create an undeniable spark. They embody the enemies-to-lovers trope flawlessly. Their playful banter and conflicts are intense, yet they remain each other's support system, encouraging one another to step outside their comfort zones. And I can't forget my favorite part: the PowerPoints!

In summary, it's the perfect escape read.

The seven year itch is the perfect romance for Amy daws fans! following the series from nine month contract. This story has enemies to lovers, friends with benefits, lots of fun and spice and it was a great time. This book is super fun, full of wit, hilarious moments and delicious tension. I thought this book was so binge-able. It has small town romance, a mountain man and cat daddy so naturally I fell in love. It's so charming, with a big meddling family and Calder and Dakota had explosive chemistry that kept you reading page after page. This is a must read!

Amy Daws proves once again why she's a must-read author! I was beyond excited for Seven Year Itch, especially after Nine Month Contract became a surprise favorite earlier this year. I couldn’t wait to experience more mountain man goodness with the Fletcher brothers, and Calder Fletcher did not disappoint! Both Calder and Dakota were incredibly relatable, and their chemistry as a couple was electric!

Seven Year Itch is a spicy enemies-to-lovers romance brimming with humor, angst, and heartfelt emotional depth. The heated exchanges and witty banter of these two characters was nothing short of captivating. Despite their animosity (which only lead to explosive sexual chemistry!), I loved how they pushed each other beyond their comfort zones. The glow-up and character development between these two as individuals was extraordinary. They truly brought out the best in each other in the end, which is everything I could hope for and more from one of my fave tropes!

Book: Seven Year Itch
Author: Amy Daws
Rating: 4 Out of 5 Stars

I would like to thank the publisher, Canary Street Press, for sending me an ARC. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this one. Don’t let the cute cover fool you, though. This is a spicy read, and it has a lot of spice. However, I do feel like the spice was well written. I don’t know…I feel like I picked this up at the right time. I needed something to take me away for a little bit.

In this one, we follow Dakota and Calder. Calder might look like a tall, tattooed, bearded Neanderthal, but under the gruff exterior lies a soft heart—and a proud cat dad. All he wanted was a no-strings-attached plus-one to his brother’s tropical destination wedding. But thanks to a little sabotage from his meddling family, his carefully crafted dating profile gets a chaotic makeover. Now Calder’s stuck in paradise with no date, no fling, and only his hand (and his cat memes) for company. Enter Dakota—his sister-in-law’s best friend and the woman who’s hated him for seven years. She’s newly divorced, fierce as ever, and now his unexpected roommate. Forced proximity and tropical heat prove to be a combustible mix, and soon Dakota’s screaming at Calder for entirely different reasons. When she later shows up on his mountain asking for help to get her groove back, Calder agrees to play wingman. But the more time he spends with the woman who used to drive him crazy, the more he realises: he doesn’t just want to fight with her anymore. He wants forever.

This is your typical enemies-to-lovers book. We have Calder and Dakota, who cannot stand each other. Both of them have reasons for hating each other. However, when both find themselves at the same destination wedding and in the same room for that, thanks to Calder’s niece, things change. They decide to embark on this friends with benefits journey. Yet, the deeper they get into their relationship, the more they find that maybe it's time to end this fire squad vibe that they have going on and become something more. However, it is easier said than done, because both have skeletons in their closets and are trying to heal. They are afraid to let their grades down because of their pasts.

It does make sense that they have to keep their guard up. Both of them had been kind of forced into this role, and they don’t know how to get out. Calder is trying to hold onto things on the mountain and keep things the way they are. He is the grunt of the family business. However, things are quickly changing. As his brothers start to branch out, he struggles to adapt to the change and find his way. Dakota is a business owner who is trying to move on from a divorce and find her way. She has lost all of her self-esteem and doesn’t know where to go. They come into each other’s lives when they need each other and find a way to get out of the situation they are in.

The writing is well done. As I have said, there is a lot of spice in this book. However, I didn’t find it to be tacky. It was done in a way that felt right and natural. Like the characters, you could tell as the book went on, the spice became almost more intense. It became one of passion and not convenience. The story is just one of those that pulls you in rather quickly and just allows you to escape. Sometimes you need one of those books in your life. You need one that just takes you away from the real world.

Now, I didn’t know until after I agreed to write a review for this book that this is the second book in a series. However, I read this just fine without having read the first book.

If you are looking for a summer escape, then I highly encourage you to give this one a go.

This book comes out on June 17, 2025.

This could very well be the best Enemies-To-Lovers I’ve ever read.

Calder and Dakota hate each other. There’s bad blood from a home renovation years ago, and even more bad blood from the years after. However, his brother is married to her best friend, so obviously they keep running into one another. The hate banter in this book is beyond top-tier! At one point he literally calls her Satan and I down right LOL’ed. It is perfect. There’s all this tension and underlying attraction and pent up frustration *swoon 😮‍💨

By far my fave bits were the anger fueled, explosive confessions that were made. I loved how, with a little prying, they blurred out their feelings for the other, no matter what they were. There was an honest sense of openness that was a nice counter to the enemies bits.

Can we talk about the one-bed, forced proximity of the book! They are forced to share a room on the Mexico trip and that is what starts this whole “enemies-with-benefits” situation. It also starts the beginning of their friendship.

Ohhhh the friendship that blossomed! It was utterly adorable to see the tender moments between them, and how their trust built. I loved seeing their playful sides with one another. And the way he helped her rebuild her confidence, and my heart literally exploded when she stood up for him like that 🥰🥰🥰

I have to show love for the family dynamics here. It was written so honestly! They had fifths, they had struggles, they worked through things! And the bickering between the brothers …loved! And how the mom could silence these 6foot something mountain men with like 1 word lol!

Fave parts with literally no context:
“I was thinking about you!”
Calders truck
The birds in Mexico
Invitations to the Gala 😭😭
Surprise Poker Night
The Tattoo 🥰🥰🥰🥰

I could keep going!!! I was crying at the end …crying! Huge case of the feels! Next book please!! I can’t wait!

Calder and Dakota have struck sparks of one kind of another off each other for years. They manage to avoid each other for the most part, but Wyatt and Trista's destination wedding is coming up. Not surprising to the readers, Calder's niece -- Everly, who is back from college for the summer -- has a plan up her sleeve to get these two seeing each other in a new light. It works, but it might kill them first. The banter is top notch, and the chemistry is thick. The audiobook is even better because we get two great narrators in duet. They get every bit of humor and emotion out of the text. It is really hard to stop listening.

Seven Year Itch by Amy Daws
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Calder and Dakota were such fun, dynamic main characters, and I really enjoyed watching each of them grow personally on the way to their happily ever after. Their journeys took some unexpected turns, which was refreshing and kept the story engaging. Even as they shifted from enemies to lovers, the spark and fire between them never dimmed—something I really appreciated.

It was also a treat to catch up with the entire Fletcher family. Their ongoing stories and the strong family dynamics continue to be a highlight of the series. And of course, Everly delighted as always!

A fantastic continuation of the Fletcher men’s saga—full of charm, heart, and heat. Highly recommend!
Thanks to Harlequin Trade Publishing for the ARC!

Did not expect this to be so spicy since I started reading with no expectations. What kept me going was the close family and the setting in which the brothers had created three homes in the mountains and all worked together. Our main character, Calder was interesting because he was so much deeper than his urges and I was able to see him realize what he wanted in life and who he saw as being with him for the journey. Each member of the family just added more richness and warmth to the story.

Loved the story… I’m really enjoying getting to know the Fletcher brothers. I love how the MMC was so intune with the FMC & her needs.

The title for this story seems appropriate. I like how the text goes back and forth explaining events that occurred 7 years ago that developed the Fletcher boys, especially Calder, into who they are today. The title is perfect

Laugh out loud funny. Calder and Dakota had amazing banter and chemistry. Loved Calder and how much his family loved and supported him and his situationship with Dakota. Dakota was fun and wanting to try new things. With the help of Calder they discover they’re better together than single.

I was a huge fan of the first book in this series and I was hoping this was would live up to the hype of the nine month contract and it totally did!! Calder and Dakota have deep lore and they truly can’t stand each other. So when they hook up in Mexico and they come home and continue their arrangement I knew it was going to get hot and heavy! The spice was great! Amy Daws always delivers with her spicy scenes but I also loved the vulnerability of both characters. They were both going through it! Calder stepping away from his playboy ways and Dakota truly not trusting men after divorcing her shitty ex husband. They both had to learn how to open up and rise to the equation to be with each other! The family unit is truly so fun to keep going back to and Milkshake was such a scene stealer!

This was a fun read. Two acquaintances with an explosive past are forced together at a destination wedding leading to a cute enemies to lovers storyline.

Initially, I struggled a bit with characters, but as I got to know them and watched them grow throughout the book, I began rooting for them and their relationship. I appreciated the dual narration, depth of character development and the vulnerability that they both brought out of each other. I also enjoyed the family dynamic and the roles the other characters played and look forward to checking out their full storylines in the author’s other books!

Thank you to NetGalley, Harlequin Trade Publishing and Amy Daws for the advance reader copy.
