(4.5) Brilliant 7-year enemies to lovers with a tropical twist!

I am locked in with the Fletcher family. The first book was admittedly goofy, but Amy Daws flexes her romance prowess as she brings Calder and Dakota together. They are the only ones who didn't bring a plus-one to his brother's intimate destination wedding. And his meddlesome niece (read: matchmaker extraordinaire) ensures that "Killer Calder" and "Dakota The Devil" have to share a romantic villa with *drum roll please* ONE BED!!!

But this is no easy, insta-love plot. The two hate each other and have for seven years. So they don't fall but they are tempted. She's just left an emotional abusive marriage. And he can't get the sexy visions he's had of her out of his head. They decide to be enemies with benefits, with a timeline. The creative story behind it is so unique, I don't want to spoil it. But trust in me! And trust in Amy Daws. If you adore subtle foreshadowing and big reveals, you are going to be screaming by the end.

I am dying to read the next book. The series is just getting better and better.

I enjoyed Dakota and Calder’s story so much. Truly couldn’t put it down. It was a spicy enemies to lovers/friends with benefits but hilarious and actually kind of sweet. I finished it in a day and a half. If you love romcoms this one will hit the spot!

Seven Year Itch
Mountain Men Matchmaker series
by Amy Daws

***ALL THE FREAKING STARS***

I was SO FREAKING PUMPED to read this next installment in the Mountain Men Matchmaker series and I was NOT disappointed. OMG I loved Calder and Dakota so much.

Calder and Dakota met 7 years ago when Dakota's best friend started to nanny for Calder's brother (Last on the List) and they flirted. Then Dakota hired Calder to remodel her home and they learned to hate each other. Dakota went on to marry and divorce an absolute POS and Calder continued to live his single life. Now, Everly is back at it with her match making shenanigans! She's decided that Dakota and Calder need a little shove in the right direction and that direction is TOGETHER. A little tinder app update and an 'under construction' room and Everly's new plan is underway.

This one has it all. One bed, forced proximity, a meddling niece, a sex club, a cat carrier, the list goes on!

Thank you to NetGalley, Amy Daws, and Harlequin Trade Publishing for the opportunity to read and review this book.

It was a bit spicier than I thought it would be. But it was a good cozy spicy book, I can't wait to continue this series. The 2 characters are cute together. I'm going to reread and annotate. Finished it in one sitting.

This is the next book in Amy Daws' Mountain Men Matchmaker series. I was so excited for Calder's book when I met him in book 1 and I was not disappointed!

In this book, we get Dakota and Calder, enemies who are "forced" to spend a week in the same room at a family event in Mexico. Their hate for each other started 7 years earlier and has not cooled since. Honestly, I did not really enjoy how long Daws drew out the suspense of the story before we finally get the true story of what caused the fight between them. And once I read it, I was just kind of like "that's it?" I didn't think what had happened warranted all of the nastiness that they spewed at each other for the first few chapters of the book.

However, as a huge sucker for the enemies to lovers and "teach me" tropes, this book had me hooked from the beginning. Overall, this book was sweet, spicy, and heartfelt. I especially enjoyed Calder and his "middle child syndrome" and his finally realizing his specialness.

I am already invested in Luke and Addison's story, so book 3 needs to hurry along!

Thank you so much to NetGalley and the publisher for the eARC.

Amy Daws has done it again! The second installment of her Mountain Men story did not disappoint! Calder and Dakota’s enemies-to-lovers/enemies with benefits story is so electric. Having the dual POV and being able to see both of their sides was so entertaining. And wowza…Amy…girlfriend…the spice I was prepared but I wasn’t at the same time! Hello!! I devoured this book! It can be read as a stand-alone but I do highly suggest reading Max and Wyatt’s book to fully appreciate the story!

I can’t wait for the next one!

Loved this book! This author’s main male characters give me butterflies and the female main characters are someone I want to be friends with. The perfect rom-com!

Ever since “Nine Month Contract”, I have been anxiously waiting for the next Fletcher brothers book and it did not disappoint. “Seven Year Itch” is a steamy, heartfelt and laugh out loud enemies to lovers rom-com that I devoured in one day.

Calder Fletcher is happily single and living on the mountain with his beloved cat, Milkshake. So the day he finds out his dating profile has been changed without him knowing it, he’s less than pleased. And he’s in need of a casual plus one for his brother’s wedding in Mexico and when he goes to his usual club to find someone, he’s shocked to see the woman he can’t stand there. Dakota is his sister in law’s best friend and the two have butted heads for the last seven years. And now due to a mixup at the hotel, they are forced to share a room at the resort for the wedding. But they start to look at each other in a different way and agree to keep what happens in Mexico, stays in Mexico. But then Dakota shows up at his house in the mountain and asks him to help find her confidence again after her divorce. Things start out temporary but Calder slowly realizes that she has everything he never knew he wanted.

Oh how I love this grumpy mountain man who’s obsessed with his cat and takes him out for walks in a cat sling carrier. Calder is genuine, caring and grumpy perfection. He’s close with his brothers and their significant other and despite what he says, he wanted the happiness that they had. Dakota was someone I loved from the beginning and how much of a spitfire she was. She didn’t put up with anything and kept Calder on his toes. She really started finding herself again after divorce and her confidence grew as she spent time with Calder and their lessons. Calder is what she needed to find her groove back after having such a terrible husband before. The banter in this story was top tier Amy Daws hilarious and I laughed out loud so many times while reading. Even when they were more than just enemies, they kept each other on their toes with their banter. The chemistry was sizzling hot and oh so delicious, that man knows how to treat a woman. But they also connected on a deeper emotional level neither were expecting and I loved that. They truly worked on themselves separately and together. Calder and Dakota grew so much in this story and the ending for them was perfect.

Another Fletcher brother bites the dust. This time with an enemies to enemies with benefits to lovers trope! I loved Dakota and Caulder’s story. And the whole Fletcher is there too! The banter, the growth, the love so good!

to literally no ones surprise i DEVOURED this book in one sitting yesterday 😂

calder & dakota were so much fun and their banter was top tier like i loveeee when a book will still give me witty banter and barbs even after the enemies become lovers 🤭

the ONLY thing that i didnt love, which is a personal thing is the spice got to be a little too much at times, i found myself starting to skim them because i just would have rather been reading about something else happening in the moment.

other than that this was another perfect romcom from amy, i cant wait to see whats next 🤭

This was a fun read, I didn't laugh like I did in the first book, but it was a good time. This book follows the fmc, who is newly divorced, and the MMC, who is a cat dad. The mmc is Wyatt's brother from the first book, and I loved the found family aspect that was still in this book. The two MCs are enemies because of a job they did wrong when they were younger. They are stuck together after his niece decides to play matchmaker again, and they have to share a room for the destination wedding. I loved the quirkiness and the meet-cute at the sex club and all the spiciness in the book. I also like the personal journey that the main characters went through in regards to the fmcs divorce and the MMCS's path in life. Overall, a fun, steamy read. Thanks to HTP for this arc!

Read for:
- Small town romance
- Interconnected standalone
- Matchmaking and meddling family
- Enemies to lovers
- Kink club
- Romcom

Absolute perfection!

I have loved the Fletcher family for what feels like forever and Calders story was full of so many laughs and heartwarming emotion I couldn’t put the book down!

Things are rough when it comes to Calder and Dakota. A Rocky mishap years ago and they hold nothing but hate for the other, but also some curiosity that keeps things angsty. When the feelings get to be too much things boil over and that’s when it gets GOOD!

I loved the way things built between them and omg I wanted to reach in and hug Calder so many time. His character is so relatable and lovable I couldn’t help but feel for him as he tried to show everyone he’s more than they label him.

I HIGHLY recommend this story to any one who loves enemies to lovers, angsty, wedding shenanigans and a cat dad who loves deeply!

A pretty heavily spiced book but a good read nonetheless. Calder and Dakota truly despised each other but it because clear neither of them really understood why. Miscommunication isn’t my favorite thing to read about, and they definitely miscommunicated with each other a lot. Definitely not hard to read, no big plot revelations that shock you to your core, just simple spicy fun getting to know the person you thought you hated. A lot of spicy bingos were had between their bingo cards!

I’m gonna give this one 3 1/2 stars and rounded up to four. I had a harder time with this one. And this, our FMC, Dakota is coming off a marriage. And let me tell you I am not too fond of her ex. The things that I heard in the way that he made her think of herself not a fan. I do wish this book came with warnings in the beginning about how she viewed herself. I recently lost a lot of weight in the past year and have had a hard time with my body image I found sometimes the way she spoke about herself internally or even externally, was hard for me to read.
I like Calder spone to her and how she looked. The spice was good and well written. I’m still very interested to see what the rest of the books bring.

What to expect in this
* Small Town
* Vacation romance
* Forced Proximity
* Cat dad
* Meddling family
* Enemies to lovers

Get ready for a fun and spicy read set in a small town, featuring two people thrown together, a cat-loving guy, a family that can't help but interfere, and my favorite, the classic enemies-to-lovers trope. I enjoyed it because it was funny, had clever dialogue, and had that feel-good vibe. Plus, I can't resist those rugged mountain men who are totally into their women.

Thank you to NetGalley and Harlequin Trade Publishing for the opportunity to read and review this book.

I loved this enemies to lovers, mountain man, lessons, one bed book! So many wonderful tropes! I feel like I haven’t read a good enemies to lovers in a while and this felt like a truly focused enemies to lovers. This is the second book of the series but we get to see a lot of the couple from the last book in the Wait with Me series! I loved the cameo (not spoiling who)!! Overall a really enjoyable book! Can’t wait for the next in the series!
