AMY DAWS YOU WILL ALWAYS BE FAMOUS TO ME.
includes:
- small town
- enemies with benefits
= forced proximity
- mountain dad who's cat is their entire life
I truly feel that amy is such an underrated author that I know whenever I am picking up their book, I am going to be smiling. the opening chapter to this book made me laugh because this man is quite literally so obsessed with his cat. dakota and calder end up being at each other's throats after he's at fault for dakota's house renovation going wrong. they're already not liking each other and then guess what happens?
he's not able to escape her. as dakota is super close to the women in his life, she ends up at his brother's wedding in mexico. QUE IN THE FORCED PROXIMITY. I really enjoyed the development in their relationship. I did find myself taking more time to like dakota as a character but the end everything worked out.

Huge gratitude to NetGalley and Canary Street Press for the eARC!
I'm already a big fan of Amy Daws to the point that I without question will buy her books. Seven Year Itch is no exception!
I LOVEDDDDD the tension and bickering between the main characters and how their romance developed. The fact that self-worth and self-talk practice was tied into smut was *chef's kiss*. Dual perspectives are always a favorite of mine too. It is such a great read, touching on deep topics while maintaining a great balance with the lighthearted and of course that real spicy spiciness.
It was such a fun read and I cannot wait to get my hands on Amy's next books!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Seven Year Itch by Amy Daws
Theme: Confidence
Plot: Confidence
Story: Confidence
Calder and Dakota have been sworn enemies for the last 7 years. Now, recently divorced, Dakota is invited to a getaway wedding with her best friend Cozy, who also happens to be Calder’s SIL. If you’ve read the first book, Nine Month Contract, you know Everly, Calder’s niece, is determined to find her uncles their HEA, thus creating a situation forcing Calder and Dakota to have to share a room at a destination wedding. And since I’ve mentioned the first book, in comparison, I feel like this book is a lot spicier (but could be my memory.) You can guess the result of the shared room. But what comes out of that experience and the experiences afterward is summarized in one word: confidence. This book is about opening up to yourself, learning about yourself, and accepting yourself for who you are. Both characters end up helping each other find their confidence through sharing with each other in a safe and truthful relationship. And…the cat daddy…no other words needed.
Now…the reason this is missing a star - for me - was the shock of the sex club. It happened so early in the book and just kept coming up. I’ve read books with that as a focal point but felt like the description in this book was a little out of place.
Thank you to NetGalley, the author, and the publisher for providing me with an ARC of this title for review.

E-ARC Book Review—Seven Year Itch by Amy Daws—Spoiler Free
Calder and Dakota have been enemies for the past seven years since Calder did a remodel job for Dakota. Dakota is recently divorced and ends up going on a trip with Calder’s whole family for a wedding since Dakota’s best friend is his sister in law. His medaling niece pays off the hotel so that Calder and Dakota are forced to share a room because even though they hate each other, she thinks they would be great together. After some confessions about her insecurities, Dakota and Calder come up with an “enemies with benefits” plan where they are just there to scratch an itch for each other. Of course, they both realize that it might just be more than they bargained for.
This story was cute and spicy. It took me a little bit to get into this story, but the last 40% was a lot easier going to read and kept me entertained. I liked how the MCs challenged each other to be better. I think the set up of this series is sweet (A niece helping her uncles find love). I look forward to reading the next book about the last single brother.

First off I’d like to thank Harlequin Trade Publishing for sending me this ARC through Net Galley in exchange for an honest review. Secondly I’d like to thank Amy Daws for writing another INCREDIBLE romance.
ARC Review:
I absolutely adored this book. There were so many new kinks, jokes, and characters. I got to know Calder even more, which I was very happy about, and dig deeper into why he is the way he is. Calder is the perfect cat daddy and I loved to read about him and milkshake. His past definitely affects how he is in the “present” of this book and seeing him overcome all that he has been through was amazing!
Dakota was put through the Wringer in her marriage. Getting over him and becoming her bad b**** self again made me love her more. Watching her develop feelings for Calder and seeing the way they interacted was beautiful. Also seeing her take down her walls and opening herself up for love again made this book that much better!!
For someone who thrived on never opening himself for love to then find someone who he wanted more than anything was just chefs kiss!!!

I want to live on Fletcher Mountain. Amy Daws has done it again with a funny charming spicy romance!
There is nothing cuter than a devoted “Cat Dad” and Caulder fits the bill! My only gripe is that the main characters were sooooo excessively mean to each other at the beginning. I know we needed to build tensions for the enemies to lovers (or in this case enemies and lovers) trope, but as they say “kindness costs nothing,” however these two did not get the memo. They were nasty to each other. It took forever to finally get to the resolution of why they actually dislike each other and why it was not entirely how it seemed. Caulder and Dakota met years ago and they have a complicated past. They are thrown together for a wedding and a chance meeting at a sex club(!) and shenanigans ensue. Everyone is a bit flawed but ultimately loveable and I will continue to read anything Amy Daws puts out!
Read this if you like-
tattooed, woodworking, mountain man, cat daddies
recently divorced boss babes getting their groove back
scheming family members- even from overseas ( I love Everly!)
Forced proximity, friends or enemies with benefits
“The Nine Month Contract”- Yay for revisiting that found family!

I have been an Amy Daws fan for years! I am so excited for her first traditional publishing release.
I loved this book! Calder and Dakota's enemies-to-lovers relationship was so fun to read. There were moments of classic Amy Daws humor that made me fully laugh out loud. The spice was definitely spicing, but it wasn't just spice. The emotional connection that grows between these two characters is beautiful. It is the perfect mix of heat, humor, and heart!
I truly felt Dakota's story! I have never been married, but I was still able to relate so strongly to her character and her emotions. As a plus-sized girl who has struggled to love my body my whole life, I loved reading her journey!
I truly loved this book and highly recommend it!

This book was so cute & so much fun! I loved the story and the premise, ate it up in one sitting & had a blast doing so! This is one of those turn your brain off books and just enjoy it - and that's exactly what I did sitting by the pool and reading this book!
Every book Amy writes is a lot of fun and I always have a fantastic time reading her work!
Thank you NetGalley for an eARC!

The mountain men continue with the niece causing havoc with her uncle Calder’s dating apps and forcing Calder and Dakota to share a room during the wedding. Hate banter at its finest, the insults thrown at each other were hilarious. Dakota post divorce is in a vulnerable place, her ex left her with little confidence and she wants to get back to pre-married Dakota. Insert Calder who helps her check off items on her list. A fun read, very entertaining with heartfelt emotions.

Thank you to Harlequin Trade Publishing , Canary Street Press and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to review Seven Year Itch by providing me with an ARC copy!
This is Book 2 in the Mountain Men Matchmakers Series! I flew through the First book! This one was even better!! The banter between the MFC & the MMC was entertaining and funny! The way I felt like I was part of the book myself! I felt like Amy gave us great strong character development & chemistry in the characters! This book takes you on a fun adventure!

Seven Year Itch by Amy Daws was just what I needed!
I absolutely loved this book. It had a good pacing, it was really cute, and the chemistry and sweet romance parts were truly beautiful.
I thought the story was so fun and sweet.

Amy Daws writes the kind of books that have me laughing not only when I'm reading, but for weeks on end afterwards. Cat Daddy Calder had me feeling so many emotions as his story with Dakota progressed, and as unhinged as the story got at times I was in love. It was an instant preorder for me that I felt SO strongly about that I accidentally did it twice!
Daws delivered an on-brand book, filled with heart, spice and a lot of laughter! I love the Fletcher family so much already, and Seven Year Itch did not disappoint! I love how this family can't stay out of each other's business and their inventive ways of going about that. The meddling is top notch, and throw in the destination wedding and I was cackling constantly! I love how Daws balances the excitement of what will come next, with the smidge of predictability that romance novels bring. They just feel like home.
I am also a sucker for a strong female character who knows what she wants. Dakota's post divorce journey had me whooping it up and cheering for her from page 1. I loved how she found herself and her voice, even though there were eye rolling moments because- you're adults. Grow up. But it didn't overshadow the book as a whole and didn't take away from the moments I loved SO much. And I LOVEDDDD Dakota so much.
Overall, yes. I bought two copies. I'm not even sad.

This was such a great story! I was hooked right off bat when I almost died laughing! Teddy and Erin are two of my favorite narrators. They both do such a great job expressing the characters emotions. I wish I could give this story more stars because not only was it hilariously funny, the sex was off the charts hot.

Book 2 of the series and can be read as a standalone but I do recommend reading the first book as it is the same characters and some spoiler in this book.
This book focuses on Calder who is looking for a date to his brother's wedding. He ends up with his nemesis Dakota. This is an enemies to lovers, small town romance.
Calder is aloof and is happy to be alone in the mountains with his brothers and his cat. The mix of Dakota created great tension and banter. Dakota is recently divorced and looking to find herself. They helped each other grow while making this spicy.
There's humor and also depth to the story. Teddy Hamilton and Erin Mallon were perfect as these characters.
look forward to reading more from this series.
Thank you @htp_hive @htpbooks @htpbooks_audio for a copy of this.

Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC!
*No spoilers*
I love these mountain men SO MUCH! I was so excited to read this story after absolutely DEVOURING the first book in the series. As a Colorado girl, I am always excited to read any series that takes place in my home state.
The story was really cute and SPICY (which I didn’t mind at all). The banter is what got me, and I found myself chuckling multiple times each chapter. The story had good pacing and it kept my attention to the point I didn’t want to put it down. Amy has built such a cozy, funny and ROMANTIC little community in the mountains and I can’t wait for the next book! Bonus points for all the cute animals :-)

'Seven Year Itch' by Amy Daws is a fun, enemies to lovers story following Dakota, a recent divorcee trying to get her grove back, and Calder, a confirmed bachelor living on a mountain with his brothers and his cat. This hilarious story includes big "cat daddy" energy, the one bed trope, and a chance meeting in a sex club.
Overall, I found this to be a fun, funny read. It's a follow up to Daws' 'Nine Month Contract' and I will for sure be picking up any forthcoming installments in this series.
Thank you to Amy Daws and Harlequin Trade Publishing for the ARC of 'Seven Year Itch' in exchange for an honest review.

Spice: 4 🌶️
Tropes:
- Small Town Romance
- Vacation Fling
- Forced Proximity
- Hate to Love
- Tattooed Mountain Man Playboy X Fiery Black Cat Divorcee
- Meddlesome Family
- Sex Club Shenanigans & Kink Exploration
- Sexy Powerpoint
- Cat Daddy
- Curvy Heroine/Midsize Rep
Who knew that a chance encounter at a sex club between two people that loathe each other would make for such a great meet cute? Amy Daws, that's who.
Dakota is recently divorced from her disparaging husband and looking to find herself again, and Calder is her best friend's sexy brother in law who doesn't do relationships. This should make him the perfect man to help her explore her post-divorce sexuality without the complications of feelings getting involved. There's just one problem. They have hated one another for seven years after a home renovation gone wrong. But after the unexpected sex club meeting and being forced to share a room at a destination wedding, sparks fly in more ways than one, with enemies becoming friends enemies with benefits. And what follows is chaotically fun, unexpectedly sweet, and seriously spicy.
I love the quirks and imperfections that Amy Daws writes into her characters. Dakota's fear of birds and using Calder's face as shield from a birdcage made me literally lol. And Calder's over the top love of cats was as hilarious as it was endearing. But while each MC has qualities that make them charming, neither character is perfect. Dakota's insecurity and second guessing makes her willfully oblivious to the changes occurring to Calder and their relationship. And fear of getting hurt again causes her to lash out at times. Calder's baggage has led to such an unwillingness to rock the boat or change the status quo that his life has become stagnant. He doesn't allow himself to want more, so when he does, he struggles to voice it. Apart, they're kind of a mess. But together they're a mess that works. Their fiery banter and the tension that comes with loving to fight with one another is steamy and entertaining, while their character growth continues subtly in the background. It's not in your face but it is undeniably there, and the tenderness that develops between Calder and Dakota sort of sneaks up on them (and you). Add in the way Calder praises Dakota and helps her get her confidence back, Dakota helps Calder to see his own potential, a sexy power point checklist, and a family who is meddlesome in the best way, and you get a romance that is equal parts funny, spicy, and sweet.
This has been a fun series so far. I adore Everly and her scheming, matchmaking ways, and I can't wait until she works her magic on her uncle Luke!
I received an advanced reader copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving my honest review. Thank you to NetGalley and Harlequin Trade Publishing/Canary Street Press for the ARC!

round up 4.75⭐
Calder is looking for a fun time, not a long time. He is working in the family business. Which is how he met Dakota seven years ago.
Dakota is recently divorced and is looking to gain her confidence and have some fun. She runs into the person despised the most, Calder. Things start to change when the MCs come to a mutual agreement.
I had so much fun with this book. The bickering, teasing, and flirting were everything! This book has me laughing and giggling. I have enjoyed each book in this series so far. I can't wait for book 3!!
tropes:
enemies to lovers
Force proximity
One bed

This book is comedic gold. I loved Nine Month Contract so much, I didn’t think this one would be able to compete but somehow, Amy Daws did it again! Her writing is sharp, hilarious, and endlessly heartwarming. Her characters are real, flawed, and so relatable.
I absolutely loved the dynamic between Calder and Dakota. Their feisty banter, the tension, and the arguing made for the best foreplay! The moment Calder realizes he doesn’t actually hate Dakota gave 10 Things I Hate About You epic speech vibes:
“But mostly I hate the way
I don’t have you—
not even close,
not even a little bit,
not even at all.”
Ughhhh, you know a book is good when it reminds you of one of the greatest classics of all time!
This is the kind of book that leaves you feeling lighter—and a bit more confident in yourself. It’s so fun and will have you laughing the whole way through. This book should be on everyone’s TBR!

I loved this book so much!! This book is the second in a series and could be read as a stand alone, but I think it’s better and adds a lot of context to read Nine Month Contract first. I was lucky enough to get an ARC of Seven Year Itch, and I went back and read Nine Month Contract before I dived into this one. They were my first books by this author!
Calder and Dakota were such a ride. I thought the whole book was going to be the trip to Mexico, but it was so much more. Calder was so adorable, and I loved seeing Dakota’s growth throughout the story. She healed so much along the way and it was beautiful to see.
I cannot wait to read the next book in the series!! I plan to go back now and read previous books from this author to learn more about some of the cast of characters that pop up in here.
