I received a copy of this eBook from netGalley for a honest review.

This little Halloween book is perfect for anyone who likes to be a little different and a leader. Ghost says many things but not boo but why should she have to?

A cute book for parents to read to young toddlers, twisting around the "who says what" format via a friendly Halloween ghost saying "meow!" instead of "Boo!" It introduces little ones to challenge "how things should be" in a lighthearted way. The illustrations are simple, easy to identify, and add to the charming Halloween mood. I appreciated the ghosts' "glow" around them reflecting on the environment and the text. There are some pages where the text blends too far into the background, but I am hopefully assuming that is more of a formatting error that will be fixed in final printing.

Ghost Says Meow by Lauren Kukla is a perfect book for young scholars. It has darling, whimsical illustrations that will keep you turning the pages. The main character, a ghost, is brave and dares to defy expectations. This is a great book to explore descriptive sounds. Young children can try making the sounds while enjoying this book. Highly recommend picking up this story.. Thanks for letting me read an early eARC.

A cute Halloween story. There were a lot of Halloween stories in the past few years about little ghosts, witches, etc. not living up to the treachery of their family and peers but this one is a bit more lighthearted and silly, well-suited for ages 2-5.

Ghost Says Meow! is an adorable Halloween story about a Ghost who tries out other sounds other than "boo". The ghost is confronted by the other animals saying they are wrong for making other sounds and are supposed to only say the word "boo". The ghost encourages the animals to try out different sounds other than what they are supposed to do and have fun with it. It is a great reminder to be who you are and even if you're known for one thing, it is okay to try something different!

Ghost Says Meow! is a wonderful new addition to seasonal fall reads for children, teachers, and librarians. The story is sure to teach little ones that it is great to be yourself. It promotes acceptance and self expression. I highly recommend it for collections where seasonal reads and all about me reads are particularly popular.

This is an adorable book about a little ghost who doesn't want to say boo. My kids were laughing and loved the silly things the ghost said. We love reading holiday themed books in our house.

"Ghost Says Meow"by Lauren Kukla is a Halloween story which belongs to children's fiction and advocates the celebration of one's uniqueness. The story shares an impactful message about the way people believe one should believe and his/her will. It incorporates the idea to be yourself and enrich your identity. The story uses many onomatopoeic words that unravels the significance of the story. The plot of halloween and the scenarios the ghost faces juxtaposes the perplexity of certain circumstances. The story is characterized by conversations between animals skeleton pumpkins etc which evokes the spooky environment the story potrays.

okay this one was adorable. and I loved the illustrations. This was a cute story about being you, and defying expectations. just because society says "you are supposed to do....or act a certain way" this book shows its okay to be you, and do you, despite societal norms

I could really picture myself reading this book to my young grandchildren or my preschool class (when I used to teach preschool). I think the sounds the characters make would be fun and really keep a child's attention. I loved reading stories that I could involve the children in, and anything with sounds made that easy to do. I think the rhyming also helps make this a fun book to read. The illustrations are eye catching and colorful! Overall I really enjoyed this story and I would recommend it to anyone reading it to young children.

Thank you Lauren Kukla and North Star Editions | Jolly Fish Press for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book via NetGalley! This review was written voluntarily and all opinions are my own.

A cute rhyming Halloween book about a ghost that doesn't say what you'd normally expect. Great for reading aloud to a group and having children guess what the ghost says.

This is super cute and a fun way to introduce different sounds and excitement to your reading time. I also love the message of individuality. Definitely a cute Halloween read.

Filled with rhymes and sounds and repetition that kids will love! Especially for very young children who are learning the concepts of things being "silly" and diverting expectations. I felt the ghosts ending brave speech was aimed more towards older kids which did not give a clear indication of what developmental age it was written for, but over all a very fun book that is perfect for reading out loud together or at a story time.
