I was so happy to receive an advanced electronic copy in netgalley of this sweet book. I read it with my toddler son several nights in a row and he is hooked. He's a huge fan of halloween themed books all year round. I love how the book challenges you to be yourself and be different! That different is okay and strong! We are trying to raise a free and independent thinker, and these books are right up his alley. Thank you so much for the opportunity!

Such a fun, silly, and lighthearted lesson about being yourself. Kukla’s latest work is all treat and no tricks! You’ll get to know these characters well, because as soon as you finish the last page, your young audience will surely shout, “Again!”

Such a cute Halloween story! As soon as I received the ARC, I sat down with my 5-year-old and we read about the Witch, Ghost Cat, Ghost Frog and Ghost Cow. Meow, Ribbit, and Mooo!! I loved making the sounds out for my son. The illustrations were adorable, and the story is great.
Thank you Net Galley and Lauren Kukla for the ARC opportunity

The book was beautifully written. Overall, the book was well written and I did really enjoy it. Thank you for this advance reading copy!

So freaking cute!! This book is so fun, humorous, and adorable. I love its simplicity, which makes it a perfect fit for super young readers. Additionally, little kids will love the various surprises that this book has to offer, and I have no doubt that they will be giggling as they read, and it will make them want to read this book over and over again. Lastly, the moral of the story was simple yet effective: be unafraid, be yourself. The story conveys this perfectly without letting it overshadow the other aspects of the book. Bravo!!

Ok. I LOVED this and cannot wait to add it to my son's Halloween bookshelf. The cadence and rhymes are perfect for reading aloud and I can already hear him giggling every time the ghost says something new. The illustrations are perfection - fun and colorful while still being so aesthetic.
Thank you for the opportunity to read and review!

This is a cute Halloween story. The illustrations are nice. There is very little text. Essentially, the ghost wants to be himself and make his own noise.
We will buy this for the library as holiday titles alway circulate well. Thank you for the ARC.

Ghost Says Meow! Is an adorably illustrated Halloween tale about sticking to your guns and loving just who you are despite pushback from others. In this story, ghost wants to make ALL types of sounds, not just the frightening ones expected of him. This story is sure to not only be a hilarious read aloud, but one that comes with a great lesson as well. This serves an engaging and interactive storytime setting well as Ghost Says Meow! can really kick off a larger discussion pertaining to so many different things. This is a classic rhyming tale perfect for any library collection, sure to be read on a loop.

Halloween is all about having fun and pretending you are something you're not. Little ghost loves to pretend at Halloween, but all his friends think he should toe the line and just say BOO. This book is filled with spooky words and illustrations that will make it a fun read for young listeners.

This was a hit! Our 4-year-old Halloween & cat fan absolutely loved this book. She was laughing out loud and thought this was the best Halloween book ever. We adults love the positive message in the book.
The only negative thing is that now we have to wait until September to get the physical book, and she wants it right now.

This is an absolutely adorable book. My kids loved it and the illustrations were perfect. 10/10 will recommend.

I received an ARC of this children's book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
This is a really cute book. Both the pictures and the story are adorable!

An adorable story of a little ghost who wants to say more than just 'boo!' Even when her Halloween pals tell her that she's wrong, she bravely stands in her truth and lets them know they can go a little outside of the box, too!
Short and sweet with super cute illustrations, and I can imagine it'd be a hit at storytime.
Thank you to NetGalley and the author for providing me with a free eARC in exchange for an honest review.

Ghost Says Meow! was adorable. The unexpectedness of having a ghost say a variety of sounds is sure to cause laughs in small children. It is a cute Halloween themed book that I will recommend to those with small children. The art work is also fantastic!

My three year old loved this story and it had him cracking up every time the ghost said something new. He loved guessing which animal would be next and caught onto the rhyming in the story pretty quickly. He’s now had me read it to him 5 times so I’d say this book is a win for him!

This is a sweet story, and I love the sound rich vocabulary. I think parts of it may be scary for the intended audience - or it could be my own projections of thinking about ghosts and graveyards.

Thank you Jolly Fish Press for this ARC. It is a cute story with easy rhyming and engaging illustrations. A perfect additional to fall toddler reads!

I love children's poetry and this book is particularly fun because it sets up a pattern and then surprises you. This is a fantastic book if you enjoy interacting with kids while reading. The pictures are cute and the story is unique. Thanks to NetGalley for letting me read this

Mother of two here! Ghost Says Meow, by Lauren Kukla, is adorable. We all loved this sweet story of a ghost who wants to say everything but “boo”. My 5-year-old laughed out loud at the different things Ghost said! The theme of the book, that we don’t need to be what someone assumes we are, was so sweet. A rhyming children’s book is always a major plus for our family too! The illustrations were so fun, we always love a seasonal book that we can pull out every fall! This book was perfect for my 8yo to read to my 5yo, I would recommend it to another family!
Thank you NetGalley and Jolly Fish Press for this eARC!

This adorable book show's kids that you don't have to do things just because "That's how it's always been done". My daughter (5) and I read this book and she thought all the different types of ghosts were fun to see. She assumed (as did I) that the ghost was always going to say Meow, so when it changed we were happily surprised. My daughter was invested in how the ghost was feeling as the book went on, and had questions about why all of the characters said different things. This gave us the chance to talk about how we don't always have to follow what's normal and we can be our own person. The illustrations are adorable, the poem is very fun, and the meaning is well presented allowing for discussion afterward. We read this ebook through NetGalley.
