Conclusion to Livia and Erik love story

This conclusion to Livia and Erik love story was beautifully done. Their's journeys to get back to each other had me aching for them both and the new threads introduced into this book left me anticipating what to come in the series. I truly enjoy the worlds that Andrews paints for us through her writing. I enjoy seeing all the characters for the old generation to the new generation. I already plotting in my head all the potention new love interests. Can't wait for The Mist Thief.

What a beautiful conclusion to this duology! I cannot express enough how much I love the world's that LJAndrews creates the the detail she pours into her characters. Erik is top tier in this book with the way he searches for Livia and the way he pines for her. I am so excited to continue with the next part of this series with The Mist Thief and whatever else LJ writes. She is an automatic read from r me Everytime!!!!

Beautiful second installment for the series. LJA could write a phone book and I’d eat it up. So excited for the remainder of the series

This was such a bittersweet read! My Ever King and Queen era has officially come to a close, but I am so excited to dive into The Mist Thief next.

The Ever Queen is a strong follow-up, and as a whole this book made my heart so happy. I loved the found family in this one, with Erik joining forces with Livia’s friends for her rescue. The side characters truly made this book for me. Specifically Mira and Tait, Hearttalker (*grumbles* “It’s Heartwalker”) and Rorik, who is an absolute gem. I adored all of his moments with Erik. Plenty of cute banter and heartfelt moments throughout!

My man Erik was a man possessed in this book, and his devotion to getting our girl Livia back was hot. He was not shy about his love and absolutely delivered on the romance. Maybe a bit overkill at times, but I am not mad about it when we got lines like:

“What do you not understand? I care nothing for my life if she is not in it.”

“I do not know what it is like for a mortal to drown, but I hear it feels like their lungs are bursting. That was every moment you were gone, love. Only when you were in my arms again did I breathe.”

I mean...cmon! I love him.

The pacing was a bit mixed for me. It started off really strong, hit a lull in the middle, then picked back up with the battle scene. But once again, the bonus chapters delivered! The wedding, Erik’s moments with her Daj and Rorik, don't even get me started!! My heart melted all over again.

Overall, this was a great conclusion to Livia and Erik’s story! These books are such easy reads and genuinely such a good time. I love them!

Getting more of this world and characters was everything I wanted! I seriously can never get enough of LJs characters. I could read them all day everyday. They are all so witty and fun!

This picks up right where book one ends and I loved that! I had to know what happened next!

Erik and Livia are a powerhouse and I’ll forever be obsessed with Erik’s wicked mouth 🤤 any book with him is already top tier.

I loved all the action in this one and seeing powers being used.
The more we get of the parents, I can’t wait to read about them in The Broken Kingdoms.

This was a great conclusion to Erik and Livs story!

Thank you to NetGalley, Berkley Pub and LJ Andrews and team for the eARC of the Ever Queen. I can't wait for the re-release omg. I will never get enough of Erik Bloodsinger and the way that he makes every part of me sing - i'm down bad atrious for this man.

He gifts her the BONES..... of her enemies..... in the form of a necklace *swoons* Name a better man…. I’ll wait.

This story picks up directly after the end of the Ever King. I usually am not a fan of the FMC and MMC being separated for continuous time. But Erik held his own in his POVs. They spent all their time working to get back to each other - including him reaching out to the people he thought hated him the most (I can’t get enough of him).

Be prepared to audibly scream at at least one point in this book because I think my heart shattered for a second and have to be put back together.

You get a throne scene. A sit on my face moment. And spice that made me wonder how long it is before she has Littles. He embraced her as a woman in strength, femininity and as an equal. This man.

The introduction of new characters was so perfectly executed. While also flawlessly concluding Erik and Livia’s story, there is also a great lead into the Mist Thief which centers on Skadi and Jonas. Also the little hints of other relationships were amazing. I love Tait and Mira (book 4 book 4 book 4). Also Celine gets so many moments to shine - I think she is one of my favorite side characters ever with strength and grace omg. Side characters are always really important to me in a story (especially in a series).

LJ Andrews, you have OUTDONE yourself and I will be going to back to read the stories of the generation before them. Valen and Elise being featured throughout this story and the parallels to Erik and Livia’s relationship was really heartwarming.

With this you also get more of the origins and world. All around amazing!

The Ever Seas duet is one of my all time favorite series. We are introduced to a new cast of character but still get glimpses of our favorite characters from The Broken Kingdom. Erik and Livia's story was hard earned and well worth the tension and anxiety that this book gave me. Not only do you fall even more in love with the main characters but the side characters all play such pivotal roles that you fall in love with them as well. I can't wait to see what the future brings for them in the new books in the works.

The Ever Queen picks up right where the ever king ended. Erik needs the help of Livia’s family to help find her after she’s been kidnapped. We get to see broken kingdom cameos in this which I absolutely loved! Erik and livias reuniting scene made me get all misty eyed. They are just incredible together. This one brings us right into book 3! Jonas’s story!

While I enjoyed the first book in the series, I struggled with this one. The politics of the Elves lost me a bit and I found myself not caring about the conflict. I did enjoy seeing Erik and Livia reunited but for some reason the romance didn’t hold the same appeal for me. I thought their declarations of love got a bit repetitive.

My favorite part was how the sea & earth fae came together and all of the different characters interacting. I do genuinely love a lot of the characters and may be interested in reading their stories. I’m just sad to say that I didn’t love this duology as much as I hoped I would.

Thank you to Berkley and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

4.5 stars!

An action-packed, exciting, and beautifully detailed conclusion to Erik and Livia’s story. 🥹

Some characters and world-building took a minute to digest compared to The Ever King, but I still LOVE this series and can’t wait to read The Mist Thief!

I didn’t realize this was Erik and Livia’s final book! LJ Andrews did a great job with this romance filled dark fantasy, the Viking x pirate fae vibes are so fun.⚓️🏴‍☠️⚔️🌿

I didn’t think it was possible to love these characters any more than I already did. Then LJ went and dropped this piece of perfection and proved me wrong!

And I fell madly in love all over again!

This was the conclusion that Livia and Erik had been fighting their entire lives for and I couldn’t have imagined it going any other way. I have a deep appreciation for the time they had to endure apart because it showed them both exactly what they are capable of, and the depths they will go to get back to each other. Their relationship spans many turns and goes well beyond the bonds of magic.

“Love could draw out the most brutal pieces of the heart.”

The relationships throughout are what make this series. There are no side characters to be had. Each character plays such a pivotal role in the events that take place and we learn just how interconnected everyone really is.

The interactions between Valen and Erik continue to be a favorite of mine. The wisdom and love he gives Erik, much like a father would, have me all in my feels.

I started with The Ever series, and you better believe I will be going back and reading The Broken Kingdoms series to get more of the back story from the earth fae I’ve come to love so much.

This series has a piece of my heart and was perfection at every turn. I can’t wait to see what happens next, because while Liv and Erik have their HEA, the story is far from over!!!

Thank you for the free book, Ace books!

In the second book of this epic romantasy series, it picks up right where book one left off. In this world, pirates and Vikings battle in a kingdom of sea fae, witches, and earth fae. The stakes are high as the queen is held captive and the king has vowed revenge.

Although this book was good, it didn’t draw me in quite as much as the first. There were moments of high action followed by slower parts, and that was what made it good but not great for me. I do think other readers will love this book, and maybe it just wasn’t quite right for me.

What readers can expect:
Mighty battles and fight scenes
Epic visual descriptions of the worlds
Touch her and die MMC
Found family
Open door spice- several scenes
Kidnapping
Magic

I got The Ever King as an ebook awhile ago and when I saw The Ever Queen was coming out, I decided it was time to read the series!

The overall premise of the story was good, but there were times that the story failed to hold my attention and I struggled to care about some of the characters. The pace of the book some times rushed on, while other times I found myself bored and waiting for the next thing to happen.

I did love the family and friend group relationship with the FL. I also do plan on reading the next book in the series - I believe it switches focus to a different character who I thought was interesting, so hopefully I like this one a little bit better!

Unfortunately, I made the decision to DNF this book. While I truly appreciate the author’s creativity and the world that was being built, I found myself struggling to stay engaged with the plot in this second installment. The pacing felt inconsistent, and there were stretches where the story began to feel stagnant

It’s clear that there’s a lot of heart and intention behind the writing, and I know this book will resonate with the right readers, it just didn’t quite hold my attention the way I’d hoped. I needed a bit more momentum and depth to stay invested

That said, every reader connects with stories differently, and I’m glad this series has found a home with so many others. I always root for authors and their work, even when a particular book isn’t the right fit for me

Wishing this book continued success and hoping others enjoy the journey more than I was able to

I absolutely loved this book! The magic system, the world building, and character development, the plot, the found family. There isn’t anything about this book that i disliked. The way Erik would literally do anything to get back to Livia. The way her family was also just as willing to anything to get livia back. This story was so beautiful I can’t stop thinking about it.

After the first book ended on a mean cliffhanger, I was excited to pick The Ever Queen up! It was fine but after about halfway through, I started to lose interest. I didn't feel super interested in the characters and I'm disappointed that I haven't found another of L. J. Andrews' books that compares to her Of Mischief and Mages!

Re-release coming soon!

Yay for added content! I can't get enough of Eric and Livia. Same of my all time favorite scenes are from this book. Hint..."She needs me to remind her to breathe" Ugh!! So good.

The suspense. The plot twists. The fights. The romance 🥵 And more earth fae (and alvers!) joining in on the fun! Who could ask for more. Utter perfection. Needless to say I've read this series mannnny times and will again...and again!

Review for 8/2/2025

Ok, so I loved The Ever King. With the banter and build up, it was amazing. But The Ever Queen! It blew the first book out of the water! The well of emotions that this book brought on were unfreakinreal! As someone who has claimed for the longest that my favorite trope is enemies to lovers, the lack of that element in this book didn’t hurt my feelings.

Reading The Ever Queen and stepping back into this world honestly felt like it was an extension of the first book. All of the angst and yearning left from the end of book one carried over and seamlessly transitioned into the quest to make things right again. It was fantastic. Not only that, but we get so much more of the character interactions between the earth fae and sea fae. It’s full of the brutality of war and the coming together of two peoples for the greater good.

The way LJ Andrews conveys the love and devotion between Livia and Erik is amazing. Where The Ever King was more of an introduction to their story and how they come together before being ripped apart again, The Ever Queen is a thorough exploration of how far a Serpent is willing to go to get back to his Songbird. It’s beautiful and vicious and I loved every minute of it. There’s so much more depth and feeling in this book than there is in the first. My heart bled at time and then sang once everything was as it should be. This remains one of my favorite LJ Andrews book of all time and the new bonus material is perfection! All the stars.

Thank you to NetGalley and Penguin Publishing Group for allowing me to review a free ebook in exchange for my honest review and opinions.

LJ Andrews seriously never misses. The Ever Queen has everything I want in a fantasy romance—suspense, heartbreak, slow-burn tension, and that perfect happily ever after.
I’m a sucker for a broken boy, and Erik? He is that until Livia. Their connection is so intense and emotional—it got me right in the feels. And Livia’s growth? She steps fully into her power in this book, becoming the queen she was always meant to be. Watching her rise was so satisfying.

The world gets even bigger in this one, and I loved seeing the side characters get their own moments to shine. The found family vibes are everything, and honestly one of my favorite parts of the series.

I already can’t wait for The Mist Thief, but until then, The Ever Queen completely delivered. If you’re into high-stakes romance with all the feels, don’t skip this one.

this was a bit of let down as a sequel. I really enjoyed the first 30-40% but after that I felt like the characters were too sappy for me. I also just felt like a shift in Erik's personality too which is a shame. The fantasy plot just lost me a bit too unfortunately:(
