I read this just in time for summer and the re-release of this book. I’m so excited this series got picked up for trad publishing, because it is very well deserved. The first part of this story had me on the edge of my seat during the separation. Was I worried though? No, because I had all the faith in the world for our man, Erik, to get his girl back. I didn’t doubt him for a second. The story did progressively get more epic as we went on. I’m super excited for the next book. I can’t wait to see where this story takes us.
Thank you for this arc in exchange for an honest review.

I had a ton of hope going into this book after absolutely devouring the Ever King. However, I felt like the beginning was very rushed and then in the middle, it dragged and the pacing was off. The romance did get annoying at times because of the spicy scenes sprinkled in rather than pushing the plot along. Overall, I loved the found family aspect and how truly and deeply people loved in this book. Overall, would I recommend it? Yes, if you want an ending to the Ever King. However, as much as I want to continue reading, I will have to take a breather and read other things beforehand so I can be fully invested.
I enjoyed this book but in the end it definitely isn’t my favorite.

Review goes live July 14
The first half of this book is fast paced and then slows a little in the last half. I loved this book and is a great continuation of Liv and Erik's story. I'm also a sucker for when the MC gets kidnapped by the (actual) enemy, so this was totally my jam. Skadi was so frustrating in the beginning because I was so confused, but I was glad that Livia was also confused and frustrated, so that made me feel better about this being on purpose. I'm excited about reading Jonas's story in The Mist Thief and learning more about the elves.

“She needs me to find her; she . . . she needs me to remind her to breathe.”
“I would follow your darkness, every ugly truth, across the skies and seas.”
While I've read The Ever Queen a few times already, I was so excited to receive an ARC of the new traditional edition and read it again! I was even more excited to read the new bonus material!
Some spoilers for this book and the previous book, The Ever King, ahead.
The Ever Queen picks up where The Ever King leaves off: Livia has been taken by Erik’s long lost brother, Larsson. And now Erik is tasked with something he never thought he would do: asking her father Valen, the man who killed his father, for help. Erik and Valen facing off gave me intense choice paralysis.
Over on the fading island of Natthaven, Livia is held captive by Larrson and the newly introduced elven. A blood spell has been cast to bind her to the island, but she is determined to return to her Serpent! Larsson has wicked plans for Livia, but through her own strength, and the help of the elven princess Skadi, is able to escape the palace and hide out, waiting for Erik and the Ever Ship to rescue her.
One thing I love about this book is getting to know Livia’s friends more! We met a few at the beginning of the first book before Erik took her, but we get to spend a lot of time with them as they and Valen join Erik to rescue Livia! Jonas, Sander, Mira, and Aleksi are such fun characters. I love the dynamic between them. Throughout his journey to rescue Livia, Erik learns to love Livia in a whole new way through her friends and father as they share stories of their lives growing up. Mira is particularly fun, and enjoys trying to get a rise out of Tait, even giving him a nickname he hates. I can’t wait to get more of them in The Stolen Crown next year!
Erik and Livia’s reunion is absolutely incredible! He arrives as Livia is holding strong against her captives, proving herself a formidable fae as they try to take her again. As Erik reaches her and tries to bring her back to the skip, the blood spell holding her to the island tears her apart, but he is able to use his blood and voice to sing her back. I was so enthralled and at the edge of my seat!!
Throughout the rest of the book Livia continues to prove why she is my favorite book character and Erik elevates himself from my book boyfriend to my book husband. The vicious ways he shows his love are so delicious. (Her crown is made from Larsson’s bones!!)
The ending perfectly sets up and gets you excited for the next books in the series, The Mist Thief and The Stolen Crown!!
The bonus content at the end had me crying with joy! I loved being able to finally see Erik and Livia exchange vows with each other! Erik is determined to be bound to Livia in every way he can!

The Ever Queen is the epic conclusion to Livia and Erik’s story and cemented this duet as one of my all time favourite reads!! In this book Erik and Livia have to fight for each other along with the fate of the Ever Kingdom. There’s epic battles, amazing family and friend relationships, and incredible romance!
This show how far these two are willing to go for each other. I completely love Erik and Livia’s relationship! It’s beautiful, vicious, and truly epic.
Livia learns more about her self and her power and I really enjoyed seeing her become a badass Queen. She definitely has a vicious side but she’s also very compassionate.
Now again, I can’t call Erik a good man but he definitely has my heart! He’s ruthless and not very forgiving but he does care for his people. And he’s willing to do anything for those he calls family.
We also get a lot more of Livia’s friends and family, who I adore. They are all total badasses and I love how they accept Erik as one of their own, even Livia’s dad.
I need to get physical copies of these books because I definitely want them on my shelves!! I’m so excited for Jonas’s book and already added the Broken Kingdoms series to my TBR, I have to read about all these parents!
This book has:
- pirates x vikings
- fae & sirens
- epic battles
- fated mates
- touch her & ☠️

I loved the first book. I don't know if I just was falling out of a fantasy mood, this just took a little more effort for me to get through. It was still a good read, and I enjoyed the uniqueness of this book. The beginning grabbed me, and I was fully engaged but then towards the end it took a little more effort for me- but that could've been my mood.
I enjoyed the side characters and the found family trope this book created. I also loved the world... the pirates, fae, witches and Vikings was so unique that it was all in one world. I loved that. Now the chemistry keeps getting hotter and I'm here for it.
Thank you NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Literally just as good as book one was. I loved it and we got to see more of the earth magic. I was so happy with the ending and how it set up for the third book! I’d love a Celine and Stormbringer chapter or something !

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
🌶️
Wow.
No notes. This was the PERFECT way to end Erik and Livia’s story.
I truly don’t know why I waited so long to read the first book, but once I did, I knew I had to finish the series ASAP. Viking fae? How could I say no to that?????
The first book made me fall in love with these characters and the world and this one just solidified that love even more. Livia is such a strong, capable woman, and truly deserving of being the first Ever Queen. Everything she did not just for her own people, but for the sea fae and the world itself? She’s incredible.
And Erik??? Don’t get me started. I love him. His dedication to Livia, to his family and friends, to his people? This man is willing to DIE for the people he cares about. He is willing to give everything up to keep them safe and we need to protect him for that. He truly is the Ever King.
The adventure was truly something else in this book! The battles, the magic, the relationships, the politics. God, there was so much but also not enough. I’m ready to start over at the beginning so I can keep spending time with this story!
All of the new characters, new lands, and new information only makes this series better and it’s such a great setup for future books! (wink wink, nudge nudge)
Thank you SO MUCH to Berkley for this ARC and I am IMMEDIATELY jumping into book 3! 🫶🏻

I thought this was very good and I will have to add this to the shop shelves. Thank you for the chance for us to review.

The Ever Queen, the second book in this duology, delivered such a satisfying and emotional ending for Erik and Livia. Erik is everything—morally grey, loyal, intense—and Livia is absolutely fierce. I loved seeing more of her family and friends in this one; it added so much depth. Erik and Livia’s relationship is seriously one of my favorites of all time. Their bond, the tension, the growth—perfection. I cannot wait for Jonas’s story in The Mist Thief! This was everything I wanted and more. Loved it!

Oh my stars and shadows... Erik Bloodsinger was ready to start a war for her—and I was ready to hand him the sword. Erik Bloodsinger will eternally be my #1 book boyfriend, and literally NOTHING can knock him down from that spot.
This book wrecked me in the best way. The final (ish?) chapter in Erik and Liv’s saga is every bit as bloody, beautiful, and emotionally loaded as I hoped. L.J. does what L.J. does best: rip out your heart, stitch it together with longing, and throw it into an ocean storm.
💔 The Setup:
Liv is kidnapped...again (because why make it easy, right?) by an enemy of Erik’s, and this time it feels different. More personal. More brutal. While she fights her own battles, Erik has to face the truth that the weight of the Ever doesn’t have to rest on his shoulders alone. But that doesn’t mean he won’t burn everything down to bring her back.
🖤 What I Loved:
• Erik. Freaking. Bloodsinger. His arc here? So much pain, so much growth. He’s fierce and violent, but vulnerable and soft for Liv in ways that made me SCREAM.
• Liv’s resilience. She’s done being stolen. Done being silent. She’s fighting for her own damn ending. She will burn the world for him. I'll hand her the torch.
• The side characters?? So good. New faces pop in that clearly set up the next arc (The Mist Thief) and I am already obsessed.
• Bonus content in the new trad published version? 👀 Absolutely worth every page. Those added Erik & Liv scenes destroyed me. (Bless you, Berkley + NetGalley.)
⚔️ The Vibe:
Enemies everywhere. Gods whispering. Ships sailing through cursed waters. And one man willing to cross worlds to bring his queen home. It’s got pirates, fae, Vikings, vengeance, and just enough magic to keep you guessing. Think ACOTAR meets Pirates of the Caribbean with better angst and less predictability.
⏳ Minor Gripes:
• The middle did slow down a bit. I needed a tad more urgency in the second act.
• Some of the magic stuff still feels a little foggy, but honestly, I was too emotionally invested in the romance to care much.
✨ Final Thoughts:
This didn’t feel like the end of Erik and Liv, and maybe that’s the best part. It’s a satisfying, gutting finale but not a goodbye. If you love slow-burn, morally gray pirate kings who would burn the world for their queen, this entire series is for you. I would know...I've read it TWICE now.
And yes, I'm on L.J's Street Team. Yes, I'm OBSESSED with her and part of Sigur Haven. I’m in the Wicked Darlings FB group and newsletter and I have zero regrets. See you all in The Mist Thief 🖤
📚 Recommended for fans of:
• Ruthless pirate kings
• Found family
• Soul-deep fantasy romance
• Emotionally damaged men who worship their queen
• Bonus scenes that ruin your life in the best way

Book 2 in the ever seas series by lj andrews. I love love loved it! so far both books are an easy 5 stars. The writing is so captivating and the characters are just so easy to love...... did I mention the HOT HOT HOT Erik Bloodsinger! ahhhhh! the way i absolutely love this series! 10/10

Dual POV, second in duology for Erik and Livia, enemies to lovers, k!dn@pping, pirate and Viking vibes, found family, mental health rep, touch her and 💀, she gets more bones to wear, morally grey MMC, unique world and magic system, betrayal, fae/sirens/mermaids/witches/elves, second generation from previous book series (can read these first! I did!), banter
We pick up right where book 1 left off with Livia in enemy hands and Erik putting himself at her father's mercy to ask for help to save her. When her people prove too move too slowly, Erik has to escape and go after his love with her friends that tag along with him. Livia is learning more about the betrayal that put her in this situation and a long plot against Erik.
I did reread this via this audiobook! I thought Lucy Rivers and Will Thorne did a wonderful job! They had the range of voices and were wonderful at getting across the extra emotional parts of the story!
I loved this book! I love that we got more of the second generation of children from the Broken Kingdom couples! They are so fun! And of course, more of Erik - I will burn the world down for Livia - Bloodsinger😍. I always feel that LJ balances risk and being in perilous situations well with pacing and periods of ok things are fine for now. This is the end of the duology featuring Livia and Erik's arc, but there are more stories to come featuring her friends!

Book:The Ever Queen
Author: LJ Andrews
Series: The Evers Seas, Book 2
Length: 437 Pages
Publisher: Ace/Berkley
Overall Rating: 6 Stars
Tumblr Blog Review Rating: 6 Stars
Enemies had taken Livia from the man who loves her more than life itself! These enemies have not taken a weak, frightened, biddable woman but a tiger with razor sharp claws! She knows how to fight and trick these types of villains! She won’t be satisfied until they pay from keeping her from the man she loves more than life itself!
As for Eric he is out for blood for these spiteful creatures for even touching a hair on his woman’s head! He will search every corner of the the earth if that is what it takes! Until she is safe in his arms once again! However these enemies of his will wish they were dead after he makes them serverly suffer before he finishes them off!
This is definitely a 6 stars book review for me. As it was another masterpiece in the usual (LJ Andrews) style in this marvelous second installment in The Ever-Seas series. Furthermore I was immediately swept into this hypnotic tale that was totally addicting! Don’t mess with this Queen or you will be paying for your treachery! Again, I read it in under 24 hours which had my heart racing. The world building was absolutely phenomenal. It is no wonder that LJ Andrews is a favorite fantasy author of mine!
Here are my a few reasons why I recommend this amazing book! It has banter, fated mates, swoon worthy hero that will make your heart melt and feisty heroine you don’t want to tangle with! On top of that there fighting, spice-for the passionate readers and death defying villains. Definitely a book readers don’t want to miss! Especially if you read the first book in this series, it is titled “The Ever King” with a nail biting ending cliffhanger.
I loved everything about this book! The enemy to lovers trope, character development, the love between Erik and Livia, the drama, obstacles, plus Livia was absolutely brilliant her captors had no idea what they were in for. Plus Eric was everything dreams were made of…SWOON!!! I will definitely be rereading this duology again!
This novel is so darn good! Seriously it is one readers don't want to miss! Definitely a book I can’t recommend enough! Looking forward to The Mist Thief next which is the next

Thank you to Berkley/Ace publishing and Netgalley for this advance readers copy. All words, thoughts and ideas are my own. I also bought the audio book as I love reading while listening.

Wow! I just love LJ Andrews story telling and writing so much. This was filled with action, adventure, tension, romance, and politics! A wonderful ending to Erik and Livias story.
My absolute favorite part of this book was the epic battle scene at the end. It was like a movie. So vivid and heart-racing!! I read through it so fast because I needed to know what was going to happen.
The romance between Livia and Erik blossomed and continued with beautiful spice scenes and poetic dialogue. These two would truly burn the world down for each other.
This duology is absolutely perfect! Thank you to Net Galley and LJ Andrews for the e-arc!

4 stars. I quite literally felt like an idiot grinning at my kindle this entire book. LJ Andrews killed it once again! Erik Bloodsinger…. The man you AREEEE. I love him guys. He would do anything for Livia and I loved reading their relationship progress in this book. Livia also had a lot of growth in this book and I was so happy to read it! She really upped her game in this book! I definitely am excited to read about Jonas and see how his story plays out.
This book was definitely more focused on the romance aspect and tended to forget the fantasy side, which is fine, but I did enjoy the fantasy part of the first book and wish we got more in this book! This book was super fast-paced, then dragged, then picked up again. I do not think the book needed to be the length it was and definitely could’ve cut down some pages. Overall, this series has me in a chokehold and I can’t wait to continue with it!

Such a perfect end to this duology!!!
5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
3/5 🌶️🌶️🌶️
I absolutely love the romance between the Erik and Livia and after the cliffhanger from book one, this book was everything I wanted it to be and more!!! Not to mention Livia becomes the morally grey one and I was so. here. for. it. LJ yet again absolutely crushed it and I thought it was the perfect end to Erik and Livia's story!
And when Erik calls her "Love"....SWOON

This was everything I could've hoped for and more for Livia and Erik. It was action-packed with great pacing. There were all the twists and turns throughout the plot that kept me guessing the whole time.
I truly love Ever King and Queen's lovestory. They are both so passionate and have the whole "touch them and d!e" thing going on. I love how fiercely they fight for each other, and it was just an all-around heartwarming conclusion to their story.

I love Erik and Livias story. And that they are still connected to the Broken kingdoms characters that we all love. This is an epic pirate dark romance. With found family and enemies to lovers. What a beautiful end to their story. But I know we will see them again in the rest of the series

The Ever Queen!!
We pick up right where we left off in The Ever King, Livia has just been taken and Erik is going to her parents to ask for help...
The rescue plot had me hooked! I needed to see Livia reunited with Erik, and the addition of all of her friends and family from the Earth realm brought a levity to the story that I wasn't expecting and really enjoyed. There was a lot going on with the introduction of the Elven clan and our bad guys which made the story stall for me as we prepared for an all out war (single battle?).
I still really enjoyed reading even though the battle for the kingdom wasn't as epic as I was expecting thanks to the cast of characters and their dynamics. Because of this - you KNOW I'll keep reading The Ever Seas Series for Jonas, Tait, and Mira and glimpses of everyone else!
The Ever Seas Series has been picked up by Ace/Berkley and The Ever Queen is rereleasing on September 16th!! Thank you, Berkley, for the ARC!!
