Thank you Fierce Women Press and NetGalley for an ARC of this book.

AnnMerle Feldman has provided a wonderful introduction and resource into self-healing for over 50’s. Based on her online program of Body Vitality Method and learnings from her teacher Jill Miller,, AnnMerle teaches 5 vitality gateways that enable us to heal our whole self.

Based on interoception AnnMerle simply explains that “if you don’t feel your body, your mind takes over”.

I learned so much about Fascia and ensuring facial resilience along with the connection and importance of the role of our respiratory systems.

Each chapter has a self-healing story to illustrate the content of that chapter.
This book is a treasure, it not only provides great information for those wanting to be their healthiest selves but it is intersperesed with poems, quotes and well-researched, trusted wisdom. I loved the use of poems by Mary Oliver and seeing references from fabulous sources such as Martha Beck, Clarissa Pinkola Estes, Gabor Mate and Paul Zukac.

This book is an introduction to AnnMerle’s work and if you find this interesting she provides links to an online introductory course and her full program.
Although mentioned throughout the book, I didn’t find this detracting or a big sales pitch. The book can used used as a standalone resource for those interested.

Thank you for the opportunity to give my honest review.
This is a wonderful book and I highly recommend it.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

I have recently been interested in this author as I am over 50 and have been more curious about somatic healing and fascia release. I found much of the book a little tedious with a lot of references and case study like chapters. That said, the building blocks are here to begin to understand how I might feel better in my body and Dr. Feldman has lived experience as over 50 and a practitioner. The book is left self-care and more self-healing, which I can absolutely get behind.

A glimpse into her fierce over 50 program is offered at a deep discount at the end of the book for readers, a 5-6 part video series addressing areas of the body. The book captivated me enough to purchase the program to see if it can provide some physical relief of midlife symptoms. I have not completed the program but expect I will definitely it let learn more through doing. She has a larger scale/ monthly program that is too expensive to be accessible to me personally, I was a little disappointed in that, as the book, in a sense, feels a bit like an advertisement for this community she has developed.

I didn't resonate with this book at all. Nothing was wrong with it, but it just wasn't what I expected. Also, this book is significantly shorter than a regular book; there are only three chapters in the whole book!
