Sometimes, poetry is best delivered aloud. These fun little musings about motherhood work aloud but lose something without the accompanying art. I’ve seen several of Brantz’s parenting poems on Instagram. A fun surprise was the poetic cadence to parts of the acknowledgments.

With both humor and heart, this would be a well received gift for Mother’s Day.

The book itself was great. I could relate to so much of it. It did take me a little while to get used to the narration

I loved this book of poetry read by the author! Relatable and sweet as a mom with young kids! It was quick and charming. It would make a great baby shower gift.

As a mother of two, Poems of Parenting was such a sweet and heartfelt reminder that while the days may feel long, the years truly are short. This collection beautifully captures the highs and lows of parenthood—the laughter, the exhaustion, the chaos, and the quiet moments of love in between.

Each poem resonated with a piece of my own journey. It felt like a warm embrace from someone who understands just how messy, emotional, and rewarding parenting can be. This book normalizes the real and raw parts of raising children, while also celebrating the tenderness and joy that comes with it.

A sincere thank you to NetGalley for the opportunity to listen to this ARC audiobook. It was comforting, affirming, and a lovely companion through the wild ride of motherhood.

Such cute poems and shows the drama , love, and wild ride of parenting. I hate to say it, but I wish it was narrated by someone else. Not awful, just didn’t really enjoy the narration

This was a really sweet collection of poetry about being a mother and loving your children. The narration was excellent as well.

Well goodness. I must recommend this to every parent. Mostly centered on babies but kinda goes up to 5yo. So much relatable content. Makes you feel less alone. Even after 8 years it’s still nice to think-oh I’m not the only one??
That epilogue… couldn’t help but tear up. The illustrations are so sweet and fun in the print book that I have to recommend it over the audio. (An audio book read by the author is my favorite, but these illustrations are great and shouldn’t be missed!)
I loved this one!

Thanks to NetGalley for the arc!

I loved the print version and I was excited that there's an audio read by the author. It's even funnier! These poems are short, relatable and absolutely hilarious. This would be a fun gift for parents of any age and anyone who's ever been a baby.

These are so cute and the perfect little pick me up when parenthood feels overwhelming (aka always). Overstimulated and Pictures of You were my favorites. So relatable.

I loved this book. It’s so relatable and funny. Like, spot on, spit your drink out funny. I listened yesterday and have already told my library to stock it and told countless people. I ordered 2 for Mother’s Day gifts as well.

Bravo!

As a mom to toddlers, this collection was an absolute delight! So relatable, so heartwarming, so blissfully amusing to reflect on the most weird and wonderful parts of life. I truly enjoyed every second of this collection, and would recommend to so many people in this stage of life, or those who would appreciate a quirky reminder of how life is with new(ish) littles. And the epilogue got me teary. Loved it all!

"A collection of tender, funny, radically honest poems about parenthood"

I have been following Loryn Brantz on instagram for a while now, and always loved seeing her posts come across my feed. Having some of her poems put all together into a book makes it a wonderful item to give to new moms.

I was giggling and smiling at most of these poems, and there are others that I remember thinking of in the moment the exact same thing. "My Mini" and "Photos of You" are so descriptive is such a short amount of words that completely encompass the feelings that comes with having a little one. "How lucky am I" has me tearing up, because sometimes with the chaos that is motherhood, you just need a reminder of how lucky you are.

I feel this would be a great book to have on your shelf and pull off every so often to read her poems, as you will remember your child through them and how they were at that time.

As a mother of three, I found these poems relatable and sometimes humorous. However, the narration detracted from my enjoyment. This would be much better read in print or with a different narrator who could better convey the humor and emotion.

Loryn Brantz's poetry is so spot-on, any parents of young children can relate. Her poems are shared in my social media feed constantly, and I was fortunate enough to review the e-arc of her book, Poems of Parenting. When William Morrow, Harper Audio, and NetGalley released the e-audio ARC, I was so excited to listen. First, I was curious to hear Loryn Brantz's voice, and second, I wanted to hear how she empasized, paused, and narrated her own poetry.

She sounds like a regular mom, which I loved, and hearing the poems gave me a new way to experience them. The epilogue, which is incredibly emotional, was even more so hearing it recited out loud.

I highly recommend this audio book for all parents, and for public libraries to keep on their Libby or Hoopla accounts because it will be popular!
