It's vampire season!
This was a slow start for me, since world building and characters didn't grab my attention for the first 10% of the book. But as I kept going back to it, the character development and mystery completely got me.
While the whole enemies to lovers didn't fit on this book at some point; that ending totally summarized what this trope is all about.

First, thank you to NetGalley and Victory Editing for the ARC in exchange for an honest review💖

I have never been a fan of vampires in books. I’m not sure if it was because the whole twilight series didn’t appeal to me or if I hated that they were always romanticized with a human blood bag of a person.

However!!! this book was not like that for me. I surprisingly really liked the vampire elements and how the author wrote our MMC, Adrian.

Rae, our witchy FMC, is badass and a big part of why i enjoyed this book. She is strong and traumatized and a lot of things i like to see in MCs.

The romance was good. I feel like they’re a true example of enemies to lovers. I feel like a lot of people jump to calling books enemies to lovers but this felt like actual hatred at times.

Other tropes included: forced proximity, marriage of convenience, and morally grey characters.

The plot was always moving and intriguing. The ending had me itching to start book 2 that’s not even out yet. I was surprised a few times and I enjoyed that her writing didn’t make it too obvious.

Things I didn't like:

The FMC is always half-naked and its described each time. Even while metalsmithing (her job). I just can't realistically see this happening around such hot metal. It also just feels kinda icky to me the way she is sexualized but alas this is a smutty book so that's to be expected.

*To note, my preference in books is always closed door but I will read and typically skip or skim smut scenes.

The smut was, in my opinion, unskippable as it shows their growing vulnerability and trust within each other. This isn't necessarily a bad thing as it means that it at least served a purpose rather than writing smut just to write smut. However, it did require me to read it which as I've said, I don't enjoy as a personal preference.

All in all, I did really like this book and would be likely to recommend it to others. It surprised me that I enjoyed it as much as I did.

So good! I loved how morally grey Aidan was. And he is that way for good reason. I love the magic of this world and how it is so much like ours but a little different. Rae is such a good fmc and I cannot wait to see her growth in the second book. I loved the explanations of the creatures and the politics of the world and I cannot believe the ending! I wasn't expecting that and I really hope in the second one things are figured out!

A dual POV, marriage of convivence, urban paranormal fantasy that hits every mark!

Never Run From An Immortal hits all the marks you want in an urban paranormal romantacy.
Warring factions of paranormal creatures? check
Interesting magic systems? check
Fun tech toys? Check
Hot and Spicy chemistry between the two MCs? triple check

If modern rebellion and overthrow of systems with a side of romance is your thing, Never Run From an Immortal is for you!

This book was an unexpectedly enjoyable read! It definitely reminded me of why I loved the paranormal/urban fantasy genre growing up. I was a bit hesitant about the tech aspect as I dnfed Blood Sings that had a tech aspect that completely put me off which coincidentally was also vampires.

This book gave me Underworld vibes that I completely ate up. I loved how badass Rae was, she really didn’t flinch when things went very wrong. The fake marriage aspect was everythinggg!! It made the slow burn and the complexity of the love that they develop for each other that much more enjoyable. In saying that, the romance is there but it doesn’t overtake the plot in this first book. Lots of political intrigue and backstabbing, an every man for themselves kind of vibe. At times predictable but still a good setup for the first in a series!

Witches, Vampires, Fae and humans, it’s got it all!

Witches, Vampires, Fae and some animal side kicks? What’s not to love!

Never Run From An Immortal has a sassy FMC and a touch her and die vibe MMC that have the perfect banter.

The story was perfectly paced and the MC had a great dynamic. The writing style was fab, descriptive without being over the top. Kept me interested and had some great twists. Become invested in the FMC almost as soon as I started reading.

Would highly recommend reading. Can’t wait to see what else is in store in the next book.

Big thanks to NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review!

Never Run From An Immortal caught my eye with the promise of vampires, witches, morally gray men.. this was supposed to be everything I like in a book. The worldbuilding was there, super detailer and well thought out. The attention to detail was good, but it was hard to get lost in the setting. I wasnt really sucked in to the book. The slow-burn romance angle has promise, but my god the slow burn is basically a snail with a match stick.

I really struggled connecting to Rae. I love good snarky FMC, as much as the next gal, but Rae’s sassiness often felt like it was a bit false. I get what the author was trying to but it made it harder for me to really care about her. That said, I totally get why people love it, it just wasn't for me.

I can see people who love intrigue, politics and morally grey characters who don't mind a slow burn enjoying this.

Y'all.... This book kills it!!! I was lucky enough to receive an ARC copy and let me tell you this series is going to pull you in. The main character Rae is smart, cunning, and multifaceted. She has an interesting back story that drives her throughout the book and you get snippets of throughout. The MMC is a Vampire named Aidan who gives golden retriever vibes. The romance in this book is a slow burn that is painful at times in the best way possible. They both have a goal of making a better world but have very different ideas of how to make that happen and shocker they don't talk about their plans. In this world the Fae, Vampires, Humans, and Witches are all at war with each other and there are factions within species as well which gives this book a lot of dimension and plot elements. It's written in dual POV which I love!! My only complaint is I occasionally couldn't tell who's POV I was in and had to reread what was happening to figure it out. I will absolutely be reading Immortals #2.

I got this as an arc on Netgalley and it will come out in June. I love a messy fmc. I'm sorry but my heart wholly belongs to that especially if they have daggers. This book was simultaneously mellow and intense. I don't know how, but I loved it.

I am going to update this review as soon as I finish writing my full review, but I just need to put in here that I greatly enjoyed reading this! I was drawn in by the title and then found myself enthralled in the story and characters. I definitely recommend checking out this book!

If you’re craving a romantasy that hits like a punch to the heart and a kiss to the throat, Never Run from an Immortal is your next read. Victoria J. Price drops us into a world where blood, magic, and betrayal seep through the cracks of every dark alley—and it’s deliciously addictive.

We’re talking: ⚔️ Foul-mouthed, chaos-bringing heroine
🦇 Broody, powerful vampire lord with a broken past
👀 Enemies-to-lovers that smolders
🏙️ Urban fantasy meets high stakes political drama
💥 Forced proximity, magical bargains, slow-burn tension

Rae Farren is not here to make friends—she’s sharp-tongued, reckless, and unapologetically badass. The fact that she strikes a bargain with Aidan Vale, the morally grey vampire prince of my dark little dreams, is either genius or madness. (Spoiler: it’s both.) Their banter? Electric. Their chemistry? Off the charts. And the slow-burn? SO. SATISFYING.

But Never Run from an Immortal doesn’t stop at swoon. It digs deeper—into power, identity, and the cost of survival in a fractured world. Demesia is layered with corruption, ancient grudges, and secrets that could unravel empires. Victoria J. Price’s writing is gritty and cinematic, with just enough softness to make you care when things start to burn.

✨ The world-building is rich but accessible, with whispers of tech-meets-magic dystopia.
✨ The dual POV lets you live inside both Rae’s fire and Aidan’s shadows.
✨ And the emotional tension? It hurts in the best way.

You’ll come for the enemies-to-lovers trope, and stay for the pain, the plot twists, and the morally grey everything.

💀 “Know thy enemy,” they said. Well… turns out falling for your enemy has very real consequences.

I can’t wait to see where this series goes next. Because Rae and Aidan? They’re about to set this whole world on fire—and I’ll be cheering them on with a dagger in one hand and a glass of blood-red wine in the other.

📚✨ Perfect for fans of The Bargainer, From Blood and Ash, and City of Sin vibes.
🔥 Tropes: Enemies to Lovers, Marriage of Convenience, Forced Proximity, Morally Grey Leads, Found Family, Magic x Tech Fusion.

Thank you NetGalley, and Victoria J. Price for the eARC.

These characters? please, they are sooo good!

I have to admit, the title pulled me in with this story, but the characters kept me hooked. Rae and Aidan are a great pair of main characters with well written backgrounds and strong personalities from the first word.

Whilst I did struggle with the magic/family background to this story but at 30% in, this clicked for me, and I was just along for the fabulous ride.

The marriage of convenience trope can sometimes come across as a little creepy, but it was very well written in this book.

oh, and the banter? All day, please!

First and foremost I would like to say that I really, really enjoyed this book. What really sold it for me was Aidan's and Rae's relationship throughout the book. The enemies to lovers dynamic will always get me, but I truly loved seeing them grow closer as the story progressed. THE YEARNING!!! I also really liked the side characters, and can't wait to see them get more fleshed out as the story continues in more books. I especially liked Reed and Baelin. They really stood out to me and I fear I will grow too attached.
One thing to note is that it took me a long time to get into the story. I would say I only got truly invested at around the 50% mark. This is for a multitude of reasons but the main two being I started reading this during a major book slump and because it took me a while to really get a feel for the world building. It also took me a little longer to understand and vibe with Rae's character, but like I said once I got about half way, I finally started to connect with her which helped my experience a lot. I think these are more personal things rather than the author's or book's fault hence why it didn't impact the rating too much.
Overall I really enjoyed reading this and can't wait for more!

I was kindly gifted this as an ARC, and what I will say is that I really didn’t expect this, in all the best ways.

This book was so easy to read, and I read it over two days. It has it all: Vampires, Humans, Witches, Fae and Shifters, and the way this book is in tune with modern elements really brings the story to life, in a relatable way.

I loved the classic enemy to lovers trope, and whilst the book was predictable, it was predictable in the right way. My heart really felt for the characters and the duel POV really helped to understand the characters on a deeper level.

The only thing I would say, was there was a lot of characters and names. I forgot who people were because there were so many to remember, but I think that’s likely more of a me problem!

Would 100% recommend and hoping for a special edition!

It’s not often that a title is the first thing that intrigues me, but Never Run from an Immortal certainly did.

When I got to the tropes, I knew I’d be hooked. I can’t explain why, but a Marriage of Convenience trope in an Enemies to Lovers story is hard for me to pass up. Couple that with them both being morally gray and I’m a goner.

Rae and Aiden are both such entertaining and interesting characters and it’s so much fun to see both sides of their deal that they are each certain will fail spectacularly.

Urban romantasy has been a recent discovery of mine and it’s such a cool concept to mix in paranormal/fantasy beings into a modern world with technology and modern comforts as opposed to the “old worlds” we most commonly see them in. The way that magic is used as protection, particularly by Rae, is a really cool component to the story.

I’m so excited to continue Rae and Aiden’s story in book 2 (and not just because of what should be an illegal cliffhanger).

I picked up Never Run From An Immortal craving a dark, thrilling mix of vampires and magic—and it absolutely delivered. From the start, Rae stood out as a bold, resourceful thief-turned-spy with far more secrets than she lets on. When she crosses paths with Aidan, a powerful (and somewhat jaded) Vampire Lord who wants to modernize his kind, the tension between them sizzles. Their mutual attraction never feels forced; it’s a natural outcome of two people who keep saving each other’s skins, even while pretending they don’t care.

One of my favorite aspects of the book is the richly woven world—vampires, witches, humans, fae, and plenty of factions in between. Yes, it’s a lot to keep track of, but that complexity also means the stakes run high. Never Run From An Immortal manages to balance non-stop action with just enough personal moments to make you care deeply about who lives (and who might not). I found myself rooting hard for Rae and Aidan’s crew, especially Bae. His skill (a form of magic I’d love to have for myself) made him both fascinating and unexpectedly endearing. In fact, all the characters on Rae and Aidan’s side feel like real people with goals, flaws, and personalities you can latch onto—while the antagonists are so convincingly written, you’ll have no trouble despising them.

There’s also a steady undercurrent of mystery running through the book, with Rae harboring secrets that gradually bubble to the surface. The emotional payoff for these revelations is substantial, especially when it collides with a devastating loss that tests Rae’s limits in ways she never expected. By the time the final twist rolled around, I was practically begging for the next book, I'm dying not having another one to pick up. If you enjoy espionage, forbidden alliances, and a slow-burn romance crackling with danger, Never Run From An Immortal should go straight to the top of your reading list. Just don’t be surprised if you end up flipping pages well past midnight—and craving the next installment the moment you finish.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book! It kept me engaged from start to finish and hooked me quickly—as a sexy vampire story tends to do.

I liked both main characters, especially Rae. She’s thoughtful, creative, and multi-faceted, which made her a main character I’d happily follow through a series. I also found myself genuinely invested in her relationship with Aiden and rooting for their success.

That said, I did get a bit lost at times. There were quite a few names and minor characters that felt unnecessary, which made it hard to keep track of who was who and whether I was missing something important. There was also some jumping around between locations, scenes, and topics that pulled me out of the story occasionally.

Still, it was a fun read overall, and I’d definitely recommend it to fellow fans of sexy vampire books (like me!). I just wish it had gone through another round or two of editing to smooth out the rougher spots.

Overall, I really enjoyed reading this book, if you like a vampire romance then this is the book for you!

Plot:
The plot had dimensions which I enjoyed, between the love story, the friendships and the big bad guys. I found parts of the plot predictable but in an enjoyable way, whilst other plot points felt under developed.

Characters:
Rae is a badass, with attachment difficulties 😅 I really enjoyed her wit and humour. However, I would of liked more time spent with her changing perspectives to understand them a bit more.

Aidan: Sexy, sweet a bit too serious at times. But I love him.

Bae: the highlight of the book. No notes.
