Never Run From an Immortal is a thrilling urban fantasy where vampires, witches, fae, and humans teeter on the brink of war, navigating precarious alliances and deep-seated rivalries. With a slow-building but rewarding plot, electric banter, and a romance simmering with tension, this book delivers everything you want in an urban paranormal romantasy.
Rae Farren is a sharp-tongued, fiercely independent witch with too many secrets and a habit of running headfirst into trouble. She strikes a deal with Aidan Vale, a powerful, morally grey vampire lord with ambitions far beyond blood and power. Their partnership, forged through a marriage of convenience and reluctant alliances, evolves into a slow-burn romance filled with snarky banter, undeniable tension, and plenty of steam.
The layered world-building takes time to settle into but is rich with intrigue, introducing a complex vampire hierarchy, magic, and political factions. Vampires hold power in a world shaped by magical technology, where power struggles, secrets, and alliances fuel the tension. The urban setting, with its blend of magic and modernity, evokes a Crescent City vibe that fantasy readers will enjoy. Beneath the conflict lies a web of deception, secrets and hidden motivations, weaving a gripping narrative packed with intrigue.
Brimming with my favourite tropes; enemies to lovers, marriage of convenience, forced proximity, adorable animal companions, and found family they enhance the story without overdoing it. Their conflicting motivations, Rae’s instinct to run and Aidan’s pursuit of change, are layered with tension and vulnerability, brought to life through the dual POV. While some twists may be predictable, the fast-paced climax more than delivers, setting the stage for an even bigger conflict ahead.
If you love urban fantasy infused with danger, snarky dialogue, and a slow-burn romance that keeps you hooked this is a must-read. Fans of ACOTAR and Crescent City will love the intricate political drama, immersive world-building, and addictive tension woven throughout the story. It might take a few chapters to fully dive in, but once the tension sparks, it’s impossible to put down. It’s a great set up for the next book and I can't wait to see where Rae and Aidan’s journey takes them next!

This book had everything you could want in a romantasy: vampires, witches, fae, shifters, and morally grey characters. It features enemies-to-lovers tension, dual POV, and a marriage of convenience.
Despite all these lovable tropes, I did struggle with this book. The first 40% was confusing, with me trying to figure out who everyone was and the political intrigue between the vampires, witches, and other supernatural beings. However, it eventually clicked, and I enjoyed the rest of the book.
The book is very fast-paced and throws you straight into action on chapter one, but it does dip a little in the middle.
Overall, I enjoyed the ending and am left intrigued on where the story will go, as it does have the makings of a good romantasy series.
Thank you Netgalley & Victory Editing for an arc xx

Wow. This was such an incredible and intense story that you’re thrown into pretty abruptly! The world building is quite complex between the different species, their orders, and the politics between the species. This complexity, Although makes for an amazing story, also is what I struggled with the most to follow along. Each time I had to stop reading… coming back I was having to relearn the MANY side characters. I really enjoyed the story and the main characters l, Rae and Aidan. The banter was amazing and also really enjoyed the slow burn. There were some unexpected twists at the end that have me eager to see where this story goes. I did find some of the action scenes a little hard to follow - but again there were so many moving pieces with how many side characters and people were involved. The author did an excellent job of pacing the story and slowly revealing information that keeps you on the edge of your seat!

Thank you to NetGalley for providing an advance review copy!
Never Run from an Immortal hooked me from the very first page and didn't let go. It takes place in a modern world of vampires, witches, fae, and humans. Each faction has their own set of magic abilities and I found it really fun to learn about them as the story progressed. The FMC is a witch and the MMC is a vampire but they were both written in a way I haven't read before. There's a marriage of convenience, a bit of found family, and even some animal familiars. Overall, a really enjoyable read and I'm looking forward to more in this series.

This was a consuming read with an intricate world and hierarchies between the vampires, witches, and fae. Both of the main characters were dark and mysterious, and I was continually ensnared by their webs of deceit and mystery. Their bond was so dangerously addicting. The cliffhanger ending had me craving to find out what happens.
Thanks so much to NetGalley for the eARC! All thoughts are my own.

One thing Victoria J. Price consistently delivers? Jaw-dropping one-liners that instantly pull you in. That’s what first hooked me with her previous book series, and Never Run From an Immortal proves again that she knows exactly how to grab your attention—and never let go.
Take the opening scene:
“Rae was fucked. Three Vampires had just watched her swipe a wallet from one of their friends, and she had absolutely no intentions of becoming their blood bag tonight. Or any other night, for that matter.”
From that moment, you know you’re in for something sharp, dangerous, and addictively fast-paced. Price throws you straight into the grit of Demesia, a world teetering on the edge of chaos where humans, witches, vampires, and fae walk a razor-thin line between peace and war.
Rae Farren is everything I want in a heroine—sarcastic, stubborn, and too clever for her own good. She’s got secrets, bite, and a relentless will to survive. Aidan Vale, her reluctant vampire ally, is powerful, brooding, and quietly unraveling thanks to a stolen magic he must hide at all costs. Together, they’re explosive. The forced proximity and marriage of convenience tropes deliver all the tension, while their dynamic crackles with slow-burn chemistry and razor-sharp banter.
The world-building is rich and immersive, with detailed vampire orders, morally gray politics, and magic that feels both dangerous and grounded. And best of all? The plot never drags. Every chapter matters. Every decision raises the stakes.
If you’re into enemies to lovers, high-stakes urban fantasy, and characters who wear their trauma like armor, this book will leave you wrecked—in the best way. Think Crescent City meets The Bargainer, but grittier, faster, and laced with even more bite.
Unmissable, unrelenting, and utterly addicting.
This book reminded me exactly why I keep coming back to Victoria J. Price.

This book was so good. I was so intrigued by the storyline. I could not get enough of Rae. She is a woman who has been through so much but will never stop fighting. She had me laughing so much during this book. I loved the banter between her and Aidan. The way everything came together at the ending had me mind blown. Such an amazing book. I also really need Quinn and Ru in my life. Humans, Vampires, Witches, Fae this book has it all! Can't wait for the next book!

Rae is a mysteriously strong and morally grey FMC. Aidan is a broody, bastard Vampire Lord. On the brink of societal collapse, Rae claims to have a solution to Aidan's greatest problem and they strike a bargain. This urban fantasy romance follows the maybe not so accidental alliance between a Witch and a Vampire Lord.
I really appreciate that Rae is very true to her character throughout the entire book. She does not instantly fall in love and then suddenly become a different person. Her character development feels organic.
The pacing of the book was fast and it caused confusion at times. A lot of information is dumped on you at the very beginning. You are immediately thrown into the action.
You get marriage of convenience, enemies to lovers, and political intrigue in a world with humans, vampires, witches and fae. Overall, I think this book has set up the foundation for a solid romantasy series.

A World Teetering on the Edge
Set in an urban fantasy world brimming with fae, witches, vampires, and shifters, the story drops you straight into the tension without wasting time on heavy exposition. The first few chapters are dense with information as you learn the rules of this world and the systems that govern its magic and society, but Victoria J. Price makes it immersive rather than overwhelming. Once you find your footing, the plot unfolds with explosive immediacy.
What really impressed me was the structure of this world, especially the different orders of vampires, each with their own distinct traits and hierarchies. That kind of detail adds real richness to the setting and stakes.
Rae & Aidan: Tension You Can Taste
This book is told through dual POV (one of my favorite formats when done right), and both Rae and Aidan have strong, distinct voices. Rae is a witch with fire in her blood and iron in her spine. Aidan, a once-powerful vampire who’s lost his abilities, is equally compelling: guarded, brooding, and quietly unraveling.
Their dynamic? Pure gold. The banter crackles, the chemistry sizzles, and the forced proximity trope is used perfectly to build tension without rushing intimacy. It’s a true slow burn, and the payoff is worth every aching moment. What makes it work so well is that their relationship never takes over the plot—but rather runs alongside it, deepening the stakes and enriching their arcs.
Pacing and Style
Victoria J. Price has a writing style that’s sharp, immersive, and beautifully balanced. It’s descriptive without being flowery, fast-paced without skimming over important emotional beats. Every chapter feels like it matters. There’s political intrigue, danger, magical power struggles, and the constant threat of betrayal, all while Rae and Aidan fight battles both internal and external.

Final Thoughts
Never Run from an Immortal is a darkly compelling fantasy romance that excels in both world-building and character development. With high stakes, unforgettable chemistry, and a plot that twists and turns through war-torn politics and emotional depth, this is a standout addition to the genre.
If you’re a fan of From Blood and Ash, The Bridge Kingdom, or A Court of Thorns and Roses and crave something fresh but equally intense, Victoria J. Price’s latest will not disappoint. Just be warned: you’ll finish it desperate for the next book.

Never Run From An Immortal delivers a moody, magic-laced urban fantasy romance that blends danger, desire, and dark politics into an interesting narrative. Set in a world where fae, vampires, witches, and humans coexist in uneasy balance, this book has many elements that caught my attention and made me immediately start reading this.
The story follows Rae Farren, a sharp-tongued and cunning witch adept at hiding her true identity with a long list of secrets, who strikes a dangerous deal with Aidan Vale, a powerful vampire Lord grappling with the loss of part of his magic. Forced into a fake marriage for survival and strategy, their reluctant partnership quickly blurs the line between enemy, ally, and something more.
Price builds an original universe in the intricate setting of Demesia with unique vampire orders, magical systems, and political factions. It provides a compelling backdrop that enhances the narrative's depth. However, it can be very confusing for some readers as it was for me. The book introduces some original terms (like PADs and the various vampire factions) that took time to mentally organize. It’s rewarding once everything clicks, but it could be disorienting for readers. I spent the first portion of the book trying to understand and grasp all the details of this world the author built, it does has a glossary at the beginning, but I was still a bit confused for some time.
The main characters are really interesting to follow, Rae is such a badass and so is Aidan. Their banter is fire. Rae’s snarky resilience clashes perfectly with Aidan’s cold, measured intensity. But beneath the tension simmers real vulnerability — which makes their connection feel earned, not rushed. The slow-burn romance? Delicious. Fake marriage, forced proximity, mind-sharing, and enemies-to-lovers? Yes, yes, and yes. But Price executes them with emotional depth instead of relying on clichés. There’s also a perfect dash of moral grayness in both leads that kept me guessing.
Aidan’s arc, in particular, explores what happens when a leader is stripped of what once defined him. Rae’s journey is about reclaiming power on her own terms. Both stories intertwine beautifully as the stakes escalate. Themes like hidden identities, moral ambiguity, and the struggle for power are woven seamlessly into the plot, adding layers to the characters' journeys.
I also really enjoyed the side characters and I could connect with them, I wish it was on a deeper level but I still cared for them. I hope they can be even more developed in the next book.
Putting aside the confusing world-building which you get used to after some time and the characters' usage of recreational drugs which was quite often and I don't really like it much, but that's a me thing. I had some other problems with the book despite having enjoyed it as well. While the first and final thirds of the book are intense and fast-moving, the middle dips slightly. Certain scenes felt like they lingered just a bit too long without progressing the plot, I also felt some parts were a bit repetitive. Rae's persistent sarcasm, while initially endearing, occasionally overshadows deeper emotional development, making it challenging to fully connect with her character. Personally, I enjoyed her biting humor and refusal to back down. But some might find her sarcasm overbearing — especially early on, when her emotional walls are still sky-high. Despite my issues with it, I really enjoyed the book and I'm looking forward to the next one, especially after that ending.
Finally, Never Run From An Immortal offers a captivating blend of fantasy and romance, set against a backdrop of political intrigue and magical conflict. While certain aspects, like pacing and character depth, could be refined, the novel lays a promising foundation for the series. Fans of urban fantasy with complex world-building and nuanced relationships may find this an engaging read.

This was slow to start for me and for some reason I kept getting confused with all the different names. Buttt I ended up really loving this book! Loved the marriage of convenience and I love urban fantasy so that made it even better! Really looking forward to the next one after that cliffhanger!

ENEMIES TO LOVERS-VAMPS-WITCHES-FAE-ROMANTASY-MAGIC-ANGST
Literally LOVED this book. It has everything I look for when I’m pining for a good romantasy. I was hooked from the beginning. MMC is broody, possessive, definitely swoon worthy, and morally grey. Banter was great, spice was just right for a forced proximity slow burn. I will be very UN patiently waiting for the next installment of this series!!!

I LOVE a good enemies to reluctant allies to lovers storyline. I also appreciate good use of wit and banter. Our main characters were GREAT. Our fmc is strong and sarcastic, our mmc broody and protective. They're both morally grey and the chemistry between these two was POLARIZING. The tension was angsty and the spice was spicin. I haven't read much urban romantasy but I loved the authors descriptive writing and interesting world building. I very much enjoyed the plot but the characters themselves is where its at! This book is definitely for fans of Crescent City and Bride!

Never run from an immortal was a fast first book in a new romantasy series. In a world with vampires, humans, fae and witches (there might be more groups but those are the key players) there is a constant power struggle for power. In this book a faction has been kidnapping people from each group for a sinister purpose. Aidan, as a vampire lord and Rae, who has a friend who's been kidnapped decide to team to figure out and stop what's happening. Lots of action and very fast paced, my only real complaint about this book is that it wasn't a stand alone and therefore did not wrap up neatly.
Thank you to netgalley and the publishers for providing me with an arc for an honest review.

I will read anything Victoria J Price writes, I loved this take on vampires and fae; this complex vampire hierarchy and magic types was really fascinating. Rae was a great main character, flawed and torn between duty and friendship, always walking a very thin line between the two. The tension between Rae and Aidan is *chef's kiss*, and I want the next book as soon as physically possible, Such an easy read, I devoured this novel in less than a day—and even sleep deprived the next day, if she handed me another book I'd do it all over again.
Victoria J. Price is an auto-buy for this reader.

Is it possible to give this book a million stars? Because it deserves all the stars in the world. The world building was incredible. the readers are thrust into a magic world filled with vampires, humans, etc. This book takes you on a rollercoaster ride of events, with a bunch of twist and turns. Im so in love with this book. The plot, the world building, and the characters were all great. This is definitely a book that you should give a read. I cannot recommend this enough, definitely going on my Top 3 list for May

As someone who is obsessed with The Bargainer series, I honestly loved this book. We meet our FMC Rae Farren who's ferocious and blood thirsty -specifically for her enemies' blood. But in the world that Victoria Price created, Demesia, it's almost impossible to tell who's who anymore. Everything is grey and different depending on what side you are on. War is coming, and humans and supernatural creatures are on the brink of it. Rae's desperate to save as many innocent people as she can and decides to make a deal with the enemy, which she feels could probably gonna end badly, but what choice does she have when there is so much death that would be left to look toward to.Then we meet Aidan Vale, our MMC vampire who fought his way to the top, but he's got this secret - his magic's been stolen and he can't let anyone find out or they'll come for his throne. When Rae offers him a deal, Aidan agrees because Rae can either save him or damn him, but as the same with Rae- what other choice does he have?
They bicker like crazy, but Victoria does well switching this up to banter. To the point that our MC Aidan tells himself it's "keeping your enemies close." This novel has many secrets that slowly reveal themselves as the story goes on. My favorite trope, enemies-to-lover, is ever present between the witch who doesn't hold back and a vampire lord who is deadly. I think my favorite pieces were the forced proximity, convenient marriage, and characters who are definitely morally grey. YASSSSS! Genuinely, I couldn't put it down! The dual POV works so well. No boring world building, Price has us jumping right into the action. Her world is full of fae, humans, vampires, and witches all on the brink of war. The world is in survival mode and kept the same angst and theme which made this dark romance even better. READ THIS BOOK!

I really enjoyed this ARC, thank you NetGalley for the opportunity. I enjoyed the banter and relationship that built between the FMC and MMC. Both Rae and Aidan’s characters had good depth and past trauma that really helped build their characters. I enjoyed the writing style and the flow of the story. I enjoyed the fantasy aspect of the orders, the character abilities and magic system. I wanted more in the end. Looking forward to adding it to my shelf.

OMG this was EVERYTHING I wanted in a book!
Witches, Vampires, Fae, forced proximity, enemies to lovers and a mix of paranormal characters, this story had so much going for.
And the author did a fantastic job of bringing it all together into a brilliant, duel POV, action packed page turner. I could not put this down.
100% this is going to be one of my top reads of the year. Nothing about this book held back. Give me all the banter, romance, danger and twists.
Rae and Aidan were just such amazing characters on so many levels. I loved how cunning, clever and strong Rae was. But how she let herself be vulnerable at the same time around Aidan.
And Aidan definitely ranks up there as one of the best book boyfriends. The way he's tough and powerful yet connects with Rae was just a perfect mix.
And this review has to mention the demon dog. Like OMG I adored the parts with him and Baelin and Rae.
Be warned though, I broke my heart in places at the direction this story took, like utterly broken by the end!
I adored this authors other series, but honestly this book blew me away!
All the stars!

It's vampire season!
This was a slow start for me, since world building and characters didn't grab my attention for the first 10% of the book. But as I kept going back to it, the character development and mystery completely got me.
While the whole enemies to lovers didn't fit on this book at some point; that ending totally summarized what this trope is all about.
