Traveling around New Zealand in a book was fun, but overall this wasn't a great fit for me as a reader. As in on the whole, I thought this was fine, but it was too angsty for me, because I like all things fluffy. Aside from it just not being my sort of romance, I did feel like the mental health rep was a bit "love will save me", and I didn't think it was cute how when the hero calls the Maori heroine "exotic" she was basically like "lol that's not pc" but clearly thought it was fine. But aside from those things, I did think this would be a good read for people who enjoy angst and travel.

I've been a long time fan of Karine Halle and when I heard about this book I was so excited to read it and fall in love with these characters. But unfortunately that never happened for me. I found the romance to be very insta-lovey and I just did not connect with it at all. I also found the characters likable but not really memorable.
