This was a very good book. It was well-written. At times, it was hard to read, but the resolve of people was astonishing. It's amazing how people can survive.

This is an interesting insight to what happened during lockdown on the other side of the globe.

Whilst I don't necessarily 100% agree with the author on some points it provides an insight to how Australia dealt with the pandemic.

Lockdown Australia: Pandemic of Madness is an eye-opening, no-holds-barred look at the chaos that unfolded in Australia during COVID. Dave Ives doesn’t just recount events—he pulls you right into the heart of the madness, exposing the political power plays, fear-driven decisions, and the eerie way control was normalized. What I appreciated most was how raw and unfiltered this book felt—it’s not just a history lesson, it’s a wake-up call. Whether you lived through it or are just curious about how far things went, this is a gripping and important read.

[a copy of this book was provided to me by the publisher from netgalley. thank you!]

the book is fairly well written, but i do not agree with the content in the slightest. it was interesting to read something from someone with this mentality, however.

As a British born Australian who lived this craziness, I remember it well. Being ‘locked down in an area for 3 cases’ the insanity of it. This book is well written and doesn’t sugar coat truths.
My only criticism is the light grey font on a dark grey background. Made it difficult to read.

WELL. This book is like a front-row seat to the most bizarre dystopian thriller… except it actually happened! 😳 Lockdown Australia doesn’t sugarcoat a thing—Dave Ives lays it all out, from over-the-top restrictions to the political circus that made 2020 feel like a never-ending nightmare. If you’ve ever thought, “Nah, that couldn’t have happened,” guess what? It did. And it’s WILD. If you want a book that will make you shake your head, yell at the pages, and maybe question everything, this is it. Read it, remember it, and never let history repeat itself. 🇦🇺🚨📖
