This may be my favorite book in the series. Maddie is settling into married life and enjoying a weekend get away with her family when they witness a fatal accident. As the investigation progresses, Maddie can reflect on how much her life has changed and how much she has to fight for.

Another great read by Margaret Mizushima revolving around Deputy Mattie Walker and her K9 partner Robo! The characters are well developed, plot filled with suspense and mystery to keep you glued to the pages. Heart-rendering-true-to-life family issues to consider and address openly and honestly making the story line interesting and entertaining.

I have read all the Timber Creek K-9 mysteries that take place in the Colorado Rockies and they just keep getting better. Dying Cry is the best one yet! In fact, my household chores were put on hold during the couple of days I was reading this book!

The story opens at a fast pace with a gruesome death, which sets the stage for the murder investigation. This fast pace continues throughout the investigation as Mattie, Robo, Stella, the sheriff and the deputies follow every lead. Just when I thought I had it figured out, the author threw in a twist that I didn’t see coming!

A major component, of all the Timber Creek K-9 books, is the interaction between Mattie and, her dog, Robo. I find it fascinating to learn about the challenges involved with being a K-9 handler, the techniques used and understanding what a privilege it would be. If you love dogs, suspense, a Colorado setting and interesting characters; don’t miss this series! And, if you haven’t read the first nine books, I highly recommend starting at the beginning with Killing Trail to get the full benefit of the author's character development and the growing relationships.

I was obsessed with this book. Thank you for letting me read in advance. Dying Cry really captured me from the first chapter, which is a must for books I read.
