I really enjoyed this book. It was not what I expected as I love the Will Trent series so this was very different than that. The story was face paced and its like two books in one, starting at one point and ending at a later point way in the future.

This book was another hit from the author. There was a good mixture of mystery and suspense which kept the reader interested. A few twists towards the end added to the enjoyment of the book. This is a book which I would recommend to all who enjoy a good mystery.

Welcome to North Falls—a town that seems quiet on the surface, until it isn’t. This story draws you in with a familiar small-town charm and quickly twists it into something much darker. The mystery surrounding the two missing girls is gripping, with just enough misdirection and unease to keep the pages turning. Officer Emmy Clifton’s personal stake adds emotional depth, though at times her decisions feel frustratingly human. The pacing builds steadily, with a few surprises that land well and others that feel deliberately vague. Overall, a suspenseful read that lingers, hinting that even the most ordinary places can hide extraordinary darkness.

This is the second book I have read by this author, and she is quickly becoming a favorite of mine. This story was full of suspense and drama and it kept me up reading at all hours of the night. I didn't see either of the two twists that came at the end. I look forward to whatever the sequel in this storyline holds.

Thank you so much to Karin Slaughter, William Morrow, and NetGalley for the ARC of We Are All Guilty Here. Whenever I'm given the chance to read Karin Slaughter, I jump at the opportunity. Although I have enjoyed some of her work more than others, I know I can expect a book with phenomenal characters as well as a dark and chilling twist.

When I saw that Slaughter was starting a new series with Officer Emily Clifton, I was excited! This book follows officer Clifton as she searches for two missing girls from a small town while sorting through her own trauma. This book shows you how far people will go to protect their secrets. There are a lot of dark and disturbing themes in this book, as there are in most of her books.

This book was not an easy read, it was one I needed to put down a few times to process. Still, this book was great! 4/5 stars!

You had me at Karin Slaughter! Having read/listened to every book she has written I was excited to dive into this one! New series, new protagonist, more suspense and intrigue. Twists and turns.Totally here for it!

Karin Slaughter does not hold back. She rips your heart out, has you on the edge of your seat, yelling at the characters and up reading into the wee hours because you just have to know what happens next!

The main protagonist, Emmy, has some maturing to do. She is impulsive when it’s time to slow down and be thorough before taking action. This aspect was a bit irritating, but I came to like the character overall. She comes from a family of law enforcement.

When she puts off the teenage daughter of her best friend and she disappears along with another teenage girl, Emmy is wracked with guilt. This fuels her impulsivity and urgency to find the girls. The deeper she investigates, more secrets are revealed that lead the reader this way and that as we try to figure out who took them and why.

A well written, must read! I look forward to more in this new series.

Thank you to NetGalley and Harper Collin’s for the arc. I leave my review voluntarily.

Wow! Karin Slaughter Never disappoints! In her latest thriller, We Are All Guilty Here, Slaughter combines aspects of a psychological thriller, police procedural, and multi-generational family dynamics set in a small town in rural Georgia to come up with an instant best seller. I could Not put this book down once I started it, even after a major plot twist happened about a third of the way through the book that I never expected.

I loved the way that Slaughter took a strong female lead in Officer Emmy Clifton and set her as the protagonist and dips her in antagonist clothing for a good portion of the book, as seen from her small town’s eyes. Her plight was not an easy one, not even for one minute of this harrowing tale. I loved how she never gives up on finding the lost teenagers entrusted in her and her father’s, the Sheriff’s, care to locate when they are reported missing.

It appears as though everyone is investigated, and just when one thinks that the truth is found, it becomes clear that everything is only Nearly uncovered.

Seriously, you need to pick up a copy of this book. It’s truly unforgettable and will make you feel like you’re the newest, invested citizen of North Falls, GA. …and just when you think that it’s over, you are forced to think again!

Thank you so much to NetGalley and William Morrow for this outstanding ARC!!!

I received an ARC of We Are All Guilty Here through Netgalley in exchange for my honest review.

This was the first book by Karin Slaughter that I have read. Overall, I enjoyed her writing style and felt like the story was fairly easy to follow along. I did think there were a few too many characters, however, especially in the Clifton family and I felt like some of them could have been left out of the story.

There was a chunk of the book that was pretty boring for me and I felt like "I am just ready for this story to be done already." It was pretty slow, in my opinion, from about 60%-85% of the e-book. At about the 85% mark it did start picking up though and it held my attention until the end.

I did notice that this is #1 in the series. I will be anxiously waiting for the next book to come out as I am curious to see how the story progresses!

We Are All Guilty Here is the first book in Karin Slaughter's new North Falls series. I was excited to get to read an early copy of this because I have enjoyed the standalones I have read from her.

This story follows an investigation after two teenage girls go missing. Emmy Clifton and her father are in charge of this case and soon learn that the girls had a lot of secrets. It seems some people of the town have some dark secrets as well. I don't want to give anything away as the twists and reveals in this book are what made it so good for me. The commentary on how men and parents see teenage girls and more of the psychology behind what can happen to them was great. I liked how they went into the profile of who could have commited the crimes and how they picked the girls.

I don't always enjoy books told in the cop's perspective but this one really held my interest. I enjoyed reading the town and family dynamic of Emmy Clifton. I loved reading about Emmy and her fathers relationship and how he helped her become the type of investigator she is. The book also explored the history of the family and why they are the way they are. The extended family members added a little humor to an otherwise dark book.

Thank you to NetGalley for an ARC of this book.

Emmy Clifton is a deputy sheriff in North Falls, Georgia. On the 4th of July two teenage girls go missing and Emmy blames herself for their disappearance. Years later the man who was convicted of the abductions is released from prison and soon another teenage girl disappears under similar circumstances.

This book does have some VERY dark topics at times, including child abuse/torture, pedophilia and sexual assault. It is an intense and suspenseful read that keeps the reader guessing.

The twists in the book kept me up reading until almost 4am!! This was my first Karin Slaughter book, but it will definitely not be my last.

This was an Advanced Review Copy from NetGalley and Harper Collins

This was a great story. At the first pivot point (you know it when you read it), I wasn't sure I was totally in, but I kept going. So glad I did. This was the first kind of whodunnit that I didn't guess and was actually quite surprised by a few things along the ride. I actually haven't read much by this author so I'm not sure if this is par for her course, but I'm going to find out. Read this one!

Love love love! Another fantastic book from the amazing Karin Slaughter. We Are All Guilty Here follows Emmy, a small town officer with roots that run deep in the community as she looks for two missing teenagers- she puts a man away for the crime, and when he’s released 12 years later, another girl goes missing in the same way. This one will keep you on the edge of your seat- I stayed up way too late because I just HAD to finish it. The characters are well written- and the first chapter leaves you screaming at the detectives all the way through. I was emotionally invested and the ending was well done. 4.5 stars!

I loved this book. The characters were well developed and I grew very attached to them. I did end up figuring out who the initial killer was relatively early but was completely surprised by the twist. I look forward to more books in the series and can't wait to see how the relationships of the main characters further develops. I did take a bit for me to really get hooked on the book, but I devoured the second half.

This was my first Karin Slaughter book and I was lucky to get an ARC via NetGalley and Penguin! Thank you so much!

I want to start off by saying “wow!” This book was full of amazing character development and detailed scenes. I love the small town storyline of everyone knowing everyone. There is a strong lead female character (which I love).

Karin Slaughter wows with topics that a lot of authors don’t write about. Such great writing, I kept telling myself “one more chapter” before bed.

I can’t wait for what’s next in this new series!

4.25 - It started off kinda slow, but the twist about 60% in I didn't see coming. After that, I got invested on the plot and details. Triggers of child abuse & death so be warned.

Thanks to Netgalley for a chance to read an ARC copy.

Well well well. I just finished reading the newest book by Karin Slaughter and needed a moment to think and digest what I just read.

We start off with a kidnapping, or two, in a small town. At first thought I presumed it would follow the same format as other books that start out this way but I was wrong and glad about it! The book is split into two parts and the first part was AMAZING. Five stars I was pulled in and had to know what happened! Then we jump to years later and deja vu hits. What.is.happening!?! Another missing girl and now was our initial presumption right or wrong? I’ll just say this…the twists keeps coming.

Emmy, her parents, Cole and Jude, her best friend Hannah and the missing girls. The characters and their relationships and how connected you feel are what best about the story.

4 stars--I really liked it.

Wow, there are enough twists here to give you whiplash! This story rarely rests--it's constantly going in new directions, and all the characters are keeping secrets. It has the usual Slaughter darkness (squeamish readers beware) and the usual Slaughter likable characters.

I received this review copy from the publisher on NetGalley. Thanks for the opportunity to read and review; I appreciate it!

This book was hard for me to put down from the very first page. The story is told in 2 timelines, one when two girls go missing and 12 years later when another goes missing. Emmy Clifton is a sheriff’s deputy and puts her heart and soul into finding the girls. She is almost obsessive about finding the girls and does an excellent job of following the clues to a suspect. All the details and characters are detailed vividly and I almost felt like I was living it out with these characters. It has an ending I definitely did not see coming! This is the first book in a new series about North Falls and I will be anxiously waiting for the next book. If you like a good mystery/thriller I’m sure you will like this book. I received a copy of this book free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
