I will read anything Karin Slaughter puts out and I was lucky enough to read this one early.
I truly love the unexpected surprises that she always puts in her books and this one was just full of surprises!
Two girls go missing on July 4th weekend, a father/daughter cop duo is there to investigate and find the girls. They find the attacker, send him to prison and move on….or so they think. When the attacker gets let out of prison and another girl goes missing, what are the conclusions other than of course he had something to do with it….but are you sure? This had everything from a long line of family drama, to twisted secrets from everyone in the town, or hell even out of town. It was just a fun ride and who doesn’t love being able to figure out the killer and stuff before the end of the book….but when you think you have it and then a new set of crazy things happen or you realize wait it can’t be them and then you are hit with who it is and you are like omg that makes sense, that’s always so fun! Every character in this book had their own personality that added to the story, usually a lot of different characters takes away from the story, at least for me, but even though you had so many different moving parts, this still kept my attention all the way through and never faltered. The amount of times I was gasping and was like ohhh I didn’t see that coming. Everyone should read this.

I am a longtime reader and fan of Karin Slaughter’s books. Her newest, WE ARE ALL GUILTY HERE, is excellent with a sweeping tale of a family deconstructed, a small town filled with tightly knit inhabitants, and a cast of characters that are impossible to forget. Slaughter carefully builds a world with secrets upon secrets and then lets the characters loose to move through the plot. And oh what a plot! There are many layers to each storyline and the revealing details arrive late in the book, allowing the tension to build. This is a book best read without a lot of plot details available ahead of time. Readers will want to discover the story as the author intended: at a pace that moves forward deliberately and relentlessly. This is Slaughter at her best. I received my copy from the publisher through NetGalley.

I guess I am old news when reading my feedback about Karin Slaughter. I have and never will leave her bad feedback, she is smart, funny, scary and suspenseful beyond words. I can't wait every time she has a new book to get my hands on it. This is what's funny, each review I always say she has outdone herself with this book! Ha! I gotta say it again! This is her best book! I loved it so much! How can she be so smart and keep a person hanging on the edge always to make you go all the way through the book and wonder each time what is the mystery or man in this case. I didn't come close to guessing the answer before the end. It was electric to me. She had me crying and laughing all the time. If I went one way then she went the other. Sure I live in the same state she does and have read all her books but still it's crazy how good she is. The story is about a serial killer who preys on young girls and yet it's also about family with the ups and downs they have. I hate to tell everything about a book because it is so much better to read yourself and be amazed by it. Trust me you will love it. How I wish they were even longer. I seriously think I should start over with her 1st book again. Maybe it will be brand new to me! Thank you Netgallery for letting me read another bestseller. You make my life so happy.

This was my first Karin Slaughter book. I’ve had some of them on my TBR for a while but haven’t been in the mood. So glad I read this one!

This was a long read but totally worth it! It was tense and emotional. I stayed up late a few nights not wanting to put this down! I loved the attention to detail and how in depth everything was. I really enjoyed how because of the dual timelines we got to see how everyone changed. We get to see how they could’ve handled the previous case differently and what was missed the first time around.

I will definitely be reading more of her books! I think this is great for anyone who loves a good thriller. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the chance to read this early!

Karin Slaughter’s We Are All Guilty Here kicks off her brand-new North Falls series with a gripping dual-timeline thriller. The story begins with a haunting tragedy—two high school girls kidnapped and murdered in a tight-knit town. Over a decade later, Emmy Clifton, now acting Chief of Police, is pulled back into the chilling echoes of the past when another teen girl goes missing in eerily similar circumstances. What follows is a tense, emotional unraveling of long-buried secrets, small-town loyalties, and a past that refuses to stay buried.

As a huge Karin Slaughter fan, I truly believe she can do no wrong—and this newest series proves it. While I definitely miss Will Trent (always), I’m already obsessed with North Falls and fully committed to Emmy Clifton’s story. Emmy felt a bit too emotionally reactive in the first half, but considering her youth and deep personal connection to the case, it felt real—and her character growth by the end is massive. I’m hooked, not just on her, but on her whole complicated family dynamic.

I partially guessed the ending, but in classic Slaughter fashion, that didn’t stop me from staying up way too late turning pages. At nearly 500 pages, it’s a long read—but totally worth it. The atmosphere, pacing, and emotional stakes are all there, setting the stage for what I know will be a phenomenal series. Trigger warnings apply, of course—it’s not as graphic as Pretty Girls, but definitely more intense than The Good Daughter.

North Falls is officially an auto-read for me. Can’t wait for the next one.

It's the 4th of July in the small Georgia town of North Falls when two girls disappear. For Emmy the vanishing is personal, one of the girls is her best friend's stepdaughter who tried, and failed, to get Emmy's attention that night. Now she has a case to solve.

Wow! What a ride! Slaughter's world building of North Falls as a typical small town is flawless, with everyone aware of everyone else's business and reigned by the Clifton dynasty. The characters are so well written (with special bonus points to the constantly feuding, record keeping Clifton's) I loved the tit-for-tat interactions of the family, be it from the "poor Cliftons" or the "rich Cliftons".

Told in two different timelines we learn about all of the the town's residents and their lives. I did manage to guess one of the twists, but it did nothing to detract from this absolutely captivating whodunnit. Great for anyone who loves a good thriller. Adding Karin Slaughter to my auto buy authors immediately. 4.5 stars for this twisty, thoroughly engaging ride.

I received this advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This is such a great mystery thriller. If you’re a fan of serial killers you will enjoy this very much.
Two 15 year old girls go missing on the 4th of July sending the town in complete havoc.
The first part of the story focuses on finding the killer or killers and puts them in jail.
12 years later, the accused killer is released and a young girl goes missing 3 days later.
The twists upon twists made it even better. I escaped into the lives of the main characters.
It’s so well written and enjoyable. This book left me wanting more of everything.

Thanks netgalley & publisher for the ARC!!

I am really hoping this book is made into a series or something cause it would be so good. I really enjoyed this book. I like how it started out with the one case first and actually went into detail, rather than just mention what happened in 2 sentences then go forward in time. I really like this authors writing style!

I completely devoured this book within 24 hours. I am a fan of Karin Slaughter and this one did not disappoint! I don't like to try and figure out the mystery before the ending so it was a surprise when everything came together.
Two fifteen year old girls are abducted in North Falls, GA and Emmy Clifton is a police officer who is trying to solve the case. We then go forward in time 12 years after when another child is abducted.
I enjoyed how in depth we get in Emmy's thinking, the case, and the overall personal ties she has with the town and everyone in it. I feel like I could drive to North Falls and know everyone and every building there! I loved the twist at the end and how well the story is tied up. Thank you NetGalley and HarperCollins for the ARC!

Karin Slaughter strikes again with this unputdownable thriller. I was hooked from the beginning. It's been a while sine a book had me staying up all night to finish, and that is exactly what We Are All Guilty Here did. Masterpiece. Thank you Netgalley for the arc!! 4.5 stars!!

Karin Sluaghter is one of my favorite dark thriller reads. I have greatly enjoyed every book that I have read and this one is no different.

As expected this setting is also the Georgia area and we start out with the disappearance of two teenage girls. Where we have Police Officer Emmy Clifton investigating. But this story seems to end before it starts until 30 years later when the convicted killer is realized due to new evidence. then less than 48 hours after his release another young girl goes missing. Is this the work of the same killer that they just freed or were they wrong the whole time?

This was a very well written story and I really enjoyed the passage of time so we could see how certain characters matured and come out of their situations from the beginning.

Thank you to NetGalley and Harper Collins UK, Harper Fiction for my e-copy in exchange for an honest review.

Karin Slaughter delivers another powerhouse thriller with We Are All Guilty Here, a tightly wound, emotionally intense novel that masterfully blends psychological suspense with razor-sharp social commentary. Set against the backdrop of a small town simmering with secrets, the story follows a tangled web of guilt, loyalty, and the desperate need for redemption.

Slaughter’s writing is as gritty and propulsive as ever. Her characters are deeply flawed but utterly compelling—especially the protagonist, whose past mistakes come crashing into the present with devastating consequences. The plot unfolds with precision, building tension slowly before slamming the reader with twists that feel both shocking and earned.

What elevates this book is Slaughter’s ability to weave in nuanced themes—justice, complicity, and the burden of truth—without slowing down the narrative. The moral gray areas she explores linger long after the final page, making this more than just a page-turner; it’s a novel that asks hard questions about who we protect and why.

If there’s a minor fault, it’s that a few subplots could have used a bit more room to breathe. But even so, the emotional payoff is substantial.

Dark, smart, and unflinchingly honest, We Are All Guilty Here is one of Slaughter’s best—an unmissable read for fans of psychological thrillers with real depth.

I'm always excited for a new Karin Slaughter book and this one did not disappoint. In addition to the main mystery of the missing girls, there was plenty of family intrigue in this novel including the sudden death of the patriarch and a sister who rose from the dead. Slaughter is very adept at reeling the reader in and taking us on a journey with many twists and turns. I suspect I'll be in the minority, but I didn't see the final surprise coming and it was something. I am sure this book will be flying off the shelves and deservedly so.

Two friends vanish. Are they dead or alive?? Another thrilling read from a well loved author. Very engaging. The story is well written. The pacing was off for me a few times but still enjoyed the story.

Another tour de force from the grand mistress of high (grisly) crime and family drama. Every single time Karin Slaughter somehow finds a way to balance truly gnarly murder with beautiful depictions of human frailty, family strife and ultimately reconciliation. I have no idea how one writer manages to make me want to vomit and then cry and then laugh and then vomit again.

Slaughter has told another gripping story of murder and loss against a back drop of family secrets and hidden pain in the south. This time an untested young sheriff finds herself investigating a case that mirrors another she closed with her father years earlier. Did they get it wrong the first time? Can she avoid the same mistakes this time? Then her estranged sister, a psychologist recently retired from the FBI surfaces ostensibly to lend a hand but clearly with an ulterior motive. If they can't bury the hatchet and work together there will be another death.

This was totally engrossing and gross and every Karin Slaughter fan will be thrilled.
