I enjoyed this more than I expected, and actually did not quite guess the ending ahead of time! Good amount of suspense and twists.

My Daughter Is Missing by JD Kirk and narrated by Cathleen McCarron was a excellent psychological thriller from start to finish, especially as it had me hooked from the first chapter and I wanted to find out what happened to the main character Elizabeth's daughter, who went missing after a school costume party and why Elizabeth is hiding lots of secrets from people.
The narrator Cathleen McCarron was excellent and I loved the way she told this story, she made it hard for me to stop listening to it. It was a superb audiobook and I highly recommend it.
Big Thank You to NetGalley and Bookouture Audio for my ARC.

4.5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
✨ almost there but not quite for a 5.
Physiological thriller, suspense and drama.
The narrator on this one is perfect for the plot.
A mothers loves who will do anything to find her daughter but can’t tell the police for help!?
What could go worst!
It was a lovely read, fast paced but some other words on this book has a repeating sentence.
I thought that the narration has doubled the lines but I keep re checking just to make sure.
Anyway, it’s doesn’t affect the whole plot of this book.
It was gripping, intense and the ending is not predictable.
Thankyou for the opportunity to read this arc for a honest review .

I liked the author’s style of writing (descriptions, turn of phrases) but I wasn’t captivated by the storyline. I persevered to the end but the story struggled to hold my attention. It seemed to drag on.
The narration of the audiobook is well paced but I didn’t like how the voice portrayals were done
2.5 / 5 rounded down
Thank You to NetGalley and Bookouture Audio for the opportunity to listen to the audiobook version of this ARC.

Elizabeth's daughter is missing after a school costume party. The catch? She can't report it to the police just yet because of the secrets she hides. Just when you think you've figured it out, another character is introduced as Elizabeth's past unfolds. Definitely a must listen with a great twist.

I quite liked the audio version as the narration added an extra element to the story and I got very invested, although I had already read the book. It worked really well.

3.5 stars, rounded up
I listened to the audiobook and really enjoyed it! The narrator was great: not too over-the-top with expressions but also not monotone.
The story itself was really intriguing. It kept me interested, and the suspense built nicely. I also thought the writing was beautiful in the flow and descriptive imagery. The author's words and language helped to really immerse me in the storytelling. I did find the ending to be a bit unsatisfactory, but I still enjoyed the story. This was my first read by this author, and it will not be my last!

I enjoyed this book. I listened to the audiobook. This book definitely hooked me from the beginning. I will say midway it dragged a little. Overall it was a good read. I give it 3.75 ⭐️

Audiobook Review: My Daughter Is Missing by JD Kirk
I received this audiobook through NetGalley, and I truly appreciate the opportunity to discover new authors and share my thoughts.
This was my first JD Kirk book, and wow—what a wild ride! My Daughter Is Missing is a gripping thriller about a mother whose daughter goes missing and the relentless lengths she’ll go to in order to find her. The suspense builds with every chapter, and the twists and turns kept me guessing the entire time. Just when you think you know what’s going on... you don’t!
The narrator did a great job bringing the story to life. I really enjoyed the accent and the way their tone added an extra layer of tension and urgency to the plot—it made the whole experience even more immersive.
And JD Kirk... why did the FMC have to be named Elizabeth and be part of the PTA?! That hit a little too close to home for me, as I am Elizabeth and currently a PTA president! I couldn’t help but laugh at the coincidence—it made the story even more memorable.
Thank you again to NetGalley for the opportunity to listen to and review this audiobook. I’ll definitely be checking out more from JD Kirk!

Enjoyed the book. It wasn’t a favorite but had its good parts. I found some parts to be very unlikely, like nobody at the school calling the cops as soon as the mom says her daughter is missing.

I love books about missing children, so was excited when I saw JD Kirk was releasing one. I've read a few of his DCI Logan books, but I don't find myself too enthralled with police procedurals lately, so couldn't wait to try this psychological thriller about a trope I enjoy.
I listened to the audiobook, narrated bu Cathleen McCarron, who I hadn't tried before. She was excellent and really encompassed the drama and emotion of the story.
The pacing started with a bang, and though it waned a little in the middle, I really enjoyed the ending.

This psychological thriller was over the top twisted and too predictable to the very end for me. As someone who works in a school, the liklihood for any of this to really happen was way far fetched. I'm not one for gore or cruelty to children, so maybe I'm biased but Sasha was too much for me. The narrator was amazing though. She did a great job for the story she was given.

Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture Audio for allowing me to read this for free in exchange for an honest review.
I liked this book and the premise. It kept me guessing and interested from page to page. However, I found it incredibly predictable. The main character was almost insufferable and for that reason I really struggled to connect with the story and stay engaged. The road to finding her daughter was a long one with lots of twists and turns. The ending just doesn't sit well with me either. It was predicatable and then for me had an unrealistic ending. Overall, it was solid read and well written, just was not for me.

3.5 stars!
I figured out what was going on right before the big reveal at the end of the book. However, it was creepy! It almost reminded me of what you might watch on an episode of the x-files back in the day.
Easy read and nice quick thriller if you enjoy these type of books.
Pace of the plot was good.
Characters were mysterious!
I still feel bad for that janitor at the school - if you read it, you'll understand!
Thank you to NetGalley for this book for a review!

JD Kirk’s My Daughter is Missing is a tightly woven psychological thriller that grips from the very first page and doesn’t let go. What begins as a heartbreaking story about a missing girl quickly spirals into something far more complex and sinister, with twists that keep the reader constantly off balance.
Kirk masterfully builds suspense throughout, layering the plot with revelations that are both shocking and deeply satisfying. The pacing is impeccable—each chapter intensifies the tension, and the emotional stakes are high, pulling the reader in deeper as the truth slowly unravels. Just when you think you have it figured out, the story takes a turn you never saw coming.
Dark, twisted, and utterly compelling, My Daughter is Missing is a standout thriller that will leave readers stunned—and unable to put it down. Kirk proves once again that he’s a master of suspense and emotional storytelling.

JD Kirk's My Daughter Is Missing is a quick, unputdownable book, where a mother’s worst nightmare becomes a reality. She begins to spiral into a web of secrets and lies as her daughter vanishes during a school party. She refuses to allow the school authorities to call the police which raises suspicions.
Tense, fast-paced, and packed with surprises, the story keeps you guessing who to trust. I wanted to choke the main character most times and felt frustrated with her thinking, but the suspense more than makes up for it.
Rating: 4/5 – Dark, twisty, and hard to put down.
