I started reading this right after the actual Kentucky Derby so I was eager to keep the Derby weekend excitement going; however, I was severely disappointed. It definitely gave strong Kentucky Derby vibes with mentions of Churchill Downs, iconic fashion statements, and mint juleps. What I DIDN'T get from the story, is a good plot.

This story followed 2 couples, Drew and Nate and Leslie and Graham. The weekend was a surprise gift to Drew from her husband to celebrate a milestone birthday. What Drew doesn't know, is that her husband has a gambling addiction and is trying to redeem himself by betting on the winning horse. Leslie and Graham join them in hopes of rekindling the lost spark in their marriage. Tension is high, and it's not due to the race. This story was full of secrets, infidelity, and addiction.

Cute book not really my cup of tea but nevertheless it was written well. Good story and characters. Easy read.

Loved this audiobook. Really great listen. I always love a book that involves horses too. Good narration.

Women’s fiction readers, watch out for Betting on Good by Wendy Francis. This was a great listen and it’s available now.
