This is a book whose message creeps into your soul without you realising it. Today, I felt tired and emotional: last week was hard. So perhaps I was ready to be reminded and open to the message that life with Christ is pretty much the oppposite of what Western civilisation currently wants. Modern life says seek comfort; God says seek Him even if it's uncomfortable. Modern life says be tribal and judgemental ; God says he will bless the 'tax collectors and sinners' sitting next to you. Somehow, I needed to hear this. A superb book with a gentle push to do what brings life - the opposite of the world's message.
