The Highlander’s Fallen Angel picks up, at the wedding of Sara and Rory (of the Highlander’s Wild Flame). Sara’s brother, Kane, gets drugged by a feisty lass and taken to her clan as a Savior. The whole story was funny and cute, because Tierney (the feisty lass) keeps thinking of new plans to safe her clan and her daughter.
And although she is tough and resourceful, Heather doesn’t shy away from the terrible things women had to endure, in terms of abuse and not having rights.
In all, a great read and I do hope that aunt Morag will make another appearance in the next parts of the Brotherhood of Solway Moss series. Four out of five stars from me and a special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc.

This historical romance was one of the most action-packed I have ever read! I enjoyed the history sprinkled in the story. I also enjoyed the epigraphs. They added extra flair to the reading process. I don’t think I’ve ever been so stressed and worried on behalf of fictional characters while reading a historical romance before! Everything worked out, but I was really put through the wringer there. I was a big fan of all of Tierney’s outrageous plans. Her take no smack attitude was my favorite. I loved Kenan’s support of her and meeting her where she was with her trauma. They took such good care of each other even while navigating the difficult politics of the clans. I highly recommend reading this book if you’re looking for a historical romance with an adventurous storyline and a plethora of loveable characters!

I adored Kenan and Tierney's story! I loved that Tierney would do anything to save her clan even if it meant having an angry man on her hands. I just loved these two together!

I loved this book! If you've watched the show The Last Kingdom, it gives that kind of vibe, but with more romance. You get a strong FMC and a grumpy MMC who ends up being a softy for the FMC, 4.5 stars!

The Highlander’s Fallen Angel by Heather McCollum
The Brotherhood of Solway Moss #2
What would YOU do to save yourself from a second abusive husband, keep your daughter safe, and prevent your clan from being taken over by the brutish man who intends to claim you? Tierney has a plan that is a bit unorthodox and hopes this plan won’t fail. Excellent addition to the series!
What I Liked:
* Tierney MacNicol: daughter of a laird, mother of Maggie, widow of abusive husband, bartered by her father, survivor, strong, strategic thinker, protective, spontaneous, vowed to never marry again
* Kenan Macdonald: Laird of his clan, castle burned and in need of repair, one of four men who made an alliance in prison, strong, kind, caring, lethal, follows his heart, attracted to Tierney
* The meet-cute that ties into the Fallen Angel title
* The ease of falling back into the story
* The way the four men who made the alliance stand with one another even when things don’t go as one or more might have thought they would
* The way women were strong and assertive and often able to save the day
* Morag: considered a with and murderer by some, in tune with earth, crows, ancient religion and deities, unorthodox, able to cause a scene, admirable, a crone worthy of being emulated
* The animals that were part of the story: crows, horses, dogs, and a salamander
* Some of the supporting characters – would like to know what happens to Jacob, Maggie, Cora, Gabriel, and a few others
* Being able to dislike the villains and wish for their demise
* Being thankful that Kenan did NOT end up with Grace but now wonder who she will end up with
* All of it except…
What I didn’t like:
* Who and what I was meant not to like
* That women were considered chattel to be sold off for alliances between clans – they had no rights
* Thinking about how difficult living must have been in this time period
Did I like this book? Yes
Would I read more in the series? Yes
Thank you to NetGalley and Entangled Publishing-Amara for the ARC – this is my honest review.

Kenan Macdonald barely survived being a captive of the English after a battle where the Scots vastly outnumbered the English was lost because the clans couldn't work together. Back on the Isle of Skye, he's determined to band together to strengthen Scotland. But not only does he have to fight the hate and prejudice most clans have against each other, he soon finds himself kidnapped by a desperate Tierney MacNicol in a desperate plan to save her clan. Tierney only wanted Kenan to pretend to marry her so she could get out of a wedding contract her dad signed against her will, but her last-ditch plan has widespread consequences that could start a war on Skye with dire consequences for all.
McCollum is the queen of Highland romances, and she proves it once again with this book. We get the mandatory warrior and his feisty female counterpart in a story that has it all. The romance is at the forefront with Kenan and Tierney having amazing chemistry from the get-go, plus there's lots of action, politicking, and, best of all, humor. There isn't a page that doesn't have something interesting happening on it, which makes for a truly exciting read.
Also, the fact that there's always that cooky aunt that lives by herself, who no one is entirely sure isn't a real witch, and who takes the most drastic actions in the story is one of my favorite things about McCollum's books. Aunt Morag is quite possibly the best one yet, and I loved every single scene she was in.
I will say that there were a couple of things that were set up and didn't lead to much or were resolved a little too quickly for my taste, but it doesn't take away from how good I found the story overall so I'm ignoring it.
Delighted thanks to Entangled: Amara for the action-packed romance read!

This is book 2 in the Brotherhood of Solway Moss series. The book starts with how the 4 leaders of different clans meet how they decide to unite the Isle of Sky and bring about peace.
One way to do this is thru marriage. While negotiating a marriage contract with his fiend Cyrus, Kenan is drugged and taken prisoner by a lass who needs his help Tierney.
She needs him to pose as her husband to help save her clan and her daughter.
Tierney is fierce, determined, independent and stubborn. She won't stop until she gets what she wants. She's also weary and careful due to an abusive marriage.
Kenan is kind hearted and wants to help Tierney but he's as good as betrothed. If he breaks that agreement, it could start a war.
To find the solution to this leads to a lot of adventures., misunderstandings and to a true partnership.
I loved the story, the characters and the hope held out for the life one can have even after being abused. It takes time but one can heal.

I want to thank Netgalley for the opportunity to review this book

A Fallen Angel. How appropriate for a title. Such a heartwarming story that is so full of sadness and hope. Yes Tierney is desperate and should be. Kenan is hard to break but slowly he breaks. The writing is so so creative. Tierney comes up with absolute insane ideas to convince Kenan to help her and her castle and village. And who knew there was that type of innovation during that time period. You never know what may drop from the sky. I’m not going to give it away as it’s a crucial part of the story. Never was there 2 more stubborn people but Tierney must save her family. Her cohort is hilarious and would we great for a story of her own with another hero. Definitely the best of the 2 books and one of Heather’s best written books to date and I’ve read them all. Highly recommend. 5 star rating.

This historical romance is part of a series that revolves around four highlanders that made a pledge to work for peace while they were imprisoned. I personally think they are better read in order, but you could read each one on its own.
Our brave heroine has suffered terrible trauma, but came through it stronger and more determined than ever. She will not be stopped from protecting her immediate family and her Clan.
Our hero's plans, both personal and for his Clan are about to be thrown into extreme chaos.
I couldn't help but giggle at the frustration he must have felt. A great adventure with lots of danger and fantastic characters.
I loved it.

This captivating Highland romance is full of heart, action, and heat. I loved Tierney MacNicol; she’s bold, clever, and desperate to protect her clan and daughter from a cruel forced marriage. Her plan to kidnap Kenan Macdonald, a brooding Highland chief, is reckless but compelling. Kenan’s gruff exterior hides a fiercely loyal heart, and their chemistry is immediate and intense. I appreciated how their relationship balanced passion with genuine emotional connection and political partnership. The side characters, especially Aunt Morag, added humor and charm. While the romance moved quickly, it felt earned and deeply rooted in trust and mutual respect. This book had it all: danger, drama, swoon-worthy moments, and I can't wait for the next in the series.

The Highlander’s Fallen Angel – Review
Step back in time to 16th-century Scotland with The Highlander’s Fallen Angel, the second captivating installment in Heather McCollum’s Brotherhood of Solway Moss series.
McCollum’s storytelling is pure magic—rich with historical detail, sweeping Highland landscapes, and of course, the swoon-worthy spice that brings the romance to life. Her ability to weave authentic historical elements with unforgettable characters makes each book feel like a portal to another time.
While this book can be read as a standalone, I highly recommend starting from the beginning to fully appreciate the depth of the characters and their evolving world.
In this story, our hero, Kenan, is on a mission to unite the Scottish Isles against the looming threat of England. He’s strong and courageous, but what truly makes him stand out are the softer qualities he’s afraid to show—his compassion, gentleness, and emotional depth. These traits make Kenan a compelling, multidimensional leader.
Tierney, our fierce and fearless heroine, is clever, cunning, and not afraid to take risks. Hardened by a painful past, she’s learned to rely on no one but herself. Her fierce loyalty to her people drives her to act—but her plans often go awry in the most entertaining and heart-tugging ways.
I truly appreciated the care and sensitivity McCollum brought to Tierney’s backstory. The darker moments are written with emotional honesty and respect, highlighting the resilience Tierney must summon in a world that has not been kind to her. Her journey toward trust and healing is powerful and deeply moving.
This book has it all—action, suspense, drama, spice 🌶🌶🔥, humor, and heart. I was completely swept away and can’t wait to see what McCollum has in store for the next chapter in this beautifully written Highland romance series.
Thank you @entangledpublishing and @NetGalley for this ARC to read and review.

Thrilling, intricate tale of love told with steam, humor and more
As the second book in this series about The Brotherhood of Solway Moss, Ms. McCollum has done a good job of giving just enough detail from the first book to aid the reader in understanding this one. The premise was what intrigued me: four men meet and endure torture and more under the hands of the English, abandoned by their clans, all of which forced them to work together for the first time ever. United the clans might have a chance under the tyranny of the English.
Three months after escaping the English and returning home from that trial, Kenan Macdonald encounters his next big challenge, the angel-looking, devil-behaving snippet of a woman: Tierney MacNicol from Scorrybreac. Her backstory is tragic and unfortunately, still timely. This book was written so well that I “felt” Tierney’s pain and in other circumstances, I felt like I was in the room watching what transpired. Together Kenan and Tierney are stronger but tell that to Grace Mackinnon who thinks Kenan is her betrothed! And then there are the Mathesons, one of whom expects to marry Tierney. Very intricate tale and multi-faceted story which I highly recommend to readers who enjoy big burly Scots hopelessly falling for his woman. I volunteered to review an ARC of this book through Entangled and NetGalley.

Kenan thinks that an angel tried to steal his flying machine, but it was not. It is a strong willed woman who will have him doing her bidding as they say. But he is as strong willed as she so they will butt heads. Other members of the clans of Skye come looking for Kenan. Love the story and the continuation of the series.
Received an ARC from NetGalley and the Publisher and leaving a review by my own choice.

When it comes to Scottish stories, this author is top knotch!! Each story is filled with all the passions of the people themselves, exceptional characters, historical depth and so much more. I look every day for a new book from her and am so excited when one is produced. This story isn't any different and if you haven't read her work, I'd highly recommend doing so. The strength of the men will have you signing and swooning. The ladies will show you just what it took to survive with devotion, determination, intelligence and so much more. Amazing, awesome, outstanding, more....

While this is book 2 in the series, I believe it can be read as a standalone without missing critical information from book 1.
The FMC is feisty, has trust issues, and schemes like a mad woman. I love her. She goes through a journey of healing from some pretty severe past abuse and trauma (alluded to and/or lightly described for context- not graphic)
The MMC is a protective cinnamon roll, extremely considerate, and....nice (iykyk).
Aunt Morag stole the show though! She was an absolute, witchy, delight!
I liked the storyline well enough but it's nothing super captivating. However, I did like the connection/mentions of Da Vinci and the epigraphs. Although there was one outlier that caught my eye- instead of a quote from a notable source (author, philosopher, etc), it was some information from a website. It was just strange to see the internet referenced in a historical Scottish highlander novel.
Overall, this was a decent read with enjoyable characters.
Thank you to Entangled Publishing and NetGalley for the gifted e-arc! All opinions are my own.

Fantastic second entry in this series! It had me laughing from start to finish, and I absolutely loved Tierney and her many plans. The spice was on point, and Kenan is just the right amount of green flags. Honestly, this one is worth reading for the side character of Morag and her crows alone. Loving this series, can't wait for the next one!

This book was not like my typical reads but it had some very fun plot points! The female characters are all written as strong, gutsy women who don’t need a man to swoop in and save them and Aunt Morag (along with her crows) deserves her own book. The flying machine and Tierney’s harebrained plans round this book out nicely. If you like cozy romances with spice and a fair dash of angst, I’d highly recommend checking this book out!

Heather McCollum’s The Highlander’s Fallen Angel is an absolute masterpiece that had me hooked from the very first page. This page-turning romantic drama effortlessly weaves together passion, intrigue, and the deep-rooted bonds of clan and family loyalty.
The plot is brilliantly crafted, filled with unexpected twists and emotional depth that kept me eagerly flipping pages late into the night. McCollum’s rich storytelling transports readers straight into the breathtaking Scottish Highlands, painting vivid scenes that feel both authentic and enchantingly atmospheric.
The characters are compelling, with the romantic tension between the protagonists sizzling off the pages. Their chemistry is undeniable, and their personal struggles are heartfelt, making their journey both relatable and inspiring. The emphasis on clan dynamics and family loyalty adds an additional layer of depth, providing a well-rounded narrative that is both thrilling and emotionally resonant.
In essence, The Highlander’s Fallen Angel is a gripping tale of love, honor, and resilience. It’s the perfect read for anyone enchanted by historical romance with a strong sense of place and beautifully developed characters. Highly recommend!

This was a really fun highlander romance. I really enjoyed the characters and I loved the plot. It had toe curling romance, some suspense and a great HEA. THE HIGHLANDER’S FALLEN ANGEL is the second book in the Brotherhood of Solway Moss series but you don’t have to read them in order. I’m going to go back and read the first book because I enjoyed this one. I’m adding Heather McCollum to my favorite historical romance writers list. Sometimes I just like a really good historical romance to curl up with and she delivered.

A story by Heather McCollum is always a treat! I absolutely loved this second book in the Brotherhood of Solway Moss series, Tierney & Kenan's story is one that had me saying..."THIS is why I adore Highland romances!!! When the heroine of the story is strong, courageous and brave and the hero is just as strong, courageous and brave, then you know it's going to be a story worth reading.
