I am always down for a Highlander romance and The Highlander's Fallen Angel did not disappoint. There was a good mix of action, romance, and spicy action and I would definitely recommend for anyone who likes Historical Fiction Romance.

I love a nice and steamy highlander historical romance and Heather McCollum writes some of the best!
This is the second book in the Brotherhood of Solway Moss series and I enjoyed it as much as the first. The setup for the series is that four sons of different clans are imprisoned by the nasty English. They escape and declare a brotherhood oath between them. This book centers around Brotherhood member Kenan Macdonald’s story.
Tierney MacNicol is trying to escape her wedding to a brute who wants to take over her clan. Kenan wants to unite the Scottish Isles against the dreaded English. Tierney sees Kenan as the answer to her dilemma and proceeds to drug him in hopes of convincing him to save her clan. What could go wrong? I was thoroughly entertained reading about this couple finally finding their HEA.
I liked the setting, the steamy scenes, and the strong heroine who takes charge of her own fate. This book can be read as a standalone, but I think works better if you read the first book in the series.

Full transparency, this is not a book I would have otherwise picked out for myself. I did enjoy the story, the historical ties, and the characters because it all tied together very well.
I think the author is very talented & has a knack for witting romance in this era!
Thanks to entangled publishing for the ARC of this book and NetGalley as well!

I really wanted to get into this one, but it was too close to a historical ficton vs a fantasy or romance based story. The was so much fighting, and sooooo many people to keep track of. Maybe I just wasnt in the right headspace for a read like this. If you love highland romance, and read more histroical fiction this may be the book for you! 3 stars, as it wasnt for me, but I think someone else may really enjoy it!

Who doesn’t love a good Scottish Highlander Romance! I had not read book one but felt right at home without feeling like I was missing key details of the story and background. The book is a fast read with a good story line. Tierney is in a pickle. So, she seeks to take matters into her own hands to protect her family and people. Kenan after some imprisonment and convincing, decides to help. What starts out as hope of protection and safety, turns into passion and love. Good mix of action and romance. Adding book one to my TBR! Many Thanks to Entangled, Heather McCollum and NetGalley for the ARC which I voluntarily read. These opinions are my own.

Such a legendary love story!
Whew! What a ride! First we have a nail-biting prologue that kept me on the edge of my seat. Then we meet our main characters, Kenan and Tierney, who don't have a single easy day on the way to their HEA, and I loved every bit of their story! It starts with a desperate Tierney doing everything she can to keep her freedom and protect what's left of her family, even if that means kidnapping a neighboring clan leader and forcing him to fight for her.
Kenan has only been home for a very short time after being held by the English, so he's in no mood to tolerate being held captive again. But, as he gets Tierney to open up, he begins to understand what she's up against and he wants to figure out a way to help her, but maybe not the way she wants.
This romance was as wild and free as the Scottish Highlands, filled with political intrigue, secrets and surprises, and villains who are well deserving of their eventual reward. The relationship between Kenan and Tierney bloomed softly, slowly, but with plenty of steam once it took off. I love the emphasis on family and community, and I adored all the well-developed characters.
This is the second book in the series, taking place immediately following the events of the first, but as these are interconnected standalones you don't have to have read the earlier book to enjoy this one. However, if you enjoy 16th century Highlander romances, this series is exactly what you're looking for. This author is consistently at the top of my favorites list and I couldn't recommend this book more.

This book was just not for me. There were way too many characters to keep track of and it felt more like a historical fiction book about the Isle of Skye than a romance book. Tierney MacNicol drugs and chains Kenan Macdonald up to force him to help her get out of an arranged marriage and save her village. The book devolves into fighting between Kenan and other chiefs. There was very little chemistry between Kenan and Tierney. McCollum tried to make the jump from enemies to lovers, but it just didn't work. I did not read the first book in the series, and I felt like I missed some of the backstory for Kenan and his family. Also, Tierney has a child that is used as a prop to get the plot to move forward. There are also random quotations at the beginning of each chapter that are so out of time and place.
Spice rating: 2 out of 5🔥

I enjoyed this book! This was the first Highlander book I read and lots of dialect. I loved the patience and kindness the lead male character had. I also loved all the character interactions and support from the others. Overall, an enjoyable read

Book: The Highlander’s Fallen Angel
Author: Heather McCollum
Series: Brotherhood of Solway Moss, Book 2
Publisher: Entangled

This is the second book in this series Brotherhood of Solway Moss which is another phenomenal read. This is the second installment…
Isle of Skye, Scotland, 1544
Tierney MacNicol of Scorrybreac, is the female main character (FMC) who feels she is between a rock and a hard place. She has been in one abusive marriage and is headed down that road once again to another unwanted forced marriage. She will do anything to protect her daughter and clan so she is not forced into another nightmare marriage once again!
In this book Chief Kenan MacDonald is the male main character who has only been out of captivity for a few months (MMC) when his life is changed by force once again. He is taken away from his clan, drugged and abducted. How will he be able to escape to be able to protect his people? His family and clan must be besides themselves when they discover he is missing!
On top of this there is another woman who believes she is Keenan’s betrothed. Plus the Mathson clan who believe Kenan feels used and abused. Tierney MacNicol treated Kenan badly, humiliating him but a lot had to do with her past. The more you read about Tierney and all her trauma the more I understand her desperation in her bad decisions and mistakes. Shall Tierney ever be able to trust a man and discover all men are not the same? Will Kenan ever be able to understand, open his heart and forgive Tierney for hurting him from her past mistakes? Read and discover their fate.
I have been reading Heather McCollum books for over a decade and her books always draw me into her Scottish historical world of yesterday. I love the mention of Leonardo da Vinci’s flying machine. If you ever see the film “Everafter” based on the Cinderella fairytale with Drew Barrymore and Angelica Huston there is a scene with him and his flying machine too. I love when iconic real people are mentioned in historical fiction books! Another book I absolutely loved and I look forward to the next book in this riveting series. A book I highly recommend.

*The Highlander's Fallen Angel* is a swoon-worthy, action-packed Highlander romance that had me hooked from the very first page! Heather McCollum delivers a delicious mix of danger, heart, and heat with Tierney and Kenan’s fiery chemistry. Tierney is the perfect blend of fierce and vulnerable, and Kenan? Total Highland dreamboat with a heart of gold. Their banter is sharp, the stakes are high, and the slow-burn seduction is *chef’s kiss*. I was cheering, sighing, and fanning myself in equal measure. This book is pure historical romance magic—bold heroines, brave warriors, and passion that scorches like the Scottish sun!

The Highlander’s Fallen Angel is the second book in a new series by Heather McCollum, Brotherhood of Solway Moss. This is a historical spicy romance based in the Scottish Highlands.
The first book sets up the series. Four Highlander’s from warring clans are imprisoned by the English army. Left there by each of their families in exchange for their father or another sibling. As prison life gets more desolate, the four Highlander’s swear a blood oath to each other in exchange for working together to escape prison.
This is Kenan McDonald’s story. Kenan finds himself imprisoned again after trusting a young maiden after his sisters wedding. Drugged and chained to find that she is desperately seeking a way out of an arranged marriage her father set up to benefit her clan.
Tierney McNichol is the daughter of a Chief gone missing at sea. With only one way to escape the betrothal she was forced in, she captures Kenan McDonald in hopes of convincing him to marry her. A marriage of convenience is better than a marriage fraught with cruelty.
As Kenan and Tierney work together to find a way to bring the clans together and put a stop to her marriage contract, they have an undeniable connection to each other.
This is a steamy highland romance with historical storylines. I always enjoy Heather’s books and this is no different. This is a 4 star read for me.

This second book in the Beorherhood of Solway Moss series is a captivating and beautifully written 16th-century Scotish historical romance. It has wonderful characters with a strong, passionate chemistry, a vivid detailed Scottish backdrop, and a fantastic story with clever twists that kept me very entertained. I highly recommend reading!

I really enjoyed seeing Kenan'S story, even when I am not Tierney is biggest fan.
Their meet cute was very entertaining and the fact she manager to abduct him is hilarious, but she makes a lot of questionable decisions. Kenan on the other hand is too forgiving - to not say kind. He is perfect, understanding and really in love with tier.
For the plot I was a bit disappointed with the story with the bod guy's brother. Why would someone kidnap a bunch of people just because your little brother said he was scorned by A girl? OK, maybe he really believed in the story of the betrothal, but I think it's easy to confirm...
I was hoping for more of a fake dating kind of plot, but that one lasted 2 seconds. :C

You can never go wrong with Heather's books. They are descriptive, intriguing, and emotional. The protagonists just complement each other so well. Like book 1, this book had a really well written hero Kenan and heroine Tierney. Both of them are protective of everyone around them, both of them have undergone a lot of stress in the past, and they both are strong enough to come through together and build a future they desire.
This was a great book Grade A+

Three months after escaping an English prison, Kenan Macdonald’s been taken captive again. Only this time, it's crafty Tierney MacNicol who lays him low with a sleeping draught in order to get him alone and convince Kenan to help save her clan.
This is the second book in the Brothers of Solway Moss series, which follows lairds imprisoned together who made a pact to unite their clans on Skye against England and other invaders.
This is another solid Scottish historical from McCollum. I loved that Tierney was a strong character with a plan b, or c or d... Sacrificed once for a clan alliance, she refuses to do it again when the man is a known brute who wants to take over her land by force. She needs the appearance of a marriage to another laird in order to void the contract...by Kenan has his own clan to protect and isn't initally interested in helping Tierney. Of course, his defenses come down and his protective side puffs up. Eventually, they work together. While I felt like this book could be read alone, there were a lot of characters to keep track of on the back third of the story. Perhaps some of the characters would have been more familiar if I had read the previous book first.
Tropes: Scottish Romance, Widow, Kidnapped, Enemies to Lovers, Protector

GIRLS....just read it. GUYS...take notes. Heather McCollum is a masterful author who knows what us romance readers WANT. This book was killing it from start to finish especially because I had read the prev book but I was completely intrigued by this woman pulling the wool over this man's eyes and tricks him! Of course we all know the cover has this hottie on it, but he is even hotter in the reading. I loved the HEA at the end of this book, her writing is definitely something that is all around feel-good no matter what in the books that I have read from her. Best part is that because we know of the characters' heritage, we can definitely imagine those accents while reading! LOVE LOVE LOVE! Do not waste your time thinking about reading it, just DO it.

I loved this story so much! You can’t help but fall in love with the four men who survived it all to make a change. You will love meeting a brave woman named Tierney. She has been through so much and is still standing strong. She is determined to make some changes of her own and the first step is plan number one, taking down a highlander. Will she succeed in her plan or will she have to move to plan two or three? This story was very touching and you will be cheering along with all of the strong women in this story!

The Highlander’s Fallen Angel is the second title in the Brotherhood of Solway Moss series, and Kenan and Tierney will provide us with a fiery romance that may start out far differently than it ends.
Anything you’d need to know before picking up this story can be found in the Cover Description Blurb; what you won’t find there is the passion both Kenan and Tierney feel for their causes, let alone the steamy and volatile relationship they will develop over time.
The Highlander’s Fallen Angel is well-written, intriguing, and full of history. This couple’s banter, growing affection, and situations easily captured my attention. I enjoyed stepping into this world again and would not hesitate to recommend their story to any reader who enjoys history, highlanders, and a story that will capture your heart as two very stubborn people work their way to a happy ending.
*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley, and I sincerely thank the author or publishing house for their trust. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*

Heather McCollum does it again! I am loving this series that brings both the historical romance and the dramatics of Scottish men. I really liked how this book started exactly where the last one left off. Also, I particularly liked the motivations of the heroine in this book, as it felt like she had more to lose than the main male character. The one confusing piece was where the "brains" behind the evil plan came from? Then I remembered that in the first book there was a set of twins (?) but I do not remember if they were actual siblings or just pretended to be. I did remember they betrayed the heroes in the first book, so in the second they set about forcing an unwanted marriage to the main female character. Thankfully, our main male character steps in, falls in love, and saves their chiefdoms. Overall, I am enjoying this series and I hope I get to read the rest of them.

I love a good Highland romance novel and Heather McCollum delivers on all levels. Wonderful characters, a rich and detailed world, and a riveting story that pulled me in from the beginning to the very last page. The Highlander's Fallen Angel is the 2nd book in McCollum's Brotherhood of Solway Moss series, but it was easy to follow as a standalone book. That being said, I still plan to purchase the first book of the series, The Highlander's Wild Flame.
I enjoyed the banter between the main characters, Laird Kenan Macdonald & Tierney MacNichol. I loved the chemistry between them as well. McCollum's writing was excellent in fully fleshing out Kenan & Tierney to be realistic, not flat characters on a page. Kenan was strong and just, wanting to unite the Isles of Sky with the three men he had shared a cell with after the doomed battle of Solway Moss. The four of them have sworn that they will work together to unite the clans on the Isles to live in strength and peace. Yet he was also compassionate and gentle-hearted, torn between his desire to help Tierney and the MacNichol clan and his nearly formalized betrothal to the sister of his sworn brother Cyrus MacKinnon. Tierney was clever and determined, dealing with the emotional scars of her dismissive father and abusive former husband, she's a widow and a mother who will try everything to protect her daughter and her clan from the violent brother of the Matheson laird. Ranulf Matheson is cut from the same cloth as Tierney's former husband, she refuses to suffer that abuse again or subject her daughter or any MacNichol to Ranulf's cruelty. Kenan does not want the Mathesons to gain a foothold on the Isles of Sky so he agrees to help, while working together they fall more and more deeply for each other. It leaves Kenan in a quandary, will he follow his heart and marry Tierney, which could possibly destroy his relationship with Cyrus MacKinnon? The betrothal was not signed, but Cyrus' father hates the Macdonalds and wants any reason to destroy them. Or will Kenan deny his feelings and choose duty by marrying Grace MacKinnon?
The Highlander's Fallen Angel is a fascinating story with many twists and turns. I enjoyed it from beginning to end and am looking forward to reading the stories for the rest of the men in the brotherhood. My highlight of the book was Aunt Morag. She was absolutely brilliant and I hope I'll see her again.
Thank you NetGalley & Heather McCollum for providing me with this ARC for my review. I enjoyed the book so much I'm adding the author to my follow list on Amazon, Bookbub & Goodreads.
