Book two of the series “Brothers of Solway Moss”.
Interesting storyline of four men from different clans that bonded while being harshly imprisoned.
Once escaping from prison, they return to lead their lives and supporting each other in their quest for peace and success.
Kenan is attending a wedding when Tierney steals his custom built glider and sails from the cliff into the ocean.
He first has to rescue Tierney and then his glider..
Their tumultuous romance begins.
Action packed and a definite must read.

Holy cow - when I first started this book, I thought what in the world is going on? Between Tierney and Kenan, the conflicting problems were a bit maddening.
The theme of this book is sometimes it truly is difficult to know the right thing to do. Kenan faced that problem head on - having to make up his mind within minutes with ever-changing responsibilities. Good thing he's a big softie inside, otherwise Tierney would have really been screwed.
Tierney's journey, growth, and healing was beautiful to read. She had to overcome a lot.
Both characters were a bit frustrating, but again they're doing the best they can with what's available to them even if it's unconventional. There was a lot of scheming going on, it sometimes was difficult to keep track of all the shenanigans.
Overall, I feel so bad for Scotsmen (though they kind of did it to themselves with all the in-fighting). So many lives lost! I found the dynamic between the two main characters entertaining and plausible enough.

I loved Tierney and her quest to save her clan at all costs and in her plans, Kenan was to be that savior. The story shows how they came to trust each other even when things did not always go as planned. It’s a well written story that is full of action, with danger lurking around every corner. I love the addition of children in stories and Maggie was an exceptional five year old. It’s a story that pulled me in at the beginning and held my attention until the very end. I was not always sure of what was going to happen next and that made me want to keep reading. Their story is worth reading.

Widow Tierney MacNicol’s father betrothed her to Ranulf Matheson, and now that her father has gone missing, her cousin Asher MacNicol has left and her clan has been decimated by war and sickness, Ranulf is insisting that she marry him, but lucky for Tierney there was a clause in the betrothal contract stating that the contract would be void if Tierney marries another clan chief. To save herself and her daughter from another brutal man, Tierney needs Kenan Macdonald, and desperate times call for desperate measures! During the wedding for Kenan’s sister Sara and Rory MacLeod, Tierney steals Kenan’s flying machine and crashes it into the ocean, which leads to Kenan saving her and ultimately leads to her taking him captive. She needs to convince Kenan to return with her to Scorrybreac and pretend to be her husband. But nothing could have prepared her for Kenan Macdonald…
Kenan Macdonald has the weight of the world on his shoulders, he was held prisoner for 18 months by King Henry after the Battle of Solway Moss and returned home only to lose his father, be betrayed by his own brother, watch his castle burn and now have his flying machine stolen – again! All Kenan wants is a united Scotland and the bonds he made in prison with his fellow captives are a good start to that, in fact he is on the brink of making an alliance with the powerful Mackinnon clan by marrying Cyrus Mackinnon’s sister Grace. Things are finally looking up, until Tierney MacNicol crashes into his life – literally. She threatens everything he has been working for and her interference could drag his clan into a war, but there is something about her that intrigues him and question everything he has planned.
I am not sure how I feel about this story – I loved Kenan and Tierney, but I didn’t really care for the inequality of the characters. Both Kenan and Tierney have suffered at the hands of others and have been subjected to life-altering horrors that reforged both of them. Overall, this was an interesting story with a strong heroine, a hero who really is a hero, a lot of action, emotion, heartache, betrayal, warm love scenes, wonderful secondary characters, evil villains, redemption and finally a HEA. The problem I had with this story is that while their experiences have changed them both, the reader is still urged to believe that Tierney’s needs and wants are more important than Kenan’s – I just don’t care for stories where one character surrenders their desires to make the other character happy rather than coming to a mutual compromise. This is the second book in the series and could be read as a standalone title, but I would recommend reading the series in order for the best reader experience.
3.5 stars, rounded up

I love a strong FMC and Tierney was that in spades! I loved her analytical mind with her plans and alternate plans. Her strong sense of self and expectations was refreshing. Here was a FMC who didn’t need a man to save her! Kenan was a wonderful compliment as a patient and completely understanding love interest. I think my biggest set back for this story was the heavy focus on the clan rivalries. But this is a historical Scottish clan story so to be expected. I just felt bogged down with the clan politics.

Consistently, Heather McCollum has set the bar for me with Highland Romance. Her series are all interconnected but can be a standalone read. Her characters and storylines are well thought out, not completely predictable, the spice is the perfect amount of heat, and the endings are always satisfying.
So, it comes as no surprise that I thoroughly enjoyed The Highlander's Fallen Angel. It offered a heroine, Tierney, who was strong and approached challenges head-on. Kenan is an MMC that is both vulnerable and strong; an appreciated change of pace from the standard "I am man, hear me roar" that we often get in this genre. Together, Tierney and Kenan have a steamy and bingeable love story that is perfect for an evening curled up in your favorite reading corner.
I am eagerly looking forward to Heather's next book!

Kidnapping a Highlander to save your clan? Bold. Falling for him in the process? Inevitable.
The Highlander’s Fallen Angel by Heather McCollum is everything I want in a historical romance: high-stakes passion, fierce heroines, brooding warriors, and just enough chaos to keep the pages flying.
Tierney MacNicol is the kind of heroine I live for—clever, defiant, and willing to risk everything (including her reputation) to protect the people she loves. Trapped between a brutal marriage contract and the crumbling future of her clan, she takes matters into her own hands: drug the intimidating Highland chief Kenan Macdonald, drag him back to her home, and convince him to marry her. Casual.
Kenan, fresh off an English prison break and so done with being captured, is more than just a brawny warrior—he’s layered, loyal, and unexpectedly tender. Watching this gruff Highlander slowly unravel in the presence of Tierney’s fire and vulnerability? Utterly swoon-worthy. He’s everything a romance reader wants: strength without cruelty, desire without domination, and respect that feels earned.
The chemistry between them sizzles with slow-burn tension, banter, and so many moments where they almost give in—and when they do, it’s deeply satisfying. But beyond the spice, this story packs real emotional weight. Tierney carries trauma from a past she’s fighting hard to rewrite, and Kenan’s the first person who truly sees her. Not as a pawn, or a burden—but as a partner.
Set against a vividly drawn Scottish backdrop, this book delivers on political intrigue, clever twists, and a cast of unforgettable side characters (special shoutout to Morag—absolute scene stealer). It's part of the Brotherhood of Solway Moss series, but reads beautifully as a standalone.
If you're craving a story where trust is earned, strength is shared, and love comes wrapped in both battle scars and stolen kisses—The Highlander’s Fallen Angel will sweep you off your feet (preferably onto a glider with a Scottish man at your side).
Thank you Heather McCollum and Entangled Publishing for the eARC!

It just wasn’t for me.
I was drawn to The Highlander’s Fallen Angel by its intriguing premise and the promise of a compelling Highland romance. However, the story didn’t resonate with me as I’d hoped. The characters lacked depth, making it challenging to form a connection or invest in their journey. The plot felt predictable, and the pacing was uneven, which made it difficult to stay engaged. While the setting had potential, it wasn’t vividly brought to life, leaving me wanting more in terms of atmosphere and immersion. I understand that many readers enjoy McCollum’s work, but this particular installment didn’t capture my interest.

This starts with four men is prison from different clans. The only way to survive is to work together to escape. Once they do, the agree to try and unite their clans. This is Kenan's story and he is giving serious consideration to getting betrothed to Grace, who is Cyrus's sister. Then he gets kidnapped by Tierney who is desperate to find a way to save herself and her clan from the betrothal her father signed before he disappeared. Kenan is not amused at any of this especially after Tierney is the one who crashed his glider the day before. Grudgingly, he agrees to go to her home and see if he can help. Tierney is on plan 2 at this time as she is a planner who makes multiple ones as they don't always go well. Once at her home, Kenan quickly finds himself immersed in some of her plans as she has intrigued him. Things get dangerous quickly and they know they need his friends and family help to save her parents who have been kidnapped. Kenan is wise enough to know that they plans he and his friends make are probably not going to be followed by the women, who along with his Aunt Morag insisted on coming along. What follows is danger, action, adventure, family, and love. There is a lot to this story about a strong willed lass and the highlander who was confident enough to love her. Highly recommend.

Fantastic story.
To save her clan Tierney MacNicol is willing to do anything, anything but marry Ranulf Matheson. To stop that happening she needs Kenan Macdonald to make the proposed marriage null and void and act as a deterrent to Ranulf taking over the clan. Unfortunately she has no time to plead her case and instead undertakes a risky plan to get Keenan to Scorrybreac. A headstrong woman and a clear-headed man join forces to save Scorrybreac, risking war with neighbouring clans but with an eye to forming peaceful alliances. Loved it as much as the first book, cannot wait for the next.

Handfasting, Kidnapping, Clans, Family
This shocking story starts out with the conclusion of Kenan's sister's wonderful wedding.
Just when you think you are going to read about a happy clan situation all heck breaks loose, and Kenan troubles have only just started.
His flying machine is now crumbling into the sea along with a beautiful lass with golden hair and he needs to rescue her right now!
This story only gets more intense as the two strangers meet and Tierney needs to initiate her first plan right now! If plan #1 doesn't work, she has more to try 2, 3, or 4.
This story only gets more involved as we learn about Tiers plans to save her clan and she can't do it without the big brave clan chief Kenan.
Attraction is certainly present and plays a big role in the rest of this nerve-wracking exciting story that is filled with humorous banter, wildly laughable bedroom scenes that are like riding a wave to oblivion. I suggest you have your fan ready.
This is a big intense emotional story that is more than just a simple love story.
✔Mature Advisory: 3//5

The Highlander's Fallen Angel by Heather McCollum
Book 2 of the Brotherhood of Solway Moss series
Thank you to Entangled Publishing and NetGalley for entrusting me with this early copy.
Historical romance
Dual POV, she k!dn@ps him, enemies to lovers, feminine rage, clever FMC with schemes, cinnamon roll MMC who doesn't like to be called nice, both have traumatic backstories, politics
Tierney is desperate to convince Kenan to help her and her people. But just how far will she go? When her initial plan fails, her backup plan is to take Kenan and chain him up until he agrees to pretend to wed her to protect her from yet another abus!ve marriage. Kenan, besides being angry she was able to manage her plan, is unofficially betrothed to his friend's sister to continue furthering their alliance and plans to unite the highlands. This marriage would also prevent that calm from attacking his while they are still rebuilding from a fire. What will happen to that alliance if a breath of this fake marriage gets back to them?
This book had me starting out laughing with Tierney's plan and poor Kenan's stumbling into it. With Tierney's past, this book was a love letter to finding hope in relationships when @buse has been the norm before. Kenan was patient and steadfast and while he tried to stifle Tier helping to keep her out of danger, he quickly learned and accepted (grudgingly) that Tier will not be sidelined. Also, I loved Aunt Morag! She is a gem. This was an enjoyable book and had several reveals and perilous situations along the way that definitely kept things moving and interesting.

I very recently read a contemporary romance that was set on the island of Skye so it was so fun to get to revisit this setting in an entirely new way! I loved this cast of characters and the found family aspect of this story. Tierney is a strong, independent FMC who is bound and determined to save herself and her people. Shes not a damsel in distress but she does need a little help, and that’s where Kenan comes in. I love how we see Tierney confront her trauma and learn to trust through out this story. The plot and the warring clans provided a lot of intrigue. And Tierney’s many plans provided humor. Overall, a very entertaining and enjoyable historical romance!

I’m always a sucker for Heather McCollum book. The characters and stories are always great. And like usual I really enjoyed this book. I will definitely be continuing on with the series.
Thank you to Netgalley, Heather McCollum and entangled publishing for this ARC

I haven’t read a historical romance book in a really long time. My first international trip was to Scotland so I was intrigued with the highlands being the setting!! There was action, tension, romance, and some strong characters.
This is book 2 in a series of standalone historical romance books and it wasn’t necessary to read the first but I might just anyways. Loved the characters, the setting and the romance!
Thank you to Entangled Publishing and NetGalley for the gifted e-arc.

Swooning in the Highlands: Kenan, Tierney, and All My Feelings 💚🔥
From the first page, The Highlander’s Angel pulled me in—and I didn’t want it to end. I kept stopping just to savor it longer. This book reminded me why I fell in love with historical romances in the first place. There’s just nothing like a Highlander in love. 💚
Tierney is everything. I love how single-minded and tenacious she is—drugging a full-grown man and practically kidnapping him? Iconic. She’s also brave and not afraid to be vulnerable, which made me love her even more. She’s clearly been burned before by marriage, and I was dying to know what happened to her in the past. 🔥
Kenan is chef’s kiss. I’m pretty sure he falls first, and I savored every single moment of it. He’s so kindhearted (the way he calls Maggie his daughter nearly broke me), and those swoony compliments? Dead. Even after being tricked, his protectiveness over Tierney never wavers. And the fact that he’s willing to break his alliance for her? I MELTED. Add in his “touch her and die” energy and the way he gives Tierney choices—ugh, perfection. 🌶️🔥
The slow build of tension and seduction between them is literally perfect. There’s a conscious effort on both sides to work through misunderstandings and communicate—it made everything feel so real and earned. Also… that bathtub scene? Whew.🤯
Aunt Morag deserves her own crown. She’s like the Downton Abbey grandmother if she were Scottish, hilarious, scheming, and somehow always one step ahead. Her POV chapter? Absolute joy. Her distractions and plans? Queen behavior. 👑
Kenan and Tierney are the blueprint for what I want in a relationship. This book gave me everything—romance, adventure, found family, and characters that feel like real people. Seriously, why does Kenan want the glider so badly? And more importantly, how do I get my own Highlander?
Thank you Entangled and Heather McCollum for the ARC!

Tierney and Kenan - love them. The love that evolves between them 💕💕 beautiful!
This is book 2 and now I need to read the first book too. However I wasn’t lost by not reading it first.
The balance between their love , dramatic pasts and all the hardships has the reader keeping interest. This has me all - action , humor , tad bit of dark and ROMANCE

I really enjoy this series and can't wait to read the next two books in the series, especially because Cyrus and Asher are the ones that I'm most intrigued by. But back to the story at hand!
Tier and Kenan are an interesting couple who definitely are thrown together in unconventional means. By the time that Tier is on her fourth plan of the day, it's clear that trouble is bound to happen, though you can't help but root for her happiness after all that Tier has survived. Kenan likewise is a survivor, though the book deals less with the after effects of his imprisonment than Tier's.
This is definitely plot heavy, which suits me just fine, as Heather McCollum always has really interesting action plotlines threaded through her series that really make them very engaging.

5 Stars! Loved this book! Heather McCollum is my favorite author, hands down! She writes such amazing books that have historical facts, lovable characters, strong female main characters and swoon worthy sexy times scenes! This is the second book in the ‘Brotherhood of Solway Moss’ series & can be read as a standalone but I think it would be better read in order. I read book one & absolutely loved that also. The main characters were Tierney & Kenan and I really liked both of them. Kenan wants to unite the Scottish Isles against England and Tierney wants help because another clan is trying to force her to marry. Steamy sexy times, strong female main character, sexy main male character, easy to hate evil bad guys, surprising moments, an HEA ending, and much more. Totally worth reading. I have nothing bad to say about this book. 100% recommend this series!
*I received this book at no charge & I voluntarily left this review.*

I have not read a historical romance in quite some time and the book filled that itch. Action, tension, romance, stubborn and strong characters, all set in the Highlands of Scotland. This is book 2 in s series of standalone in the Brotherhood of Solway Moss series and once again it filled that itch to read a swoon worthy historical romance. Loved the characters, the setting and the romance! Somehow I missed book 1 and now, even though these are standalone stories, I will be going back and diving in.
Many thanks to Entangled Publishing and NetGalley for a gifted arc of this book. All opinions are my own.
