“We all have funny nicknames from our families near and far, and even though they’re silly, they’re a part of who we are.” A unique story about God's name for each of us, His little children.

God’s Name for Me by Talia Messina is a sweet and uplifting board book that celebrates the nicknames children are given by those who love them, culminating in a reminder of their most important name as a beloved child of God. The rhyming text and realistic illustrations bring warmth and relatability, making it an ideal read-aloud for babies and toddlers. Perfect for family, church, or nursery settings, it gently reinforces identity, love, and belonging.

People have all sorts of nicknames for you, but the name that matters the most is Precious Child because God gave us that name. A charming illustrated book that would be a great addition to a family or church's library.
I received an eARC of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. All opinions expressed in this review are my own.

"God's Name for Me" is a Christian board book for young children. It shows boys and girls of different ethnic backgrounds telling about a nickname a family member gave to them and why they got their nickname. All are sweet reasons, and the illustrations show the family enjoying doing things together related to the nickname. The book ends with God's name for us and "It's all about 'whose' you are and not what you can do." His name for you? "God calls you Precious Child 'cause his love for you is strong." The illustrations were in a realistic style and did a good job of supporting and expanding upon the text. Overall, I'd recommend this delightful board book.

This a beautifully illustrated book. This charming story explores the fact that every child has a special identity bestowed by God, making them truly one-of-a-kind. What I adore about this book is how it highlights the adorable nicknames and the warm, close knit relationships within family. It's a heartfelt celebration of love, identity, and the special bonds that make us who we are!
I received a complimentary e-copy of this book. I was under no obligation to leave a positive review. Thank you, Tyndale House Publishers and Tyndale Kids.

I requested this book on the title alone. It is very relatable for the preschool age and the overall message is understandable. I will add this to my "all about me" lesson. The illustrations are beautiful.

Cute little book, probably wouldn’t use it with any grades older than First Grade. Not sure if I’d include it in a Religious Education teaching program

God’s Name for Me by Talia Messina is such a sweet read! The lyrical rhyme skips across the pages and draws you through a cute narrative that reflects the unique nicknames we all gain throughout our lifetimes. Most important, it underscores the most important name we have when we belong to Christ. A snuggly-special read for bedtime or anytime.
