This was a fast-paced, twisty read that had me second-guessing every character’s motive. Sonya is just trying to find love (or at least a decent date), but things spiral quickly—and one swipe leads to deadly consequences. When Jake, a down-on-his-luck journalist, starts digging for a scandalous story, their paths collide in unexpected ways.

I really enjoyed the premise and the dual POV. Sonya was a fascinating mix of vulnerable and vengeful, and Jake brought a gritty, investigative edge to the story. The pacing was solid, the writing smooth, and I flew through it in a couple sittings.

That said, some twists were a little predictable, and I wish the villain had more depth. Still, this was an entertaining thriller that kept my attention and made me think maybe I’ll just stick to meeting people the old-fashioned way.

There’s something undeniably satisfying about a revenge plot especially when it flips the script on sleazy, married cheaters. The concept behind this story? Brilliant. Sonya’s had it with the bottom-feeders of the dating app world, and after one particularly vile encounter, things spiral out of control. One man ends up dead, and suddenly, she’s tangled in a web of consequences she never saw coming.

Enter Jake a struggling journalist desperate to turn a puff piece into his big break. His storyline added a nice contrast, filled with awkward app dates and an escalating sense of unease. Watching him piece together the puzzle and collide with Sonya along the way kept the suspense simmering.

The pacing stayed sharp and the premise had real bite, but I found myself craving more depth from the characters. Sonya’s leap into vigilante territory felt underexplored; hints of her past were there, but not enough to ground her choices in something truly compelling. I wanted to root for her, to understand her—but she stayed just out of emotional reach.

Then general premise of this book has a lot of potential - married men posing as single on a dating app turn up dead. Could it be coincidence, or the work of a woman scorned? And, for the most part, it does live up to that potential.

We follow Sonya - a singleton looking for love on a dating app, and Jake - a former top news reporter now working for an online magazine writing menial stories but looking for that one scoop that will catapult him back to the top.

Jake is tasked by his editor to write a story about dating apps and the ups and downs that go with them. To accomplish this, he sets up dates with women on the app and talks to them about their experiences, sometimes coming clean about what he's doing, other times he doesn't.

In the mean time, Matt - a married man posing as single to attract women - falls to his death from a hiking trail, a death that is ruled a tragic accident. Until another man, also on the same app, also married but posing as single, also turns up dead - the second man being Sonya's brother in law. Soon, Jake is onto these two deaths and trying to find connections to link them both, and to talk the police into reopening the investigation into Matt's death. The more Jake digs, the more he uncovers, and the trickier it becomes for him to figure out the truth.

Filled with twists, turns, and red herrings, this is a novel that keeps you wanting to read on to the next chapter. There are a few lulls in the story where the pace slows, one or two moments where you think to yourself 'Really? You expect us to believe that?" But, on the whole, this is a great premise for a story, and an original plot. It did more than enough to keep me invested in the story and how it was going to turn out for both Sonya and Jake. I can honestly recommend it for anyone who's into crime thrillers.

I was suppose to be done with this book, but life was definitely lifing for me in April. These authors were a new for me & I do like the writing style of this book. Imagine trying to find love on a dating app but running into all the wrong type of men is the challenges that Sonya faced. The things that happened in this book can most definitely happen in real life & especially 2025. This book definitely took a turn but I knew it had to be a reason Ms Psycho was always mentioned.

I had high hopes for this book. That said, although I thought the concept of the story was really cool and attractive, the execution for me was a little awkward.

The first person narration threw me off a bit, not much though. It was really easy but not pleasing to read. Still, not really anything wrong with the book, I just thought it was not really what i look for in this kind of book. The writing style was the thing that made me not enjoy it that much.

This is the second book by Bonnie Traymore that I have read and I am quickly becoming a fan!! With a clever premise and well written dialogue, Swipe is a taut psychological suspense thriller that had me swiping (see what I did there?!) the pages as fast as I could! The twists were well placed and the different POVs helped to coherently piece together the story. I would definitely recommend checking Swipe out!!

Swipe" is an exciting thriller that kept me reading late into the night. This story illuminates the dangers of using dating apps. Users of dating apps never know if the person is married, or has dark intentions.

The novel flowed well, building mystery and suspense within every chapter. It was fast-paced and left me guessing up until the very end. I definitely recommend this to anyone who loves psychological thrillers that will keep you on your toes, and are well written.

MY READING EXPERIENCE:

Sonya is a character you'll instantly connect with. She's just trying to navigate chaotic world of dating apps, but things take a seriously dark turn.

What starts with Sonya just wanting to teach some bad guys a lesson quickly turns into something way bigger and way more dangerous. The authors do such a fantastic job of building the suspense. You'll be on the edge of your seat wondering just how far Sonya will go. And for those of us who appreciate a bit of "righteous revenge", especially when it's aimed at those who DESERVE it, WELL....let's just say Sonya delivers in a way you won't see coming. Just my opinion only...

Then we have Jake Parker. He is a journalist who's got his own stuff going on, and he finds out that there's something way darker happening than just bad dates. As Jake starts looking into things, the story gets even more interesting and mysterious.

When Sonya and Jake finally meet? It's like watching two cats circle each other. You know something's gonna happen! The air is thick with "Do I trust you?" vibes. It's brilliantly awkward and keeps you playing "Who's the bigger weirdo?" game in your head the whole time!

"Swipe" is one of those books that sticks with you. You'll finish it, but your brain will still be trying to untangle everything.

And the ending? Let's just say there's a creepy danger hiding in the shadows that Sonya and Jake don't even see coming. And that makes the whole story even more chilling! If you're looking for a smart, suspenseful thriller with characters you'll be invested in, put this on your list immediately!

I dont think I will ever trust anyone on dating apps ever again after reading this. While it was a real thriller it was psychological for sure. I was thinking along and trying to figure out the murder along with the characters Jake and Sonya. The book proved that everyone on those apps lies in an exciting fashion and storyline. I do quite enjoy a good murder storyline. At some point I was convinced it was a revenge exchange murder plot before another one of the twists came to light. I did like the formatting that makes it obvious when the line was sent as a message on the dating app and the explanations surrounding it. I also enjoyed how the characters did lean onto each other to solve the case.
Really enjoyed the book as a relatively easy in between read without too much thought having to be put into it, while still holding my attention firmly in its grasp. For some of the characters I though they were just plain stupid, but again, that just is the case sometimes...

This was a good thriller. Very entertaining and a fast read. Really needed a break from fantasy and this gave me exactly what I needed

Swipe started off slow but once you get in the middle of the book it picks up. It keeps you guessing who did it. I found the writing style was a bit fast paced like they wanted to get the book done and I feel like they should of gone more in depth with Jake, sonya and Claire.

The reason why I felt like it was slow in the beginning because I felt it needed to bring in the characters with more depth and not just throw us straight into the story of the first murder. Then once you get into the middle of the story of when they started to get the evidence it made you curious of what was going to happen next.

This was such a great read and I was completely hooked and raced through this in only 2 sittings ....I just couldn't stop!

Verdict:
Swipe is a slick, smart, and sinister thriller for the digital age. If you like your suspense with bite, wit, and a modern twist, this one’s worth swiping right on.

I was really intrigued by the summary, but honestly, I feel a little misled by what this book ended up being. Everything felt rushed—especially the relationship between Jake and Sonya, which could’ve been so much more impactful with more depth and detail. And Claire? There was no explanation for why she developed this obsessive stalking thing with Jake, which left a major gap in the story for me. I just wanted more: more character motivation, more emotional build-up, and more consistency with the premise. Not a bad read, but it didn’t deliver what I was hoping for.

This book was amazing. It had me guessing the whole time. I really wasn’t sure at some points who was behind it all. And for there to be an app involved even better. I really didn’t see the ending coming

Swipe started off slow but quickly picked up a few chapters in. It is well written, however there were a few times when the storyline was repetitive.

Sonya, FMC, is likable and relatable but seems a little off kilter. While looking for love via dating apps, she becomes a sort of a vigilante after encountering a few “interesting” men on their meetups. When she finds herself in the midst of a murder investigation, thanks to Jake, a pushy journalist hell-bent on writing the next big story, she finds herself questioning her own life choices along the way.

This story is full of twists and turns… some obvious and some not. It will definitely make you think twice about joining dating apps!
