First of all thank you to Netgalley for allowing me to read this before publication date!!
The story of a dating app gone wrong was truly a fast paced keep you guessing story and I loved it!

Swipe is a fast-paced, darkly witty thriller that blends modern dating drama with psychological suspense, delivering a compulsively readable ride through the shadowy corners of romance, revenge, and digital deception. Co-authors Bonnie Traymore and R.G. Belsky expertly balance humor, tension, and emotional stakes in this timely tale about what happens when swiping right goes dangerously wrong.
At the heart of the novel is Sonya Romano—a smart, sharp woman who’s hit her limit with the parade of sleazy, dishonest men populating dating apps. After one too many creepy encounters, she takes matters into her own hands. What begins as a cathartic confrontation turns deadly when a married man falls to his death, setting off a chain of events that spirals far beyond Sonya’s control.
Enter Jake Parker, a once-prominent journalist now scraping the bottom of his career barrel. When he’s assigned to write a fluff piece on dating apps, Jake stumbles upon a pattern of suspicious deaths—and a potential story that could reignite his career. As Jake digs deeper and Sonya scrambles to stay ahead of the fallout, their paths converge in a cat-and-mouse game charged with suspicion, chemistry, and moral ambiguity.
What makes Swipe stand out is its clever dual perspective: Sonya’s tense descent into guilt and desperation is matched by Jake’s reluctant reawakening as an investigative journalist. Their complex dynamic—equal parts attraction and distrust—adds emotional depth to the twisty plot. And just when you think you know where the story’s headed, a chilling third player emerges: a true psychopath lurking beneath the surface of the dating world, ready to upend everything.
Traymore and Belsky have a keen eye for character and a sharp ear for dialogue. They also deftly explore the darker aspects of online dating: the lies, the risks, and the vulnerabilities people expose when searching for connection. It’s both a thriller and a cultural critique, wrapped in a story that keeps the pages turning.
Verdict:
Swipe is a slick, smart, and sinister thriller for the digital age. If you like your suspense with bite, wit, and a modern twist, this one’s worth swiping right on.

I was really intrigued by the summary, but honestly, I feel a little misled by what this book ended up being. Everything felt rushed—especially the relationship between Jake and Sonya, which could’ve been so much more impactful with more depth and detail. And Claire? There was no explanation for why she developed this obsessive stalking thing with Jake, which left a major gap in the story for me. I just wanted more: more character motivation, more emotional build-up, and more consistency with the premise. Not a bad read, but it didn’t deliver what I was hoping for.

This book was amazing. It had me guessing the whole time. I really wasn’t sure at some points who was behind it all. And for there to be an app involved even better. I really didn’t see the ending coming

Sonya Romano's frustration with bad internet dates takes a deadly turn when a confrontation with a cheating date leads to his accidental death. Meanwhile, investigative journalist Jake Parker suspects a serial killer is targeting cheating men on dating apps, and his investigation brings him dangerously close to Sonya, as they both uncover a darker threat lurking around them.

Swipe started off slow but quickly picked up a few chapters in. It is well written, however there were a few times when the storyline was repetitive.
Sonya, FMC, is likable and relatable but seems a little off kilter. While looking for love via dating apps, she becomes a sort of a vigilante after encountering a few “interesting” men on their meetups. When she finds herself in the midst of a murder investigation, thanks to Jake, a pushy journalist hell-bent on writing the next big story, she finds herself questioning her own life choices along the way.
This story is full of twists and turns… some obvious and some not. It will definitely make you think twice about joining dating apps!
Thanks to NetGalley for the advanced digital copy!!

The book was so good. It follows two different people both on dating apps and then it leads up to them meeting and of course murder

Swipe by R.G. Belsky is action packed psychological thriller with an unexpected twist and heart-pounding action. I loved the way the story was twisted, and I loved that I didn't have any clue of what the hell was happening.
Sonya is a dating app user who deals with lying men on this app. She hopes there is someone out there, but struggles to find him. When one of her dates tragically dies in front of her she is sucked into uncontrollable roller couster where more people dies and she could become a potential suspect.
Jacke is a reporter in The American Scene, and his boss assigns him to make a story about his experiences on a dating app. When Jacke signs up, he didn't expect anything more than a few sloppy dates, especially, he didn't expect that this would put him back on the map as a serious reporter.
I must say that I don't have any experience with swiping right or left, and it looks like I didn't miss anything in life, ha, ha. But on a serious level, I never thought of how actually dangerous it could be!
Thank you, NetGalley and BooksGoSocial for this copy!

Swipe is a thrilling read that plunges into the chaotic world of dating apps and the wild adventures that come with swiping. The gripping narrative revolves around Sonia and Jake, two individuals driven by their own desires as they navigate this digital labyrinth. Jake seeks a captivating story to give his career a refresh, while Sonia transforms her casual encounters into a quest for something deeper and more meaningful. Their lives intertwine at a pivotal moment when tragedy strikes Sonia, forcing them to rely on one another to unravel a gripping mystery woven within the fabric of dating platforms. The plot is a whirlwind of unexpected twists and breathtaking revelations that kept me on the edge of my seat with each chapter, eagerly anticipating how it would all unfold. For anyone who craves an electrifying thriller infused with a compelling mystery, this book is an absolute must-read! I wholeheartedly give it 3.5 stars out of 5!

Swipe catches the dangers of online dating and makes you think twice about a simple swipe because it can quickly turn deadly. The suspense building is perfectly paced making the story last from the first page until the last. The plot is scarily real and imposes some serious messages. I loved the thrill of the chase and never knowing who could be trusted was exciting. I still don't know what to think of the characters but the storyline is brilliantly crafty and gets the mind working overtime!

📖 Book Review: Swipe by Bonnie Traymore
⭐️⭐️⭐️ (3/5)
A fast-paced thriller that dives into the dangers of online dating and digital life. The suspense kicks off early and keeps you hooked—but some of the twists are a bit predictable, and I wanted more depth from the characters. Still, it’s a quick, entertaining read for fans of modern, techy thrillers. 💻📱

The story has potential, but it didn’t go in the direction I expected. Still a very intriguing plot however.

Good credentials for both authors when googled them but both names new to me so wasn’t sure what to expect
What got was a quirky, fiesty yet casual to read book centred around dating apps and what can happen when the wrong person/people use them
For saying the subject matter it was quite a homely book and at least one of the authors love the Hudson river area re the descriptions given of it ( within context and built a good minds eye of the setting )
It was funny and serious, in equal measure and a bit romantic and a bit scary too
If ‘different’ is your thing then a pretty good read tbh, enjoyably dark and yet light and a good story within

‘Swipe’ by R.G. Belsky and Bonnie Traymore was a 3.5/5 star read for me.
This is a story about modern dating apps and the dangers they pose on users. It explores how the FMC, Sonya, gets revenge on people she’s been on dates with through the MetMee app who have offended her. Her revenge plots get out of hand and she finds herself fleeing the scene of a murder. Through the app she meets reporter, Jake, who just wants to get his name out there again and be taken seriously in his profession. He has been tasked with writing a short feature about dating apps, but he’s driven to finding a much bigger story. The two end up crossing paths, not knowing what the other is hiding. Things start to get tricky when Sonya discovers that her brother in law is also on the app, and is found dead after being reported missing. Could Sonya be the one behind it all?
I enjoyed this book and it was a really good concept to explore. This was a fast-paced and easy read, but there weren’t really any jaw-dropping moments for me. The twists were a little predictable, but enjoyable nonetheless.

Thank you to Netgalley and BooksGoSocial for providing this digital advanced book! I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This one kept me on my toes! I did not see the twists, which I appreciated very much. This story follows two characters, Sonya and Jake. Sonya is a single woman attempting to find a match on online dating apps; Jake is a reporter at a low point in his career and is working at a publication that he feels is beneath him. He wishes to work at a more reputable and respectable publication. Following a death at the beginning of the book, Sonya's and Jake's paths wind toward a thrilling conclusion rampant with character suspicions, threats, and lies. I enjoyed how involved and cooperative law enforcement was with Jake; his relationship with the Lt. Sgt. working the case, while fraught at first, developed into one of mutual respect and understanding. I think Sonya was a solid, likeable character, even if the reader is not quite sure of her motivations throughout the book. You still get the sense that she's a good person and hope that things work out for her in the end.
Watching these characters try to figure out the mystery was exciting. I swept through this book. However, I do believe the text can be cleaned up a bit regarding "showing versus telling". That being said, this didn't prevent me from enjoying the book, but it would be significantly better if some scenes were fleshed out a bit.
This cleverly encapsulates the dangers and dishonesty of dating apps, enough to warn me away from them! It truly was astounding to see how far a person will go to trick or lead astray people they meet on those kinds of apps. A truly frightening reality, in today's high-tech world.
3.5/5 stars

3.5 ⭐️ | Enjoyed this read, I will definitely be staying away from dating apps lol. This story was well written, very enjoyable & well paced. Likeable main characters, and even when you wish they do things differently, you still love them. This story made me interested in reading more from these authors.
Sonya is looking for love online, as it is awkward meeting people in person these days. Not initially revealing her true identity, she tackles these dates, one at a time and runs across some very “interesting” men. She slowly finds herself in compromised situations & when she finds herself smack dead in the middle of a murder investigation, she doesn’t know where to turn nor who to trust.
Overall a solid read that was very entertaining, and kept my attention. Thank you BooksGoSocial and NetGalley for this advanced reader copy. All opinions are my own.

The online elements in books is one of my favourites right now and this combined with a thriller made this book very exciting and intense for me,

Thank you to BooksGoSocial and NetGalley for the free arc in exchange for an honest review.
This is a short, fast paced thriller with duelling narratives and it does exactly what is expected of it.
The dying app as source of thriller concept is still on the rise, somehow this feels like an amalgamation of all of those we have seen before.
It’s a fun and quick book but not particularly memorable.

Swipe was a fantastic read! It truly brought the state of today’s dating world into perspective, and how dangerous it could potentially be. You see carefully curated profiles of people, not truly knowing who they are until much later…and by then it could be way too late.
Sonya likes to get revenge on the slimey men pretending to be someone they aren’t on the dating apps, she’s become quite the vigilante of the dating world. Has she met her match in Jake, an undercover reporter researching the dating apps?
The plot twist had my jaw on the floor with this one. Highly recommend.

I am a sucker for a modern thriller. This one is about a dating app and how one swipe can be a huge mistake. Luckily I’m not dating or else this book would make me steer clear of dating apps. I was happy with the pacing in this book and it kept me hooked. It had some really good twists and turns as well. I was able to guess some of them but I enjoyed the lead up to them.
