Coming into this series with Cooper was such fun. I didn't feel I missed a whole lot with his brothers' stories.

Also, I am really craving cinnamon rolls right now. Jen made them sound so delicious and I really want to try the orange roll from the story.

I thought this book was really cute! I thought the banter between the two characters was fun. I didn't understand why she hated Cooper for so long. I felt like the anger she she had for Cooper was misplaced. However, I thought that both families were so fun and I look forward to reading the rest of the books by this author and the other books in this series. I thought Cooper was a sweet character after getting to know his personality after the first couple of chapters. It took some time for Leah to grow on me but she did end up growing on me and I ended up enjoying her character the more I learned about her.

I would love to read other books in this series by Atkinson in the future. This was a cute romance and I look forward to reading more from this author in the future.

I love a good Grumpy/Sunshine trope, but this was a first where I read it reversed. Cooper Bailey was such a dream! He and Leah were the perfect combination of sweet and snarky. I enjoyed their witty banter and humor, despite the fact Leah may have been a bit harsh. This funny RomCom depicts second chance love between a girl and her high school nemesis. You will also love both of their tight-knit families. Such a great read if you love a sweet, closed door romance.

what a couple! i really enjoyed this read. the childhood enemies to lovers is 100% getting me. I think we could all use a cooper bailey (maybe after his teenage years). this is just such a cute romance and i absolute recommend

A wonderful read!
This novel drew me in from the very first page and kept me hooked until the end. The characters were vibrant and relatable, the writing was engaging, and the story had just the right balance of heart and humor. Highly recommend!

It was a heartwarming and charming story. I breezed through the book, it was short and easy read. While it was fairly predictable, I still enjoyed the experience. The story is a classic with themes and plot twists that are lighthearted and straightforward, making it a perfect read for anyone looking for a feel-good escape.

Cooper Bailey is such a cinnamon roll!!! Leah never stood a chance. After figuring out their past, they quickly became friends. The road from friends to lovers is one of my favorites. Live all the family dynamics from both sides. Every side character had depth and charm. Cooper is such a good uncle!!! Could he be more perfect. Love Leahs fire and how its not dimmed by Coop.

I sadly have to say that I didn't like this book. While the premise sounded fun and it did have some laugh out loud moments it just wasn't for me.
While Cooper Bailey was a fun, sweet and compassionate person, Leah was a nightmare. Why in the world would Cooper who is a catch, want to be with such a snotty, rude and whiny girl. She was this way to not only Cooper but others as well. Not only does that not look good for Leah but it might make people think that is how Cooper is too. I guess in this case opposites attract but as far as I could tell Cooper should have run fast and far to get away from such a bratty person. I just couldn't take it and would have not finished it if it weren't for it being an arc.

I LOVED this book. Cooper Bailey? I’m in love. I hate miscommunication and there was none here!!! The initial conflict is reasonable and explainable and Cooper bends over backwards to make amends. This man is truly a cinnamon roll. When dealing with pathetic jerk he was suddenly a cinnamon roll Rottweiler?? Leah was also wonderful. She felt realistic and her goals/aspirations were attainable. The way Atkinson wrote the Bailey family meetings made me feel as though I was in the room with them. Dialogue flowed naturally and felt realistic. If you can’t tell yet I loved this book and will definitely pick up another by this author!!

This book was adorable. It was a perfect amalgamation of a rom-com and sweet, closed door romance. Leah, a baker in her mid 20s, has hated Cooper Bailey for a long time due to a stunt he pulled at prom almost a decade ago. And everyone knows about it. Cooper is a lawyer in his late 20s who is recently home after a stint as a high profile attorney in a big city. However, he got fired and feels like he's returned in disgrace. Leah is being sued by her ex for rights to the name of her cinnamon roll shop, and Cooper offers to help her figure out the logistics and legalities of keeping the name Sweet Swirls.

There were a lot of great things about this book. 1) The family dynamic between the Coopers was insanely sweet. You see a similar dynamic in Leah's family. Both families are close to their children, warm and welcoming, and I enjoyed seeing Cooper be an uncle to his nieces and nephews throughout the book and his relationships with them. 2) The anticipation of the will they-won't they between Leah and Cooper was fun and exciting. This book was sweet and did not require spice in order to be a little swoony. 3) The side characters are delightful and funny. I wanted to keep up with them. It was almost like watching Gilmore Girls, in that sometimes the side characters stole the scene or made it what it was. The small town vibe was immaculate.

However, I also felt that Leah held the grudge against Cooper for a little longer than necessary. I understand she was bullied after his stunt, but it felt laborious after a while that every single person was shocked they worked together or were seen together. It was also a little repetitive that each person had to call him Cooper "Do You Think I'm Sexy?" Bailey, like it was a title.

Overall, the book was such a sweet read and enjoyable. A solid four stars!

It also includes an additional sibling, Coco, who was the heroine in Insta Family. While Cooper Bailey can be read as a standalone, I highly recommend that the stories be read in order, starting with Insta Family. This series takes place in Coeur D’Alene, Idaho.

25-year-old Leah Bradford had a traumatic prom night during her junior year of high school, and it’s colored her life since then. She is a shy, introverted baker who has recently opened her own cinnamon roll shop, Sweet Swirls. Her boyfriend of two years, JP Booker, dumped her and is now suing her over the naming rights for Sweet Swirls. They had cohosted a podcast by that name and worked together for a local caterer.

26-year-old Cooper Bailey has led an easy life until the past six months, when his career imploded. As the youngest of four brothers, he was the charmer of the family and oozed self-confidence. Cooper Bailey Is a Cinnamon Roll is the first book in the Bailey Brother series that I have read, and I loved it! The story was excellent, with good pacing and excellent foreshadowing by the author. The reader knew where the characters were headed and just had to wait on them to discover it themselves. Early on, I was unhappy with Leah’s constant dwelling on her high school prom experience and blaming her relationship failures on it. Then her wise mom gave her a talking-to that was much better than anything I could say. The side characters and their antics made this story so enjoyable, particularly Andrea’s ever-changing names for ex-JP, Cricket’s sales tactics, and everything 10-year-old Alice did. I’m thrilled that this author is writing Alice Taylor Is More Than a Princess next.

Now this book. Wow. Just wow. I never expected to love it as much as I did. There’s something magical about discovering a new author who completely surprises you… It just means more books for me to devour!

Let’s talk about Cooper Bailey because, MY GOD, this man is a cinnamon roll in human form. I’m not even exaggerating. This is a grumpy-sunshine romance, but flipped - he’s 𝘵𝘩𝘦 sunshine. And not the soft, subtle kind either. Cooper is the blinding, warm, feel-it-in-your-chest kind of sunshine. The kind of guy who’s always smiling, always kind, and lights up a room without even trying. I swear I smiled every time he showed up on the page.🥰

He’s smart, handsome, funny, helpful, endlessly positive - and just so genuinely good. And the way he was awkward and nervous when he first met Leah? Literal heart-eyes😍. He was so endearing, it was impossible not to fall for him. Honestly, I think he might be my favorite cinnamon roll/sunshine character ever. And yes, Leah was great too - strong, relatable, snarky. But for me, this was Cooper’s book. He owned every scene and completely stole the show.

Also, both Cooper’s and Leah’s families were such a delight. Supportive, loving, and close-knit—the kind of families that make your heart feel full. I absolutely adored their dynamic and the warmth they brought to the story.

And the best part? I had no idea this was part of a series until I was already deep into it - and it didn’t matter at all. It stands perfectly on its own.

Sweet, funny, comforting, and full of charm - this is a romantic story I highly recommend!

A story so sweet, I want a cinnamon roll!

Cooper Bailey has no trouble with women - except for her. Leah hasn't liked - excuse me, she's hated - Cooper since an unfortunate high school incident that left Leah the recipient of bulling and unwanted attention. She was content to never see Cooper Bailey again but after reconnecting through mutual friends, Cooper is determined to make it up to Leah and prove himself to be better than before.

Omg they are so cute! I really love their dynamic, their banter is very realistic, and their chemistry radiates off the page. Now I haven't read any of the other books in this series, but I am so interested to catch up on the whole Bailey family! This book has so much personality embedded in the writing style, and it feels almost diary or inner monologue-esque. Within the first chapter, I was laughing out loud, and I could not put the book the down!

This book was such a cute romance that flowed well and had all the banter I could ask for! The characters were each fun and made an interesting cast for the mc’s to interact with. I loved how Cooper and Leah were enemies, then frenemies, then more. I was living for their moments that were everything but casual!

Okay, now I am desperate for a pastry from Leah’s shop! My appetite aside, this story is the perfect cutesy enemies to lovers romcom! I hadn’t read the others in the series but now I definitely want to - the extended Bailey family is adorable. The book was lighthearted and fluffy, and featured lots of banter between the main characters. I love a grumpy/sunshine trope when the FMC is the grump (though I would say more fiery than grumpy)!

Read if you like: Wholesome men, baking, tight-knit families, matchmaking 10 year olds, sidekicks in the form of small relatives and stingy old neighbors, non-spicy romance, mouthwatering descriptions of sweet rolls

It was a very wholesome and sweet story. I flew through the book as it was a short and easy read. It was also very predictable, but I still had a very good time.

The story is YA through and through, in the way that the themes and twists and turns are all very light and easy. However, it has some very good messages in it, and it was very sweet. It was nice; I would recommend it for sure.

Positives:
The story is light and cozy with many can’t-help-but-smile moments sprinkled over the top. Some of them are laugh out loud funny! And Cooper? He’s a sweetheart. One who cooks, babysits, and doesn’t hesitate to apologize.

Top Moments:
- Alice, Arnold, and Cricket may be scene stealers
- Cooper, the uncle/ babysitter
- The boat and cake scenes (poor Leah!)
- Cooper talking with his brother
- The ending

I also like the close-knit family element of the story. They add so much warmth. For the most part, three side characters stand out: Alice, Arnold, and Cricket. They really bring a little extra zing to a scene!

Negatives:
For me, Leah’s character does not come across in a flattering way. Sure, her behavior is influenced by contributing factors, but her thoughts reveal a hint of immaturity and pettiness. Her reaction to learning that Cooper’s life isn’t perfect makes her seem a little self-absorbed. Unfortunately, by the time her character improves, I felt detached from the story. The scenes with Cooper, Alice, Arnold, and Cricket kept my interest, but I was not truly invested in the romance aspect.

Another drawback for me is Leah hoping that her de*d grandfather would help her business. It’s barely mentioned, but it’s there and not necessary in light of the whole story. The bond they shared is a pivotal part of the plot and is mentioned throughout the book.

Conclusion:
I haven’t read the rest of the books in this series, but I didn’t feel lost. Overall, the story has a sitcom or romcom (movie) feel to it, and the dialogue flows swiftly and smoothly. Some of the moments are really funny, as previously stated, and the ending is very sweet and appropriate for the story. Lastly, I like the attention to detail in using two different graphics for their chapters.

This book was a heartwarming enemies to friends to lovers. While the enemies portion was short lived I believe that the reason for hatred had some validity and room for forgiveness compared to others I have read. I appreciated that there was no third act breakup.

I am a little disappointed about the case not actually going to court though. It was the build up of the entire book and to see it end with PJ dropping the case was a little disappointing.

Leah and Cooper had great chemistry though and I loved to see their love grow throughly the book.

This was the sweetest romance! I loved Leah and cooper their banter was perfect and so entertaining! I love the family dynamics in this series and how we get to know all of our side characters better with each novel! The bakery setting was so much fun and made me want a homemade cinnamon roll in the biggest way. I think this might be my favorite in the series we knew all of the family members better Leah was a total sweetheart and the best fmc and cooper was the most selfless and lovable Mac and the best uncle!

The story was good, but it dragged out in places. Too much focus on actual cinnamon rolls. This was a sweet, cozy romance.
