Overall this was a cute romance read that was nice to read in between other things. The story focuses around Leah who owns a cinnamon roll shop and Cooper who is a lawyer. Leah has held a life long grudge against Cooper for something silly that happened in high school.

I really wasn't a fan of Leah and her horrible personality. She was so mean to Cooper when they reconnected through friends. I felt that her reasoning for hating him was absolutely ridiculous. I'm sure such an event happening in high school would not lead to such a catastrophic outcome that would still somehow be affecting her in adulthood. She just seemed childish and petty f0r no reason.

Cooper was quite the cinnamon roll throughout the book. He was very kind and always looking out for his family and Leah. He even buys a grumpy old man a cinnamon roll almost every day. Cooper does feel remorse for making Leah's life so awful that he tries to do anything possible to help her life be easier. He supports her local business on a regular basis and even takes on a lawsuit for her pro bono.

Leah does become a little more tolerable later in the book after she realizes he really isn't that bad and maybe she was a bit dramatic. Their dynamic together becomes more enjoyable as she isn't constantly being awful to him and communicates better. Thank you to Netgalley, Victoria Editing, and Jen Atkinson for an ARC of this book. This review is my own honest opinion.

Personality pours out of this book. The two had palpable chemistry, which can be difficult to do in a closed-door, not-steamy book. I loved their families, the way they grew, the way they learned one another. I do think Leah was a bit of a drama llama about the whole do-you-think-i'm sexy thing, but I was glad to see her move past it.

Leah dislikes Cooper after the trouble he caused her in high school. Can he make amends now he is back in town? A great read.

This was such a fun and entertaining book! The characters are lovable and understandable. I could relate to both. They struggled with their past and worked to improve their interactions. Their families were warm and inviting. It is a feel good book that will warm your heart and make you crave a cinnamon roll.

I wasn’t sure what to expect when I started reading this, but it ended up being such a pleasant surprise. The romance was light and genuine, with a lovely balance of sweetness and tension between the two main characters. Their journey from rivals to something more was captivating, and I found myself invested in their story. The enemies-to-lovers aspect felt fresh, and their interactions made me smile more than once.

The baking theme added such a cozy, fun vibe to the whole thing. It wasn’t just a background detail—it really brought the characters together and gave their interactions a unique flavor. I loved how something as simple as baking could drive the plot forward and provide moments of connection between the characters.

I didn’t realize this was part of a series at first, but honestly, it didn’t matter at all. I could fully enjoy the story without feeling lost or like I missed something. It was the perfect book for when you're in the mood for something sweet, fun, and easy to fall into!

FIVE SWEET SWIRLY STARS!

Leah Bradford was relatively invisible in high school—until Cooper Bailey shined a spotlight on her with the performance of a lifetime at prom. And Leah hasn't forgotten—or forgiven—him. Now, years later, Leah finds herself set up on a blind double date by her close friend Andrea, and who should appear to dine alongside her? None other than Cooper "Do-You-Think-I'm-Sexy" Bailey. But here's a little secret: Cooper Bailey, I think you're sexy. And adorable. And hilarious. And a total cinnamon roll. Seriously, my teeth hurt from how sweet this story was.

This is a one-sided enemies to lovers romance, and I loved how Cooper was unwavering in his dedication to gaining Leah's forgiveness. The way they both not only accepted each other's flaws but also pushed each other to become better versions of themselves was incredibly heartwarming.

This is the first book I've read by Jen Atkinson, and I can confidently say I'll be back for more. I need the rest of the Bailey family history injected straight into my bloodstream, like, immediately. This book pulled me in like a warm hug and held me close until the very end. Now that it's over, I'd be lying if I said I didn't feel a little bit chilly.

Bonus mini-spoiler: Arnold bringing Cooper rolls???? I love you, Arnold!

This was the sweetest redemption, second chance romance.
Cooper Bailey is a literal cinnamon roll! What a cutie!

Leah is a strong and determined FMC, she’s inspiring.

I’m so glad she gave into the chemistry and gave Cooper a chance, when he told her he loved her and she didn’t say it back, I was worried we were going to lose the HEA but have no fear, 10mins and a Bailey meeting later she was admitting her feelings too - phew!

Also, the fact it was “clean” and there was no smut in sight was refreshing!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ | Swoon-Worthy Romance

This is the first book I’ve read by this author, and not only does it work perfectly as a standalone, but it also made me want to dive into the rest of the series. The glimpses of the other relationships included into the story piqued my curiosity, making me want to read more.

From the very first page, this book had my attention. The banter, the humor—everything about it was so entertaining and adorable. I absolutely fell for Cooper’s charm and loved the pacing of his and Leah’s relationship. Their dynamic felt natural while still delivering plenty of giggle-worthy, swoon-inducing moments.

If you’re looking for a clean, fast-paced romance with lovable characters and a well-crafted plot, this book is a perfect choice!

At the risk of sounding redundant, but wow, Cooper Bailey is indeed a cinnamon roll!

This book was the definition of a sweet romance. It had everything I needed to get me out of a slump: it was swoony, funny, and had the best cast of characters.

The story behind Leah's hatred of Cooper - even though a little dramatic - was very traumatic for a girl in high school, so we do understand her motives. I love how this book is rooted in family, both Leah's abuelo and Puerto Rican heritage and the Baileys' chaotic dynamic. It was the perfect grand finale to the Bailey Brothers series.

And when you get to the part where the book title is mentioned in the story... I don't want to spoil anything, but it was the cutest thing.

This is the kind of reading that is capable of getting you out of a slump, and I couldn't recommend it enough. Overall, the series is super sweet, but this book is another level. Also, shout out to Jen Atkinson for the bonus epilog - to make it centered around Lucy was amazing!

Thank you so much to the Netgalley and publishing team for access to this ARC. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Not only is Cooper Bailey a Cinnamon Roll, but this book is definitely a Cinnamon Roll! Delicious, Sweet, Comfort Read, and Very Satisfying!

Leah, you might not care for Cooper, which I totally get after what happened years ago, but you have to admit he is definitely as sweet and kind as they come! Girl, just trust him and ask more questions about the past. Maybe then more understanding on both of your parts can let that hurt have healing.

Cooper, keep being the kind person you are, and listen to Leah. Help her to see the real you. And yes, keep buying those pecan rolls. She'll eventually see you and come around to knowing the real you.

Just a little advice for you two main characters. You're going to need it!

Such a fun read. The secondary characters were just as delightful as the main characters. I haven't read the previous books in this series but have seen several friends reading and enjoying them that I wanted to dive in and see for myself. I want to go back and read more of these Bailey Brother books because seeing them in this book was so fun. I really like them a lot!

The romance was sweet and flirty and fun. I loved the moments of healing for these two characters. And watching them work together through struggles and find joy and happiness in their lives. They both need a win!

Content: Clean.

Leah’s sharp wit and no-nonsense attitude make her a relatable and endearing protagonist, while Cooper’s journey from cocky jock to humble, swoon-worthy hero is both satisfying and heartwarming. Their banter is hilarious, their chemistry is undeniable, and the way they slowly go from enemies to something more is a delight to watch unfold.

Overall, this book was really cute. I liked all of the characters and enjoyed the plot. Personally, i prefer my book boyfriends to be more on the broody side, which led me to not enjoying this book very much. However, I would still recommend it to anyone who loves a simple, cute romance read.

Another Bailey Brothers book, and once again, it did not disappoint! Jen Atkinson has truly mastered the art of crafting heartwarming, funny, and emotionally engaging romances. While the titles of these books may be playful, the stories themselves pack a real punch, filled with depth, charm, and irresistible characters.

From the very first page, I was completely hooked. Cooper Bailey is the ultimate cinnamon roll hero—sweet, thoughtful, and impossible not to love. The enemies-to-lovers dynamic was so well done, with just the right mix of tension, banter, and swoon-worthy moments. Throw in a high school history setting, an old nemesis, and a ten-year-old “wing girl” playing matchmaker, and you’ve got a recipe for a delightful, feel-good romance.

The big Bailey family dynamic added so much warmth, and the “red dress” moment? Absolute perfection! I was fully invested from start to finish, and now I just want more. If you love a wholesome, slow-burn romance with plenty of humor and heart, this one is a must-read!

The Bailey family have worked their way into my heart. I have loved each one of the books and was not so patiently waiting for Cooper to finally get his story. Leah was a great match for him; their banter making me laugh. I loved how Cooper owned up to his mistake and that we got to see underneath the flirty exterior, to the sweet cinnamon roll inside. The extra story with the other family members was touching and is why I love series. The characters become real people and you get invested in their lives, even when their book is over, so when they show up in the other books it makes my heart happy.
It was a very happy surprise to see that little Alice grows up and gets her own book too. That girl cracks me up.

Enemies to lovers, closed door romance.

Cooper Bailey has just returned home after being fired from his job. He has agreed to go one a blind date, he is feeling optimistic for the first time in a while. When he gets to the restaurant, he is surprised to see Leah Bradford. The girl that he embarrassed at prom who also hates his guts.

Leah is being sued by her ex and she has come to the realization that she cannot afford an attorney. Even though she hates Cooper Bailey she asks him for help. In no time at all she realizes that she does not really know Cooper at all.

This was such a cute story. I loved the banter between both of the main characters. Their families were also great. I love it when children are written into the story. Alice was absolutely adorable. I cannot think of one bad thing about the book. None of the overdone tropes or third act breakups in site. Just a cute wholesome romance.

Thank you NetGalley and Victory Editing for this title. This is my honest review.

What a fan cozy read! I really enjoyed the characters of this book and felt that the overall enemies to lovers was pretty well written. I related alot to Coopers character and would have like to see a little more on his actual work/etc life. I feel like while we got to know the FMC super well the Mc was not so much. but still I loved it! thanks for letting me have a copy of your arc! :)

I just got this delightful book from NetGalley and read it in a day because it is so fun! I loved both main characters, Leah and Cooper. I also appreciated the sweet family dynamics and the message that while everyone makes poor choices, people can change for the better. So, in general, I thought the enemies-to-friends-to-lovers dynamic was generally well done.

While a few aspects of the story weren’t to my personal taste (e.g., some potty humor, dwelling on physical attraction to butts, and being attracted to a woman who yells at you), I still really enjoyed the story overall! I give it 4.5 stars rounded up to 5. I recommend it to others who enjoy contemporary enemies-to-lovers kissing-only romance with a little extra sizzle, character growth, and family dynamics.

Thank you to NetGalley and Victory Editing CoOp for the free eARC! I post this review with my honest opinions. This review is cross-posted on Amazon, Goodreads, and Instagram.

Content notes: infertility, discussion of adoption, physical attraction, some potty humor, a man helps a woman dress, a man and woman notice each other’s backsides, semi-descriptive kissing, discussion of unhealthy past romantic relationships, death of a grandparent mentioned

I always love when books have bakers in it. This book is about a girl named Leah, who just opened a cinnamon roll bake shop. Unfortunately, her ex-boyfriend is suing her. In comes Cooper, who is a lawyer down on his luck after one of his cases didn’t go too smoothly. These two meet on a blind date and work together to take down her ex and save her store.

-Memorable characters
-Enemies to Lovers
-Slow burn
-he falls first
