A charming story of reconnection and living life for the here and now.
My favorite part of the book was the setting. Hong Kong is such a vibrant interesting blend of culture and history and it’s been over a decade since I visited but I was able to experience it again through Low’s story.
Th is book is also about second chances: at friendships and also relationships.
Moira gave up on a relationship back then but how about right now.

I love a Shari Low book, she develops characters beautifully and this book was nothing exception.
This was set in Hong Kong where 30 years earlier three aspiring musicians resided. Two of the original trio venture back to where it all started and travel down memory lane unearthing both heartwarming and heartwrenching memories.

Shari low has written another fabulous story, emotional and nostalgic. It has you laughing one minute then crying the next.
Spread over the course of a week this time, One More Day Of Us caught me up in a spell of beautiful memories and it was wonderful seeing Hong King through the women’s eyes.
I loved seeing Moira again, she was always a favourite of mine from the previous book and the reunion after a lifetime away sounded like the perfect week.
Having the story told across the two timelines made it flow quickly and I loved seeing the three of them in the 1990’s.

Moira and her friends Lisa and Carina were all in Hong Kong in the nineties and they all had blossoming musical careers. As time often proves, going separate ways can suddenly put decades between friendships that seemed certain to last forever.

It is present day in 2025 and the women, all who have led separate lives, go back to Hong Kong. Although Moira is hopeful that seeing both Carina and Lisa will heal old wounds, she also hopes that the three of them will have the opportunity for second chances.

One feeling that I got while reading this book is the saying that “you can’t go home again”. Their lives, circumstances, and even personalities have changed. But, this second chance story is truly one that shows the depth of female friendships, and how old wounds can be healed, even through tears and sadness.

I was pleasantly surprised to learn how prolific Shari Low has been as a writer, especially as this is my first novel by her. Her storytelling is masterful, and I am thrilled at the opportunity to finally have had the chance to read one of her books.

Many thanks to Boldwood Books and to NetGalley for this ARC for review. This is my honest opinion.

Following the lives of Moira, Carina and Lisa who have signed up for work in Hong Kong in 1990, will they be happy when they see their digs at the Kowloon guest house? They certainly knew how to burn the candle at both ends, and picked the best music ever to emulate.
When Moira decides to get the girls together again to retrace their past she has no idea of the changes that have occurred in all their lives and the secrets they kept from each other. Some will be a revelation others not so.

I personally found it overly long while still enjoyable. My favourite character was Stevie.

I really enjoyed this book. It explored friendship, love and second chances so well. I loved the powerful female friendships, and the fact that the bond never broke, no matter how much time or distance passed. I loved the dual timelines, and how nostalgic and passionate this read felt.
I really enjoy Shari’s writing. I love her festive reads. She just does an amazing job of transporting you into the book. Highly recommend this!
Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for the ARC.

One More Day of Us is another wonderful read by Shari Low. Told in two time lines we read about Moira, Lisa and Carina who are living their best lives in Hong Kong in 1990 and we fast forward to current day and Moria has just retired from being a singer on cruises and in pubs around Glasgow. The time has come for a reunion in Hong Kong with her 2 friends but as they haven’t seen each other for many years will things be the same ?
Right from the prologue this book had me hooked and I knew it wouldn’t take me long to finish it as it was without doubt going to be an unputdownable read. And again with all Shari’s books I’ve read so far I wasn’t wrong. The descriptions of Hong Kong were described so well and having been there myself back in the mid 90’s it took me right back there to the sights and smells of this wonderful city. The characters were brilliant and it was an emotional read at times. We were previously introduced to the characters of Moira Chiles and her actor son Ollie in the previous book One Day and Forever, but this book can 100% be read as a standalone. If you would like to read a book about long lasting friendships, making memories and being there for your friends whatever life throws at you I highly recommend this superb read . ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

It is 1990, and Moira Chiles is on an adventure. She has decided to leave Scotland and travel to Hong Kong to join a performance group where she will make her living as a singer. Whilst the bar that she performs in every day is very swanky, the accommodation where she is staying is a dump. The only thing that makes it any better are the two girls she became instant friends with and the hot reception guy who looks a lot like Michael Hutchence from INXS. Carina and Lisa are in Hong Kong for their own reasons but what they know is that they are going to be friends forever.

Fast forward to 2025 and the three of them are living very different lives. They are still in touch but it's more of an exchange of Christmas cards type of friendship than the all encompassing one they imagined they would have lived. Moira has spent her life raising her son Ollie and singing on cruise ships to make a living, Carina has moved all round the world with her very wealthy and successful husband and two daughters, and Lisa has lived a very quiet life raising her daughter, Stevie.

Moira has now retired from cruising and she decides that she wants to go back to Hong Kong and hopefully Carina and Lisa can join her so they can relive their misspent youth and maybe rekindle their friendship along the way. At first Carina was not going to join Moira in Hong Kong, but then something happens that changes her mind and she impulsively decides she will go.

Both Moira and Carina are quite surprised when it is not Lisa who shows up but rather her lookalike daughter Stevie. The heavy partying Lisa that Moira and Carina knew back in the day is very different from the ultra conservative mother Stevie knows. Can Stevie begin to understand why her mother was so strict? Can Moira and Carina learn what happened in those last couple of months before they all went their separate ways? And what does it all mean to their future lives?

This book brought back so many memories of the 90s. I left home to move to the UK in 1993 and whilst I wasn't singing up a storm in a nightclub, there was a level of freedom associated with being so far away from home for the first time. I stayed in the UK for 5 years and I am still in contact with a couple of people and Facebook friends with a few others. I went to the UK with a suitcase and a backpack and came back with two suitcases, a backpack and a baby. That baby is now 26 years old.

There were a lot of 90s pop culture references throughout the book, which I enjoyed finding, but really this is an ode to the endurance of the music of Fleetwood Mac, from the iconic music, to the distinct look of Stevie Nicks and so much more.

Also we visited Hong Kong last year and I found myself reminiscing about doing things like taking the ferry across the harbour, taking the tram up to Victoria Peak and the humidity as I read this book. Oh, the humidity.
When I said yes to being on this blog tour, I did go back and read One Day and Forever because some of the same characters appeared in both books. I have now come to understand that there are links to other books as well so it is a bit of a tangled web as far as any kind of reading order is concerned, I am a stickler for reading books in order normally,. Even though there is a crossover in characters they are completely different stories with connections but nothing to stop you from reading each book as a standalone. I hadn't read Shari Low before this year. I had looked at her books and had them on my read one day list, but I enjoyed these two books so much that I have mentally moved her backlist to the need to read it now list! And you can be sure I will be reading her future books as well.

I am sharing this review with the New Release Challenge hosted by The Chocolate Lady's Book Reviews. Be sure to check out other stops on the tour shown below. Thanks to the publisher, Netgalley and Rachel's Random Resources for the review copy.

I really enjoy Shari Low's books. I love the characters, the friendships and the relationships in this book. If only the 3 main characters had got back in touch long before they did perhaps their lives would have turned out differently. Written with humour and warmth, this book was funny, sad and very enjoyable.

I received an E-ARC with a request for my honest review.

This emotional & heartwarming read follows Moira who after finishing her cruise ship career, is settling down near her son and taking on a role in a new performing academy for local children.

She decides to write to friends she hasn’t seen in over 30 years and invite them to join her in Hong Kong where they met all of them years ago.

Not knowing if they will turn up, she sets off on her travels to try and relive the past.

Will her old friends come along? Will there be secrets to be discovered?

This is a hard one to review as I don’t want to give too much away, all I can say it is an amazing read to discover everything as you go through the storyline.

I have read many books by this author, and you get to hear from many different characters as you go through, and in this book through different times in their lives. I love this style as you get to piece it all together and at the same time feel all the characters emotions.

Be prepared for heartwarming and emotional moments whilst Moira takes a trip through her old memories.

Overall, an emotional & heartwarming read where a woman hopes to relive her memories with friends from the past.

Hong Kong, here we come!

Another ode to friendship from Shari Low.👯

If you have read any Shari Low books, you know that she will be sure to give you charming characters and moments that are heartwarming and heartbreaking.

This new title is no exception. The book is written in dual timelines with 1995 Hong Kong juxtaposed against 2025. Our main characters are Moira Chiles (you have met her before in books like One Day and Forever), Carina Lloyd, and Stevie Dixon.

If you are like me, the name Stevie reminds you of the iconic Stevie Nicks. One of the best parts of this book was all the music -- including 'Landslide' and other greats from Stevie and Fleetwood Mac. Moira's son Ollie makes a reappearance as well with a supporting role. Love seeing him again and hoping he will really get his happy ending this time.

Some of Shari Low's books are written over a 24-hour period. I really enjoy that format, but also loved this thoughtful, friendship story. There are some great motherhood moments as well, so pick it up to enjoy over the Mother's Day weekend (US observance is May 11).

Thank you to Boldwood Books and NetGalley for a DRC in exchange for an honest review.

I absolutely loved this book! It swept me away from the first page and was full of emotion and nostalgia and lovely characters. The writing is warm, vivid, and filled with heart. This was my second book by Shari Low and it definitely didn't disappoint. Moira’s journey is both poignant and empowering, and the themes of friendship, choices, and second chances were handled with such care. This is one of those books that will linger long after you've turned the last page. A total gem!

Thank you Boldwood and NetGalley for an ARC of this book.

Shari Low is a new author for me and I really enjoyed their latest new book

Set in both 1990’s Hong Kong and then 2025 ‘One more day of us’ is based on three singers, Moria, Carina and Lisa. The girls sing in Hong Kong and enjoy all there is to offer and a fabulous, fun filled friendship , until sadly Moria is required to leave .

Wondering how life would be if they reunited, Moria returns to Hong Kong in 2025. The story reveals their reunion and so much more. Unravelling the bonds of friendship this was a fabulous read.

I look forward to reading previous books by the author.
Thank you for this ARC.

I’ve now decided, if Shari Low writes it, then I’m going to read it. She is one of the best. I absolutely adore her books and this one did not disappoint.

I enjoyed meeting up with some of the characters that we had met in previous novels, and watching their stories develop. I could visualise and even imagine hearing Moira, Carina and Lisa singing back in the day.

Laughter and tears, this is a 5 star recommendation from me.

Moira has been singing in bars ,clubs and cruise ships for over thirty years not knowing what she would do if she retired.. Ollie is Moira's son and a film star but his roots are firmly stuck back in his home town of Glasgow.
With Moira's agent he is opening a school of music and dance for children in the area who wouldn't be able to afford posh dance school fees and Moira will be teaching there.

Before she starts Moira wants to reunite with two friends she worked with over thirty years ago singing in a hotel in Hong Kong. They were different people then, young free and single. Moira has been in touch with them now and again through the years but they have never seen each other.

An invitation has been sent to Carina and Lisa asking them to meet Moira at the hotel they performed at in Hong Kong but even if they don't turn up Moira still wants this one last walk through her past before she starts her new teaching venture. Will she have to do it alone or will her friends be sharing the memories with her?

1990 in Hong Kong we go back to when the girls first met and what their lives were like singing in the hotel.
I don't want to give too much of the story away so you'll just have to read it.

This book was different to the last few I've read by Shari Low in that it wasn't set over 24hrs. I think she so clever writing a story within that time frame.
However this book was so good, very funny, emotional and tear jerking at times.
I recognised Moira and her son Ollie from the last book and it was so good to learn more about their lives.
I enjoyed the rapport that Moira had with Carina these two are hilarious and would love to see them pop into another book in the future. You can never lose good characters like them.
I always enjoy Shari Low's books but I had a real book hangover after this one and it's been so hard staring another.
Fabulous read !

Moira is hanging up her microphone after singing on cruise ships for decades. Not sure what her life holds now, she returns to Hong Kong to reignite the spark she found there thirty five years ago. She invited Carina and Lisa who she met out there that summer in the hope that they could also rekindle their friendship.

This book is about female friendships and it was great seeing the dynamic between these women at two different chapters of their lives. We get to see how these relationships help support each of them across the years facing different challenges.

Told in a dual timeline as Moira returns to Hong Kong in the present and her and her friends relive the summer that changed their lives thirty five years ago. I really liked that the book was told this way, how we got to see how Moira, Carina and Lisa lived that summer in the 90’s how their friendship was built and the decisions they made changed their future. But we also got to discover the secrets they had been keeping from each other.

This was my first Shari Low book, but I will definitely be picking up more. A great book to add to your summer reading list.

Shari Low has a way envelope you with the stories she tells that you can’t put the book down until the end. Three best friends Moria, Carina and Lisa, singing in a high hotel in Hong Kong thirty four years ago. But life happens and even as they kept in touch they never met again. Until Moira plans a trip down memory and fly for a week to Hing Kong. Can they relive their past, reflect in their lives and find themselves again? A great story. Thanks to NetGalley and Boldwoods for the ARC copy, this is my honest review.

In a story of second chances, the author writes a poignant and uplifting tale of friendship and how every tiny choice impacts our future. There’s two timelines, 1990 and 2025, and both involve the women, Moira, Lisa abs Carina who met as entertainers in Hong Kong. In the 1990s we see their lives playing out and them forming their close bond until Moira suddenly makes a decision that changes their dynamic forever.
Then in the 2025 timeline, Moira retires and decides to go back to Hong Kong and face the ladies she hasn’t seen in decades. So much has changed, including the fact that Lisa has passed, but the daughter they didn’t know she had comes to meet them and they get to know her and Lisa as an adult through her daughter.
Such an emotional story of the power of female friendship and how there are some bonds that can never be broken no matter the time or distance.
Thanks to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for this eArc in exchange for my review.

I always know I’m in safe hands when I pick up a Shari Low novel, and One More Day of Us didn’t disappoint. From the first chapter, I was pulled straight into the emotional whirlwind she does so well — a story packed with warmth, humour, and just the right touch of nostalgia.
The structure alternates between present and past, and I have to say, I found myself really drawn to the flashback chapters. There was something extra compelling about revisiting the earlier lives of the characters, though those moments only popped up once every few chapters — I’d have happily read more of them. Still, the pacing never felt off, and it all came together beautifully.
The characters, as always, were brilliantly written. They felt real — layered, flawed, and often hilarious. That said, I did struggle a little to picture a younger Moira; she was so vividly portrayed in her older years that I couldn’t quite reframe her as a girl in her twenties. My brain just wouldn’t let go of the image of her as a sprightly pensioner!
It was such a treat to spot a few familiar names from earlier books — those little nods always make me smile. Shari has built this lovely connected world that makes each new story feel like a reunion of sorts.
A heartwarming, funny, and moving read. Perfect for curling up with and getting lost in for a few hours. Loved it.

Moria is about to start a new phase of her life, and she decides to revisit her past, hopefully with the two women who were once so close to her when they all worked in Hong Kong in 1990. Told from multiple viewpoints and in two timelines, this is an emotional coming-of-age story and one of second chances. The Hong Kong setting gives the story a unique perspective, and the female protagonists are multi-faceted and easy to invest in. I enjoyed meeting familiar and new characters who are relatable and complex. The story is emotional and heartwarming and has the connection with time that defines this author's stories and one she does so well. It is an engaging mix of humour, poignancy, and romance that draws you in and keeps you reading to see what happens to these people to whom you can relate.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher.
