Dr LaToya S Gilmore’s book provides a fabulous, comprehensive resource for anyone wishing to understand boundaries and learn the communication skills required to establish healthier boundaries.
Dr Gilmore explains what boundaries are and how to set them, breaking down the different scenarios in which we all need boundaries including within close relationships, work and digital devices. She provides the tools to create these boundaries and clearly explains how to utilise them.
This is a fabulous book, particularly for those who don’t have a good understanding on how to set boundaries or the confidence to do so.

This was a super helpful and straightforward read. Dr. Gilmore breaks things down in a way that’s easy to understand without feeling overly simplified. The real-life examples and prompts made it feel super practical, like advice you can actually use right away. Some parts repeated a bit, but honestly, it just helped the lessons stick. Great for anyone working on setting better boundaries and learning how to speak up without the negativity attached. 4 ⭐️‘s

On of those books everyone should read and learn from. Some people are born assertive, others just aren't. It's always difficult to develop this skill, but I believe this book can help.

This book is exactly what I needed. It’s practical, easy to read, and actually helps you understand why setting boundaries feels so hard—especially when guilt, anxiety, or fear of being alone kicks in. I loved the mix of real-life examples, reflection prompts, and tools you can apply right away. The section on emotional discomfort and how to deal with it really hit home for me. If you’ve ever struggled with people-pleasing or felt bad for saying no, this book is seriously worth picking up.

A useful resource to improve communication. Dr. Gilmore provides a variety of skills with steps to apply effective communication in given situations.

Dr. Gilmore created an incredibly user-friendly and helpful book! The book provides the skills for effective communication and then explores a wide array of skills for expressing boundaries in different aspects of your life. From assertive communication skills to managing boundaries with family members to self-boundaries with social media use, Dr. Gilmore has it all! Each section of the book is broken down into skills, and each skill is so well explained and concrete steps for practicing it are provided. Whether you are new to addressing boundaries or have been working on it for a while, this book is a great resource.

I enjoyed this book different from my normal reads, very insightful. I look forward to reading more books by this author.
